This book suffers by the De Jonges way of perhaps drawing conclusions, perhaps a bit too personal at times, by pieces of information that he has gathered which many times give the impression of hearsay and rumour. For instance, his description of the French occupation of the Rhine, where the moorish part of the soldiers according to De Jonge may have contributed to the Germans fear of other races. Other than that it's a decent narrative of the Weimar period. There have been many other books published on the subject, and I for one am looking for something a little more up to date.

good survey, nice images. author writes well. but it lacks some of the background information that might be useful to people interested in studying the time period.

If nothing else buy it for the pictures.

This book is a quick overview (more of a collage) of the Weimar era.

It covers a wide range of subjects, people, and places; if you want depth there is a bibliography at the end of the book.

There is not much more to say without just quoting the book.
