It was definitely not supposed to end with him dragging her to the laundry room and showing her what all those stiff suits he liked to wear were really covering up.
Maddox was a one-and-done kind of woman. For ten years, she lived her life on the run with no one knowing her true identity. Until Chance came along and screwed everything up. Now her past was rearing its ugly head, and she had to decide whether to run or stay and fight. She’ll soon find she chose wrong, and Chance wasn’t willing to let her go that easily. Not until he proves she’s not behind his team’s recent problems.

This series is addictive; both books have stuck with me long after I read the end, and I am almost at stalker status for the next one. I will be re-reading this series more than once.
My geeky heart loves Maddox, what she does, her sass, and that girl can keep a secret! How she loves to torment Chance, a fellow security agent. The attraction dance between dodging danger and Maddox’s past finding her. In a book that is hard to put down, with twists, danger, the questions, the answers, more lingering questions. I am ready for more.

This series is proving to throw a few really good curveballs at me. Beyond Maddox and Chance and their hate-to-mask-more, we find that there is more danger. Danger that wasn’t expected. And then the questions start. Who? Why? What’s the goal? How can they figure this out? But trust me, the team figures it out. Yeah, we have more questions and mysteries coming our way. And yeah, Liam is going to have quite the road ahead. But Maddox finally has safety and love. Chance finally has freedom from his past and love. So I’m ready for wherever Liam takes us!

No matter how deep you bury them, secrets always surface eventually
I love Maddox, she uses sass and banter to distract others as she avoids personal questions and uncovers the secrets of others...but you cannot distract Phantom Team quite as easily as you can distract others.
They will keep asking...
They will keep digging...
And they will ask the hard questions....
But they will also defend their own to the death and Maddox is definitely now one of them. However, death is the last thing she wants, and running is like second nature....
As I expected the fireworks between Maddox and Chance are packed with chemistry and very explosive, but once they finally give in and embrace the fire, they find so much more, their defenses drop and we see a whole new version of Chance and a slightly less feisty but no less sassy version of Maddox.
I really like this series and have downloaded book three already. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

From combatants to lovers in the blink of an eye. Though that doesn’t mean anything but a quick hook up or does it?
Finally Chance and Maddox agree they have a relationship, and that’s when her past rears its ugly head. If they’re going to stand any chance of a future the team is going to have to do some fast footwork. Little knowing how really close the traitor in their midst is.
If you like stories of people coming to realise they are not just the product of their upbringing, and having to do a 360 on their thinking, then like me you’ll like this read. It has plenty of action, with great characters, villains you want to do damage to, and a feel good romance.

This was such a fantastic book. Moving, gripping and a really great romance.
This was about hacker extraordinary, Bree aka Maddox who enjoyed propositioning Blackguard security agent, Chance.
The attraction was hot and the steam was passionate and I loved it. It wasn't too over the top, just a wonderful slow build deep relationship that brews between two broken people who worked on putting their pieces back together. Their chemistry really was a central part of the book.
I enjoyed the plot so much and all the drama and danger behind the scenes was meticulously worked out. It impressed me that's for sure!
I'm loving this series and as someone relatively new to Elizabella Baker and her books, I can highly recommend them. So so so good!!

This is Chase and Bree’s story. Bree better known as Maddox and is an expert hacker. She has been on the run for years! She has a stalker that keeps her looking over her shoulder. She is a band t-shirt wearing tattooed girl that has a ton of spunk. Can she let her new family in on her secrets? Can she trust someone besides herself?

Maddox is a laid back in your face hacker that has been brought onto the team. She is tormenting Chance. She finally drives him too far.
Liam is an old friend from his days growing up plus his teammate. He pretty much tells Chance to quit living his life the way his father would have wanted.
Chance and Maddox (Bree) are now openly together and narrowing down her stalker. Then boom!
Chance needs to find Bree and bring her back. Bree can't believe who is all involved when she finds out while waiting for the team to come rescue her.

