The Awakening: Book Three in The Darkness Trilogy

Rate this book
They say revenge is a dish best served cold. I say that’s the quickest way to show all your cards. I’ve never thought twice about seeking revenge on someone. Even when my parents brought me to the darkest parts of hell and left me there to rot. I never imagined how I would make them pay for their sins. I left that up to God.

You see, that was the old me, the frightened, scared, broken little girl who pitted herself and took what others gave her. Now, I’m seeing red. Revenge is what I seek. Revenge is what I want. Revenge is what I need. It resides in the very blood that courses through my veins.

One can only be casted away to the shadows of darkness and left to be forgotten for so long. Eventually, you see, there will be an awakening. I’ve crawled my way out of the abyss where I’ve been thrown. Forged into a new identity where hatred and rage reside.

So long to the old Sloan, she’s reached her awakening and so help all who stand in the way of the revenge she seeks.

I’m coming for you. I’m coming for you all.

Finally! I know!
It is a great serie with all lovable characters and with a bit of a twist in this last book.

The end is easy and could have been a bit more complicated and twisted than that.
Nevertheless for a first trilogy and first books, it was hell of a ride!

That was a good ending. Now I want to know what happens with Arno and Willow! Book 3 was by far the best in writing style, fluidity and story line. I love seeing the progression of newer authors and watching their art form grow and change. Good series overall with a good story line.

A great ending to the trilogy. This one had emotion and suspense and I’m so happy everyone got their happy ending. I love to see new authors grow and learn. The writing and the flow were so much better in this one. I was so happy that we got group scenes in this one but was so sad that it’s because they were in Colson’s bed to be closer to him. I could feel Everett and Dean’s desperation to keep Sloan safe and their heartbreak over losing Colson. It was nice to have a good plot twist for once.

This series started strong.. I really liked Book 1 , Book 2 was good but it started going downhill and Book 3 kind of fell flat for me. I didn't really like the turn it took and while I get that its fiction, it was still just a bit weird and didn't really make sense or feel plausible to me.. Just odd.

I said I was going to take a break cause I was to emotional reading this, 3 hours later I picked it up and finished it in one go.

I loved this series, first series that had made me literally cry my eyes out.

I loved this book

This book made me cry smile and curse a few times. I think the plot is mostly the best part. I can't imagine how women feel that have been taken and then to have strangers recuse you that don't have to is amazing. And they're so good to her

A really good conclusion to their story. You see the guys move forward, and Sloan realizes who she wants to be. You also get a little past view of their beginning. I'm really hoping for a spin off story.. ;)

I genuinely enjoyed this book.
Overall, this series is 5 starts for me.
I'm so happy Colson is back. I was a blubbering mess having to read thru his death in the second book.
The ending was all warm and fuzzy, and I was happy with it 😊

Always love a happy ending, but book 3 was very predictable I wish Sloan got to spend time with her grandfather before he died and they talked more about Colsons recovery

This book gave me the ending I needed after the second book, which made me sad. This book also gave us a better understanding of the organization, the shadows, and also Sloan's life before them.

It was ok. I wanted more. I can’t say much without spoiling but, the big story line deserved more attention

You did a great job cleaning up all of the stories... wish I could have seen the guys take down her dad but I absolutely love this series.

I want to start off by saying thank you Rebecca for sending me your series! I love everything about this trilogy. The twists and spins are very unique. I couldn't put this series down!! I am so sad that the series is over but so happy that the ending was perfect and everyone got what they deserved. The characters go through so much and they always come back to each other. This series will always be one of my favorites because of the strong bond that these characters have. Please check TW for all 3 books!!

WOW!!! I was lucky enough to be picked to be an ARC reader for this amazing book and it was my favourite by far! I love how it ties up every loose end from the previous 2 books. I loved the character growth in this book, mainly the relationship growth between Sloan and Arno, their friendship is beautiful to read. I love the twist in this book and how Rebecca wrote about the grief the characters are going through instead of skipping through it.

The spice in this book is 🌶🌶🌶🌶

I 100% recommend the Darkness Trilogy to anyone, I will be rereading this whole series again.
