Match Me Up #3

Never Let Go

Rate this book
The fairytales never warn you how confusing it can be.

Falling in love, I mean.

Especially when you’re as unlucky as I am.

I loved a boy once, but he is the one who got away.

Poof. Gone.

Now I need a date for my friend’s wedding.

It’s the perfect kick in the butt I need to take a chance on a wild idea.

My friend is marrying the guy she met through a blind-dating service.

Literally. They dated in the dark.

I give it a go.

Dating in the light hasn’t worked out for me so far anyway.

Naturally, the one that got away shows back up in my life right when I’m starting to move on.

The best part?

He’s a literal billionaire now.

And?

He’s. So. Freaking. Hot.

Like, melt your eyeballs out of your head hot.

Now I’m really in trouble.

Dating in the dark is never what it seems.

And my mystery Casanova?

Well, he’s not what he seems, and he has his own reasons for dating in the dark.

Wish me luck.

Every good girl deserves a bad boy. ~ Weston

This was a cute story of a second chance, no even better, more like the one that got away. When, Foster O’Brien gets a notice from his grandfather’s estate lawyer, on his mother's side saying that he was left something, in the will he is worried. Why him? Shelby Lowe needs to meet with him and he says okay, but he is not happy about it. When he arrives there the lawyer looks very familiar to him. She says she doesn't know him, but she clearly does.

It turns out he does know her, but she doesn't want to reveal her identity so she says, no sorry. For two reasons one, she just started a new job and wanted to make a good impression. Two, what girl likes not being remembered, by the guy she had a major crush on for two years in college? Especially, when they lived in the same dorm building, set up for the higher-functioning students.

They have two more meetings, but just the one has them both going down memory lane, over and over again. Shelby asked herself, why hadn't he ever, asked me out? Was her weight/size ever a factor in the equation? She was feeling like the nerd she thought she was, all through her school days. As for, Foster once he finally remembered her he had mixed emotions as to how she, could just forget him. He was not familiar with such a foreign concept.

After, a ton of badgering from his brother and his best friend/fiancee, Hope who he works with at a dating agency. They have pestered him enough that he said, yes to trying the app. Only because the two love birds also have a side bet going on. They will find the best person, from the ones the computer-generated picks, before each date. Let's just say the first three were disasters. He was ready to jump ship. Plus, he couldn’t get, Shelby out of his head. The what-ifs were killing him.

Shelby wasn’t doing much better. She couldn't stop thinking about him, either. However, she believed, that if he had liked her back then, he would have asked me out. Yet, that never happened. But, with her friend, Ashley getting married, and her being the maid of honor, she would like a date with her. Otherwise, she once again will be the only woman in attendance, without a date. So, a week or so before the wedding, guess who joins the same dating app? You got it, this can’t be any sweeter until, it's not.

Old insecurities resurfaced, and she couldn't get them tamped down. As they flew in the face of what is perceived, to be a betrayal. She felt the nerd and BBW she is, would never be laid to rest. But, Ashley asked her if she even waited long enough, to get an explanation. Of course, the answer is evident by her facial features. Take this journey with, Shelby and, Foster and see their insecurities, are much the same.

This makes me wonder if the reasoning is, that we give the kids we (society) call nerds, the feeling that they need to be always on alert. To be normal, act normal, and dress normally to be accepted. Making them want to be perfect at everything. Can we even start with the stress, of school and parents who want good grades? It's no wonder they are, insecure but aren’t we all? If you like someone tell them outright, they can’t read your mind.

Foster O’Brien is Vice President of Operations for Sight Unseen, a blind-dating agency with non-traditional rules, to say the least. Today he is on his way to the reading of his grandfather’s will, for whom Foster was named. Shelby Lowe has just started working in the estate settlements division of Harrison and Harrison, a prestigious law firm., and is about to meet with the final relative of her case, Foster O’Brien, whose name, coincidentally, is the same as her crush from college. When he comes into Shelby’s office, Foster is gobsmacked not only by seeing his friend from college but to learn that he is the primary beneficiary of his grandfather’s estate worth several hundred million dollars! And if that weren’t enough, his brother is going to use the Sight Unseen algorithm to connect him with a perfect match, just as Foster had done for him. Another deal is in the making as well when Shelby’s best friend Ashley, who was paired with her now fiancé by Sight Unseen, convinces her to sign up in order to have a date to her wedding.

