After leaving her toxic fiance, 45-year-old author Kassandra Graham seeks peace and quiet. The secluded 3600 sq. ft. house with heated pool provides the sanctuary she needs to silence the negative voice of her ex and the solitude that allows her to write uninterrupted in order to meet her contractual obligations as a romantic fantasy author. Meanwhile, the adventures of Char, the empowered main character of her self-published contemporary romance novels are what keep her going. Thus, Kass spends the first year in her new house doing nothing but writing.
Asher McNeil once dreamt of playing football, marrying his high school sweetheart and designing his own home in the big city. Major injuries, a gossip-ruined relationship, and his mother's illness brought him back to his hometown with no backup plan to escape. Ten years later, he is finally comfortable living alone in his childhood home and delivering mail to the people he's known all his life. When the small-town gossip train begins chugging toward the recluse with the audacity to have their groceries delivered, Asher decides it's time to meet, and warn, this person.

It's a beautifully written story!!! This author took me on a wonderful romantic ride that I enjoyed so much!! One of my highlights was that I wasn't following a young person but someone who has lived life a bit more
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wow...just sailed through this fun, spicy romance. I love the title! Truly fitting to the story. This book is beautifully written with the perfect amount of romance, character development and plot. There was romance, witty banter, small town vibes, love of books vibes, steam, and real connection. The author has captured my interest with her writing style and attention to detail.
This quick, fun romance read will put a smile on your face. This character-driven story illustrates Kassandra and Asher’s journey as they evolve and grow. I don’t want to give anything away, so I will just say that this story was engaging and memorable. 😉 (wink, wink) So enjoyable! The book comes out February 29th, so mark your calendar!

Oh, oh, oh, how I loved this bookish love story. Great chemistry and a cinnamon roll of a love interest. Perfect! So grateful for having been given an arc of this!
You’ve Got Bookmail was a fantastic book and wonderfully written. Such an easy read, I got sucked right into it. I was as invested in the story Kass was writing as I was with Kass and Asher’s love story. I loved the story within the story aspect and I really want to read all about Shar’s adventures.
This is an open door romance with instant lust, fantasies, and includes a spicy Ferris Wheel moment.
Kass was so fun to read about and I can relate to her insecurities - and every hopeless romantic needs an Asher in their life.

If those strike your fancy, this is the book for you.
Loved this book! It was so good! It's not your usual traditional man in uniform romance. The FMC is an author and the MMC is a mailman. It's even got a kitten in this book! You know how most books in the first 50% of a book is slow and takes awhile to get into...well take the last 50% of a book and BAM this is that book. With this book you don't have to go thru the slowness of getting into the book. This book pulls you in right from the very beginning.
When are we getting the story that Kass was writing?! I need the whole thing, lol. And while we are on this topic Malissa and Jesse need a book! Can't wait to see what else Leya comes up with next!
This is an overall cute + sweet story, but I had a hard time really getting into it. I felt moments were rushed— the romance and the drama/miscommunication. I found myself not relating to the characters even though I really wanted to. The spicy scenes were 🔥 though!
This book surprised me. It took longer for the main characters to get together than I was expecting, but once they did I loved them together. The ending was top notch. I enjoyed this read.
So thank you to the author for gifting me a copy of this book. So this is jade and Asher meet cute. This is about kass who is an author, plus size, older.she move to a small town and throw her self into her writing and doesn’t leave her house for about year, when Asher our younger cinnamon roll mail man delivers her package and fall head over heels in love with her. Spice is definitely worth the wait,a little bit of a slow burn.
This short story was really cute. I don’t usually enjoy an age gap but this one felt more genuine with them both being older (45 and 32 iirc).
I have a question though: who refers to their boobs by their size??? “My 38DDs” is such a weirdly specific way for the author to include the FMC’s breast size.
Do readers care about this?? It feels the same kind of tacky as when a guy’s penis is described in specific inches. Feels unnecessary imo, and immediately weirded me out.
Apart from that, Kass and Asher were perfect and lovely and supportive of each other. A wholesome short read!
Kassandra and Austin both have trust issues due to past relationships. Nosy neighbours do not help and a troublesome ex. With neither having confidence in themselves will either get out of their own way and step outside of their current comfort zone and test the happiness to be found out there? and give love a try again? A good read.
Well, I devoured this in two sittings. If I hadn't had to go to work the next day, it probably would have been in one!
Love the Dual POV for a slow burner, perfect for building up the tension and this book had a cute little storyline which kept you wanting more and then, in my opinion, perfect sprinklings of spice to warm things up. Without giving too much away, I'll be running not walking when the carnival next comes to town and I'll be first in the queue for the Ferris Wheel! lol! For me the pool scene was the best, damn that cat though!
The fact that Kass in an author in the storyline means that you do get a little 2 for the price of 1 in glimpses into the novel that she is writing, for me the spice scenes that she writes weren't as enjoyable as the main story ones because for me I like the slow burn and the character development which we didn't get with Shar and Mack but like I say, this felt like an extra freebie anyway.
All in all a great easy read and I'm so glad that Kass got her HEA.
I love it when a book brings me back to my original joys of reading small town romances. Getting to read about Kassandra and Asher was phenomenal. The angst and slow burn build up was perfect for this book to keep me interested. The ending, though!!!!! Probably the best outcome I could jane wanted for Kassandra and Asher.
I will say, the 🌶️ was mainly foreplay and it was 🥵 🥵 I loved how took their time exploring each other, I guess I’ve gotten used to characters sleeping together right away but I guess I had forgotten how hot the build up can be! Love how it shows we all have a past, we are all affected by what happened to us before and as much as we may not like it- we act accordingly. Loved how patient Asher was with Kass, not giving up on her and letting her slowly learn he was there for her.
Hoping for a sequel with Malissa and Jesse!