Well Maddox and Chance certainly steamed up the pages in this book. The attraction and chemistry between them was off the charts crazy and with their love/hate relationship this only steams the pages even more. When Maddox’s past catches up with her Chance is right there with the rest of the team to save Maddox. I was hooked from the beginning and Elizabella Baker delivers a few interesting curveballs and surprises. A great story mixed with our usual great characters and you have a few hours of losing yourself in Chance and Maddox. Love this series and I am eagerly awaiting the next book.

explosive second installment!
Chance and Maddox had sparks flying since the moment they met. This second story in the BLACKGUARD Security Phantom team is non stop, no time to breathe, holy hand grenades THE LAUNDRY ROOM, yes Anna is still the cutest, Daniel is always grumpy and Blayne can’t keep his mouth shut. So far this is my fave of the series. Chance and Maddox are fire together. Trying to track down the traitor in the company makes Chance realize how much Maddox means to him. And then the explosions start. Literally. 13/10 recommend! Now desperately waiting for book 3.....

Chance Williams had enough of being teased by Maddox daily and now that he’s been assigned to be her bodyguard while they search for a traitor, it was too much. After an extremely, mutually satisfying mid-day interlude, Maddox saw a code come across her screen that horrified her. She had no choice but to run… again but this time it’d hurt. She liked these people. A lot. But Chance was doing his job, he caught up to Maddox before the traitor found her. As they wait, Maddox gives Chance her secrets… who she really is and why she’s running. When she tells the team, they’re annoyed but double their efforts to find the traitor. They make a plan but Maddox is snatched!

I have been waiting for Maddox's story since she was introduced and Elizabella did not disappoint!
Maddox and Chance have a sizzling chemistry, which has Chance turning Maddox down every chance he gets.
Until he finally gives in and they have a hot moment together.
Chance is very big on order and plans and Maddox does not fit into his plan. Or so he thought.

This is such an exciting read full of suspense, mystery and steam!!

Maddox is smart, smart mouthed, loud, and is a thorn in Chance's side. She is love them and leave them and so is he so why won't he just give in. However Maddox wants to know what's behind his suit and tie facade. However, there is a traitor among them and Maddox needs to remain focused until her past threatens the team and Chance needs to decide will he let his past continue to color his future. Maddox and Chance's journey is funny, sexy, and of course dangerous and there is a guaranteed HEA and 2 silver fox crushes wink wink.

Each member is hot, sexy, but full of love for the one woman who they vow to protect. They are a brotherhood who watch each others backs.
I'm completely hooked on this series as the others and the characters with their wit, humour, banter and sarcasm. The mix of action, danger, and laughter has me fully engaged.

Received as an ARC and leaving my honest review voluntarily. Although a standalone focusing on one couple, the stories are interconnected and the main story arc continues, so I would recommend reading the books in order. Thoroughly enjoyed the story, that had a good mix of suspense, action, well developed characters (loved that the female characters are no shrinking violets) and just enough steam to keep me happily turning the pages. Can't wait for the next book!

Did you want explosive chemistry fueled with arguments that heated the sheets? Definitely reading the right book! As the suspense from book one continues, we get emotions running high with both men & women. Smarts & sass fills the pages as we enjoy these protective alphas save their independent women. These too have such a crazy chemistry. From very early on you just knew Maddox had quite a story. Her family is crazy. The chemistry is on fire the entire book, and that laundry room scene that's all I'm going to say. Lol. I love elizabella bakers books she never ever disappoints. It was nice seeing how she gets chance to relax a little. The end scenes are quite intense tho.

Book 2 in The Blackguard Security: Phantom series did not disappoint! Fast-paced, action packed story that proves opposites attract. Another amazing installment to what is shaping up to be a terrific series!

Creepy good. Brew was never free from her past. This book was so spell binding, I couldn't stop reading. The intricate shifting of danger and romance had me wanting to finish it fast, but the story was terrific and I didn't want it to end.

Another Good One
I love this series. The stories get better and better. I loved their interactions and the way there was more than one story going on at once. I knew the things going on were more complicated than they appeared but near the end there was a zinger that I wasn’t expecting. I think without a doubt Elizabella Baker has been added to my favorite author list.

Such a passionate book! Filled with explosive chemistry between Chance and Maddox. I loved every minute of it and could not put it down. Chance was amazing, started out really fighting against his attraction and then he went all in and oh my!! He was swoon worthy! I cannot wait for the next one!!

Unbelievable!!! The thought process that went into Chance and Maddox's story... no, actually the Blackguard series, is mind boggling. Filled with twists and turns and of course, smut. Best book of the series!!

Security is an interesting field to be involved in
Running from her family and a marriage she didn't want led her to the man she didn't know she needed. Plus teammates who became family. Add to that a job that was never dull.

Who could resist a chance to loosen up Chance. Sexy off the charts chemistry. Blackgaurd security has a cast of awesome characters. Can't wait for each story!!
