The bad news? Getting hit by a cab can officially get crossed off my bucket list.
The worse news? While I’ve woken up from my coma, the man I’m in love with hasn’t stirred from his.
And the most terrible news of all? A pregnant woman is at his bedside, holding his hand, and saying that he’s the father of her baby.
Sammy Baker is a divorced, single mom trying to find her way again. With two boys and an absent ex-husband, she’s got the world on her shoulders and Legos under her feet.
Amid the chaos lives the dream of, one day, finding love again.
Though, she didn’t think that would land her smack-dab in the middle of two men.
Will Sammy choose the successful businessman who doesn’t hesitate to tell her he’s interested? Or will she go for the eligible bachelor doctor with a constant influx of women vying for his attention?
The smart choice and what the heart wants are two different things. And sometimes, fate has a way of making it so the choice isn’t ours at all.

Sammy is a single mom to two young, rambunctious boys, Seth and Grant, with rarely any time to date. Her sister has been trying to hook her up with the hot doc, Noah, for a while, but Sammy always sees him surrounded by other women. Then there's Gavin, the slick businessman, who's showing quite the interest in her.
As you can read from the blurb Sammy will end up with one of these two, but I'm obviously not going to tell you who she ends up with. I will say that she definitely made the right choice just like we knew she would. He was so great with her boys. Sammy & ? were adorbs together, but they said the L word a bit too quickly IMO.
I'm not super big on the single parent trope, especially a single mom, but I liked how Sammy was written so relatable. Her boys were far from perfect and she handled them the best she could as a working mom, and really all we can do is our best.
Most side characters were great. Sammy and Brooke had a lovely sisterly bond.
Overall, this was really fun. I've read this author duo before, but not in a while so I'll have to rectify that asap.
Series notes: This is part of an interconnected series, which I didn't know before I chose to read it. I did a search here first, but didn't see anything linked together (now it is) so I thought I was good to go. Nope, but it's my fault because NG actually mentioned it in the description, but I didn't read all the way down. Anyway, the characters from Accidental Attachment are heavily involved here as Sammy and Brooke are sisters. I do feel like I missed out by not reading that one and can't go back since I know how it ends for them. I don't recall any mentions of the characters from Best Frenemies, so maybe I'll read that one one day.
Narration notes: Excellent narration by both. Never any complaints with Sebastian as he's one of my favs.
*Thanks to Max Monroe and NetGalley for the audio copy. I am voluntarily leaving my honest review*
I am not sure exactly what drew me to the audiobook of Cluelessly Yours by Max Monroe but whatever it was I was glad. Perhaps it was partly the attractiveness of the cover and the other might have been that I was looking for something light, funny and engaging. Cluelessly Yours had all those elements and more. I listened to the audiobook that was very well narrated by both Elizabeth Louise and Sebastian York. This was the first book that I have read by Max Monroe. Cluelessly Yours was part of a series but I had no trouble reading it as a stand-alone book. All of the characters were engaging and so believable. The audiobook was presented in three parts.
Sammy Baker had recently moved to New York City with her two young and rambunctious sons, Seth and Grant. She had gone through a messy divorce and wanted to be closer to her sister Brooke who was pregnant and lived in New York City with her perfect fiancé. Sammy worked as the manager of a restaurant. She juggled her responsibilities as a single mom with the pressures of working at the restaurant. Sammy knew that she had no time to allow herself to date or even think about the possibility of having a relationship. Her sons were a handful but they were the most important part of her life. They would always come first for Sammy. She was already in her forties. Who would even want her?
Sammy’s younger sister, Brooke, had been trying to play matchmaker for the longest time. There was an anesthesiologist that Brooke and her fiancé had met through their dogs that Brooke felt would be perfect for Sammy. His name was Noah and he was so handsome and sexy. Sammy couldn’t imagine what Noah would want with her. He probably had a beautiful girlfriend already. Besides, she could hardly manage her life as it was. How could she contemplate dating anyone?
