[Siren Everlasting Classic Erotic Alternative Futuristic Paranormal Romance, M/M, shape-shifters, HEA] I should have kept my big mouth shut. That's all Sari Thorne can think as he's escorted to a hotel in protective custody after witnessing a murder. Before he can testify, though, someone is sent to eliminate Sari. He flees and finds safety with a handsome man who changes his life in ways he never could have dreamed. Alpha Maxwell Consenza is at the hotel for a meeting when he notices a man being escorted inside by three guards, a man who bears the unmistakable mark of a Chekota Breeder. Max doesn't think twice about helping Sari escape. He takes the man to his home in the Yosemite forest, where he tries to convince Sari that it's his destiny to help carry on the race of gifted panther shifters. Sari thinks Max is insane. But when danger follows Sari to the forest, Max must keep Sari safe while helping him come to terms with his destiny, and what it means to be caressed by an alpha. ** A Siren Erotic Romance
Lynn Hagen loves writing about the somewhat flawed, but lovable. She also loves a hero who can see past all the rough edges to find the shining diamond of a beautiful heart.
You can find her on any given day curled up with her laptop and a cup of hot java, letting the next set of characters tell their story.
Sari is a human who is basically kidnapped by Maxwell to be his broodmare. At first Sari tries to be strong and escape but soon folds like a cheap suit and just goes along with whatever Maxwell wants. Lots of plot holes and miscommunication or total lack of communication between the 'love interests' is a huge part of the plot which ticked me off on top of the pretty much forced mating and forced breeding. The world building is a bit weak too. There was at least some witty dialogue though. The end was left hanging so you would go on to the next book but I am not sure I want to continue on with a series if it means that we'll see people forced to become pregnant and stay with bossy men against their will but that gets glossed over and excused because of the mating trope that has become so popular with paranormal romance.
I just couldn't get past the whole deal where he takes Sari home intending to use him as a broodmare...er, stallion *confused now* without telling him anything about what is going on. I wasn't happy with that. I wasn't happy with how easily Sari forgave (and accepted not only that men could get pregnant, but that he was one of those men). And I wasn't happy with the fact that Sari didn't want to get pregnant right away but Max just ignores that.

Sari is a young man who witnessed a murder. After his police protection detail is murdered he runs from the assassin straight into the arms of alpha panther shifter Max. For the first time in hundreds of years a Chekota breeder has been found. Those who can bare the panther children with special gifts. Only Sari does not know this being “human” and all why would he. Max takes Sari cross country to his home in Yosemite where for the first time in his life Sari feels like he can fit in even if he does name the fish, wears magenta rubber boots while tending the garden and tries to milk the male goat. Max is the head of a corporation which specialises in eco friendly construction as shifter by nature are eco conscious. Between trying to convince Sari to trust him and Sari adamantly stating men cannot get pregnant a threat arises. The man who Sari was to testify wants him dead and the alpha of another pride wants him for himself. But the threat is deeper than anyone realises to an immortal who has resurfaced to once again try to wipe out the chekota breeders and the shifters.
Personally I do enjoy Lynn Hagen's work as a guilty pleasure for fluff reading but in this novel I was very disappointed. The pacing felt way of as in rushed and we are left wondering about connections between various people by the end. Apart from some witty and interesting remarks from Sari there is not much going for it. It appears that the author has joined the ranks of some other authors and decided to do an mpreg series, as if we don't have enough of those already floating about. If you enjoy an mpreg series then this may be for you, for myself it just comes across as a rehash of an already overused formula in other serials. Perhaps this may change and develop as the series progress we shall have to wait and see.

