This story immediately caught me by complete surprise ~ and a GREAT one at that! This series, I believe, will be climbing to the top of my favorites!
The last three years feel like a bust for Caroline Shaw. With the passing of her father, a cheating scum of a husband who took everything but their child, and finally losing her job as the head librarian, she may just be hanging onto that knot at the end of the rope.
Caroline finds herself navigating rough waters between her daughter, Jules, her dad & his new wife.
For the time being, Caroline is staying with her lifetime BFF, Jennifer, until her future begins looking up; and it appears that future of up & coming life looking up is about to happen for both ladies … right now! Some twists & turns to look forward to:
•A mystery series ready to be made into a television series! •A tall, dark, & handsome stranger who ends up sitting at her table in a cafe….both of them are starstruck. •They make dinner plans, neither knowing anything about the other.
(I believe this was the beginning of my favorite part of the book because it reminded me so much of Lady Mary Crawley & Mr. Talbot from Downton Abbey 🖤🧡.)
•Twists & turns are about to begin •Unknown, mistaken identities •Mystery, heartbreak, teenage drama, & romance (all clean - thank you!) •A beautiful island
I couldn’t have asked for anything more from Author Amy Rafferty & The Lighthouse on Plum Island. It snuck up on me, I was intrigued from the very beginning! She is a new to me author this year & she did NOT disappoint!
I absolutely loved this story and its characters from the beginning to the happily-ever-after. There was a lot happening on Plum Island. Caroline and her teenage daughter, Jules, were very likable. I love that Caroline’s books were being made into a television series on Plum Island. Then she meets Brad who later turns out to be the director of her upcoming TV series and their attraction is undeniable. I enjoyed reading about the yacht parties and other fun adventures. I was rooting for them to fall in love. There were some who-done-it’s that kept me guessing who was behind the theft of Caroline’s laptop and the persons who had burglarized her home. I kept trying to unravel the mysteries and just when I thought I had figured it out, I ended up being wrong. I really liked how Brad’s son, Connor, met his surfing heroes on Plum Island and the direction of those characters. The teenagers in the story were all good kids which was refreshing. Almost every character was very likable with maybe one or two exceptions. But that was deliberate. I enjoyed Amy Rafferty’s style of writing and look forward to reading more of her books.
Amy has become one of my favorite authors. Her books combine a love story with a mystery. Caroline is having one of her book series turned into a TV series. This is wonderful news but she is also dealing with her marriage ending and her daughter currently thinking she is the cause. While in New York visiting her BFF Jennifer, she meets Brad. Their attraction is immediate. I so enjoyed them just getting to know each other slowly. Miscommunication causes this new romance to falter. Forward to Plum Island and the production of the series. Caroline and Brad see each other again, as they now realize they will be working together. His family's company is producing the book she wrote. Their attraction is still strong. The mystery is who attacted Caroline and is ghosting everyone's phone and stealing laptops and scripts. The culprit may not be immediately obvious but you'll be surprised when you discover the criminal. I'm looking forward to the next book. There were so many good characters in th8s book.
In Amy's new series we meet Caroline Shaw , a librarian turned mystery writer to help her with living expenses since her divorce 3 years ago ( after finding out about her husbands affair 2 weeks after her father died. ) He kept the New York Brownstone and she relocated back home to Plum Island. She has just finished a meeting in New York with Travis Danes, Head of Danes Productions, selling her Mystery Series to them to make a TV series. The series will take place on Plum Island. She meets her best friend Jennifer for coffee to celebrate, but Jennifer is called away on business. As she has already ordered her coffee and set-up her laptop to do some work, a Handsome gentleman, asks if he can sit with her , as there are no empty seats. Four hours later as she is ready to leave, he asks to see her again tomorrow. Same place 6 PM, oh and his name is Brad, that's all she knows. Let's see where this winding tale of CRAZY characters takes us. Another great job by Ms. Rafferty.