Then with no forewarning, Sammy found herself in the middle of a love triangle. Not one, but two men were vying for her heart. There was Gavin, a frequent client of the restaurant and a successful businessman who flattered her and appeared to be the perfect boyfriend. Was he too perfect? Sammy couldn’t put her finger on it but something about Gavin felt off to her. Was she being too critical? Then there was Noah, the one Brooke was trying to set her up with. Every time Sammy ran into Noah, though, he was with a different woman. Each woman Sammy encountered with Noah was more beautiful than the other. Sammy found herself attracted to Noah but why would he want to be with her? She was a single mom with two young boys who had more energy than anyone could handle. Was fate going to determine Sammy’s future?
Just when Sammy thought that she had it all figured out a terrible accident occurred. Sammy woke up in a hospital with the man she had chosen and loved. What had happened? Why was there a pregnant woman standing by her boyfriend and why was she claiming that she was his girlfriend? Would Sammy ever have the happily ever after she was seeking?
Cluelessly Yours was well written. It made me laugh out loud at times. All my emotions were tested in this book. I really enjoyed most of the characters and their reactions throughout the book. Max Monroe was a new author for me but I would definitely seek out more of their books in the future. I enjoyed listening to the audiobook of Cluelessly Yours by Max Monroe and highly recommend it. Publication is set for January 13, 2024.
Thank you to Max Monroe for allowing me to listen to the audiobook of Cluelessly Yours through Netgalley in exchange for a honest review. All opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
For me this is so awesome to read a romance of characters over 40 YAY!! It's just so rare and I loved it. After going through a divorce, becoming a single mother now with 2 young boys Sammy leaves Ohio and moves to NYC. Her sister Brooke a famous romance author from book 1 of this series tries to set her up with Noah her close friend. Sammy isn't ready to date, she wants to find herself and the happiness she is seeking but she's completely ambushed by life's trials. You'll swoon, cheer, laugh and I cried a few times over her precious 5year old and because he's just too adorable!!
I was super excited to read about Sammy's story. I just couldn't wait for it to come out. If you're a fan of Max Monroe you'll love this but I suggest reading Book 1 beforehand.
I received an advance reader copy of this book on audio to listen to in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.
***AUDIO BOOK VERSION*** Sammy Baker is a walking disaster magnet (like myself) so I was instantly drawn to this character and found her funny and endeering from page one. I loved the connection between her and Noah and the narrators did such a fantastic job of bringing the book to life and I could have listened to them endlessly with their relaxing but also engaging tones of voice. I wasn't keen on Gavin but loved Sammys and Noahs sisters so much! The book starts off with Sammy in the hospital waking from an accident and then goes to events before the accident - I was so engaged in these events I forgot about the accident so when it unfolded it came as a shock! This book was just the perfect tonic and much needed breath of fresh air that I needed right now and I'm now adding all of the author's backlist Books to my TBR.
Sammy is a 41 year old divorced mom with two little boys. Is she ready to date again? Her sister has been trying to get her to go out with hot doc Noah for months.
But now Sammy is waking up in a hospital after some kind of accident? And in the bed next to her is her date? Her boyfriend? Huh? And also weird is that there's a very pregnant woman sitting by his bed holidng his hand? What is happening?
Let's go back in time a month and find out how we got here and where we'll go from here...
LET THE FUN TIMES BEGIN! 🤣
══════════════════
ADORABLE!
And also so very confusing. You don't know what is what in the prologue. What happened to Sammy? Who is the guy. Didn't we want her to go out with Noah, like her sister wanted? But who is this other guy? And are we getting our happily ever after?? Heheh. Read the book to find out! But just to take away some of your fears. If you're like me and hate love triangles... don't worry. It's not really that bad. Not at all.
I really loved reading this. Sammy is adorable and her boys are hilarious. Noah is amazing. Sammy's sister is so great. Such a great cast of people! This was just the most adorable and funny and sparky and sweet rom-com. I loved it!
Again I'm asking myself: How are none of Max Monroe's books streaming their behinds off on TV yet? The world is a weird and sad place!
CLUELESSLY YOURS was such a sweet + funny + adorable + slightly mysterious rom-com! Run to your nearest book dealer for your own Noah - this one is so mine!
Thanks to Deanna at A Novel Glimpse, I picked this one up in KU because I was looking for a good laugh. And while I didn't laugh, AT ALL, I did enjoy myself for the most part.
