D.D. Lorenzo has written the perfect follow-up to Positive/Negativity! I was anxious to learn the rest of Declan and Aria's story. D.D did NOT disappoint. I like how each character learns to grow stronger individually before they're ready to grow together. I won't give too much away, but I will say that D.D. has also created one of the most vile characters I've yet to meet. (And for me, that's saying something) I try my best to find redeeming qualities in characters, even ones who are perhaps misunderstood. There is a character in Selective/Memory who is totally devoid of any redeeming qualities. I won't tell you what happened...but let me say, I was holding my breath! If you love twists and turns, great characters, and a deep moving story line...Selective/Memory is for you!
Declan and Aria’s story picks up where book 1 left off. I don’t want to give too much away in case you have not read book 1. Declan and Aria continue to struggle with the adversity that they have been given. Everyone’s lives, including their own, seem to be falling apart and life continues to put obstacles in front of them that may be too difficult for either one off them to face together. Though I thought that she had done plenty in book 1, Marisol definitely steps up her game and is hell bent on destroying all of those that feels have made a mockery of her. Book 2 hooks you in immediately and keeps you that way until the very end. There were several breathless and OMG moments in this one. Bravo D.D. I cannot wait to read Carter’s story next.
4.5 Star Review Selective Memory (The Depth Of Emotion #2) by D.D.Lorenzo Wow, what an emotional roller coaster of a read. This is the follow up to Positive/Negativity and was an emotionally gripping story to read. This is a hard review to write as I do not want to spoil the story for anyone who may read this review. I will say that this is one of those stories that will stay will you after you have finished it. I enjoy Ms. Lorenzo’s writing style and found her characters to be well written and developed. There was so much turmoil and angst reading Declan and Aria’s story that I didn’t want to put it down. I was riveted with Selective Memory from start to finish and happily recommend this book.

This review covers both parts of Aria & Declan's story. To be blunt, this doesn't live up to the high reviews. I was disappointed in the execution and what I consider a failure on the part of the writer to deliver on her own plot. The story felt disconnected to me from beginning to end, a problem exacerbated by the narrative style of telling a story rather than showing. Shifting perspectives were a further complication. Most of the story unfolded in first-person - more from Declan's POV than Aria's. That was a big enough strike against for me - but then at random intervals a secondary character's third-person perspective was included. This felt clunky and unnatural and the excessively flowery prose further throttled the flow. In addition, the inclusion of several detailed flashbacks to recent occurrences were quite jarring and so out of place. They should have been integrated into the scenes in which they pertained or better yet, left out. To me, these italicised bits were afterthoughts, as though the writer went, 'Oops, forgot to add that,' and then found a place to wedge in the flashback. So unnecessary. The storytelling was quite awkward. If an editor was involved here they should be fired. At one point in Aria's POV the perspective suddenly went from first to third and the tense had a tendency to shift at random from past to present and back. There were missed words and words used improperly as well. Stumbling over these issues while navigating an uneven plot isn't quite the seamless and satisfying experience I seek when I choose a book. Then there were the characters. Despite the overdone descriptive style, oddly enough there was little about Declan's physical appearance. However, as a native Scot I recognise he was fashioned after British supermodel David Gandy. The writer just altered him to an American with (ugh) brown eyes. Most non-Brits aren't familiar with Gandy, but let me stress that replacing that man's beautiful, crystal blue irises with brown is truly an insult. What. The. Hell. As a long-time admirer of this ruggedly gorgeous lad, I feel his piercing blue stare is one of those things in life that should not be f*cked with, not even for a fictional character. Anyway...neither Declan nor Aria were well-developed and I found it an impossibility to connect to them. Perhaps the character that was developed the best was also the most clichéd caricature of a villainess I have ever encountered in a CR...and that ain't right, folks. However, the biggest disappointment by far was the execution of the story itself. Prior to reading I'd learned a few things that made the choice irresistible, but the reality was unfortunately a letdown. Part 1 ends on a cliffhanger after a huge twist that set this story up to be brilliant. I had to see it unfold, so didn't hesitate to purchase part 2 - but wow, do I wish I hadn't wasted my time. The story picks up MONTHS afterward. The fallout of the twist and all the events leading up to the continuation were skipped over, and that was where I stopped caring. Given the fact that the writer had already demonstrated a tendency to skip over seminal moments I should have known they weren't up to the challenge of the one in question. But instead of using it to deepen the connection between the characters as well as the readers to the story, most of that time period was left out. That left the reader to sort through fragments of information dropped here and there to piece together what happened and why the MC's were no longer together. Incidentally, they were apart through all but the last pages of the book. The opportunities to make this entire story an emotional, standout read were avoided in favour of protracted sex scenes and the obsession of a villainess, and even the way she was dealt with was anticlimactic.
