This was truly a stimulating and intriguing read. The 3 Cs of Creating Change: Making an Impact Through Connections, Community & Culture is a surprisingly inspirational read that really has you wanting to take action once you’ve finished. If you want to create lasting positive change in yourself, your community and the world while empathetically growing and evolving, then this is the book for you.

I won’t reveal too much since I’m personally a reader who doesn’t like spoilers, but I will say that if you’re open and really want to leave a lasting legacy on the world or an imprint on society, this book will help you do that. Knowing that taking tiny actions and making small changes in myself and my perspective can ripple out and change the world in a grand way was truly a profound revelation, and it really made me look at myself as a person and become really self-aware of my choices and actions.

You can tell that the author put so much work into this book. It covered so many different perspectives and topics, and everything was thoroughly explained and researched, including data, real-life examples, scientific studies…etc. You’d think with all that, that the writing style would be very dry and boring. But the writing was rather elegant. Only someone who truly believed in what they were talking about would write with such carefulness and thoughtfulness. It flowed very well, and it felt like the author was speaking to you like a friend or a mentor—guiding and teaching instead of lecturing or being pushy.

And I loved the little analogies scattered throughout the book; they really helped make everything easier to understand. I also really liked the structure of the book with the chapters ending in summarizes or “Key Takeaways” of what you just read, which was very helpful.

One of my favorite quotes was: “In a world that often lauds strength and self-sufficiency, vulnerability is frequently relegated to the status of a weakness. Yet, vulnerability is a fundamental aspect of the human experience and is crucial to our ability to connect with others and lead meaningfully supported lives.”

These words are so true and really helped promote the togetherness of humanity. That, yes, we have differences, but as humans—we are one and connected in ways that are inevitable. The chapter on vulnerability was definitely one of my favorites because it is something society always deems as weak and that’s wrong. It’s the reason why we have so many children growing into adults who don’t know how to give back or help others and lack emotional intelligence. And these adults have children, and the cycles keep going, creating these holes in society where people don’t know how to communicate and be honest with their feelings and they start repressing things, which leads to an abundance of other issues and dangers that keep society functioning at a negatively low level.

I will say that this was definitely a book that I couldn’t finish in one sitting. There’s a lot of chapters, but they’re mostly short. It took me a few days to finish because it’s packed with a lot of new terms and topics that I wasn’t familiar with, and I really wanted to absorb everything. There are also tasks/prompts included as well to really get you involved and to take action. So, I recommend taking your time and going at your own pace to really understand and appreciate everything.

Overall, this was a very fascinating and insightful read. I learned quite a lot. The ending chapters were a nice touch with the 10 quotes to live by, which were all very inspiring, and the 30 days of Kindness Calendar. As I said before, you can tell the author put a lot of work and love into this book, and it clearly shows. I think this book is coming out at a great time. With everything going on in the world right now, I think books like this can help people feel a little less lost.

Wow, this is one of the best (perhaps unintentional) antidotes to apathy and disillusionment with our current world that I have ever come across. We all have days when we fall into a mental funk, and it’s hard to drag yourself out of them. However, this is one of those rare books that gives you a helping hand in the form of a practical guide that instructs and inspires.

The 3 Cs of Creating Change is a book that thrusts readers into the heart of interconnectedness, reawakening a sense of agency in an era of overwhelming global problems. Mamun bridges theory with practical steps, teaching you methods to unlock collective strength, leverage diversity, and foster connections.

He dissects the power of small actions to transform society, whether it's the serendipity of a scientific breakthrough like penicillin or the exponential potential of digital networks. It's a bird’s eye view of societal connectivity, inspiring you to navigate our rapidly evolving landscape for positive change.

Throughout the book, Mamun covers interconnected themes of effective altruism, systems thinking, and a global perspective. I loved the sections on community, which go over the historical evolution of societal units, emphasizing the impact of collective identity and the rise of digital communities (a fascinating subject in its own right).

