This is a very light easy read, sometimes silly but, I love Greece.

We meet Cara who is a singer, she is trying to get over confidence issues. This is after a disastrous performance that was supposed to have launched her career. That same night her now ex disappeared and virtually blocked her from his life. The only thing is that her memories will haunt her being back in Greece and she has never sang again since.

Her aunt Margot is a larger than life character with a no nonsense attitude and never lets anyone get close to her. Why???

Margot invites Cara to accompany her to an old friend’s wedding. She omits to tell Cara that she will be singing at the wedding. Margot has her own agenda and hopes that Cara will sing.

Well Margot’s friend and family are over the top. One of the hilarious things is a donkey called pig. He belongs to the Grandmother of the family who is such a character.

We see how Cara handles the challenge about singing again with the help of Akis. He is the brother of the groom. He has family issues of his own. Now, will Cara sing again with Akis gently encouraging her and will he in turn face up to his own fears? And will Margot open up and dare to let anyone in?

When talented singer Cara was humiliated whilst on stage in front of a television audience of millions, there was no way that she could have known that there was more pain to come. After her partner ghosted her, she has basically withdrawn from life. She's given up singing, and she is pretty much allowing her aunt Margot to lead her life.

When Margot announces that they are off to Greece tomorrow, Cara goes along with the plan. It is only once they are there that she finds that they are going to a wedding. Cara can't quite join all the dots together as to why they would be invited to a wedding at the last minute.

It turns out that Margot has an agenda, or actually, a couple of different agendas. And whilst Margot does have the best of intentions, Cara can't help but feeling like she has been railroaded, and her anxiety is ramping up.

Soon after arriving in Corfu, Cara meets Akis Diakos. When she meets him, he is dressed as a priest, but he is anything but...for now. Akis has plenty of advice to help Cara face her fears, but he has his own dilemnas. He must make a huge decision. If he decides one way he will change his life completely. The other could mean a curse that would impact his entire family

Not usually a romantic book kind of girl, but enjoyed this immensely. If was quite funny and I loved the Pig the Donkey. Both Akis and Cara were really great characters and showed their struggles. It did help that even the hotel and details I stayed at this summer were mentioned, helped with immersing myself in the book. 🤣 Will definitely read another one from this author.

A huge thanks you to @boldwoodbooksnl and @netgalley for this eARC. I so fell in love with Corfu and the Greek countryside and now I'm dying to visit Greece 🤩

🏝️Cara is on a trip to Corfu, Greece, with her aunt Margot to attend a big fat Greek wedding. But when she learns that her aunt has a hidden agenda, one she has been fleeing from for a long time, she finds solace in a confession at a local church. Turns out the priest was not who he said he was, but in fact the groom's elder brother, Akis. With a family curse looming over Akis and trying to define his path in life, it is as if the universe conspired to bring these two lost souls together. Will their mutual attraction lead to something more or will it be a summer fling on the beautiful Greek coast?

❣️This book hit me different. It is not the usual run-of-the-mill love story. I mean it definitely has some of the usual tropes, but mental health is a huge focus of this book. So is making choices. What moved me the most in this book is how Cara, Akis, and even Margot fought their inner demons and came out stronger. The way Cara and Akis helped each other overcome their fears was what made their relationship beautiful.

😆Oh and the humor in this story was epic! I was literally rolling around on my bed at 3 in the morning and getting looks from my sleepy husband 😂🤣

🫑The spice was very minimal and the build up of the romance was an extreme slow burn. There were so many lost moments in the story, ranging from human interference to even a bell tolling, I was literally like come on, give them a second! The focus was more on their friendship, which was fine by me, but I would have loved a bit more spice in the story.

