Mary Cooper Mystery #3

Gross Sarcastic Homicide

Rate this book
Mary Cooper is back, and this time she's searching for a killer who seems to enjoy playing with his victims' minds as much as he does with their lives.

The book begins with the brutal slaying of a corporate executive under circumstances that can only be considered bizarre. Mary is hired to find out who killed him, and why.

Soon, she is caught up in the often lurid world of psychologists and therapists that has made Los Angeles famous.

Loved loved loved it! My only concern was that as the series progressed, Mary seemed to be drinking more . Is the job getting to her?! Anyway, such an enjoyable read. My only complaint is that there isn't a book 4. Yet. Hopefully that's a 'yet'. Hopefully Mr Amore will write a book 4!

Such a huge letdown for a trilogy that started as fresh and unique

"Gross Sarcastic Homicide" the third, and so far final, book in the Mary Cooper P.I. series, is an odd piece of work. It's more of a novella than a book, clocking in at 106 pages on my Ereader, and, just as it gets going, it comes to a sudden and completely contrived conclusion.
It's an aberration that I am putting down to (a) A deadline for another book loomed and it had to be got out of the way quickly, (b) Contractual obligation, as in it had to be written but Don Ames didn't want to write it, or (c) Dan Ames got bored. I can't be sure which it is.
When Mary was introduced in "Death By Sarcasm" she was a verbal juggernaut, spewing whatever thoughts came into her mind, but in this book she has calmed down a lot - a good thing.
This time round Mary is hired by a psychologist who wants her to find out who killed one of her patients. It's the first of several bizarre killings, all of them patients of the psychologist. With the assistance of her lover Det. Jake Cornell she discovers a disturbing plot ... and it is at the stage that the novella falls apart in a desperate race for the finish.
It's probably a 2 Star read but I really do like Mary Cooper, so 3 Stars it is.

Gross Sarcastic Dan Ames

P.I. Mary Cooper has a knack for catching unusual cases. A dead man wearing diapers, another one with a female in pigtails and a childs dress on. A few more bodies are piling up but nothing as bizarre as the first two. The connection? Money and drugs . Fast paced whodunnit.

I need more!!

I love mary and the gang....please consider writing more! Love the humor and especially Alice! I can picture the characters. You can't make me fall in love with them and then take them away.

Good book

Mary Cooper, a PI in L.A., is confronted with several very bizarre murders of former patients of a prominent Beverly Hills psychiatrist. As she hunts down the killer, she almost loses her own life in the process.

2 hour read.
A whimsical tale from the files of Mary Cooper, unusual Private investigator.
Someone is killing adults but dressing them as infants first.
Although Mary seems to bumble around she seems to get the job done, often finding leads before the police department can.

When I start a Dan Ames book I don't want to put it down. I usually read his books in 2 days. I love the John Rockne series, but the Mary Cooper book series is also becoming a favorite of mine.

The crimes were good but the ending was bad.

A better story than the last, not nearly as much action as the first. A middle-of-the-road read, for me.

Good buildup. Good suspense. But then the big finish is jammed into two short chapters. Too rushed.

I was giving this series somewhere between a 3 & 4 star rating but when the author messes up the name of one of the recurring characters it just goes down hill for me.

Very quick read. It was okay. I love the sarcasm aspect, but there could have been more to this story.
