Although faithful to the series in many parts it does a good enough job at setting its own pace and keeps the story tight and interesting, even for those who are already familiar with the story. The charm and humour of the series are captured well throughout with perhaps the only real complaint being that a couple of the characters (Moxey in particular) don't get the attention or development that they received in the series. Overall though an enjoyable read, especially for fans of the series.

I’ve always been a big fan of the show, this was a nice read, practically the same as the show with slight plot changes to the show, and other details written down that are easily missed in the show

This starts out as a faithful renditioning of the TV series. However halfway through the author seems to realise he's running out of room and starts taking more shortcuts. Moxey is almost written out for the second half, even his prison record isn't mentioned, and Bomber's role is curtailed. That and the severe editing of the story spoils what had started as a very good read.

I have watched this program so many times over the years I can quote it and this book is basically the show in book form. Not to take anything away from the book but it just feels as if the writer is a super fan and wanted to celebrate his fandom but turning the script and show into a book. Well worth a days read, especially if you’re a fan.

Great stuff. Very well written and different enough from the series to make it worthwhile.

If you watched the acclaimed tv series, you've already read the book. Practically a verbatim account of the very funny scripts from the first series.
