Fascinating reading a book compiled in 1984, not only for the articles, but also for the slice of history. Movies such as Tron, Alien and Blade Runner are brand new. 2001 and Clockwork Orange are recent history. The articles on the recent (for the time) improvements in computer animation were most interesting to me, with more than one author discussing the "near future possibility" of fully computer animated movies. Due to the age of the book, a lot of movies are discussed that I hadn't heard of, that I'll now need to try to track down, which was the main reason I bought this book to begin with. The interview with Sigourney Weaver (at the time only new to movies) was also fascinating, but it is a pity she is one of only a few representations from women in a book of 40 or so articles. Another sign of the times.

Overlooked compared with Peary's more famous 'Cult Films' titles, perhaps because it looks like a 'for hire' gig. Well worth seeking out.