Sammy went from being a single mom, fresh from an awful marriage and divorce, with zero romantic prospects... to a single mom with two gorgeous men at her fingertips. Who to choose, who to choose? I would have went with the doctor, but I'm not her and I had to watch her go through the motions of figuring out her best move.
Whatever this story was trying to give, I missed it. I didn't really like Sammy, I really liked Noah (and thought he deserved better than Sammy's MANY assumptions), and I was amused by the twist of events the authors created. I don't know about anyone else, but I was more invested in Sammy's sister's story than this one. I'm thinking I'd probably prefer it.
I have always strayed away from stories that include a divorcee, mainly because I feel like it's a too mature topic for my age or because the main characters have kids (kids in books are a hit or miss) or because the reason for the divorce is a cheating partner (which I am still straying away from--I really despised this trope) but I thought I should give this one a try.
What attracted me to read this book first was the cover; it looks so pretty to be ignored but I stayed because of the story. At first, I was sort of annoyed with Sammy. She's got lots to complain about herself and it's getting tiring until she met Noah and I gotta say, her character became much better after that.
I was shocked by Gavin though. That part really got me disgusted with him. Although partly, I knew he was way too good to be true and the fact that her own guts are already telling her that he's not the right guy for her says a lot. The kids are adorable and the name of the dog, Chanandler Bong made me laugh. Also, when Dr. Shepherd was mentioned and then Grey's anatomy...that series really follows me anywhere I go.
Going back to the book itself, I think it is well-written. This is my first book from Max Monroe and it really made me want to try her other works. I actually got it to the end despite disliking the divorcee trope, so I guess that explains a lot how good this book is.
The audiobook, the narrators did a good job narrating it, although there were some parts that I kind of cringed. I am not judging it entirely though afterall, this is my very first audiobook.
💎 Thank you Netgalley and Max Monroe for the ARC and ALC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own and I am leaving this review voluntarily
“Well there fucktacular!” - might be my new favorite line ever.
OK, I hate to admit it. But I’m pretty easy to please. Just give me some banter, a little bit of smut and some TV movie references are always great too.
But they freaking did it again! Max and Monroe are amazing. I knew the minute this book got released that I needed to get my hands on it. It is funny, heartwarming, and just makes you fall in love with all of the characters.
Banter Friends to lovers Love triangle Hospital setting Found family New York City Dr.
And so much more! I can relate to a book and love it more, when you bring some of my iconic favorite TV shows, movies, and books into the mix.
I will forever auto buy, and love these two authors and their books. Highly recommend if you need something funny, cute with a little bit of spice.
Cluelessly Yours is the newest standalone from author duo Max Monroe. This one has a divorced, single mom heroine who wakes up in a hospital next to her boyfriend/the man she loves after they were both in an accident…and oh yeah, a woman saying she’s his girlfriend and is pregnant is there too!
I’ve read the last few releases from this author duo and this one ended up just being okay for me. There was a little too many pop culture references, which I feel like ends up just aging a book and I’m never really a fan of. I also felt like it was obvious to see where the story was going to go/how it would unfold after the reveal in the beginning. I wasn’t a fan of going back in time for the entirety of the book to see “how they got there” to then catch back up with present day.
I feel like this author duo has its audience for sure, it just might not be me and I’ve given a few of their books a try now to discover that. This one was okay, just not for me.
I received an audio ALC from NetGalley, all thoughts in this review are my own. Cluelessly Yours is out January 13, 2024!
Cluelessly Yours was not at all what I was expecting and it kept me turning the pages long into the night!
Sammy is a single mom of two young boys who recently relocated to New York to be closer to family after her divorce. She's a trying to get back on her feet, when she finds herself in the middle of a love triangle. A love triangle that ends with her and the man she loves seriously injured in the hospital. And now there's a pregnant woman at his bedside.
This book was so good! It hooked me from the very start and kept me locked in turning the pages. I love how the authors told the story. How they set up the timeline changes and POV. While this story definitely has their romcom humour, it also feels quite angsty too. It's a love triangle, but the hero in the end is so clear when you read it. He will make you swoon. I only wish we got a little more of his story, his POV, because I just adored him. He was just SUCH a good guy. He was the obvious one to root for, even if the authors left you wondering how it would all turn out.
