Good reminders for us solo female travelers, but lots of elements are quite outdated at this point (Internet cafes, traveler's checks, etc.). The writing also hopped all over the place and the structure sometimes seemed unconnected within each chapter.

This had some useful bits but also seemed excessively paranoid. And hilarious at points -- I loved the suggestion to always pack a formal evening gown and heels just in case an ambassador invites you to dinner. Who are these people? Seriously?

Bullet point style gets hard to focus on after a few chapters but does make it easier to read in small bits. The information is out of date but has some good common sense reminders. Worth reading but in need of a thorough update.