It goes without saying that this duet was an epic miss for my tastes, certainly a minority opinion. But I've never cared about being among the few voices of dissent. I'm a discerning, experienced reader and at least my reviews are honest. I went into this with high expectations based in part on the reviews, which are largely misleading. My frustration at reoeatedly encountering this same issue knows no bounds at this point, and gives me little hope that the quality of the genre will improve. Clearly, I won't be continuing this series. I won't be chancing further work by the writer, either. There is so much potential there, but I can't get behind someone who takes the easy way out rather than properly execute the plot they set in motion.
Disclaimer: I received this novel from the author for review.
**This review is for the second instalment of the Depth of Emotion series; beware of *SPOILERS*.
ANGER. HATE. LOVE. COMPASSION. JEALOUSY. PANIC. Prominent emotions that engulfed and swirled within the characters in Positive/Negativity, which were revisited and further intensified within Selective/Memory, the second instalment in the Depth of Emotion series. In Positive/Negativity, we fall in love with Aria and Declan only to have our hearts ripped out and stepped on at it’s conclusion, when the two are torn apart.
In Selective/Memory, readers are thrown into the waves of emotions that threaten to suffocate our dear beloved characters thanks to the sadistic, manipulative, *insert B-word here*, Marisol. Together, we dive through the waves, endure the pain, and fight through the struggle with Declan and Aria as they do everything they can to regain control of their emotions.
The Characters: In Selective/Memory, we see a very dark side of Declan; a man, both tortured and vulnerable. His emotions are raw, and I couldn’t help but feel sympathetic towards him, even though I didn’t want to initially. There were many times where I wish I could have slapped or yelled at him myself for letting things get to a point where I sincerely believed there was a good chance he and Aria may never BE again…
Although Aria was shattered by the events that occurred in Positive/Negativity, she refused to let it define her and hold her back from the opportunities ahead in her future. I admire Aria for this. She took her time to let her emotions flow and take over, but then she made up her mind that she’d move forward—with or without Declan…
Both Carter, Declan’s brother, and Aria’s mother stepped up and became very important characters that would help mold the paths for Declan and Aria. I enjoyed that we got a solid glimpse of who the characters were through alternating point of views. Carter experienced a very traumatic and tragic event in Positive/Negativity and I believe there’s more to him than what was revealed in the series so far. I look forward to learning more of this character in upcoming instalments.
Then there was Marisol…this woman—THIS MONSTER—made me curse out every swear word I could think of (in three different languages). Having read through her character’s POV throughout several chapters of Selective/Memory made me feel a little psychotic—even tainted—with each chapter she narrated. She made no attempt to conceal the hatred, selfishness, and jealousy she held within (except in front of Declan). Worse, she felt she had every right to do the things she did, without feeling any remorse.
Elements That I Appreciated: The effort D.D. Lorenzo put into these two instalments, every detail—subtle or not—was what I appreciated most. Simple things like naming the chapter titles in Positive/Negativity with different emotions and Selective/Memory with components of memory to not disclosing what exactly happened to Declan’s leg, or having readers second guess the events that led to the accident was genius. I especially appreciated that D.D. Lorenzo didn’t disclose whether Declan’s leg was in fact amputated or whether it was simply mangled, leaving it to the imagination of her readers.
