"What I have learned from this book"--How can I ever begin to even broach the edge of such a vast depth?! I am currently falling in love again with Psalm 119 and am learning through it to love God's Word even more deeply. I've also just begin re-exploring the verses of Hosea, and am awakening to the thought of God as my Husband, and such a lovingly patient and mericful One at that!
The Bible itself was inspired by God, and is absolutely perfect. The more I read it, the more I am awed by its depth, its truth and its relevancy. We are blessed to be able to read it in the amazingly beautiful and accurate Authorized Version, one of the best translations of the Bible ever made. As far as this edition, the word study helps are very useful, and the crossreferences could hardly be improved. The footnotes are full of inaccuracies and rationalizations—I try to avoid reading them anymore. The introductions to the books are so-so.
The Hebrew-Greek Key Word Study Bible is one of the better Study Bibles out there. I love being able to look up words, and being able to do word studies without having to have a concordance, and Bible Dictionary right there.
I've often wondered what the original Greek and Hebrew translations of words in the Bible are. Before I got this Bible, I had to research for them online. This Bible has made my studies a lot easier. This Bible conveniently includes the concordance for Hebrew words in the Old Testament as well as the concordance for Greek words in the New Testament, giving both the original word and an explanation of meaning(s). Within the passages, a reference number is placed next to the word so you can easily look up its meaning.
Using this bible translation, you can look up the words in Greek and Hebrew, which adds to the richness of the meaning. English is very far removed from the original version, and Jesus spoke Aramaic. There are no words in English for some of the words in Aramaic.