I liked this. I thought Sari was funny when he got wound up. I did think he gave in too easily though. Max was kind of a dick, especially when he didn't listen to Sari and his concerns.
I wasnt sure about my rating till the end. Sometimes I wanted to give 4.5 stars and others 4. There was a part in the book that almost made my rate drop to the second option, bcs the author needed to explain more about what was going on and why some of the things she was writing about were happening. The book stars with Sari being escorted by 3 cops to a hotel. He is under protective custody after witnessing a murder. Sari knows he should have keep his mouth shut, but seeing that poor man being shot and then his body lying in a pool of blood had made him run to the police and tell them what he had seen. Now he is sure the killer will come for him, and he is not wrong. He cant understand why the cops put him in an hotel and not in a safe house, he wants to run away and at the same time he wants to hit himself for going to that club the same day those men were planning a killing, not that he could have known it anyway. Max, is a panther and an Alpha and he is in the same hotel for a meeting, when he sees Sari he is shocked to find out that the man is a Chekota Breeder. A man that can get pregnant with a shifter partner. Max wants to know why the man is escorted and why he seems so scared, but this is not the right time to find out, later he will go search for the man's room. Sari is in the bathroom and his guards in the bedroom, 2 are sleeping and the other one is near the window. Sari is planning to escape but he isnt sure how he will be able to do it, he is thinking about a plan when he hears a gunshot, someone is shooting in the next room and using a silencer to avoid the noise. While the agressor is distracted, Sari runs out of the room and literally in Max's arms. Max doesnt understand why Sari is running, but his instincts tell him to take the man and run. Someone is following them and also if Sari doesnt trust Max, he doesnt have a choice, he needs to follow him, if he wants to live.
They escape from the hotel and take a car. Max is taking Sari to his pack land, where he will be safe. Sari attempts to escape were funny, I liked the guy he was feisty and witty. Max sometimes was a bit too pushy but in the end he never did something that Sari didnt want. Before they can arrive to Max's land, they almost get killed by some men shooting at them, men that work for the Alpha of the neighboring lands. Max cant understand why that Alpha wants to kill them, the other man had always wanted his lands but this is a bit too extreme and he is sure that no one knows about him having a Chekota Breeder. Max and Sari and the other 6 men in the pack all start living in the same house. Sari and Max interections were fun, and I liked their bickering and how Sari wasnt scared of Max. Actually when the man tells him that he is a Chekota Breeder and that he wants him to have his pups, Sari just thinks that the man is crazy and ignores him. Max is protective, pushy, and smart. He was a good Alpha, he cared for his men and for his soon to be mate, and also if sometimes I didnt like how he acted bcs he was a bit forceful in wanting to keep Sari and breed him, in the end he didnt make a move, he was only talk, and when he understands that Sari doesnt want to get pregnant and wants to leave, also if his heart breaks he agrees. Yes, in those 2 weeks, he tries to woo Sari and make him change mind, but he doest take him without his consent, and when they have sex is bcs Sari wants it. Maybe Sari thinks that the "pregnant thing" is all a lie, but he still makes a choice to have sex with Max and he knew there was that possibility.
In the last pages of the book we see some men kidnap Sari, they are working for that other Alpha and for the man Sari had seen kill that guy in the alley. This was the part that almost made me change the rating. There are too many things without an explanation. The killer (forgot the name) seems to be an immortal that wants to kill all Chekota Breeders, we dont know how hebecame immortal, what he is and why he wants to kill the Chekota Breeder. When that Alpha kidnaps Sari, and Max rescues him we see that some cars were arriving at the man's house, but we dont know who they are and why all that cars were going to his house, and we dont even know if that man(the alpha forgot also his name), is still alive and what is his relationship with that immortal dude....
Too many questions, lets hope we will find some answer in the next book.
In the end Sari is back home and when he finds out that he really is pregnant he wants to cut Max's balls off, and actually punches him xD But like Max, Sari is all words, in the end when the big panther kisses him he cant refuse, he loves him and the feeling is mutual. The book was too short and maybe went too fast, but wasnt bad. I liked the MCs they were funny and cute together, none of them was shy or inexperienced and when they made love it was hot.

2.49 stars. I wanted to give this 3 stars because I enjoyed it, but the ending was so... lame. It all wrapped up very quickly. Sari was saved and the bad guys are still out there, still a threat; nothing's been solved.
Lynn Hagen is one of those guilty pleasure reads for me. I know they aren't the greatest writing but I just love them. This book had great potential and I do want to read more, hoping it gets better. The problem with this one was that it was rushed through. I didn't get a feel for the characters or the world. On top of all that the story thread you think is the main thread is barely address and then just ignored. Very disappointing. I am really hoping this changes in future books. I will read the next since Jack was a character that intrigued me, but I really hope the author is putting more plot and better development into the rest of the series.
very disappointing. while I love my m/m books and some Mpreg books, this one just fell flat on its face. the characters were stale at best and one dimensional. the story/plot was practically nonexistent, which is too bad because it could of had potential... although this will not stop me from reading the next that is surely to come. sometimes the first book was a no go.
I felt bumps in the roadway of information. Basically, didn't find this a smooth flow of reading, at times feeling a little jagged. The storyline as potential so will continue to see how it plays out.
3.75 stars. I really like this one. Love the alpha and the smaller mate. Loved the storyline. Hated the ending. One: Sari gets shot up with a mystery drug and as soon as they get back, Max takes him to bed instead of the doctor. And then it just ended. Really hated that part.
This was a light fun read. It reminded me of some other characters from fanfiction of a TV show, which kept it really entertaining. I'm gonna read these all in one sitting since they aren't that long.
I had to give this book a solid 5! It's a typical Lynn Hagen book and yet so much more! I love the writing, character, the dialogue, the whole story arc! I can't wait for the next book!
The circumstances and the whole shifter/breeder scenario were a bit farfetched and tiring, even with the special 'gifts' thrown into the mix (which seemed like overkill to me).
