This is the first in Alistair McIntyre's new thriller series starring former Marine Brendan Rhodes. Brendan returns to his hometown of Shallow Creek, finding it ravaged by drugs. A restless Brendan dives in, trying to fix the problem, only to find himself quickly in over his head. Like any good thriller, Shallow Creek moves briskly, provides plenty of twists and action, and hits the hero where it really hurts. If you want a good read (pun intended) check this book out, along with the upcoming sequel.
As the author, I think anyone who likes the same stuff I like will enjoy this story. There's drama, there's weird relationship issues, and then there's a large helping of fighting and pickup trucks crashing into each other.
Wow. This was a book and a half. Action packed thriller all the way. Loved it.such fun to share the journey of the main character, ex marine as he tries to save his town and his tumultuous person life. Thoroughly recommend this action book to one and all.
This was a fun read with a flawed hero. Brendan's choices aren't always easy to accept, but knowing he is trying to do the right thing makes for an interesting dichotomy.
I enjoyed reading this story very much. It wasn't real long, but the author picked a pace and stuck with it which kept me interested and not wanting to skim pages. I really liked the small details that add to the story giving the characters and environment more life than leaving them bland like many other books do with the main characters. I'm equally interested to see where this story might go if there is a sequel.
