Tagore's works have always been a part of my life and I don't remember a time when I didn't know one of his songs or poems. As an adult, I looked for every translated book I could get my hand on because though I understand a lot of Bengali, the language of his works often use more complicated words I'm not used to. This book is one I've had for a while and I know I've read it in the past, but recently pulled it out again. My mom came downstairs to find me with tears streaming down my face and was amused to learn it was because I was had just finished reading I Won't Let You Go from this collection. Kobi Guru's writings are probably still the most pure in his native Bengali, but it's wonderful to read his English translations so his ideas do not get lost to a newer generation who have moved away from the home countries.
