About the author

Carole King is an American singer, songwriter, and pianist. She was most active as a singer during the first half of the 1970s, though she was a successful songwriter for considerably longer both before and after this period.

King has won four Grammy Awards and has been inducted into both the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for her songwriting, along with long-time partner Gerry Goffin.

Truly one of the best and most personal collection of songs recorded in the 1970s. This album yielded 6 hit singles and dominated AM radio airplay through the decade. A brilliant coming out party for a songwriter who was truly exceptional, but never with the fanfare until this solo effort as the singer-songwriter.

I've learned a lot about her and her interesting and different life. I like the stories she tells, but sometimes there is an over abundance of technical information that I end up skimming over. Someone who has a keen interest in the world of making music would probably be interested by these details, but for me, not so much.