Tropes:
💗 Hot cinnamon roll MMC
💗 Slow burn
💗 Grumpy x sunshine
💗 Exotic romance
💗 Small town romance

The Blurb :
When singer Cara is invited to a big, fat Greek wedding in Corfu, she sees it as a mixed blessing: some time to heal on the beautiful Greek island with her aunt will be a tonic, but it’s going to stir up memories – of before Seb ghosted her and disappeared off the face of the earth.
Akis Diakos, brother of the groom, should be looking forward to planning the bachelor party, but burdened by the weight of family expectation, his mind is elsewhere: he has a decision to make – one that could, apparently, ruin his little brother’s life forever.
When Cara learns that her aunt Margot brought her here under false pretences, she’s faced with a dilemma. She’s not sung in public since that fateful day at Eurovision when her life fell apart, and she’s not planning to now. But with Akis’s encouragement, it’s time for both of them to face up to their fears.
And who knows – maybe this beautiful duet will also lead to a beautiful romance?

My Thoughts :
We meet Cara, who is off with her Auntie Margo to attend her Aunts friend’s son’s wedding in Corfu.
Its all very last minute and Cara is happy to go as things in her life at the moment are not going well, and she thinks the break will do her good. But Cara gets to Corfu, and soon she realises Auntie Margo hasnt been honest with her about the trip.
In the run up to the wedding, Cara meets the handsome Akis, who just happens to be the brides brother. Akis also has stuff going on in his life and has to make some decisions but isnt sure what to do. Cara and Akis have a connection and soon we watch their relationship grow.
Can they both help each other get their lifes back in order and find some happiness?!.
Mandy Baggot is one of my all time favourite go to authors. She still grips me into her stories, as she did from day 1.
Its always a delight to be back in beautiful Greece and this time to Corfu with its stunning locations and surroundings.
Mandy Baggot puts the reader in the thick of the action and always has me dreaming of where else in the world I could be at that very minute. Idyllic surroundings and beautiful food to be eaten.
Waiting for the next delightful read.

Mandy Baggot is back with a sun-soaked contemporary romance guaranteed to leave you with a huge smile on your face: One Greek Summer Wedding.

Singer Cara has just been invited to a wedding in Corfu and although she is looking forward to seeing her aunt and to taking some time out for herself to heal and recharge her batteries, she is fully aware that the second she sets foot on the Greek island she will be assailed by a barrage of memories about her ex, who ghosted her and vanished off the face of the earth.

Akis Diakos is the groom’s brother and although he should be happy for his sibling and knee deep in organising the stag do, he is burdened by a troubling decision which he has to make that could have devastating repercussions for his brother. Romance is the very last thing he should be thinking about – until he meets Cara and he finds himself increasingly drawn to her…

Cara is not exactly happy with her aunt who has brought her to Greece under false pretenses. Having refused to go anywhere near a microphone and sing after that fateful day when her entire life had fallen apart, she is not going to be persuaded by anyone or anything to go back on her resolve. But might Akis’s encouragement change her mind?

Is Cara ready to face her fears and put the past to rest once and for all? Can she finally move on with her life? And will Akis prove to be the man for her?

When you pick up a Mandy Baggot romance, you know you are in very good hands and One Greek Summer Wedding is a gorgeous and dreamy tale that touches the heart and will make you laugh out loud. Funny, emotional and hugely entertaining, One Greek Summer Wedding is the perfect romantic escape from the fabulous Mandy Baggot.

In this fun and light-hearted summer romance novel, readers travel to Corfu with former singer Cara, who is working on healing from her last performance and the end of her engagement. Joining her strong-willed aunt Margot at a Greek wedding, Cara does not plan on meeting Akis, the groom’s brother destined to become a priest, and bonding over their struggles with others’ expectations. When Cara learns about Margot’s ulterior motives and her involvement in Cara’s life after her Eurovision performance, she suddenly has to face her fears of performing -- and maybe Cara and Akis can help each other face their fears on Corfu together. With charming protagonists and a surprisingly complex plot, readers are sure to enjoy the vacation-y air of this romance novel set in Greece. Baggot’s characters have strong personalities and minds of their own, and they are the stars of this novel. Major and minor characters alike are incredibly compelling and fun to follow, while the setting itself adds to the atmosphere of the novel. An excellent, light, and fun summer read, fans of the romance genre will definitely enjoy Baggot’s latest book, her characters and setting, and the adventures of Cara and Akis during the Grecian summer.