Oh, my goodness, I absolutely adore this story that features two star-crossed almost lovers with a second chance for HEA. The plot is more complex than the finest woven spider web, crisscrossing not only time but friendships, as Weston Parker once again uses his creativity to lure readers into the story - hook, line, and sinker. I also love how he seamlessly intertwines characters from the previous Match Me Up books into the current one, so much so that I felt like a member of the family reunion.

If you are a fan of pure romance with an intriguing cast of characters and an intricate storyline, don’t miss this one!

I received this book as an ARC reviewer and voluntarily offer my honest opinion.

Foster O'Brien and Shelby Lowe went to college together, in fact, they were both nerds in the honors dorm, but he was one year ahead of her. Shelby had a huge crush on Foster from afar but never said anything to anyone about it as she thought he would never go for anyone like her.
He always watched this cute girl who sat in the corner of the lounge but didn't ask her out because he thought she was too smart to have anything to do with someone like him.
Ten years later, Shelby needs a date to go to her friends wedding. Since her friends met on this dating app, they convinced her to join up. She will be blindfolded the first 4 dates, and then if she makes it to the fifth, she will find out who her date has been because they have been using fake names before this time.
Foster works for the dating app offices and loves his job. Unfortunately, that is his entire life, and his friends are worried about him. They convince him to join, and they will set him up on his date or dates, and he won't see any of it.
When the reveal happens to say they are shocked is an understatement.
I ❤️ loved this book. This story takes you on a wild ride, be prepared to hold on. This is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. It's an easy read and a HEA. You won't be disappointed if you read this book.

This is book three and an interconnected standalone of this series. I have read both books before this, and I definitely think it is more enjoyable when they are read in order. If I hadn’t have already read the previous books, I wouldn’t be confused, but the two characters from book two play a major role in this story.

I really enjoyed Shelby and Foster. I loved that they had a history and how they crossed paths again years later. I love that Foster agreed to join the blind date program and had a great laugh at his first two experiences. I was happy that, not only did he get his HEA, but also played a hand in mending his family feud. I loved that Shelby had such a strong support system in her best friend. I loved that she finally concurred her insecurities and was able to find the HEA she deserved as well. I feel like her mother had a story behind why she felt the way she did about blind dates, and wished that plot would’ve been stretched and explained instead of her just finally starting to accept Foster. It didn’t take away from the story, but it with the way she ranted, I felt like she should’ve had her reasons explained.

I used my Kindle Unlimited subscription to borrow the book so I could snag the extended epilogue. I loved the sneak peek into their future.

I received an advanced readers copy. These thoughts and opinions are my own.

A fantastic love story!

Foster works for a dating agency called Sight Unseen. He is the VP of Operations. Shelby works for the law firm, Harrison and Harrison only for one week now, in the estates settlements division. She is handling the Chesterfield case and her last appointment is Foster. Could it be the Foster she had a crush on in college 12 years ago? Oh, of course it is. Foster knew her, but couldn’t remember from where, until he did. He very well noticed her in college but was afraid she would turn him down if he asked her out. Lo and behold, he is the primary beneficiary of his grandfather’s will, and he didn’t even know the man, but he was his namesake. So now he will be rich. He is over whelmed by that fact, but he also can’t stop thinking about Shelby. Foster is looking into dating again to forget Shelby, so he goes through his company. Shelby is looking for a date for her best friend’s wedding. So they both sign up and are matched purposely by his boss, but they are really a 97% match. It goes so so well meeting in the dark. It falls apart by Shelby when she finally sees him. Does it all work out in the end? You’ll have to read to find out. It will be worth it!

Another great novel by Weston Parker. Shelby and Foster both went to the same college and lived in the same dorm. They both had huge crushes on each other but neither did anything about it. Fast forward 10 years later when Shelby needs to find a date for her friend’s wedding, so they convince her to join a dating website. The rules of the dating site are that she and her date will be blindfolded for the first 4 dates to see how it goes and if they can forge a real connection. If they do make it to the 5th date, they will finally be able to see each other and find out their real names since during the dates, they were using fake names. Foster was also convinced to join the app by his friends since all he does is work and they are worried about him. Watching them both navigate blind dating was a joy to read and made their story more realistic. They were able to get to know each other based on other factors and not how they looked. The chemistry that they had between them was so good. Can’t wait to read more from Weston. Highly recommend this book and all his others. You won’t be disappointed.

