Long ago, before men came to the shores of Ireland, there lived a race of gods who fought a great evil to keep their island from sinking into the sea. Knowing men were destined to rule the land they loved, the gods created four great treasures to guard their beloved isle should the great evil rise to destroy it once more. Thousands of years would come to pass before the treasures were needed, before man would have to fight, to save Ireland from destruction.

Morgan MacQuill flees America with her newborn son, running from an abusive husband. She finds herself in Ireland, with family she never knew existed. She soon discovers a heritage and power kept hidden from her and a destiny that will change her life forever.

Quinn MacGreen has dreamed of a mysterious blonde woman his entire life. He meets his new neighbor, Morgan, and is shocked to see she has stepped out of his dreams and into reality. He struggles to accept his fate while protecting the woman he doesn't want to fall in love with. Morgan's estranged husband begins a deadly search for her and Quinn must do everything in his power to keep them safe.

When an ancient evil returns to destroy the world, Morgan and Quinn must work together to guard a great treasure forged by Celtic gods. Morgan's past collides with the evil they are battling and the mythical war they are fighting becomes personal.

With a mix of magic, suspense and plenty of romance, Irish Strength will take you on a journey that turns myth into reality and proves that love really is the most powerful magic of all.

In late 2021, I unexpectedly lost my husband.

My high school sweetheart, my partner for 18 years, father to my three children, confidant, and best friend, was gone so suddenly, I couldn’t grasp the new reality I was forced into.

But my children needed me, and though grief sometimes threatened to drown me, I pulled away from the choking darkness of loss, to be strong for them.

I thought maybe I wouldn’t be able to write again: After all, I had lost MY happily-ever-after, how could I create one for my characters?

But I have come to realize that just because the love story I had with my husband ended, in a way I never anticipated, didn’t mean it wasn’t real, true, and full of love. It didn’t mean I couldn’t still believe in it, hope for it, write about it, find it again.

On the contrary, it meant I knew what it took to find it, to create it, to keep it, to nurture it, to survive losing it. And it has made me a stronger woman because of it.

I have always believed that everyone deserves a happily-ever-after, and that some love stories are born in the dark.

Now, I can say, that some love stories rise from the ashes of another story, and though it may be different, it is still love, it is still deserved, and it still breathtakingly wonderful.

I urge you all, no matter where you are in your journey of life and love, to never stop believing in that happily-ever-after, whatever that story means for you.

Simply Wonderful!!!

I simply loved author Amanda Meredith’s debut novel, “Dark Mountains”, and am so glad that to have started with her Irish Treasures Saga.

Book one of the series, Irish Strength begins with a pregnant and abused Morgan MacQuill who is struggling with a monstrous and abusive husband Jonathan. One day after a very traumatic rape, a bleeding Morgan admits herself into the hospital. To her great astonishment, her Aunt Clare suddenly visits and helps her heal and deliver her baby son. To save her and the newborn, Braden she is whisked away by her aunt to Ireland where she is introduced to her family. Her Uncle Jamie, cousins Ian and Brigid. And she also meets her neighbor, Quinn MacGreen and his sister, Maggie. When they first meet, Morgan and Quinn are both startled to realize that they have seen each other in their dreams. Though they are both struggling with their own beliefs, he with his stubbornness to defy his fate, and she with her traumatic past, they are inexplicably drawn towards each other.

“She was meant to be his. No matter what they had both gone through, no matter where they come from. They were destined for each other.”

But Morgan still has a lot to learn about her legacy and history. In the safe haven of her family, she discovers the truth about herself, her past and ancestors and the battels that she has to be prepared for. With her family’s steadfast support and Quinn undying love, Morgan trains and hones her inherent skills.

Amanda Meredith creates a vivid world filled with shape-shifters, prophecies, healing powers, seers, lost treasures and the threat of an ancient evil. Magic, mystery and legends completely come alive in the ‘Irish Strength’, but the underlying message was that family, be it the in the form of a father or brother, wife or sister, husband or brother, aunt or nephew, true love and family will always be the most magical of all. And I am so looking forward to devouring the next three books in the series.

Few quotes that I absolutely loved:

“How do you know you don’t want it if you refuse to give it a chance?”

“But I am finding that what we are given is much better than what we do or don’t ask for.”

“Fate is what it is: fate. None of us would be here now if it were not for our pasts.”

P.S: As I write this, I’m already half way through book 2, Irish Heart!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ohhhh I got this as a sale on Kindle for PC and read right through it. I now have ordered all 4 of the books and continuing with the series....love this series. It gives you all that you are looking for in a good book. I am excited to get all the books in the mail and read them all! Yes!
If you are looking for a great series set in Ireland with love, struggles, blessings, and overall family values then this is the series to read. The overall style of the writing is great. You feel like you are right there having the conversations with the characters, walking among them with this author's style of writing. I really enjoy not just reading a book, but being placed along side the characters and feeling like I am apart of the book. This is one of those I have read that I am way excited to continue the series, yes there are 4 books in all! Oh my gosh I am so loving it so far!

If there were more than 5 stars I would give all that I could. I couldn't put this book down. I loved the way Amanda Meredith wove the Irish lore into her book.

I really connected with Morgan and Quinn, she learning of her heritage that was kept from her and the dream that each had of each other. Morgan learns that she has power to heal among other things that witches do.

It had me on the edge of my seat when reading the last chapters about the battle with Jonathan/monster. I hoped that Morgan's baby would live, and Quinn also. The similarity between the High King and Queen and Quinn and Morgan tied the Irish heritage together.

I can't wait for the second book to come out. It is true that love is the most powerful magic of all.

I received this book as a Goodreads giveaway.

I don't usually read fantasy books but I really enjoyed Irish Strength. It was modern day so it was easier to follow than typical fantasies set in arbitrary times and places. The action and romance were well balanced and the culture of Ireland was really well thought out. I can't wait for the next book in this series!

Irish Strength is book one of Amanda Meredith’s Irish Treasures Saga. The author clearly put a lot of work and passion into this novel, but it’s just not very good. She tries to show an abused woman who comes into her power, but the heroine seems weak most of the book and the hero is a bit of a jerk who is very insensitive to her past abuse. The book contains one-dimensional characters, a kitchen’s sink worth of fantasy elements, and punctuation errors. The writing is trite (“Clare smiled, knowing that in giving birth, Morgan had awakened an ancient part of her soul”), clichéd (“Go back to hell where you belong”), clunky (“She knew he was fighting his destiny, but she knew he would protect Morgan and Braden as best he could”), and overwrought (“They’re both bright as the sun with hearts more rich than a leprechaun’s gold”). I also found it unintentionally funny (“He let her watch him as he continued to swing his ax, slightly annoyed at the emotions he sensed from her. Surprise and confusion, but mostly desire: hot, quick, and very passionate. He barely had to probe to see it, making his male arrogance swell with pride.”)

The plot is all over the place. Everyone seems able to communicate telepathically (even the dogs) and/or transform into an animal. Characters also see the future, heal people, and have visions of the past. Romantic pairings and pregnancies come fast and furious. Little rhymed spells became annoying very fast. Scatterings of Irish words are used often enough to be a distraction. Someone who loves fiction set in Ireland with romance but not much character development might enjoy this book.

I read a digital copy of Irish Strength.