Whilst the idea of a Greek Wedding is often a subject of books and films, this story gives the theme a welcome uniqueness with its believable characters, vibrant family relationships and gentle romance. Cara's anxieties define her life, and she welcomes the direction and support of her aunt Margot, a driven entrepreneur. A talented singer, Cara hasn't sung since a disastrous performance to a vast audience, and after her relationship imploded, she is happy to do as her aunt wishes. When the latter suggests a trip to Corfu to attend a wedding, she reluctantly agrees despite the anxiety anything associated with weddings manifests. I like the author's use of sensory imagery of the wedding events, which results in many hilarious moments for the reader. Anxiety and the toll it takes on people is a recurrent theme in this story, resulting in many angst-ridden episodes. The author achieves an engaging balance of happy and sad, making this an entertaining read. It also raises some tourism versus animal welfare issues. I like the characters, the family drama and the romance in this idyllic setting.

The queen of the Greek summer romance strikes again with another truly irresistible story, this time set on Corfu.

Although there is a cameo from another Greek Island later in the book too, but I'll leave the specifics of that one for you to find out,

I fell in love with Akis almost instantly, he's an exotic dancer with many other qualities to him, and is also dealing with a dilemma, which risks putting aside his own happiness, to try to prevent a family curse.

Margot and Cara are on Corfu for Sofia's younger son's wedding Cosmos. Cosmos is also Akis brother Sofia is determined to throw the most extravagant big fat Greek wedding the island has ever seen, but things don't quite go according to plan.

I loved the dynamics between Akis and Cara. Also enjoyed the vibe between Margot and Horror (as Margot is calling him).

And seeing Cara regain her confidence to sing, is truly wonderful.

This has a wedding it has snakes, it has a donkey called pig, a wily Greek granny, strippers, mentions of Eurovision and a whole lot more.

It's absolutely wonderful.

Thank you to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

There are plenty of amusing moments in this romcom which features some lively characters. Cara has allowed her aunt to male all her decisions after a traumatic episode and has ended up on Corfu as the plus one to her aunt at a wedding- or so she thinks. The run -up to the wedding gives plenty of scope for humour from some of the over the top characters and there are all sorts of family tensions bubbling below the surface.
This is a fast paced story with plenty of romance and some surprises along the way. It is just right as a summer holiday read- a little bit of escapism. As the holiday pans out, Cara begins to rethink how she has been living her life and has to face up to a few truths. She isn't the only one with a decision to make. Akis, the bride's brother has strong sense of family and is wrestling with a life changing situation. In all, this is an entertaining romance with plenty of comedic moments along the way.
In short: Family, friendships, sun and romance

The story follows Cara, a talented singer whose life has stalled after a humiliating performance and being ghosted by her partner. When her aunt invites her to a lavish wedding in Corfu, Cara hopes the sun-drenched Greek island will help her heal — even though it also risks stirring up old memories.
At the wedding, she meets Akis Diakos, the groom’s brother, who is supposed to be organising pre-wedding festivities but is preoccupied with a difficult life choice. Cara soon discovers her aunt didn’t tell her the full reason for the trip, and she must confront her fear of singing in public again. With Akis’s encouragement, the pair begin to face their own fears — and what starts as friendship might blossom into something more against the backdrop of family drama, music and romance in the Greek sunshine.

This was a free book of the week on Apple Books, which is why I read it, it is not a book I would usually choose, it was a nice read with a predictable story line, but I enjoyed it and it was a good time killer.