4.5 Stars!! Foster and Shelby went to college together and were in the same "geek" dorm. Shelby was an introvert and had a crush on Foster right from the start. He liked her but didn't think she was interested and so didn't ask her out. Fast forward ten years and Shelby works on estates and Foster's really rich grandfather has left him a ton of money. Foster now works at a job he loves in operations for Sight Unseen a blind dating company. Foster's brother convinces him to go through the process and Shelby's best friend convinces her she needs a date for her wedding and should try what worked for her. Neither knows who the other is and they even use fake names and jobs while they get to know each other over four blind dates. Both have instant chemistry and can't believe how well they get along. Will it work out for them or come crashing down when their identities are revealed? Will they get their HEA? Good read.

I voluntarily wrote this review from reading an advanced copy of this book.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Foster and Shelby. They went to college together and both had a secret crush on the other, but they never acted on it. Now twelve years later, Shelby is a lawyer and when Foster inherits money from his grandfather, she handles the transactions. Foster now works for a dating agency and when his brother and his girlfriend talk him into finding a date, he allows them to pick his match. But the agency has a rule they have to have the first four dates in the dark and can't know who they are really dating. It is supposed to allow the people to really get to know each other and find love. Shelby is the maid of honor at her friend's wedding and needs a date. Since her friend met her fiance through the dating agency, she convinces Shelby to try it too. I really liked the idea of dating in the dark and getting to know someone without worrying about looks. I think Foster and Shelby were a good match, but they should have told they other how they really felt about each other. Another great one from Weston.

Foster and Shelby are the next two to undertake the blind date scenario.
Shelby has a successful career and an extremely outspoken but very good best friend. She is loath to attend her friends wedding solo and this is the reason for her signing up to the dating agency.
Foster who works at the dating agency comes across as a little jealous of his friends with their settled relationships and despite his misgivings he gives the blind dates a chance.
The first three were fun to read about and it felt more realistic that he didn’t meet his match at the first date.
Shelby and Foster have a history of unrequited love from their schooldays and show how a misunderstanding from years ago can reappear.
A well written story, fun to read with lots going on besides the dating which made it all the more interesting. Catching up with characters from earlier books in the series also added to the story.

This is a brilliant addition to the Sight Unseen series.
Foster and Shelby knew each other in College and had a secret crush on each other but neither acted on it. Years later and she is the lawyer who is dealing with his inheritance.
Foster works for Sight Unseen and is pushed into using the dating company to find the love of his life.
Shelby has never been lucky in love and decides to use the dating company as it worked out well for her best friend.
When Foster's co-worker and his brothers girlfriend sets him up with his next date he is suspicious but goes with it.
The first date that they have together is so good but as its dating in the dark neither knows who it is. The chemistry between them is off the charts.
What happens when the big reveal date comes?
Loved reading this book and can't wait for more and loved the ending.

Foster and Shelby never got their shot in college. Chalk it up to bad timing, miscommunication or just two kids not being able to connect… But years later their paths crossed again as she was settling his grandfather’s estate. With a little help from Hope and Sight Unseen, they finally get their chance… Foster’s first few dating in the dark experiences were comically disastrous. But when he finally connected with “Amanda,” everything changed. I really enjoyed their story - and the inevitable blow up during the 5th date when their real identities were finally revealed.

I love the whole concept of the Sight Unseen dating app, where people can build their connections without having appearances get in the way. Each of the couples they successfully matched reappear in later stories in this series, so I enjoy seeing what they’re up to as well. I hope we see more of Foster and Shelby in later books.

Finally found real love, even if she doesn't want to believe it!

Foster and Shelby are so tender and sweet together. A match made in heaven, years ago in college, except both were too chicken to try! They meet first after not seeing each other for 12 years at her office, she's an estate lawyer and he's come into a pile of money when his grandfather passes away! This dating service is incredible, blind dating set up by a computer! Destiny sure stepped in on this one, even before they signed up. She is convinced happiness just isn't meant to be for her, she is so wrong, I think? He made a mistake 12 years ago and now she's positive he's done it again, just to humiliate her! But he's begging her to listen to him, to let him explain, to give him another chance. But, she doesn't want to be fooled again! Can she believe him?

I voluntarily gave my honest opinion in this review of the ARC of this book and eager for the next!

I received this book as an ARC reviewer and voluntarily leave my honest opinion.

