I started to read this book several years ago and found I wasn’t ready for it. I picked up several months ago and suddenly realized what the author was trying to say. Or the ahhhhh! Moment hit me. What seemed so hard to understand suddenly was plan as day. I now understood what the author understood. What perception the ancients had. This knowledge was discovered thousands of years ago. I nor a lot of people just weren’t ready to try to understand what they had discovered.
Really makes you think. A great collection to take something from, although if you don't know much about or understand philosophy some will confound you.
This was a fantastic quick read into some brilliant minds. Great for use as a daily meditation or guide into some of the best insights on the main 4 virtues. Highly recommended
It is a well curated collection of Stoic quotes. First, you just read it. Then read it and highlight the quotes that speak to you most. Write them out to your journal to reflect on. This will give you the most value, I believe.