Also, Mamun delves into the neurobiological roots of actions like smiling, the power of gratitude, and the significance of a heartfelt compliment, providing readers with actionable, science-backed insights. Nothing irks me more than empty feel-good affirmations, but this is most definitely not that.

The fusion of theory, history, and actionable insights into community, altruism, and culture leaves a deep impression, reinforcing the potential of individual actions in reshaping our collective future. If you're looking for inspiration in this mad social media driven clown world, this book is your gateway to making an impactful change in the world.

Somebody has to, right? It may as well be you. After all, "Integrity is doing the right thing when no one is watching"

*SPOILERS AHEAD*

I smashed out this book in a couple of hours. I've never read anything like it. 'The 3 C's of Creating Change: Making an Impact Through Connections, Community and Culture' covered an extensive variety of topics, some of which aren't talked about enough. Within each overarching theme, the impact of specific points was talked about, as well as deeper explanations regarding them. At the end of each chapter, there was a Key Takeaways segment, which briefly covered the chapter's message. I loved this part because it summarised everything I'd just learned and recapped the important segments.
I had a great appreciation for the tasks that were included in the book. Throughout the different parts of 'The 3 Cs of Creating Change: Making an Impact Through Connections, Community and Culture' there was a Your Task section, situated after Key Takeaways. This task would relate to the chapter's topic, and involve the reader in making the world a better place. My favourite task was in chapter 35, titled The Compliment Chain. Now, I'm on a mission to complete this task every day. It doesn't take a lot of effort to complete but can contribute to changing someone's day. These little notes really added to the book, and supplied what the title stated, in a fun and inclusive way.
In chapter 25 - Culture as a Change Catalyst (subtitle Supporting and Empowering Cultural Leaders') I really enjoyed the mention of Aboriginal people. They are not talked about in these types of books nearly enough, and it was really refreshing to read about their cultural empowerment.
I loved the little sub notes that appeared every now and again. On page 143, the term 'culture' was discussed, and how its deep roots and history have contributed to today's world. Small facts like this really broke up the book in a positive way, and gave the reader a break from the more profound topics.
Although there weren't many images pictured throughout the book, there was a basic (yet informative) chart in Chapter 2 - Connection and Its Psychological Implications. This graph illustrated the 'Care Scale' and was very readable. As a result of this, it should make sense to people who don't even understand the topic.
I feel like the 'The 3 C's of Creating Change: Making an Impact Through Connections, Community and Culture' would make perfect sense to people who aren't experts with the book's topic. I also believe that they'd enjoy the book too. It was definitely an enjoyable read, and as someone who isn't a proffessional in this field, I found it super easy to read, and I quickly learned about each topic., which was displayed in a clear way. After reading the book, I feel like an expert and have taken a lot of information out of it.
At the very end of the book, there's a 30 Day Kindness Challenge. I feel like this was a perfect way to end the book, and really added to the overarching idea of everything that was spoken about. Even after the book has ended, the author has gone to the effort of adding extra features, like quotes, and challenges, which displays their strong passion for the book's topic, and contributes to the positive feeling of the book. Although the challenges are all simple, and quick, like helping a stranger with something or checking up on someone, they can make a huge difference to a person's life.
It became obvious from the very beginning of 'The 3 C's of Creating Change: Making an Impact Through Connections, Community and Culture' that the author conducted a lot of research to make the book comprehensive and informative. It covers every crevice of community, culture and connection, and I feel very grateful that the author has shared their knowledge through a book, because now, I know a lot more about the topics.
The display of the book is perfectly done. It's clear, separate, and super easy to read. There aren't too many colours in my face, and there are no errors. The titles are in a larger, more obvious font, while the text is in a basic, readable one. Some words are bolded, and draw me in to read more, which is exactly what this book is going for.
I really enjoyed this read, and although I haven't read many books like it, I now feel inspired to start reading them. 'The 3 C's of Creating Change: Making an Impact Through Connections, Community and Culture' was definitely a five star read, and I really hope that the book gets so much more publicity.

