The difference between book one and two is that Dan got his comeuppance, everything else was same ole same ole and just in case you’re wondering why I read this even after rating the first book 1 star, it’s because I borrowed the trilogy box set and hoped this serial would be an improvement. Alas, no.

When I read TouchStone for Play (the 1st book) I thought 'wow, nothing can top this!' I read it 3 times through, unable to find anything that was at it's level of story telling….UNTIL TouchStone for giving came out last week. From the first page to the last I was completely riveted! I was brought through a gamut of emotions from scared, angry, elated and of course, wrought with lust and desire. For a week, my husband has been asking me what has gotten into me… Ayden Stone and Elizabeth Parker got into me! Their love story and story of their lives - the good and the bad, kept me locked in their world, making me never want to leave. I kept reading the percentage ticker on the screen hoping the number was going down, not coming to an end. Yes, I know I'm gushing but I can't help it. I loved this story so much that it has truly become a part of my life. Thank you Sydney Jamesson for writing your books, thank you for your characters I love (and the ones I hate) so much. And more than anything… as a fellow writer, thank you for making me want to be a better writer. I read you and want to be at your caliber. You make me strive to improve myself. I can't say it enough - THANK YOU!

One word. Superb. Well more than one word because TSfG is a book that seriously deserves more. Ayden and Beth's continuing journey is one of true unconditional love and is a beautifully descriptive and emotional one. The depth of their feelings and how much they are prepared to fight for one another is wonderful. As a couple you simply can't not love them.

Whereas I labelled Ayden as a mix of Cross and Emerson in the first book, in this he becomes his very own man. I fell in love with him all over again. His vulnerabilities and fears surface but we see far more of his fun side and he is wickedly witty and playful. Beth simply blossoms and I loved seeing her protective strong side unleashed. They are made for each other.

With many surprises and revelations, yet enough left unanswered to leave you craving the final book, touching heartfelt moments are perfectly balanced with fun lighthearted ones and the deeper ongoing storyline provides the grit and uncertainty that will keep you on the edge of your seat (Dan Rizler still makes my skin crawl). It is a gripping, intimate, sensual and captivating read that I can't recommend enough.

Okay, here goes nothing. I'm am not your typical reader of romance, I love murder, mystery, mayhem, etc. You see I've been flat on my back for eight wks and have been gifted nothing but modern romance & erotica.

After completing TouchStone the story of us, I was hooked. It has everything, and the way Sydney is able to write two parallel stories and enter twine them with ease is a feat in it's self. Fortunate for me I completed book 1 on Saturday, and book 2 (TouchStone for play) was released on Sunday. So, my storytime continued.

Unfortunately, now I'm jonesing for Book 3. I don't want this story to ever end. I completed For Play in 2 days, actually it was 1 3/4 (finished at 5:20am). It made me LOL, made me cry, and snicker with the smart and witty repartee (urging Beth on).

And, by the way listen to the songs in the story as you are reading. It will heighten and enhance your reading experience.

"When I grow up" . . . I want to be Sydney Jamesson so I can write books that could touch the hearts of others the way she has touched mine. Especially when I was in need. Thank you Sydney. These two words truly are not enough to to express how much I appreciate your TouchStone series. Truly a 5 star read!

I raise my glass to all of you who have chosen to partake in the journey. May this story continue on an on an . . . Cheers to you all!

I knew that this instalment of 'The Story of US' was going to pack a punch. And boy, was I right!!
It totally grabbed me from the very first page and took me back into the fabulous, passionate world of Elizabeth and Ayden.
Before I go on I just want to say, this series does have a 'Fifty' feel to it. No, the story isn't the same. Not even the characters are the same. It has the depth of feeling to it that I remember having when I read about my favourite Mr Grey. The same kind of intensity and enchantment that you will only experience if you read it yourself.

