In the spirit of Christmas, I’ll start on a more positive note! I loved the Mistletoe Lodge series - such feel good, cozy Christmas love stories. I read the first two books last Christmas and couldn’t wait to read the final book this year. Fast forward… would’ve been happier ending on book two.
Reunion at the Mistletoe Lodge follows a mom that’s apparently connected with a character from prior books and that’s why she’s relevant for this story? Barb has a significant backstory and the book started what felt like half way through “her story”. I genuinely thought I was forgetting about a main storyline or set of characters from the other books because the author made it seem like I should know who Barb is, know who her husband is, and all of the “baggage” that they’ve been through with the FBI. Barb makes her way to the Mistletoe Lodge and again has relationships with all of the main characters from prior books, but there’s backstory and context missing that the other books didn’t have. Ultimately I think the author tried to do something different with book 3 and it didn’t land. This didn’t need to be a “mystery” book. It didn’t need to have so many irrelevant characters. And don’t even get me started on why there was a need to have so many things going on in a 300ish page book!
Great book, recommend it to anyone who loves a little mystery with the romance. The book starts out with the h returning from Africa after working there for several years. She was hiding from her uncle who was seeking to kill her. While in Africa she and the FBI agent who was with her for her protection fell in love and were married. After several months together the H now her husband went back to the US. When she called him she couldn’t connect with him. She tried to reach him to let him know that she was pregnant. After she had the baby she tried calling him again to tell she had the baby, a girl. Still no answer. When she is returning home with her son and baby daughter her friends told her that she could stay at their lodge with out charge. She tells them that she will help with the work involved with putting on the festivities that are part of the big Christmas festival put on by the town. When she arrives she notices a limousine pulling into the lodge and park by a cabin near the cabin she and her children are in. She finds out it is her husband and his twin brother with a lady she saw in a picture on social media. She believes that her husband has been unfaithful. When her husband comes to her and tells her to stay away from their cabin and his brother he claims to be her brother-in-law. She knows immediately that he is lying that he is indeed her husband. The h proceeds to care for her baby and 8 year old son and also help in preparing and putting on the festivities at the lodge. After several days as her brother-in-law is regaining his memory after almost a year her husband explains why all the charade and then asks her if she has a particular item which her brother-in-law believes she has, when she confirms that she has the item she turns it over. He husband begs for forgiveness and tries to make up for what he did believing that he had no other choice she says no, she is proceeding with the divorce. He tells her he will not sign it. In the end they begin to heal their relationship and then their son is kidnapped. The husband tracks the responsible people down and helps with their capture. In the end they get their HEA. This book really draws you in and you find yourself along with the h wondering why the H is pretending to be his brother and when that secret is known rooting for their relationship to heal. Then as they are working on their relationship their son is kidnapped and the H tracks down the guilty parties and helps arrest them. In the end they get their HEA. There is a lot of mystery in the story that keeps you interested. Hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I did. It kept me reading late in to the night. ENJOY!

Heartwarming Romance Meets Gripping Mystery in Amy Rafferty's 'Reunion at Mistletoe Lodge'
Amy Rafferty has done it again with "Reunion at Mistletoe Lodge," the third book in the Sweet Colorado Romance series. As a fan of Rafferty’s books, I’ve always appreciated her ability to seamlessly blend romance and mystery, and this novel is no exception.
The story follows Barb Gardener, who has been hiding in Africa with her son Oscar, working on a Clean Water project while escaping her criminal uncle. FBI agent Zac Shields, once blamed for her husband's death, reenters Barb's life, and a complex relationship begins to unfold. After a year apart, they are unexpectedly reunited at Mistletoe Lodge, along with some unexpected twists involving Zac's twin brother, Liam.
What I love about this book is Rafferty’s knack for building suspense while keeping the emotional core intact. The characters are deeply relatable, and the storyline has just the right mix of heartwarming family moments and gripping tension. It’s a satisfying read, with plenty of surprises, heartfelt reunions, and the festive charm that makes it perfect for the holiday season.
If you enjoy romance with a bit of mystery and emotional depth, "Reunion at Mistletoe Lodge" is a great addition to the series.
I love all things Amy Rafferty and this does not disappoint, this is book three in The Sweet Colorado Romance series. Barb Gardner has been working in Africa for two years, working on a clean water project; with Heather and Giles Holland. Barb's first husband Treavor was killed in the line of duty with the FBI. FBI agent Zac Shields, is assigned to protect her while in Africa. After two months of being married, Zac is called back to the United States for a new assignment. Barb does not hear from Zac again. She was pregnant, and delivered a baby without him; in Africa. Barb goes back home with her son Oscar, and baby Charlotte. She runs into Liam, Zac's twin brother; whom she believes is "Zac." "Liam" tells her to stay away from them, he says "Zac" has amnesia from ten years ago, and doesn't remember them. Who is who? Is Zac ok, or does she divorce him? Love the plot, great setting, and strong intense interesting characters. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Amy Rafferty!!!
Reunion at Mistletoe Lodge is the intriguing romance and marriage between Barb, in witness protection and working on the African continent, and Zac, an FBI agent, who were married in Africa in the presence of their son Oscar. Zac leaves Africa several weeks later and Barb loses all contact with him believing she has been ghosted. Planning to divorce her husband, Barb returns to Mistletoe Lodge for the Christmas holidays with her new daughter, Charlotte, and Oscar only to find Zac and his identical twin brother, Liam, residing at the lodge. This excellent book has well developed characters, mystery, strong emotions, mistaken identities, misunderstandings, and plot twists upon twists. I highly recommend this well written book by Amy Rafferty. I received a copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review
Barb is finally on her way back to Mistletoe Lodge with her son Oscar and Baby Charlotte. She is looking forward to a site Christmas after spending two years in Africa. There is so much she needs to do and heading the list is divorcing her husband Zac who disappeared on her shortly after their wedding. As she is settling into her bungalow she sees Zac, but he claims he is Liam, Zac's identical twin. Angry and frustrated, Barb can't believe Liam, Zac, and a woman are also staying at he Lodge. Barb isn't sure what to think or how to feel. She learns that one of the twins was shot and now has amnesia, but what is the full mystery. Can Barb forgive Zac for leaving her and not contacting her? Can they start over or will the danger that got one brother shot reappear?
