An excellent guide for budding pianists, Czerny's Practical Method for Beginners has served as an instructional beacon for over 150 years. In this Modern Edition, contemporary composer Grant Dersom rejuvenates the printed score by editing with modern techniques, while drawing from reliable, older editions. Includes fingerings, footnotes, and "Notes for Absolute Beginners": an introductory guide on reading sheet music.
Definitely the best for beginners! If you want to improve hand independence and your sight reading skills, then this book may help. Unlike other piano finger exercises, Czerny’s works did not just focus on the exercises intended for finger dexterity and agility but he made sure that the pieces are musical. This makes practice more fun and relaxing.
Each exercise is written in a way to help you master a particular technique. Don’t attempt it without a teacher; there are a lot of wrong ways to play this. Musically, it’s somewhat boring. Best practiced alongside something more musically rich to keep you interested in your practice.