The twists and turns are ten fold. There are many breath stopping moments for every reason imaginable, some bad and some good. My reactions to this story were extreme and I loved that it evoked such a spectrum of feeling from me. Although I am regularly caught up in the world of make believe, it's not often I feel as though I am actually there. Witnessing every bright Technicolor for myself and feeling every whispered word.
Elizabeth is really starting to find her feet and her voice. She is no longer the timid, shy young lady that we met in 'for play'. She seems to have grown. She thinks and acts like a woman, doing everything she can to keep her chin up and also support the love of her life.

'I'm falling so far and so deep, I may never make my way out of it. If this love of ours should end, my world would crumble. I would turn to dust and i'd be forever lost to the wind.'

Ayden, my sweet, adorable, sexy Ayden. He is so vulnerable, so damaged from his past. BUT, Elizabeth completes him. She makes everything ok, and everything pales into insignificance alongside her. This does not take away from the fact that he is a total god in the bedroom. Ayden Stone is definitely making headway on my list of book boyfriends!

Instinctively I arch my body to press against him, swallowing up his groans with my gasps. "What about self control?" My words are no more than a garbled muttering of broken syllables "Fuck self control Beth. I want to hear you come."

I'm just going to touch on a few parts of the book that have stayed with me.

The incident in the flat-Jeez louise!
This.was.intense. to say the least! Scary, realistic and the longest I have held my breath in a book EVER! There was one good thing to come out of this incident however, Ayden decides Beth must move in with him for a little while. To keep he safe. Keep her close and i'm sure in his mind it was just to keep her! Smooth move Stone!!

Vegas-*swoon* yes, I did just swoon. I LOVED Vegas!!! Until the last bit that is...

The bittersweet reveals- so exciting to see further into the mind of My Stone but heart breaking at the same time.

The final scene- WOW, This is one of the things I could sense happening. Ms Jamesson built up the anticipation for this moment and it was delivered beautifully. Tense, graphic and totally captivating.

Of course we get an insight into the sordid mind of that grubby little man, Dan Rizler. Eugh, that man makes my skin crawl. Getting any little snippets from inside his mind made me feel like I needed a shower, and not in a good way. It made me sick that now he has a grubby two faced little sidekick too. Elise, is obviously a woman scorned and like Dan, wants what she can't have. That isn't going to stop her trying though and she's going with the mind set that if she can't have Ayden Stone then no one else is going to have him either.

Overall, a superb read. This is what you call a page turner, every single page was packed with information, even the little details that you may overlook are significant. Cleverly written and tied together in a web of Love, Adoration, deceit and revenge.

5 Super Sexy Stars *****

"Like the ripples on a pool, merely the faintest memory of you was enough to give me the strength I needed to carry on, even when I thought I couldn't. The Promise of you was enough."
Beth, "Touchstone for giving" {The Story of Us"

Sydney Jamesson in "Touchstone for giving" has gifted us with one of the most memorable, beautifully written and emotionally charged love stories I've ever read. This book consumed me. I read it twice, each time with a box of tissues. I laughed, cried, found myself screaming at the characters and at times had to put the book down because I was afraid of what might happen next.

From the first chapter we are irresistibly drawn back into the lives of Ayden Stone and Elizabeth Parker. Ms Jamesson weaves an intricate plot, with twist, turns and revelations, that you will never see coming. I was swept up in the passion and emotion of their love story and kept in suspense waiting for the scourge that is Dan Rizler to strike.

We get insight into Ayden when we meet his adoptive parents Sylvia and Patrick. They help shed light on his pass and the choices he has made. Their insight helps Beth make a life altering decision. Beth finally realizes what Ayden already knows, that they are soulmates destined to be together. They have a shared bond through time and space that cannot be broken. Beth and Ayden's love story is sweet, tender and passionate. He takes her on a journey of sexual discovery that is sensual and erotic. As they learn to care for each other we see them healing emotional scars and striving for a new beginning.

Alas the path to true love is not a smooth one. They struggle with Ayden's past relationships, insecurities and the ever present danger that is Dan Rizler. Dan's is determined to have Elizabeth his "Princess" and he is closer to that dream than ever before. Enter Elise Richards she is damaged, with a haunted past, once preyed open, she is now obsessed with helping Dan acheive his goal. The tension will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat, afraid to turn the page.