I would have liked more time in the present. Before the I love you's- because that seemed to happen quick. But they just fit so perfectly together. The chemistry was there. And it gets steamy. Overall I really enjoyed this story. It made me laugh, made me feel, and kept me entertained. Would definitely recommend checking it out on release!
4.5 Stars ⭐️
*Would also recommend reading Accidental Attachment prior. You could get by without, but to know the side character's from that book, would make this one even better in my opinion.
Thank you to Rick at That's What She Said Publishing for the ARC in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own and given freely.
I love this world that Max Monroe created and I adore Sammy and Noah. Chefs kiss. I really hope Kendall is up next! Put her in, Coach!🙌🏼🤣 Also, the audiobook for this is amazing!
🌸WHAT IS CLUELESSLY YOURS ALL ABOUT? Great question!
⬇️⬇️⬇️ 💋Single mom, divorcee ❤️Love triangle 🔥 He falls first 💋Two men pursue her 🔥Hot bachelor doctor vs successful businessman ❤️Friends to Lovers 🔥Sworn off relationships, afraid to commit 💋Unrequited Love ⬇️⬇️⬇️
The authors did a great job hooking me into this one. What happened? And who was the pregnant hussy? I had to know and I immediately fell for Noah. He was tall, dark and handsome and I couldn’t take my eyes off of him. He loved the children (bonus points). And Gavin I wasn’t sure about but I’d probably go have a nice dinner with him. The whole thing made me nervous and I couldn’t breathe again when she made her choice. Well until the thing happened! So yeah, I ended up reading this in one day because I had to know how this was going to end. HEA in case you’re wondering. I want to say it’s my favorite in the series but I think I say that about every book. (I’m smiling) What I loved: • The prologue • The on-call room • Their kisses • Noah’s character Thanks Max Monroe and Rick for including me in the eArc. All thoughts are my own!
Thanks to NetGalley and Max Monrow for an advanced audio copy of this book. This book had a LOT of tropes. Its almost as though the author decided to go all out. Plot: Sammy is a single mum who recently moved to New York to be closer to her sister. Her ex husband is a deadbeat who isn't in their lives. Brooke is Sammy's sister and having found her soulmate and being currently heavily pregnant decides to play matchmaker and thinks her friend the dashing Dr Noah Phillips is perfect for Sammy. Sammy isn't sure she's even ready to date yet but when successful and charming business man and client Gavin asks her out she pushes herself into uncharted waters and begins a tug of war for Sammy's affection. With a host of characters who also have their own story input and some twists and spice thrown in the book should keep you on your toes. Although my personal view is it did not make me emotionally invested enough with the all too cliché tropes: Doctor trope 2 men vs 1 woman Surprise pregnancy Matchmaking friends or family Friends to lovers Cheating spouse
About the audio: The book is dual narrated by Elizabeth Louise about 2/3 and Sebastian York the other 1/3. Fans of ausiobooks will recognise his deep and sensual voice from many a steamy romance ausiobook. However on this occasion I don't think his very deep voice suited his character very well. Other than that narration was great.
I LOVED this one. I think it’s my first 5 star of 2024 even. It was witty, funny, and had a great romance in it. The plot kept me turning pages and I really didn’t see the plot twist coming. The main character being a single mom added a wonderful element too and it just tied together really well.
🌀Synopsis Sammy’s life is being a mom. She’s got her two boys and they keep her plenty busy- especially when they don’t behave at school. Sammy dreams of finding love again which is why she decides to take a chance when one of her customers asks. Gavin is great but he also leaves some room for improvement. Especially when her heart is partial to the hot doc on the block, Noah, who her sister is trying to set her up with. Sammy keeps seeing him with a woman though so she decides to keep pursuing things with Gavin. That is, until he accuses her of being a tease and she leaves him upset. She ends up in the bar and runs into none other than Noah. They finally iron out the woman he’s been seen with and he admits he’s been attracted to her for awhile. They start seeing each other and it’s wonderful. Sammy is completely happy. Then one day a pregnant woman knocks on the door and things get chaotic really fast.