Compelling and insightful!

This is such a remarkable book. It offers a profound exploration of the three essential elements for effecting meaningful change in our world. The book's introduction sets the stage by highlighting the interconnectedness of our modern era and the tremendous potential it holds for global change. It urges us to recognize our power as change agents and provides practical steps to turn this potential into reality.

The book is separated into two parts. Part One is a thought-provoking exploration of the core concepts, Connections, Community & Culture. In the section on Connections, we are introduced to the power of human relationships and the profound impact of empathy, compassion, and interconnectivity. It emphasizes that by nurturing deeper, more human connections, we can multiply our impact on the world. The section on Community explores the significance of communities in shaping human behavior and fostering positive change. It illuminates the various types of communities, their evolution, and their role in creating a sense of belonging and cohesion. The section on Culture dives into the transformative power of vulnerability, mindfulness, and altruism. It discusses how these cultural aspects can lead to personal growth, stronger communities, and a more compassionate society. Part Two explores how the three C’s intersect to help us drive change in ourselves and society.

My favorite thing about this book is its practical approach to creating change. It provides actionable insights and strategies, such as connecting competencies to causes, aligning priorities, and fostering a culture of acceptance, mindfulness, and altruism. It demonstrates that small acts of kindness, like smiles, hugs, and compliments, can have a profound impact on individuals and communities. It also emphasizes the importance of Systems Thinking and adopting a universal perspective when addressing global challenges. It encourages us to broaden our ethical horizons and work towards a more sustainable and equitable world.

Overall, this is a compelling and insightful book that inspired me to become an active agent of positive change in our interconnected world. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking to create a better future for themselves and the world.

This book was really thought-provoking. It highlighted the cyclical structure of the world; how change leads to the forming and changing of communities, and those communities themselves lead to change. It explores the problems and inequalities in the world, which explained why the changes and development within communities are so important. It explained the importance of being a part of groups catered to your personal demographics or hobbies and the impact you can make as a member of these groups. Additionally, Mamun also gives examples of how you can improve yourself, what acts you can do to make yourself more aware of the world and to make yourself happier.

One thing in particular that I liked about this book is that it interacted with the reader – it suggested the reader go away and take part in the acts that the book promotes as important for communities and for change. I felt like this was very helpful to me, as the book was quite complex at times in terms of the detail of the material, but breaking it down into the actions we can take ourselves helped me to understand the importance of the actions that it suggested, as well as making it easier to see how I could myself make the changes necessary for the continuing development of our world.

This book is really a book for everyone. It explores how a variety of different cultures, religions and communities (such as online gaming communities, and communities of various demographics) make changes in the wider world through their values and their actions. It is an inspiring book which really emphasises the changes and improvements we can all make in the world and in our individual communities. The topics Mamun covers are very important today, with the world constantly changing and unfortunately not always for the better. Mamun emphasises the need for development for those with disabilities and other needed changes that as various communities, and as one global community, we can make.

The book states that it has a desire to remind everyone of the incredible potential they have in them to effect change in the world, and it succeeds. If you want to know more about how you can impact the planet within your communities and as an individual, this is definitely a necessary read.

So, I was interested in reading a book that deals with changes in the world and how to use those changes to help improve the world and communication among human beings. So, when author Ace Mamun had sent me the book “The Three Cs of Creating Change,” I was definitely on board with reading this book!

“The 3 Cs of Creating Change” is about trying to make the world a much better place to live in and to do that, this book allows us to explore about how to influence our connections, communities and cultures and use these concepts to make a huge impact on the world in a positive manner.