I really enjoyed this book. The story was captivating and the characters relatable and likable. The premise is fun. I enjoyed the story within the story. This is my second book by this author and I like how she gives the spotlight to characters we wouldn't have expected to see in romance stories in the past. I'm looking forward to her next project!
Short, sweet and a little spicy (2🌶). While Kassandra is 45, she has a lot of healing to do and is very slow to do it. She moves out to the outskirts of a small town after divorcing her husband (total a-hole by the way), and focuses on her writing. A year later, the local mailman, Asher, decides to knock on her door to warn her about the gossip mill in the town since she hasn't left the entire year. What happens next.... you'll have to read and find out! It's a good one, I promise!
-what was the point of Kass and Asher pretending to date for Kass's sister's sake?
-The scenes that Kass is writing are very cringe
-"And, we act like we’re a couple the entire time, not just at the party or when we’re with your family. Can you agree to that too?” He is basically asking to be his girlfriend but it's still fake? What?
-if Kass is a best-selling romantacy author then why is her main FMC just seeming to be part of a billionaire series?
-why in chapter 27 does Cass all of a sudden lack confidence of deciding what she wants? The whole pick what time we're leaving just came out of nowhere. This didn't seem to be a character trait that had affected the decision making in her life before this point.
Final thoughts: This story had real potential but the author put too much work into trying to make two completely different but linear stories in one. I ended up having more questions of "what was the point of doing that" than anything else.
Small town romance Age gap Slow burn Fake dating Plus size FMC Spice
“How much can a simple knock on the door and the delivery of books change the stories of two people?”
You’ve got bookmail is told in two pov Kassandra and Asher. Kassandra is an self-published author who writes contemporary romance novels and Asher is a mailman. Besides their pov the book had some scenes from Kassandra’s romance novel, which was a unique addition.
The book was quite short and at the same time there was and wasn’t a lot happening. I wasn’t a fan of the insta love between FMC & MMC but I liked how they get to know each other and learned about each other’s history.
There weren’t that many supporting characters but the few added nicely to the story.
Overall super fast and easy read. I was hoping a bit more from the plot. The blurb was more interesting than the book itself.
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. Receiving ARC didn’t affect my opinion of the book.
Romance author Kassandra has hidden away from her new small town home. Asher is her mail man, and is pretty much the only person she talks to.
I liked the premise of this story, and the slow build of their relationship lets you get to know the characters.
I did not like the chunks of text from the book Kass was writing about Shar. I think it was supposed to show how Kass was changing as a person, reflected in the Shar character. But to be honest, all the extracts were mostly Shar lusting after and sleeping with any guy that caught her eye, and it felt more like a distraction from Kass's story more than explaining anything. (NB. It looks like Shar's story is actually published)
Asher and Kass both seemed to be hot and then cold with each other, seeing as they were not teenagers. It was frustrating for them not to talk to each other about what was going on between them.
- reverse age gap - romance author fmc - mail man mmc - misscommunication - fake dating
I will be honest. I was completely expecting a retelling spicier version of the Tom and Meg movie... so pleasantly surprised that was not the case!
Asher and Kass' romance plays a little on the miscommunication trope, but not so much that it is obnoxious, more in a realistic letting insecurities get in the way miscommunication.
I love the romantic gestures being simple but so big at the same time. Very believable romance storyline and leaves you a bit jealous if you don't already have this kind of relationship... lol
Overall a great read to curl up with a mug of hot tea and a blanket on a rainy day. Cannot wait to read more from Leya!
I loved seeing Kasandras growth and her gaining the confidence to be more like the characters she writes. I liked how Asher’s growth matched hers and he got out of a rut he had fallen into in his life. Great for anyone who loves a cinnamon roll main male character who acts more like an alpha in bed. 3 of 5 🌶️
I had the honor to read this book as an ARC; all my opinions are mine.
You've Got Bookmail is a quick read and I could not put it down. Asher and Kassandra's chemistry is absolute fire! I also loved the story within the story. I thought that idea was intriguing and also really unique.
Not my favorite book I’ve read. Felt a little like it was missing some things. Hard to get into the writing really and it felt maybe almost forced between the two main characters. Everything also felt a little rushed. I understood where the plot was trying to go just maybe wasn’t executed properly.
OMGoodness! This book was so amazing, but so frustrating at times. Just when I'd be getting into the story that the FMC was writing Asher would interrupt. Then I'd be getting into the main story but they wouldn't do what I wanted. LOL! However, they are electric and so sweet. I loved them.