D.D. Lorenzo was able to capture the various emotions and deliver them through her writing flawlessly. There were many instances where I had to reach for a box of tissues or share my anger for Marisol with the author. I was especially effected by the instances where a memory of a loved one was shared through the eyes of Aria, given the recent passing of one of my family members. It was one of the many ways I was able to easily relate to Aria and truly understand her as a person/character.
Recommendation: Emotional. Heart-wrenching. Suspenseful. Edgy. I definitely recommend Selective/Memory for those who enjoy experiencing an emotional ride with engaging characters and a story with incredible depth.
5/5 – MUST READ, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! **Please Note: Although I was the co-editor for Selective/Memory, this review is my honest opinion.**
Selective memory is book # 2 in the Depth of Emotion Series by D.D. Lorenzo.
I read the first book in this series Positive Negativity and I will be honest I wasn't exactly a fan, I didn't post a full review but put a comment on Goodreads saying that I had found the book very frustrating and would complete the review at a later date when I had calmed down lol.
I was a little shocked and fairly scared when I was then contacted by DD to ask why I didn't like her book!!! As you can imagine I was very apprehensive about being too honest especially directly to the author.
On this occasion I really needn't have worried DD was the most gracious and lovely lady ever and was genuinely interesting in my opinion and criticisms.
She asked me to be brutally honest and I was lol, she then asked me if she gifted me a copy of the second book in the series if I would be prepared to read it as she would be genuinely interested in what I thought.
Well DD you were right I really did enjoy this second instalment!
Book #2 picks up a couple of months after the end of the first book, Aria and Declan have split up and Marisol is taking advantage of Declan's memory loss to try and worm her way into Declan's life.
Declan is a complete asshole for the first half of the book and although I disliked him I could completely understand his behaviour.
I like how strong Aria seems in this book she embraces her anger and I loved that she got all irate with Declan because hell that man needed a kick up the ass.
I do still have some issues about this book thought!!....., it's incredibly overly sentimental every emotion is written about, spoken about or discussed and it's simply a personal preference that I like to have a bit more aloofness about characters.
There's only one sex scene in this book but it is a hot one lol.
I have to say the absolute hands down best thing about this book is Marisol!!!!
DD you are an evil genius when it comes to a baddie!! Marisol is absolutely terrifying she's a delusional psychopath and I LOVE her. I found myself really looking forward to her characters POV's for me she was the shining star in this story and what really sets this book apart from other contemporary romance novels.
Selective Memory had me tense and on the edge of my seat, we all know something's going to happen but I honestly had no idea how the drama would manifest itself.
Personally I think Aria should have made Declan work abit harder but hey their in love lol.
This book has a HEA and it leads nicely into Carters book which will be book #3.
DD after book #1 I was a self confessed doubter, with book #2 Selective Memory you have converted me to a fan I'm looking forward to book 3 when it releases.
The Story This story is a very gripping tale of what happens when two people love each other so much it hurts, bad. They believe that know what is best for each other and attempt to go about life trying to live by that belief.
After an unfortunate event took place in the first story, we pick back up with the two main characters, hope that there is a possibility things will get better, but they do the exact opposite.
How do you know when to stop yourself? To stop for thinking about him/her? To stop turning to drink and other things to cope? How do you know when to say sorry? Watch our two favourite characters battle with friends, family, themselves and each other to try and answer these questions. As they come to terms with the place they are in, they have to decide if they are happy being apart.
Ultimately they must answer: Can they live without each other?
What I Thought
I feel as though I've been on a whirlwind of adventure! Our two favourite characters battle throughout the story, in both love and hate. They work so hard to try and come to terms with the accident, in their own ways. Soon, they learn that they must travel this path on their own, but They soon find that can't really cope alone.
I love that the two are so madly in love that they get caught in the same trap we often find ourselves in: We think we know what is best, We do said thing, We try to stick to it, We hurt the one we love, We hurt ourselves. Reading through the turmoil and love wrapped into this story had me in a mix of emotions. I was angry one minute and blubbering the next. It was great to really be able to get emerged in their story, as if it were my own.
