The Encyclopedia of Super Heroes,' an alphabetized list and description of super heroes written by Jeff Rovin, including full page, colour classic comic prints
I wore this book out from constant re-reading as a kid, and it's only through the application of several layers of packing tape and rubber cement to hold the cover and binding together that it still exists today. An A-to-Z compendium of just about every superhero you could think of and related info, it's a wonderful book for the young comics geek. It's far from perfect - some of the selections make no sense (Luke Skywalker counts as a superhero, but Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers don't?), and some of the info is occasionally outright wrong - but it's fun, and I loved it so very, very much.
A very comprehensive encyclopedia of super-heroes, and not limited to comic book characters, from the Golden Age to the modern (at the time) era. Many good illustrations. Well done, informative and wntertaining.