Shelby and Foster went to college together. She had a crush on him that she never told anyone of as she never thought that he will fall in love with someone like her. Foster had the same feeling for her but never take a step forward as well. After 10 years, Shelby needs a date for her friend's wedding so she was convinced to join the blind dating app. On the other hand Foster entered the same blind dating app. The rest I will let you read as there was much more to the book. I love every single page of this book. As its a series you get to see other characters from previous books and can be read as a standalone. It's a second chance book that will make you want to devour it in one day. Worth every second I spent on this book. Highly Recommended!

I truly enjoyed this book as part of the Sight Unseen series. In this book, we get to learn more about Foster, who works for Sight Unseen, but hasn't been lucky in love. He suddenly comes in to an inheritance, and by surprise, the estate lawyer is Shelby, an old crush from college. Shelby secretly crushed on Foster too, but these two silly kids didn't ever give in to their feelings back then.
Foster tries our his dating service and has three strikes, before Hope finds him the perfect date - Shelby! These two date in the dark under fake names and sparks fly!
I really enjoyed this story, because it's not as easy as finding the one and falling in love. They both have real world problems and issues, that both help and hurt their relationship. Will they end up happy in love, or sad and lonely?
I received this book as an ARC for my voluntary review.

This book is about Foster and Shelby getting their chance. Foster finds out that he is inheriting something from his grandfather, who is was named after. He runs into Shelby at the law firm that handles inheritance settlements. At first, he doesn't remember who she is but she does. They had been in the same dorm through school they both attended. She had a big crush on him but didn't think she fit with his dating style. He had a crush on her too but was to nervous to do anything about it. Hope gets him to do a Sight Unseen profile after he finds out his grandfather left him with a large sum of money. Shelby joins Sight Unseen after her friend finally gets her to and unknown to both Shelby and Foster, Hope sets them up together. Their chemistry was instantaneous. I really love how everything worked out.

Foster and Shelby went to college together and were in the same super smart people dorm. Shelby was an introvert and had a crush on Foster from the beginning. He liked her but wasn’t sure if she was interested and decided not to ask her out. Now 10 years later Foster was left with tons of money from his rich grandfather and Shelby works on Estates. Foster is working in a place he loves helping people find love. Foster's brother who has already gone through the program finally convinces him to go through the process and Shelby's best friend convinces her she must have a date for her wedding and should try Sight Unseen since it worked for her. During the first four dates they use fake names and don’t know who either person is. Both have instant chemistry and can't believe how well they get along like it’s almost too good to be true. Loved this series so much.

Last time we had Porter’s story and his brother Foster was in charge of finding his perfect match. Now Foster has been talked into diving into the Sight Unseen program. After running into his college crush Shelby, he decides he might need to try out the program he works for. Shelby runs into Foster when she is in charge of handling Foster’s unexpected inheritance. Shelby is also needing a date for her best friend’s wedding and decides to bit the bullet and give Sight Unseen a try. Well, what happens when Tyler and Amanda (aka Foster and Shelby are matched together)?
Weston delivers another wonderful match making storyline well worth reading. I don’t know how he does it but he always writes a great storyline with likeable characters. I received an arc copy of this book and I am freely leaving my review.

This series is so good

I love the way Weston parker creates these universes of characters. Each book ties into the other, but you don't need to read the previous ones to understand the plot. And each character has their flaws that Weston loves to exploit. You will love the way both Shelby and Foster overcome their pasts to see a future for each other.

Foster and Shelby both had a crush on each other in College, but never acted on it. They were both too shy to make the first move. So fast-forward about 10 years later and you see they both have never found that one because they were always pining for the other.

I loved the Blind Date aspect of this series. And this one was a bit different from the others. This was a slow-burn romance that was well worth the anticipated finale.

I don’t know how he does it but Weston Parker knows how to keep your interest in a story from the first to last chapter. I absolutely loved the story behind Shelby and Foster. It was the perfect blend of their past and a great way to introduce them in the future. It showed how hard it is to put yourself out there.

For most of the story I kept thinking they were perfect and was starting to think that the big climax was that they had a perfect friendship and therefore would sail into the sunset with no real issues. Then on their big reveal day…all hell breaks lose. I never saw it coming.

I loved the way they get to their HEA but don’t want to give anything away. Will say, it’s a great read and a definite 5 star recommendation from me.