The writing style in this book is better. It is detailed, but not overly wordy and it really shows the emotion. I felt that the pace and depth of emotion and character were brilliant. The story kept moving quick enough that you were able to feel yourself going through the emotions, rather than just reading the details about them. The characters had a huge level of depth, and that was entirely needed for this book. With the number of emotions we went through and the strength of those emotions, we needed to know our characters more, to be able to feel as though we know enough about them to be their best mate. D.D Lorenzo has done this to perfection, without bogging down the story.
I would, honestly, say that this is a fantastic read. It does have heavy emotion and situations, so best left to adults and be prepared when you open the cover, you will get hooked and emotional. I would highly recommend you grab this read.
I, for one, am counting the days until I open the cover of the third book.
Book 2 in the Depth of Emotion series - this is the continuation of Declan and Aria's story and must be read after book 1 Positive/Negative.
Well I have to say, after finishing book 1 I knew that this book was going to be a must read. Book 1 really reached a crescendo and left you wondering whether Declan and Aria would find their way back to each other or whether Marisol had caused a divide that was just to wide.
This book pretty much continues on from the end of book. Aria is struggling to pick herself up from the devastation of not just watching the love of her life mowed down but losing his heart. Declan is also struggling with the limitations of his injuries and his lack of memories that led up to his life changing accident. His career as a model supposedly crushed, he now spends his time working fiercely at the studio and drinking heavily; his life has turned into a carousel of lost love and bitterness.
Will our couple finally rediscover their lost love? forgive each other for the hurt they have caused each other and for words that should never have said? Or will Marisol finally have spread her poison so deeply that they are destined to continue their lives apart.
D.D has really cranked this book right up. I really enjoyed book 1, but although very atmospheric and sometimes poetic it tended to be a little wordy. This book isn't, the atmospheric feel is still there and D.D's beautifully expressive phrasing, but it is a lot more to the point, more action and less unnecessary words. You feel the book building as each chapter passes and you are waiting for Marisol to strike, for Declan to wake up and for Aria to fight for love.
I said it before in my previous review and feel I need to mention it again. The character that D.D has created in Marisol is utterly fantastic. The woman is evil personified and the depths of her depravity are shocking. I HATE her, but am equally in awe of D.D's characterisation of such despicable adversary to both H/h.
So what's next? Well that would be Carter's book. You certainly start to learn more about him in this book. It has left me in a real tizz waiting to see how he rebuilds his life after the death/murder of his childhood sweetheart and adored wife.
Well done D.D on an very enjoyable rollercoaster ride. Depth of Emotion is certainly a fantastic name for your series as it certainly draws out each and everyone.
This is the continuing story of Declan and Aria....
Declan and Aria's relationship is no more and Marisol couldn't be happier about it. Due to the accident Declan believes that Aria deserves better than his crippled self and thanks to Marisol's influence believes that the accident is partly her fault. Aria is shattered and not even a little bit but breakdown size. She can't believe what has happened to them but decides not to wallow anymore and move on but how can she when her heart, body, and soul belong to Declan? Marisol has got the two "lovebirds" right where she wants them. Apart. She will do anything to keep them apart and so far she's succeeding. Will Declan and Aria be able to get past Marisol's manipulations and out of their own ways to be together?
My review...
This is a new review after I did a serious epic fail. I did like this book better than the first one. Declan was understandably angrier in this book, but when he should be bringing in the people who love him closer he is pushing them away. Especially Aria and I really wanted to put my foot up his butt a little because I was so irritated with him, but wanted to hug him as well. Aria did what she needed to do. She showed the strong woman that she is and I like that.
I loved the way that D.D. developed Marisol's character. She wasn't just a clearly jealous woman, she was clearly delusional and for me made her character even more hateable. There's a few twists that I liked with her, but I'm not going to tell you.
I truly enjoyed this book and I look forward to the brother's story. I think that will be fun. This book will get 4.5 stars from me. The story flowed better and was not as nearly stiff as the first one. T I think this series is great and look forward to future books from this author.
Selective/Memory by D.D. Lorenzo was a perfectly written and emotionally charged story. I have to admit that I didn't read the first book, but saying that I still felt so much for these characters and the tragedy that they experienced. The story was easy to fall in love with and I couldn't help but want to reach out into the pages and make all their pain go away. A wonderful story about love, loss, and devotion.
