Good reference

Well written. Poorly edited. Despite the poor editing I still enjoyed this short ebook & feel that I have learned from it.

This is a run-of-the-mill collection of formulas and recipes, none of which are new or particularly interesting.

The major problem in the Kindle edition is the fact that there are pages after pages which repeat themselves which makes the book unusable. Further, the author included photographs as illustrations, but it looks as if many of them don't show up and there are big blank spaces with a photo caption and no photo.

I got this as a freebie, but today it's priced at $4.99. Even if the Kindle edition were perfectly formatted, this would be too much. Skip this one. You can find the same recipes on the Internet for free or in previously published books.

Covers a lot

This book not only covers the beauty aspect of Mother Nature, but the healthy side as well. There are recipes for lip balms, shampoos, and lotions. You'll also find many remedies for common ailments. The author also explains the various herbs and where to find some of the ingredients in the stores. She also provides websites that supply many of the ingredients or offer their own natural products. There are also sites with even more recipes.

This should be called "Things you Can Make out of Herbs" instead of "Homemade Cosmetics". I don't consider ointments for rashes cosmetics... they are medicinal, not cosmetic. The information wasn't presented well and would have worked better with sections and an index. Part of this book is extreemly helpful if you know nothing about herbs, but I think further warnings against ingesting unknown plants should be stressed. Good info, random pictures, bad format, bad title. 2.5 stars

I got this as a free e-book, and as my 2 star rating says - it was okay. The author has a number of simple cosmetic recipes and her instructions are easy enough to follow. The formatting was a little odd on my kindle and I wanted the overall information organized a bit better. There's nothing wrong with this booklet, I've just read better collections.