A great start to a new series. Lots of action and mystery. Divorced mom, Caroline meets the handsome Brad at a coffee shop and sparks fly. After spending time together Caroline misinterpreted a scene at a party. Time passes and their paths cross again. It seems Brad is looking for the author Carrie Lines, and is surprised to meet Caroline. Brad’s family’s company is supposed to be producing a tv series from author Carrie’s books.
Lots of sabotage and danger seems to hit Plum Island. Computers and telephones are taken over and cloned. Will the series be made? Is their plagiarism in effect? Will Caroline be safe? What does the future hold?
Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion.
The Lighthouse on Plum Island is the fantastic suspenseful romance between Caroline Shaw, a divorced mother who is a new author whose books are to be used as a television show to be filmed in her Plum Island/Cobble Cove home place, and Brad Danes, who is a single father and who will be overseeing the production and entertainment aspects of the series for his family business. Their rocky romance begins in New York City and continues in Plum Island with misunderstandings, acquaintances, and white lies. I highly recommend this well written book with its amazing characters, humor, mystery, suspense, friendship, and wonderful romance. I received a free copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This is the first book in the Cobble Beach Romance series. I love all things Amy Rafferty and this does not disappoint!! Caroline moves to Plum Island with her fourteen year old daughter Jules, into a cottage her father left her. She is an author (Carrie Lines), of the Cobble Cove Mystery series. Her book series is going to be turned into a TV series. Caroline meets Brad at a coffee shop in New York City. She does not know that he is Danes Production Company, the company producing her series. What happens with this chance encounter? Love the plot, great setting, and strong intense interesting characters. I can't wait for the next book in the series!!!
It was fun getting to know the main characters in this book. The beautiful setting adds much to the story and the author does a good job of making the reader feel as if they already know the island. This is a sweet romance, and I also like that there was a little bit of mystery added, too. I liked the Plum Island community, and I'm looking forward to reading the next books in this series.
Since I mainly review Christian fiction, I want to be sure to point out that this is clean contemporary general fiction and there’s not an emphasis on faith. That being said, this is enjoyable story.
I voluntarily received a copy of this book from the author. All opinions are my own.
It took me a bit to get into this story. I had been a bit triggered by my own emotions but I went slow with this book and let it speak to me. It is not the normal cozy mystery I usually read but it had that suspense aspect I like. Romantic suspense is my guilty pleasure and getting a old fashioned good town with a good ole happily ever after gave me a hope in home again that I had been missing. Thank you Amy for this. It really helped heal an open wound in my own soul. This is a great book and I hope you take your time and let that build up to the wonderful conclusion make you smile again.
Caroline Shaw’s life is about to change. After being a librarian for years, she’s written a mystery series that’s been picked up to be made into a TV series. She couldn’t be happier. Oh, and she meets a very handsome guy named Brad.
Things get crazy, lots of misunderstandings and who’s claiming Caroline stole their book idea? Follow along on another amazing story from Amy Rafferty. She never disappoints.
Disclaimer: I am part of the ARC team. I received this book from the author, voluntarily read and reviewed it.
The first book in Amy’s new Cobble Beach Romance Series is an exciting page-turner. It’s a romantic suspense with plenty of subterfuge. There’s unknown identity & misunderstanding. The main characters are believable, interesting & likeable. Plenty of action, with a strong supporting cast. The saboteur becomes clear before being revealed, but several red herrings lead elsewhere. Intriguing. Hooked. Great series awaits I received an Advanced Reader Copy from the author, & I am writing a voluntary honest review.
This novel was a thoroughly enjoyable, intriguing, and suspenseful book. The characters were well developed, the storylines were clear, not all tangled up,as some books can get. The descriptions of the setting in Cobble Beach made it seem so inviting. Caroline and Brad’s happily ever after came with some serious angst and courage on both their parts to be open and honest with each other. The final chapters unraveled the mysteries and threats surrounding the TV series production of Caroline’s books.
When Caroline divorces her husband and moves back to her small home town with her teenaged daughter, life is difficult. She decides to pursue her passion to write and pens a series based on her small beach town. When she's contacted to make the book series into a TV series, her life is about to change in SO many ways. Definitely chick read, but enjoyable. However, it started out well as far as editing is concerned it definitely needs some editing!!! ie: shelves littering the beach rather than shells, discrepancies in names midstream.
