It's Monday again, and for Abigail, Jacob, Zack, and Bo, that means it's time-travel Day! This week the kids can't believe their luck: They're going to meet Walt Disney!

But when they jump back to the past, they discover that Mr. Disney wants to quit instead of making the first animated movie with sound. Abigail and her friends can't let that happen: Without his first movie, there wouldn't be all those other awesome Walt Disney movies or a Disney Channel on TV! We've read Lincoln's Legacy and thought it was an interesting concept. We liked the characters and decided to read more in the series. We've actually had this book for a bit, but hadn't gotten around to reading it yet.

So when we surprised our girls with a four-day trip to Disney World, we brought the book along. It was a great way to introduce them to Walt Disney, the creator of Mickey Mouse and the fabulous resorts. We even made sure to go see "Walt Disney: One Man's Dream" at Magic Kingdom, so our girls could absorb more about the man and his story.

Overall, this was another entertaining story in the series and we are looking forward to reading Bell's Breakthrough next. The time travel is exciting and fun, but we learn a little bit about history as well as the people who made famous by their work.

Too repetitive to the first book.

My kids are Disney fans, so they enjoyed this fun blast to the past book in which the kids traveled back in time to help convince Walt Disney to not give up. Then, when we finished this book, they wanted to learn more about the real Walt Disney, so we read a biography of him that they enjoyed even more.

Blast to the Past is a fun time travel series for middle elementary ages. In this adventure the children travel back to meet Walt Disney just before his first big success.