The book starts off with Declan and Aria pretty much both heartbroken. Declan has pushed Aria away for what seems to be the last time. On the outside they look perfectly normal, but in the inside they are both an emotional wreck. It has taken a lot out of the both of them and even their friends have a hard time recognizing them as the happy and serene people they were when they were together. Throwing salt on the wound Marisol is still as evil and delusional as ever. She is still determined in fooling Declan to believe that he never had feelings for Aria but instead for her. Will Marisol succeed in fooling Declan? Or will the true love he feels for Aria prevail?
The first half of the book is quite the emotional ride. We go back and forth between Declan and Aria as they both try to gain control of their emotions. It is sad and a little hard to see what they are going through. The road to happiness isn't going to be easy for these two. With the help of their family and friends they come to realize that there are some thing that you can't ignore. What is best may not be right, but their love is definitely stronger than anything that is thrown at them.
This book is one very emotional ride! One that you surely you will not want to miss. I recommend reading the first book Positive/Negativity to see where their story began. I look forward to reading more from this author and am interested to see where these other characters stories lead us.
The first book in this series sets the tone for the love and the evil that doesn't fade in book 2!! There is just as much in this book...if not more! We pick up where the first book ends... For most of the story the two main characters, Declan and Aria struggle to get back to where they once were. Declan is a bit of an ass but gets over himself eventually and Aria being the kickass female that she is doesn't take his shit! Evil may have triumphed a wee bit in book one....but will not in this one! I loved the way the story played out...it was very intense!!! There was also an underlying story about Declan's brother that I really want to know more about!! Ms. Lorenzo has successfully hooked me into this series...I would definitely read more stories by her. 5/5 stars from me!

I read the first book and 3* it because I felt it was just too wordy and a bit all over the place. The author contacted me, which was a surprise, and we had a chat about the things I didn't like and she sent me the second book (this book) and asked that I review it honestly.
I have to say, hand on heart, that this is a much better written book. Although the word count is still high, I felt like every word need to be there to tell the story. The author has cut the inane descriptive nonsense out and has told a story that you seriously should read. You will have to read book 1 to see how the story started, but trust me, you'll be glad you did when you get to read this book.
There's no doubt in my mind that the author has a very detailed thought process and knew from the beginning, exactly where this story was going. Her character development was realistic and also well thought out. I felt I knew both Declan and Aria. I must admit, Declan was a facepalmer for a large part of this book and really needed a good kick up the arse!
The best character in the whole book has got to be Marisol. She was manipulative. She was cold and calculating. She would rot in hell but the Devil has filed a restraining order!
DD, thank you for the gift of this book and I look forward to reading more of your work in the future. I also want to say thank you for being so generous in spirit over my 3* review of book 1. You get the full house on this book and every star has been earned!
so if you've read Positive/negativity you will know it ends with one hell of a cliffhanger, thankfully I had book 2 selective/memory at hand because that cliffhanger would have drove me bat shit crazy if I had to wait on the next book(I freaking hate cliffhangers)in book 1 we mett Declan and aria a true case of oppisites attract, there story was never sunshine and rainbows infact it was intense, intriguing and of coure there was an evil mad women sitting in the sidelines waiting to rip them apart, and rip them apart she did,I have to give marisol credit when it comes to characters I want to beat with a shovel and pour salt on there open wounds, she tops that list and believe me when I say there's some great characters on that list.
In book 2 we find Declan and aria completely shattered and shells of there former selves,I felt that aria stood out more in this book she seemed to become so much stronger and Declan oh I loved the angrier moodier side of him.so will Declan and aria find there way back to each other, well I don't give away spoilers so you need to go buy the book and find out,
I absolutely loved this book and can't wait to see what D.D LORENZO comes up with next
I was provide a copy of the book by the Author for an honest review.