As the book opens Barb was preparing for her wedding to Zac. When he leaves for FBI work, Barb never hears from him again, despite messages about an impending pregnancy and the birth of her daughter.
She head to the Mistletoe Lodge in Colorado, and surprisingly, Zac and his brother Liam are there, claiming Zac has been shot and lost his memories. Mix in criminal relatives, and a little jealousy, plus a handsome doctor and the story is sure to be entertaining.
Barb cares for the children and of course their paths cross. Is Liam pretending to be Zac, or is Zac pretending to be Liam.
Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion
Barb has just returned to the states & The Mistletoe Lodge with her children. She has a broken heart bc she’s left multiple messages for Zac over the last year but never hears from him or his family. Her husband Zac has been mia for a year. To her surprise they run into each other at the lodge. His twin Liam has been shot and lost his memory or is it Zac? Their son Oscar is the sweetest kid. Lots of mystery surrounding who’s who and who did what. Will Barb be able to get the answers she needs to trust Zac again? Will they get divorced or fall deeper in love?
After knowing each other for awhile in Africa, Barb and Zac were married. Not long after he left and ghosted Barb. Now, Barb has come to Mistletoe Lodge for Christmas with her kids and promptly runs into Zac. This book is full of secrets, most of them being kept from Barb. Loved that her friends had Barb’s back. The books grabs you from the first and has a hold on the reader to the end. A great story written by Amy Rafferty. I enjoyed it very much.
Book 3. This is a romantic suspense with betrayal, abandonment, lies & terrible hurt. There’s so much evil about, and family needs protecting from their own family! Yes it’s complicated, but eventually heartwarming. It’s called Reunion, so stay hopeful as you read. There’s a lot of trauma along the way! To love is always the best. Read the series in order. I received an Advanced Reader Copy from the author. I am writing a voluntary, honest review.
Wow, this book will test your memory and make you question what you think you know. You’ll soon realize that you don’t know who to trust and become suspicious of everyone. The Zac/Liam situation is only the tip of the iceberg/deceptions. This might be one of the best books of Amy Rafferty’s series. If you’re not confused by the middle of the book, then you haven’t been paying attention. I loved Barb and Zac’s story, and I fell in love with Oscar. What on earth will she have for us next?
A fast paced drama quite different to the previous two books in the series. It is lovely to touch base with the previous couples in the magical place that is Mistletoe Lodge. A guaranteed page turned with the twists and turns of a sled ride this book captures the reader and draws them into the drama as it unfolds. This series has abetted my appetite and I look forward to downloading another of her series. Thank you Amy !
I’ve had issues in this whole series with lack of proofreading. Misspelled words, wrong names used, and this book had the added bonus of words missing the last letter (ex. On instead of one or car instead of card). The word “as” is used entire to much. The first book was cute and cozy, the 2nd book was readable but this one was pointless. The “mystery” in the book is so rushed and with all the errors too, this book would have just been better left out.
Once again mistletoe Lodge has brought two people together. Barb and Zac have a relationship full of hurt, betrayal, and lies. They overcome all of this and build their relationship for their family. Such an endearing book.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Brab Gardener ‘s marriage to Zac Shields was an unforgettable experience in Africa. But things began to go wrong after that and she felt betrayed . There is a mystery going on in their lives which becomes dangerous. An intriguing read with an edge of the seat finish. I received this ARC copy and leave a honest review. I recommend this book to other readers.
Book 3, end of series. The author writes very strong drama, mystery and supense storylines. There seems to be a second chance for this couple when they meet up again after some time, but it is not an easy reunion. It is faced with compications and secrets, covering lies, deceit, hurt, betrayal. Can Mistletoe Lodge live up to its romantic notion, under this Christmas backdrop.
This is a fantastic romantic suspense story. It had me on the edge of my seat and tugged at my heartstrings. The mystery was intriguing and kept the pages turning. I couldn't put it down. The characters were strong, intense and interesting. Wonderful writing and a completely entertaining read like all the books in the Sweet Colorado series.
This book could be read as a stand alone, but the author create's a world that the reader's want to spend time in, so the reader will go back to read the other's anyway. This is a fast, fun, festive read that really gets the reader into the holiday spirit! Add this and her others to your TBR list - you won't be sorry!
If you read the previous review of this series, you will know this is book 2. I forgot to put that this is a VERY GOOD SERIES to Read. Again too many things going on and one of things is the Christmas Festival that actually started in Book 1. It is on again in this book. a couple of weddings in this book too.
Reunion at Mistletoe Lodge: it was a intense but sweet story of different families! Barb was hurt because Zac disappeared with out an explanation! The she see him again. It was a good story!
This was a awesome story about Barb and others and mystery about Liam and Zac with lots of suspense and action and drama. Thank you for this great book.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. A book full of intrigue and suspense. I love the holiday setting and activities. Definitely recommend.
I enjoyed all three books in this series and look forward to reading more from this author. I will definitely recommend this series to friends and family.
So good! It was a clean mystery-romance novel and another hallmark movie in a book! Although, this one had my jaw drop a few times. It wasn’t as predictable as the movies. Loved the series!