Almost a 5 star read! There's a scene closer to the end where the chapter ends with what appears to be the death of Akiss' grandmother, Irini. Her donkey dies randomly instead and the whole thing didn't land for me. This story follows Cara as she travels to Corfu with her aunt. It also follows Akis and his superstitious mother who believes he needs to become a priest before he is 30 to avoid turmoil in the family. His brother is getting married and the mom is calling all the shots. Cara's aunt brings her to Greece under false pretenses and is a piece of work through out the whole book. She would be insufferable in real life but she was written in a very entertaining way. Also, she redeems herself slightly when she reveals how she rid Cara of her cheating ex. I like how Cara and Akis connect over their love for music and compliment each other with instrumental and vocals. Cute HEA. Beautiful setting and scenery described without over doing it. Closed door romance. Loved how the wedding turned out, on the bride and grooms terms.

What a beautiful book, transporting you to the island of Corfu, and even a quick trip to Santorini.

Cara and her aunt Margo are off to a wedding in Corfu, not that Cara knew anything about it until the day before. It is the wedding of Margo's old school friend's son, but not everything is as it seems as Cara finds out when she gets there.

Cara is still reeling from a traumatic experience in her life, which saw her lose her career, her fiance and even her sanity. Can the gentle Akis help her find herself again, even though he has enough going on in his own life, dealing with his overpowering mother who demands he enter the priesthood before his birthday to break a family curse.

I really enjoyed the pace of this book, and the characters were well written. I would recommend this to anyone who would like to escape on their summer holidays. This is definitely a great holiday read ❤️ Thank you Mandy for another great book x

When I need a bright and breezy summer read then Mandy Baggot is one of my 'go to' authors, and her latest offering is no exception.
Cara is a singer who is invited to a family wedding in Corfu, but she is conflicted. It will provide her with a much needed holiday and time with her aunt but it will also bring back memories of her ex who has deserted her and seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth.
Akis is the brother of the groom and is organising the stag do but he is also troubled by a decision he needs to make which could have serious consequences for his brother and family.
Romance is the very last thing on either of their minds but can they resist the instant attraction they both feel.
As with most of Mandy's books this tale is full of wonderful characters (plus one Donkey) and is the perfect escapist read.

Absolutely loved this book, such a fun summer romance.

Cara has been invited to a Greek wedding with her aunt and lands in Corfu just a day later to start their adventure.

Akis the brother of the groom is trying to work out how he can make the best decision for his family as always.
Meanwhile his Yiayia Irini has other ideas of how the family should be dealing with their fate.

When Cara and Akis meet they find a way to help each other overcome their struggles.

A fun romance with a crazy Greek family that will make you laugh and cry. There is something for everyone to relate to in this story.

This was such a fabulous read. As always, the author creates wonderful, rounded, real people. Her characters draw you in so much that you become utterly caught up in their story. I think MB is one of my favourite authors because of the emotion that she invests in her books.

In this one, the cast of characters is wide and diverse and the hero and heroine Akis and Cara captured my interest from the beginning and maintained it until the very end.

The setting is always a bonus in a MB book and since I adore Corfu, it is no hardship to be taken back there again.

A delightful read.

This is an entertaining summer romance set on the island of Corfu, Greece. I enjoyed reading this book, it was funny and enjoyable even though some of the characters and parts of the story are a bit over the top bordering on unbelievable - but sometimes very funny. The love story between Cara and Akis is very sweet.
For me an entertaining summer read that made me want to book a holiday in Greece.

I loved the characters in this book, especially Cara and her aunt Margot. Mandy Baggot has drawn the perfect relationship between the two as little by little we find out what binds them together. Add in a romantic Greek hero, Akis, with a life-changing decision to make and his slightly bonkers family and you have a perfect story. Set on beautiful Corfu too so what more could you want? Except perhaps quick tour of Santorini? Altogether a win-win for me.

ok

Maybe I’m a bit jaded but I skipped a lot of the pages. There were some funny bits. The gran and the donkey. The mother was as infuriating as any character could be but it’s been done many times. The curse thing was just…meh. The f words a bit much. The hero too nice and the heroine too pathetic.

Cara goes to a wedding in Corfu with her aunt, only to find that she has been taken there under false pretences. She meets Akis, the brother of the groom, and there is a spark….although Akis is currently doing some soul searching of his own. A light hearted, easy to read and enjoyable romance.