Although Sammy’s ex is only mentioned in passing, it’s obvious he’s a douche. Then there’s Gavin, who acted like a nice guy to get Sammy to date him, but who turned out to be a cheat and boarder line abusive. Last, was Noah’s longtime friend, who ruined several lives with his selfishness. Brooke from Accidental Attachment is Sammy’s sister and she’s determined to set Sammy up with Noah, a pediatrician anesthesiologist. Despite her having two boys that are just short of feral, it doesn’t take Noah long to be attracted to her. But she’s also dating Gavin. But circumstances are about to turn both their lives upside down. I enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to everyone.
Read this if you like: •Chandler Bing (RIP) •Single Parent •Doctor •Friends to lovers
Find yourself a doctor. That’s all. Jkjk. This book was so sweet. Might be my favorite of this series so far. Sammy the single mother & Noah is a bachelor doctor who become friends. Sammy’s meddling sister is fantastic too. This was a blast
Thank you Max Monroe for ALC in exchange for an honest review!
I adored this quick, fun read about Sammy and her chaotic life. Sammy, divorced mom of two very energetic and unfiltered boys, recently moved to New York City to be closer to her sister and for a fresh start. Her sister, Brooke, a high profile romance author, is determined to play matchmaker. Sammy is more than resistant as her life just seems too busy and crazy. Her oldest son almost gets expelled (such a funny scene!), her youngest breaks his arm, and her nanny is moving to go to grad school. Throughout these and many other unfortunate events, Sammy's plate is just too full, or is it?
Enter in Noah and Gavin. One is a hot doctor (and advocated by Sammy's sister to date), and the other is a businessman and also hot. As Sammy tries to navigate dating with motherhood, work (she is a general manager of a popular NYC restaurant), and ensuring her high risk pregnant sister is ok, she learns a lot about letting go, letting good things happen to her, and finding out who is truly in her corner.
There were some twists and turns in this book, some I did not see coming. I think they added some interesting and complex layers to an overall cute. rompy romance. While there is a book before this that introduces Brooke and her fiance, this can be read as a standalone without missing a beat. I absolutely LOVED the references to things such as Friends, The Office, and Rookie of the Year. There was a good amount of laughs had while reading and just enough steam to spice it up a little.
Sammy is a single mom focused on getting her life back on track after moving to NY with her boys and raising them alone.
Life is hectic for Sammy, but she handles it all so well. Even when she thinks she is failing at parenting alone, she's still doing her best!
Her boys were hilarious. Especially Grant. He's a tiny little funny tornado. “I didn’t know old people could move this fast!”

I couldn't have been happier with the MC that won the FMC heart. He was perfect and so patient. "Operation “Be the Man by Sammy’s Side,”
"He’s my person. My guy. The only man I want to be with. Frankly, I don’t think I’ve ever been more certain of someone in my whole life than I am of him. Than I am of us, together."
I received the audiobook in exchange for an honest review!
Cluelessly Yours is the most recent book from author duo @authormaxmonroe it has the characters from previous books and I really enjoyed revisiting them. It can totally be read as a standalone but I do think you'd benefit more by reading the others first.
Sammy was such a great character. I really liked her. Noah was definitely swoon worthy. He knew what he wanted and he went after it. He wanted everything with Sammy including the kiddos. The characters are also over 40 and I truly found it refreshing to read.
Although this one wasn't as laugh out loud funny as the previous it was still enjoyable. I still found myself chuckling multiple times. I do think it was a bit drama heavy for me and the hesitation between both men kind of threw me off, but overall it was still a good read.
I am a Max Monroe fan and can't wait to see what they come up with next.
🎧 The narration by Sebastian York and Elizabeth Louise was on point. I really liked them for both characters, I do think they're what made me chuckle with their intonations and vocal expressions.
✨️Thank you to @netgalley, @goodgirlspr, @rick283 & @authormaxmonroe for my free ARC & audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
Sammy! I’ve been so excited for her story even more so towards the end of Best Frenemies! Getting to see more of the sisterly relationship between Sammy and Brooke and the mom life struggle was amazing and all too real. 😂
This was such a fun read filled with some twists, some swoon and some hilarious banter. The dynamic duo that is Max Monroe outdid themselves. So happy I read this!