TEDx speaker Ace Mamun has done a brilliant job at writing this book. I loved the way that Ace Mamun explains about the importance of connections, communities and cultures and how they can shape the changes going on in the world in a positive way. I always found it important about how people need to understand the concepts of communities, cultures and connections and how to use them to interact with people in a positive way, as well as use these concepts to develop more friendly relationships with each other. I also loved the tone of this book as this book has a very positive and uplifting tone and it encourages you, the reader, to go out in public and try to develop better relationships with people, as well as standing up for the causes that you really care about. I also loved the fact that Ace Mamun had provided “Key Takeaways” and “Your Task” sections in the book, as the “Key Takeaways” section helps explain the chapters in a more condensed and understandable way and the “Your Task” sections help encourage activities for the reader to do in order to improve their relationships with other people and the world in general.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading “The 3 Cs of Creating Change!” It is such an aspiring and uplifting book that will help people understand about using changes in a positive way and learning to establish better relationships with other people and the world in general. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to make a positive difference in the world.

Very interesting and comforting.

Books like this are usually written to either impress or upset you (in my experience), all in the hopes you getting to you and making you question your worldview. I can't say I was challenged - surprisingly enough, I found that I already shared most of the author's opinions before even starting to read their book. It was very pleasant to find someone with whom I share so much in common and have them put my exact same thoughts and beliefs into much more clearer and concise sentences than I ever could.
I can't speak for anyone who doesn't share this same ideology, of course, and I can't tell for sure what you'll think of this book or if you'll even remotely like it. But I think, and hope, you will. Even if you don't agree with what's being shared, I think you'll find the reading experience very pleasant. The chapters are short and broken down into smaller sections, so you can easily read for five minutes, pause, think about what you just read and how your own opinions on the matter relate to the book, and then get back to reading. After each chapter, you also have a short page with the key takeaways of what was discussed, so you can easily go through those pages to remember arguments and the points made, and sometimes you even have "activity pages", where the author gives you a task that, by the end of it, will help you feel and be more connected to the world around you.
I also need to mention how beautiful the writing was! I'm never expecting non-fiction books to have such lovely imagery or careful writing, so this was very surprising but in a good way. It almost made me sad that the author is writing non-fiction instead of fiction. I would 100% recommend this book just for the writing style alone.

In "The 3 C's of Creating Change," Ace Mamun delves into the transformative power of connection, community, and culture as key catalysts for positive change. The book aims to unravel accessible methods that empower individuals to tap into our collective strength. By emphasizing the importance of fostering connections, building communities, and nurturing cultural influences, the author guides readers on a journey to become advocates of meaningful and impactful change in the world.

Why I gave this book 4 stars:
When it comes to the topic of social and global change, I have found other materials patronizing and preachy. Some authors lecture readers for allegedly not doing enough for the planet. I was relieved that Mamum did not take this morally superior approach, and this is apparent from the first line. In fact, the writing style is masterful and presents ideas with clarity and eloquence. For readers that appreciate well-crafted prose, you will definitely learn from this one.
Furthermore, if you are overwhelmed on how to begin, there are insightful and practical activities offered at the end of each chapter. These moments of clarity will help you to retain the valuable lessons.

Overall, The book advocates for the greater good of society and the world. The content is well-organized and the supportive research enriches the narrative and provides depth to the author's arguments. The book is thought-provoking and leaves readers with a call to action, emphasizing the potential for positive transformation on both personal and societal scales.

A book worth reading about driving positive changes

The 3 Cs of Creating Change: Making an Impact Through Connections, Community & Culture by Ace Mamun is a highly inspiring book providing rich insights into how we can be drivers of positive change.

The book reminded me of the importance of spreading positivity and kindness in a world where competition can be fierce, and loneliness is abundant. We can empower and be empowered by harnessing our connections, by being brave enough to engage in our communities, and by being inclusive and empathetic.

The author writes about embracing a more inclusive approach to help strengthen empathy, compassion, and collaboration. He makes an important point that communities are great places for people to join efforts to connect and cooperate, or collaborate.