5 stars is not enough!! I love everything about "Touchstone for Giving" by Sydney Jamesson! Her books are beautifully written. There is warmth, passion, heartbreaking intensity, suspense and characters that are realistic with human frailties. I love Beth and Ayden, and yes I even have a affinity for Dan and Elise, they are deliciously diabolical!! I have found a new favorite series in "Touchstone for Play" and "Touchstone for giving" {The Story of Us}. I Can't wait to read "Touchstone for ever" !!

I was captivated by the blossoming love between Ayden Stone and Elizabeth Parker in TouchStone for Play, but the second instalment in The Story of Us Trilogy left me emotionally exhausted!

I couldn't turn the page, yet I couldn't put it down, I was so caught up in the twists and turns which are so cleverly written, it is sure to keep you guessing!

I love the way to two books are linked, you find yourself remembering things from TouchStone for Play, which seemed inconsequential at the time, but suddenly make sense!

I don't know how I will bear the wait until the final instalment!!

Book Two in The Story of Us: TouchStone For Giving by Sydney Jamesson did not begin the way I had expected. TouchStone For Play ended with an edge-of-your-seat cliffhanger, one where you were certain of what would happen on the first page of the next book. This was just the beginning of the unpredictability of this story. Secrets and mysteries were spoon-fed in tiny increments, not only to the reader but also to Beth, the female main character.

I will admit, that although I gave the first book a five-star review, I had some plot concerns. It seemed to me that Ayden, a womanizing man, became overly obsessed and in love with Beth immediately. I overlooked this and let myself get swept away with the fantasy and romance of it all. However, it was because of the subtle hints the author wove into the story that assured me there was much to learn which, I knew, would justify the suddenness of the romance.

Slowly, the answers to my questions were satisfied. This story has romance, intrigue, mystery, suspense, and so many tense and chilling moments. The sick obsession Dan, the antagonist, has for Beth is a disturbing parallel for the beauty of Ayden’s pure love for her.

Again, at the end of this book, there are unanswered questions. The author craftily drops hints that can easily be overlooked. I can’t wait to find out what happens in TouchStone For ever and to see how deep and far back Ayden and Beth’s connection goes.

TouchStone for giving (Story of Us Trilogy, #2) by Sydney Jamesson
Well I have to say Sydney Jamesson has done it again. I have been somewhat impatiently waiting on the next instalment of The Story of Us trilogy and I was not disappointed. at. all! I could not put this down. From start to finish it was a rollercoaster ride of emotions.

Picking up straight from the cliffhanger at the end of ‘TouchStone for play’ we are transported, head first, right back into the world of Beth and Ayden. There are a lot of sweet, moments in the book, highlighting how their love for each other has grown at warp speed. That’s not to say there are no bumps along the way, they do have them, but it is how they are able to overcome these developments that make you see how much their relationship has changed in such a short space of time. Where Beth was the calming influence on Ayden in the first book, we get to see him do the same for her during and after a particularly harrowing scene with Dan. When I was reading this part of the story, I could feel the ice form in my veins at the sheer terror Beth was experiencing.

Dan Rizler is still his creepy self, but this time his level of creepiness has been taken to an all new level. Then when you throw in the fact that he has now got a female version of him, in Elise, who has her sights set on Ayden, the double dose of skin crawling, inflicted by those two, had me reaching for anti histamines to try to quell the itch!! Again, Dan is written in the third person, so it gives the reader the opportunity to see how he thinks and what makes him tick. It was evident that Dan was a seriously disturbed individual in the first book, but this time we get to see more of how his mind works, making him even more unpleasant, something I did not think would be possible.

It wasn’t just Dan, who we were able to get a deeper insight too. We were also given an insight into Ayden’s childhood and adolescence, which was amazing. You are given a deeper understanding about the driving force behind his success. I especially loved to see the softer side to him. We knew he has the ability to show his caring side to Beth, but this time we get to see that side of him extend beyond his relationship with her.

