The eye of the storm… Can be murder. Real estate rehabber and amateur sleuth, Flora Abner, is dismayed when a fierce storm breaks some of her windows and causes others to leak.
The bad news is that all of them need to be replaced. The worse news is that the installers can’t replace all of them in one day, so Flora decides to spend the night at a friend’s house, rather than sleeping in her window-less bedroom.
When she returns the next day, she makes a horrific discovery. Someone broke into her home to rob it and left behind something terrifying.
Even more blood curdling, however, is the realization that, based upon the clues she discovers, whoever tried to rob her house had to have known about the broken windows, or known that she would be gone overnight.
Which means the person behind the crime… Had to be someone she knows.
Not knowing who to trust, Flora continues to investigate, before more than her windows are broken. Can she crack the case before she becomes a victim? Find out in this exciting Cozy Mystery!
When Cozy Mystery author, Patti Benning, isn’t busy plotting the deaths of multiple fictitious characters, she loves to spend time hiking with her rescue dog, Max, who is her bestest writing buddy.
Patti loves to cook and the food in her books has been tried and tested in her very own kitchen. She’s technologically shy, and stays away from social media a great deal, because it makes her feel more awkward and introverted than meeting someone face to face.
Writing is the perfect job for her because in her books, she gets to explore all the topics she loves, food, animals, crafts and reading. She loves her readers dearly, and is thankful for the opportunity to share with them through her work.

I would recommend this series and author to 👍 readers of romantic family and friends relationships adventure mystery novels 👍🔰. 2024 👒😉😀😡
I love this series although this particular book is one of my favorites so far. The characters have a bit more depth now and are becoming more multifaceted. The storyline is creative and well written. The mystery is well plotted and complex enough to be interesting but not impossible to figure out. Great book to curl up with for a few hours!
This was the sixth in the new Real Estate Rescue cozy mystery series. Flora Abner is working on fixer-upper in Warbler, Kentucky. A bad storm wreaks havoc in the neighborhood. An upstair window gets broken and other ones downstairs were leaking. Unfortunately Flora needs to have them replaced and it will take a couple days to complete the work. So she and her cat head into town to stay with Violet. While she’s gone, her house is burglarized and a dead body is lying on the floor. But who knew she was going to be away? So she begins to investigate to figure out who she can trust and who she can’t. It’s always fun to escape for a short period and read about Flora and her new life in a small town. Great quick cozy mystery!
Another exciting, suspenseful cozy in this series and I was never completely sure whodunit until the showdown which was short but good. I love that Flora and Grady were getting closer and actually a couple. But someone else didn’t seem to realize that, so I wonder how that’s gonna play out. Can’t wait to read the next book, and if I was Flora I know I’d never be able to leave these awesome friends she’s made.
What else can Flora endure as she renovates her new home?
Seems there is a stranger lurking around her house at night. Flora will have to figure who the culprit is before they do serious harm to her and her house. A sharp quick read that will have you wondering who it is and what they are after.
The work on the house is going well until a storm comes through and sends a tree through the guest room window. On looking closer she realizes most of the other windows have leaks. Making the decision to replace all the windows she has to move out for a night. From there she finds another body and the mystery heats up. A fun read.
My biggest regret is that I have to wait for the next book! Flora is a wonderful character along with Grady and all the others. I can hardly wait to see how it all turns out?!
Wind storms are dangerous and can become destructive!
Well who knew that a bad wind storm can get the windows all replaced as needed. But there is always a glitch in getting things done. But I like the dating thing and friendships too.
A lot is happening in this book. Poor Flora has to deal with more setbacks in her house Renovations. Well written book/ series. I look forward to the next one.