OH WOW, WOW, I just finish reading this book, and I have to say I love it, I have to admit I am still reading the first book, but I had to do my review for the blog tour, so when I finish with this review ill go back to the first book, I love this book love the characters, I love the twists and turns, that this book have, this book had me seating down at the edge of my bed, had me wondering what's gone happened next, we pick up with Declan and Aria attempting to rebuild their lives. Than we have Marisol and you have the twists, turns and will leave you speechless. we get to see the physical and mental pain of Declan's recovery, and the heartache of Aria's struggle to move on, and the psychotic lengths that Marisol will go through to achieve her ultimate goal. and than when you think that you have read everything you get a surprise throw at you, I really love and enjoy reading this book, Author D.D. Lorenzo THANK YOU for this amazing characters and this awesome book love it.
I enjoyed the second book better than the first. There is still a lot of fluff but it was seemingly less in this book. Declan has really grown on me. Aria is still as strong as ever. Carter well all I can say is I feel for this man. With no answers and so many questions I don't know if I can handle it as well as him. I like that there was a storyline in this book that makes you need to find out what is going to happen. I think this series can only get better as it goes.
Aria and declan are now separated by this accident. No one knows how to move on. Aria still blames herself and that is what takes control of this story. The rebuilding of relationships. This includes declans and carters, aria and declans, and declan and Jeannie. Now don't forget Marisol trying to plant herself right in the middle of everything. There is definetly a suspense in here that you will need to find out what happens.
I can't wait for the third installment of this book. I really need to know what happens to carter.
HOLY SHEEEEEP!!!! Positive/Negativity ended in a huge, major... do you hear me HUGE cliffy!!! omg... and the tragedy is soooooo heartbreaking...
How two people that are destined to be together can hurt each and go through their own hells to try and get back on course with destiny... I mean.. hold your breath... and get your tissues ready... and wine.. or at least tequila...
And the Evilness that is Marisol... and the twists and mother effen plot she has against them.. and how she brings that poison to life...
i just held my breath and prayed... and willed the inevitable ugliness not to happen.. but it did... and OMG.. you wonder, how will there ever be and HEA???
But Ms. D.D. wouldn't hurt to kill your heart... she only squeezes it enough that it is painful, but that's only so you can feel the beautiful that is LOVE... Declan and Aria..... wow!
I fell in love with Declan and Aria in Positive/Negativity and was left anxiously awaiting the follow up to see how their story continued. Ms. Lorenzo did not disappoint! Reading Selective/Memory definitely took me to the depths of my emotions. All the characters return and we pick up with Declan and Aria attempting to rebuild their lives. Enter, my now all time hated villain, Marisol and you have a storyline that twists, turns and will leave you speechless. This powerful follow up will take you through the physical and mental pain of Declan's recovery; the heartache of Aria's struggle to move on; and the psychotic lengths that Marisol will go through to achieve her ultimate goal. Throw in a few extra surprises and you will not regret reading this! I highly recommend this series. Extremely well done D.D. Lorenzo! Excellent!

This book was very good. It was much better than the first in the series. The characters were richer, more vibrant, and more interesting. The supporting characters really stepped up in this one and found their voice. Aria's mother, Declan's brother, and their mutual friends really gave the story heart. I found myself much more drawn to the drama and tragedy that was revolving around Aria and Declan.
Marisol was a great villain-you love to hate her. The story became riveting once Marisol's true nature really showed itself. It was fascinating to watch how obsession drove her to amazing lengths. Once things started rolling I couldn't put the book down.
If you love action, this book is for you. Romance is still there but I think the real excitement was with all the secrets, drama, tragedy, and intrigue that was going on. I can't wait to read the next one.
What an emotional roller coaster. I so loved reading on how the relationship between Declan and Aria continues to grow.
I want to write this without any spoilers, but I must say you will not like Marisol. She is one CRAZY chick.
Declan is such a great guy and my most favorite quote from him is "I've been all over the world, Aria, and still, there's no other sight that takes my breath away the way that you do."
LOVE THAT. Shows you how much he really does love her.
Oh.. did I tell you this is fiction. ;) When I read it, I felt like I was reading a true story. It was so well written that when I would read certain parts, I would cry, I would get chills and I would be super happy.