A topic I found particularly interesting was social capital. It is a valuable resource that we can leverage towards creating greater connections, compassion, and influence fairness. We can use our competencies for causes that matter, forge relationships, and invest more toward collaboration.

With regard to culture, his views on recognizing diversity and leadership resonated well with my personal thoughts and opinions. I especially liked the mention of the McDonaldization of society – referring to homogenizing cultures and its role in diminishing cultural diversity. Yet, the author notes that in this digital age, we can do so much to overcome such challenges. Virtual communities can enable and foster the rise of global and cross-cultural richness and collaboration.

The author gives excellent advice on resolving conflicts easily and civilly while maintaining relationships. He discusses the importance of mindfulness, tolerance, being a good listener, and how to avoid jumping to conclusions.

Once I started reading the book, I couldn’t put it down. The flow from one chapter to the next was a smooth journey for me, as the reader. I connected with the author’s tone of voice – warm, informative, and friendly while encouraging the reader to engage in key takeaways, value-added tasks, and a bonus gift – a 30-day kindness calendar.

Overall, The 3 Cs of Creating Change is one of the most insightful books I’ve read, and I will undoubtedly reread it.

Empowering Change: A Practical Guide to a Sustainable Tomorrow

The book "The Three Cs of Change" represents an exemplary practical guide, addressing the fundamental concepts of connection, community, and culture in its early chapters, followed by a profound exploration of their intersection. The book goes beyond mere motivation, providing well-defined tasks to ensure a smooth transition from theory to practice.

For someone like me, which works in the gastronomic field, the book offers a captivating perspective on issues such as food waste, mentioning that a third of all food produced in the west is never consumed. The author's ability to connect these topics to broader themes adds narrative depth, making it relevant and engaging.

A noteworthy aspect is the inclusion of practical ideas, aligning the reader with the tools necessary for positive change. The author's recommendations for further reading and the addition of "10 quotes to live by" at the end contribute to a holistic and empowering experience.

In essence, if you aspire to have a positive impact on the planet, "The Three Cs of Change" is a must-read. The book not only equips you with the necessary tools but also inspires a sense of responsibility and action, urging readers to actively contribute to a more equitable, just, and sustainable world.

I have quite a few feelings on the topics inside this book. It seems to cover everything from social media to current events and beyond. I loved the beginning the most, the middle lost me, and the end was a nice wrap-up. The structure of this book is well done and easy to follow and understand, and the key notes at the end of (almost) every chapter was nice to read through. Seeing it condensed into one or two sentences really drove what'd I'd just read home, and that tiny repetition helped the topics stick in my brain.

Although I enjoyed the philosophical section and the parts about altruism toward the end, I'd like to kind of talk about how interesting the beginning is. It talks about social media and how we interact with one another now rather than twenty-plus years ago. It had me hooked, and I ate up every word. That being said, even with topics where I didn't agree with the author, I still appreciated moments that were handled in a very kind way.

Overall, it's a solid book. It's worth checking out if you get the chance.

From smiling at a stranger to forming an activism group to fight animal cruelty, we are all a part of building the change needed! The call to action assignments at the end of each chapter makes it like your very own guide to getting started by looking at the big picture and understanding the effect you can have on others, your community, and the world! A very thorough book for those of us who want to have a positive impact to make the world a better place. Ace Mamun’s “3 Cs of Creating Change” is full of tools and actionable suggestions to help one to reach this noble goal of initiating positive change.

Very well-written and explained in a way that educated readers should be able to follow. In fact, in my opinion, this book should be a required reading University text book. The 3 Cs of Creating Changes if a fantastic book that I would recommend reading. While this style of book is not my usual pick for reading, it does a fantastic job not only teaching you the history and science behind creating change, but also showing you how anyone can make a positive impact to improve the world we live in. I learned a lot reading this book and I'm confident that you will learn a lot as well.