I love how Sydney is able to paint the scenes with her words, which allow you to visualise every event with clarity. You are able to experience the good and the bad, and you are able to feel the emotions as they are happening. None more so than during the time they spent in Vegas, which was full of beautiful happy memories, right up until the end of the trip. Then there was the final scene. WOW! The build up to that was intense and I actually had shivers down my spine as it unfolded.

I could say so much more about this book, but it would all amount to the same thing in the end. This is a book that is worthy of reading more than once. The story will consume you from page one right up to the very end. It will take your breath away in so many places, make you smile in so many others and leave your hair stand on end. If I had to sum up in one word it would have to be OUTOFTHISWORLDBRILLIANT!!!

Thank you again Sydney.

TouchStone 'for giving' book #2(The Story of Us) by Sydney Jamesson, is yet another compelling read by this great new author. In my humble opinion, her writing style and command of language makes her books exude quality. Ms. Jamesson's thought processes are not two dimensional, bringing plots and sub-plots alongside one another. These elements offered depth to the book, and her attention to small details, makes it an enthralling read.
There are layers to 'for giving' as the story begins to unfold, which made me eager to find out what was going to happen next. Laced throughout the story are many 'gems' of humour and insight, which made me laugh out loud. There were also tender and touching moments that came out of the blue. These incidentals were one of the things I loved about it.
Essentially though, 'for giving', is a follow on, romance novel, which focuses on the relationship development of Ayden and Elizabeth, and the author's romantic portrayal of the couple is very believable.
The trilogy is definitely a 21st Century romantic love story, which has well developed characters and an excellent plot. The language is pitched perfectly, as the insecurities, thoughts, actions and observations of all of the characters.
Most of all, the heroine is not just a helpless female, she is perceptive knows when to advocate for herself. Elizabeth's character does this both, intelligently and with sensitivity. Another fine piece of writing Ms. Jamesson, I personally can’t wait for the conclusion of this story. Personally...I think amazon needs to be adding another star for their reviewers.

This is the second book in the TouchStone series. It starts off right where the first book finished.
Beth is fighting off her worst nightmare while Ayden is out of the country on business. Dan is one scary guy, he is the evil in this story. He will have you locking your doors at night, I guarantee it.
Thankfully this book does not have nearly as much drama and heartache as the first.
It is more of Ayden & Beth's love story. It is sweet and informative, the author did a great job of explaining every detail.
You will get a lot more knowledge into both Ayden and Beth's past. I loved this book.
One of the best things is, you never know what to expect. Ayden keeps surprising me at very turn. Just when you feel like you have the story figured out, something will come along and derail all your theories.
I was happy to see Beth much more sure of herself. She not the same scared emotional wreck that she was in the first book. I really love how her character & self esteem grows throughout the story.
The end is a cliffhanger, just like in the first book. But I have a feeling the next book will be just as full of drama and romance as the first & second.

3.5 stars

well considering I started off skimming through the first few chapters due to the storyline dragging a bit, I was completely hooked by the 60% mark.

Elizabeth suddenly becomes much more likeable and starts showing some back bone improving her character imensely.

Ayden is just a swoon worthing romantic alpha male. Bringing the steamy hotness, chemistry and sexuality.

The dark storyline running behind the scenes, takes different unexpected turns. filling the story with suspense & intrigue.

We'll I need to know what's in line for all the characters featured in this trilogy so straight onto book 3.

Just hope the last installment remains as enteraining as this one!

**********Contains some MAJOR Spoilers*********

Basically this book is about the lengths a husband would go to protect his pregnant wife Beth from a group of terrorist seeking revenge even to the point of letting the world believe he is unfaithful.

Sounds Logical???Well this is fiction.

Husband to wife:

“Well then. I had to send you away and make it look convincing. The argument at the airport, the drinking with Jake, the girls in the club . . .”

And so the subterfuge continues while his wife observes a world away to the point of despair:

“Why didn’t you tell me? Every picture tells a story. “I didn’t think I had to. I told you not to believe anything you saw or heard, didn’t I?I’ve missed you, Beth.” His tone softens. “You have no idea just how much.”

Okay I understood the love, the despair, the pining until the author includes these delightful insights when an ex lover joins him on the spur of the moment at a restaurant.