An absolutely phenomenal story that had me on the edge of my seat at times and at other times, celebrating meaningful relationships. The suspense, drama and intrigue captivated me from the start. The ending was a total surprise. An extremely well written and entertaining story that I highly recommend. Kudos to Amy Rafferty for a fabulous new series!
I read this book as part of an advance reader team and am providing my honest opinion.
Is a sweet clean romance with suspense, mystery, ect and no cliffhanger. The characters are well developed. Who broke into Caroline's home knocked her down and stole her laptop? Who put spyware on laptops and phones? Who's sending threatening messages? Who's trying to destroy all of Caroline's dreams? These and more questions are all answered. I loved the story and can't wait for Amy's next book to come out. I received a free ARC and this is my honest opinion.
Caroline Shaw was a writer and had started a series “Cobble Cove Mysteries “. She meets Brad Beckett at the coffee shop. It was fate that brought them together as they had to work together on a television production of her series. There are a lot of twist and turns with a mystery in the story to make this an intriguing and very enjoyable read. I am on the ARC team and leave a honest review. I recommend this book to other readers.
Good start to a new series Being first in series, the reader is introduced to a new resident on the island., but there is also the glimmer of things to come. This series is a full novel, individual storyline. A second chance romance, served with a side dish of suspense and drama. Good characters and storyline, as Caroline Shaw is dealing with the a breakdown of marriage and the fallout of divorce.
This was a fun and cozy romance with mystery elements to it. This is the first book I have ever read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The FMC really goes through it from having a bad divorce to moving to writing a book and getting that turned into a show to having mysterious things happen as the show is being made. I loved the characters and the relationship dynamics throughout the book and would highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan or romance and cozy mysteries.
This is the first book I've read by Amy Carter and I've found a new favorite author. It's a good combination of blooming love, family drama, misunderstandings, jealousy, a good mystery, and some clever pets. In addition, the descriptions of Plum Island and the beauty of small town coastal life are so complete that you can smell the surf and feel the breeze as the words come off the page and surround the reader.
Not Rick; Jan (hubby and I share our Amazon account). I’m not particularly interested in the world of the uber wealthy but the writing, interesting characters and story held my attention. I enjoyed the mystery within the story - who was trying to sabotage Caroline’s series; the New England island setting and the overall plot. This was the first book I’ve read by this author- I’m going to continue with book 2.
I really liked this romance about a writer Caroline who has lived on plum island for her life. It starts off taking place in New York where a twist of fate brings Caroline back home to small town plum island. When a series of strange occurrences take place in this small town it makes this novel hard to put down! Looking forward to reading the next in the series!
Just finished reading the Lighthouse on Plum Island. This was such a fantastic book. I love Caroline and Brad. The romance and mystery in this book kept me reading to see how it was going to end. I wish this book didn't end yet, but I get it. Amy Rafferty has once again written another page-turning book. There are 8 books in this series, so I am lucky enough to have seven more books to read about Cobble Beach. Thank you so much, Amy, for another wonderful book/series.
Caroline Shaw has recently divorced. Moved her daughter Jules from New York back to her hometown Plum Island. She’s a writer and feel's like her life is starting to turn around and then she gets caught up in a lot of mysterious things happening. Her series gets picked up a production company and then everything gets crazy.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Caroline and her daughter move to Plum Island, she is a writer of mysteries and a Librarian. She meets a man as her books go to tv. Real life intrigue starts when the shooting for the show is getting ready to start. Loved the start to the series, looking forward to more.
This is the first book in a new series by a couple of my favorite authors. I absolutely enjoyed learning about Plum Island. Harriet has some pretty crazy Critters that made this book so enjoyable. Now I just got to wait for the next book to come out and I can learn more about the TV series.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Wow, this book was amazing! The storyline was full of drama, family conflict, secrets, unbreakable friendships, and romantic moments. It kept me glued to the pages. This is a sweet escape into a journey of second chances, love, and what's most important in life. I am crazy excited about this series and can't wait for the next book!