You will enjoy this emotional roller coaster.. I know I did.
this book was a little better than the first one but seemed a bit long. we finally get a glimpse of marisol's past and why she is the way she is but she still seems to be a bit much. there are a couple of good twists surrounding her that i didn't see coming. i think the angst went on too long and found myself skipping ahead a bit at times.
loved the very end though. i loved how aria healed even further in this book. the supporting cast was just as good as in book one - i'm highly anticipating carter's story and would like to see blake get a story as well.
I love this story. Both Aria and Declan have been through tragedy and both of their lives have been thrown into turmoil thanks to Marisol. Thanks to the introduction of new characters, this 2nd book took me on a wild ride of emotions, with many twists and turns. I hope the author continues on with stories around the other characters that were introduced. This is a must read for anyone who loves stories about suspense, love, tragedy and happiness. I rarely give 5 star reviews, but this one is well deserved. Great Job D.D.!!!!
DeeDee certainly didn't disappoint with the follow up. I don't know about you but when the action starts I read a lot faster and twice I had to go back to get to the climax. It was so good and there's another one coming about someone already mentioned. No, not her, no one could write anything positive about her. She's a nasty piece of work.
Well done DeeDee, please let us know when to expect the next one.
This is a fantastic continuation of this story. It's the conclusion of Declan and Arias story although thankfully there will be more books in this series.
It's so hard to review without spoilers. All I can say is these two books are fantastic. The author certainly knows how to pull on your emotions. The twists and turns had me gripped and I ended up staying up late to finish this book. Highly recommend these two books.
Wow , just Wow. What a fabulous story. This book was full of OMG moments and had me saying No No No many times throughout the story. I loved all the characters in this story. Each one enhanced the story. There were no descriptive love scenes in this book but it certainly didn't need it. If you are looking for an angsty, real love story then this is the book!
what a good baddie marisol was declan and aria should have talked what happed before halfway not threequarters through the book but that is only a little niggle this was a fitting ending of declan and aria love story with excellent twists a 5 star read from me

I loved this book. I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed every minute. I can't wait for the next one. This one really answered so many of the questions I had from the first book. I can't wait to see how everything unfolds for Carter.
SPOILER ALERT! PLEASE DO NOT READ THIS REVIEW IF YOU HAVE NOT READ POSITIVE NEGATIVITY, THE FIRST BOOK IN THE DEPTH OF EMOTION SERIES. THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE SO!

When it comes down to it, can love overcome hate? Or will hate destroy not just Aria and Declan but everyone and everything they hold dear?
D.D. Lorenzo has again written a winner with this sequel to Positive Negativity. It's an intriguing look at the lives and relationships of Declan and Aria as they transform in ways they never could have imagined. As I said in my review of Positive Negativity, the title of the series says it all. The depth of emotion demonstrated by each and every character created by Ms Lorenzo is incredible. This story is not maudlin. It's not overly sentimental. It's beautiful, breathtaking, and awe-inspiring in its portrayal of each character and the incredible moments they experience. The growth and development Declan's and Aria's relationship again alternates between uncertainty, hopefulness, poignancy, heartbreak, and the potential for true joy, redemption, and wonder. There's not just romance but mystery, danger, uncertainty, and unexpected twists and turns throughout the story. This story takes the reader to the highest of highs and the lowest of lows in human emotion. It's deeply emotional, thoughtful, detail-oriented, and, most of all, a true romance. There are more books in this series to come, and I am very eager to read them. I highly recommend Selective Memory. D.D. Lorenzo has again created a deeply satisfying and emotionally fulfilling reading experience!
One final note. Please be an informed reader and consumer! This is an adult book. It does contain explicit language and a few sexual scenes. If you don't enjoy this genre, think hard before buying any book you know you won't enjoy. There are book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads and all booksellers' websites. Use these resources. DON'T LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WON'T ENJOY THE BOOK. It's not fair to the author. She works extremely hard to provide a quality work product. If you know you'll object to the book's subject matter before you buy it, you're doing yourself and the author an extreme disservice.