Jake to the husband:

“She looks hot,” says Jake, signalling the waiter for the bill. “Not that you haven’t noticed.”

“Keep your dick in your pants, Jay. She’d have you for breakfast and still go out for brunch.”

it’s not my dick I’m worried about.” He stands, and we’re face to face.

“Don’t worry about my dick. It’ll be staying right where it is until Beth gets home.”

So while the Jake waits for the husband while he decides to go make small talk that takes longer than he promised(he later explains to his wife his actions in a letter about his ex lover who surprisingly reminds him of his pregnant wife:

Letter:

I intended to give her ten, but something profound happened, Beth. There was something about the way she toyed with her drink, brushed the hair from her shoulders, rearranged the condiments and laughed at me, that reminded me of you. I’ve been so starved of your affection that—I admit, I took solace in her company. For that I’m sorry.

Husband & Ex scene:

“And what can I get you, sir?” It’s the million dollar question. Do I stay and have an innocent drink with a former lover and hope it goes unreported? Or do I leave her to drink alone and go home to an empty house? It’s a no-brainer. “I’ll have a double scotch on the rocks. The best you have.”

And these the husbands musings of his ex-lover which cannot be captured on a photograph:

She greets me with one of her slow, sensual smiles. Reflexively,I respond.....

I catch her scent before I see her face. It’s her signature perfume: not too floral, a hint of spice and very intoxicating.

I instantly notice how the light reflecting off the crystal glasses has turned her eyes into translucent emeralds. It’s hard for me to look away.

The sultry tones of her eastern European accent cause the air to shift between us.

“If you could see your face.” She reaches up and runs her fingers across the scar beneath my right eye. “You are so handsome, but so lost.

Her eyes soften and the emerald sparks become sultry and sincere.

Rediscovering her catwalk charisma, she throws back her hair, allowing it to cascade around her shoulders like liquid copper. She is unquestioningly beautiful on the outside; a stunning representation of the perfect female form. It’s only now I realize the depth of her inner beauty.

She giggles in a way that causes my body to respond. Not because she’s Alenka but because it reminds me of Beth.Like an excited schoolgirl she giggles, just like Beth, forcing me to readjust myself in my chair.

I miss you, Beth.

She leans forward and I follow, almost to the point where our noses are touching. There comes that intoxicating fragrance again.

She reaches out and puts her hand over mine.

“May I get you a drink?” She looks at me, seeking permission. Receiving a nod of approval, she places her order. “I would like a dirty martini with extra olives and a cube of ice, please.”

She chases the olives around her glass with her finger. There was a time when I would have taken that finger, placed it in my mouth and tasted the martini. But not tonight. She pops it inside her mouth and draws it out slowly, once again, triggering a memory . . . of his wife:

Beth and I are in a rustic restaurant called Ad Hoc, she’s playing the seductress. I’m watching her fondling breadsticks, sliding one into her mouth and sucking on it.
It’s funny the things you remember when confronted by an international model trying to rekindle a spark.

She fishes out her remaining olive and pushes the martini glass to one side. “Aren’t you going to drink that?” I ask, curiously. “I don’t drink,” she says, edging away from the table.

News reel:

His companion Mr. Jake Harrison, also of ASMI, left earlier. Mr. Stone, recently separated from school teacher, Elizabeth Parker–Stone, his wife of three months, was joined by the beautiful international super model, Alenka. They left together arm in arm. Is their love affair back on? Mr. Stone was unavailable for a comment.

As if that's not enough he goes to meet her the following day because she wants to introduce him to the father of her child( maybe that's why she was not drinking. She just wanted to suck on his olive & maybe the fact that he forgot he wa supposed to be sacrificing family time to save his wife, got bored & decided so lets continue meeting the ex)

Ex lover to Ex lover aka husband:

“So tell me, do you approve? Is he the one for me?” She’s hanging on my every word.she looks directly into my eyes; her smouldering emerald orbs are igniting, piercing my soul.

She confesses, “The same thing I always wanted you to say, ‘Marry me, Alenka.’”
“Sweetheart, that’s never going to happen,” I state unequivocally, watching disappointment burn in her eyes.