Book was far more than expected. I really enjoy the reminders of the successful couples and the fact that each couple played a role in each book of series. be happy with the “new” partners? One way to find out..
This book is about Shelby and Foster.
Foster is Shelby’s college crush.
They get matched up by Sight Unseen which is a dating app that allows you to date your match…in the dark.
Will Foster be amazed or appalled on FIFTH date?
Or will Shelby be overjoyed by the fact that she’s dating her college crush?
Will they even get to the fifth date?
MUST READ TO FIND OUT
Best decision of November…..or one of them. Ali Parker’s are also unforgettable. Then there’s Jacob.
Basically ANY books with Parker as last name is exceptional!

I so enjoyed this book! It’s the latest in the Series about the Sight Unseen series, and while you can read it in its own some of the characters of previous books feature heavily so I would recommend reading them in order. This time it is Shelby and Fosters turn, although for a large part of the book they are also Amanda and Tyler! Shelby is maid of honour at her friends wedding, and would love to have a plus one and not be the odd single girl at a wedding, again! Foster starts realising all those around him are settling down and maybe it’s his time too and he agrees to allow his brother and his brothers fiancée to set him up on some dates, can they find him the perfect girl? I was rooting for these characters throughout, a thoroughly enjoyable read which I received as an ARC

This was such an incredibly sweet, slow-burn story. After our previous couples broke so many rules on their way to their Happily Ever Afters, it was kind of refreshing to watch Foster and Shelby behave themselves. It also makes for some ultra spicy final chapters in the book, because that much restraint needed to be rewarded. I loved the second-chance feel of this story. Even though they hadn’t ever been an official couple, they were still “the one that got away” for each other, and it made me so happy to see them finally get their chance. I adore this series and I can’t wait to see where the author will take it next.

Foster O'Brien and Shelby Lowe knew each other in the Honors Dorm in college.  They had crushes on each other, but didn't act on them then and were clueless about the other's feelings.  Fast forward 12 years and they meet again when Shelby is the attorney assigned to perform the duties of transferring Foster's inheritance to him from his deceased, yet estranged, grandfather.  They admit their former crushes on each other, and then each independently sign up on the blind dating app, Sight Unseen and get matched to each other.  Drama ensues, but they ultimately reach their HEA.  I really liked this book because I think it stressed the need for family reconciliation.

This is a great series by Wes Parker. Each book has its own characters that tie to other books in the series, but each book is independent. The plots are creative, this one especially so and I loved it.
This is one of the hardest reviews because I loved the book so much that I’m finding it hard to find the right words!
You’ll be enthralled with the creative way Mr Parker has Shelby and Foster meet again, after knowing and crushing on each other in college. The creative plot has them date in the dark, falling in true like and then each comes face to face with past fears.
This is a delightful story. I hope there are more books in this series yet to come.

This is Book 3 in the A Match Me Up Novel Series by this author. It is a lighthearted romance between Shelby and Foster. These characters are likeable, the connection strong, and the unique plot makes for an entertaining read. What starts out as a blind date turns into something more. It is a slow burn love story filled with drama, misunderstandings, insecurities, twists and turns, plus interesting secondary characters. An engaging page turner. It can be read as a standalone but you enhance your reading pleasure if you read the other books in the series.

Who needs sight to fall in love?

I’m wildly in love with the thought of a dating service where you can’t see the other person for the first 4 dates to really get to know them! It’s even better when you’re set up by your meddlesome sister in law with the one who got away!

Foster is the epitome of sweet guy with zero clue. And Shelby was so tentative and unsure of his feelings as Foster that she almost let it wreck it all!

The twists and turns that this story brought made me wanting more and more and more. I refused to believe the last page was the last page!

I received a free copy of the steamy Seattle set novel Never Let Go: A Match Me Up Novel by Weston Parker, and this review was given freely.
A complicated slow-burn romance with a steamy finish.
Twelve years after secret interest and insecurities lead to hurt feelings, Vice-President of Operations at Sight Unseen, Foster O’Brien is reunited with Shelby Lowe, when she makes him one of the wealthiest men in Seattle. Unfortunately, a well-meaning bet and interference from Hope unknowingly threaten their growing bond.

The concept of dating in the dark has lots of promise...(personally, sounds frightening). Foster and Shelby are not the same people they were a decade ago. Both forced to use the dating service by some devious friends, they meet again without knowing they knew each other in college. Needless to say, you need to keep reading to see how it ends. The characters are very well developed with all their insecurities that got them there in the first place. This is perfect weekend read with an HEA

I was given this book as part of the ARC team for early review. Review is given freely.