I admired Sammy and how hard she worked to take care of her two sons, when her super selfish husband walked out on all of them, not just Sammy.
Dr. Noah Phillips is the perfect man for her and her sons. When Angela, his ex-girlfriend shows up pregnant, wanting to talk, it almost costs Noah and Sammy their lives.
Angela took way too long to reveal how deceitful she and her "real" baby daddy turned out to be. My heart broke for his wife because she did not deserve to be disrespected like that.
Note: This review is for an ARC and is my unbiased opinion.
4.5 Stars Sammy and Noah's romance is finally here! Or is it??? It's hard to tell with the blurb and how Cluelessly Yours starts out. The prologue shook me and had me wondering what was going on and just who Sammy had fallen for. After reading it, I was in a rush to read and find out what was in store for Sammy. There were a lot of ups and downs for her, but she ended up in the best place. Her romance was sweet, funny, and a little crazy - just what I've come to expect from Max Monroe. I loved that Sammy's sister and Chase were there to help support her and her kids along the way.
I know I'm not really telling you anything about this book, but that's because I didn't know much other than the blurb going in and I ended up being surprised more than once. I had an inkling of how things would work out for Sammy in the end but didn't truly know what a ride she was going to take to get there. I recommend going in blind with this book and avoiding as many reviews as possible. I will say I am hoping there is a book for at least one side character coming.
You can find this review and others like it at A Novel Glimpse.
PERFORMANCE: Narration by Sebastian York & Elizabeth Louise – 4 STARS
Overall, I enjoyed both narrators, but I will say that it took me a minute to get used to Elizabeth’s narration because it felt more like actual reading. I’ve listened to quite a few of her narrations and never really felt this in those but this one was hard for me.
At first, I didn’t know how to feel about basically splitting up the storyline into 2 parts where the first part was all Sammy’s POV because I just could not connect with Elizabeth’s narration but in hindsight, I am super glad for it because I basically got the #twitchy out of the way before it was Sebastian’s turn *heart eyes* and all ended well! :)
STORY: 4 STARS
This entire story was ridiculously adorbs except I honestly do not know why any of triangle situation was even needed in the story. Did it move the story line forward? In my opinion, no, it only added an extra layer of dramatics the story didn’t really need. Honestly, I wouldn’t even consider any part of this story a true love triangle situation but I know those words have been used in some of the advertising but for me, the story drove in a straight line (no real triangle) the entire time. *shrug*
This series connects with characters here and there, but I truly think that if you want to read this without having read the first 2, you would be just fine. Yes, there are cameos from past characters, but the story of Sammy getting her HEA stands on its own.
I’ve really enjoyed this series thus far even tho all the stories seem to have some sort of unnecessary (in my opinion) dramatics, the voice and style of this author duo is quirky enough that I end up lost in their stories every time. This is actually my first series by these two authors but I’ve got some of their backlist already on my kindle & audible to look forward to!

Sammy is a 41-year-old single divorcee with two rambunctious and rowdy boys, constantly surrounded by chaos and with the weight of the world on her shoulders. Although she has no time do date, one day, she finds herself in the middles of two men: the bachelor peds anaesthesiologist and the successful businessman.
This was a laugh-out-loud sweet romance about a mother who adores her children and gives everything she has to them, but who also needs to learn to take care of herself and do things for herself after a failed marriage with a man who never really cared. Just as she gets close to getting the answers she seeks and settling with a man who absolutely adores her, Sammy is involved in an accident. When she comes to, Sammy wakes up with a pregnant woman standing by her boyfriend who claims to be his girlfriend. Will she be able to find her happily ever after?
Although this is the third in the “It’s a Funny Story” trilogy, I read this as a standalone and adored it. There is something so heartwarming about a single parent trope where the parent gets all the love and care they deserve and have been looking for. It was uniquely told, split into three parts: 1) Sammy’s POV, 2) MMC’s POV, and 3) dual POV epilogue, which added a nice touch to the story.
Audiobook narration:
I really enjoyed the dual audiobook narration for the book. Sebastian York is one of my favourites, and alongside Elizabeth Louise, they really made the 40-something-old FMC and MMC come to life.
Thank you to NetGalley and Max Monroe for an ARC and ALC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