I lean into Alenka to kiss her cheek, but she pulls me in close for a hug. Before I can object, her arms are around my neck and she is whispering in my ear. “I will always love you.”

His Wife to husband:

“Alenka?”

He shrugs his shoulders. “She’s never hidden her feelings for me from you. In fact, we both underestimated her. She didn’t do what you’d expect.”

“No?”

I expect she tried to seduce you.

“No. She said that whatever I’d done, I should apologise. Beg you to take me back.”

“I don’t believe that,” I huff, mockingly.

“You should. You know how smart she is. She saw through it all, told me that I would never love anyone the way I love you. She was right.”

“There were photos of you drinking champagne, laughing, hugging . . .”

“We were celebrating.” Our separation, I expect. “Celebrating what?” I ask, quick as a flash. “She’s pregnant.”

Facts:

* If you read the book the ex does encourage him to return to his wife in between trying to subtly seduce him.He just omits telling his wife that part even when she asks directly.
* He also omits telling his wife how he waxes on very lyrically about his ex beauty. Her intoxicating smell, her eyes igniting his soul, her hair, her perfect female form.
* He did not tell his wife his ex giggles gave him an erection because they reminded him of yes his wife's laughter.

Another strange addition was his excessive drinking. If one had fanatics trying to kill you why would you drink senselessly.Should you not be alert at all times even with bodyguards around?

I otherwise liked everything about the book and I will read the conclusion to the trilogy.

There is no cheating unless you count the strange interlude with the ex & the husbands sometimes bizarre comparisons to his wife..

Another great book for the series, however... I've got several issues with it.

1. I feel like the back story of Ayden and Beth meeting during their childhood was too contrived. I just wasn't convinced. Sorry!

2. When is it ever OK for your man to speak frankly and nostalgically about screwing other women?

3. When is it ever OK for your man to ask his ex (who is still in love with him BTW) to help him with your engagement plans? Wtf?!

4. Dan's storyline was wrapped up very quickly. As I was really getting into it there at the end, it was the end. Ummmmmmm... What?!

5. Beth kept referring to the fact that the ice inside her was starting to melt. So what the heck was the last book about??? Why were you saying I love yous??? Why were you engaged???

6. Beth had many reasons to feel insecure with Ayden, and for all of his proclamations of love, I don't think they were addressed well enough IMO. It seemed to always get brushed under the rug and Beth was more than happy to leave it that way. I expect more than that for my heroines. I wanted her to stick to her guns just once. Every time she questioned something, she'd look into his eyes, get hypnotized, and fold. Backbone girl. Please find some.

7. Pet peeve for me was how Beth described clothes and food. She's a teacher. They don't make a lot of money. How did she learn to differentiate between designers? And where did she acquire such a delicate and knowledgeable palate?

There's more irritants but I enjoyed the book regardless, so maybe they aren't that serious. Then again, maybe they are. I hope not to find these in the next book.

*I was given a copy of this book as a gift from the author in exchange for an honest review. This is the second book in the Story of Us Trilogy, and it is the continuation of Ayden and Beth's story.

Book one ended with psycho Dan, Beth's previous attacker and stalker, making his way to Beth's apartment door. This book picks up as Dan is trying to break in, and when he can't get in through the door, he breaks the window. Things are tricky for a few moments. but Ayden shows up and scares Dan away. Ayden is scared for Beth's safety, so he talks her into staying with him. While Beth is 100 percent in love with Ayden, he is still keeping secrets from her. Of course, this upsets Beth because she wants to know everything about the man she loves. He finally opens up about his past, and she understands him a lot better.

Even though Ayden scared him off once, Dan bounces back and comes up with Plan B. He begins working with a woman named Elise Richards. Elise is a woman from Ayden's past, and she wants to get Beth out of the picture. These two crazy people will do anything in their power to get what they want. It doesn't take long for Dan to launch another attack. Will Ayden make it in time to save Beth once again, or will Dan finally get his wish?

If you are looking for a romance filled with secrets and unexpected surprises then this is the book for you!
