Some curses cannot be broken. They must be faced.

As a teacher, a wife, and a mother, Anna Atticus Stone craves peace. But being a warlock champion means protecting the kingdom. It also means watching over her unruly daughter, Thia, who’s fallen for a boy.

A boy who happens to dabble in—of all things—necromancy.

When that boy—and a deadly figure from Anna’s past—involves Thia in an illegal warlock tournament, Anna must consider dusting off her dueling skills. But not all is as it seems, and when Anna discovers Thia has been cursed, she finds herself in an epic battle for her daughter’s soul.

A battle that threatens to drag the entire family into Hell.

Anna faces her worst nightmares in this spell-binding and emotional finale to the Chronicles of Anna Atticus Stone, which delves into the life of one of the most beloved characters from the bestselling series The Arinthian Line.

Fantastic

Anna's prequels for the Arinthian Line are just outstanding. They tell us who she was before, go in depth to some things hinted at in The Arinthian and Fury series without spoiling either of those in any way, and still leave me wanting more. I loved seeing Anna as a mother and a teacher. My heart is broken for the tragedies that befall her, especially in this book.

I could not put the book down for more than a few moments. The story was so compelling and rich with detail, intrigue, and mystery. There's a depth to Anna's character that is so interesting to watch unfold. The task of being a teacher, a champion, a hero, a mother, and a wife up against threats, continued learning, morality, curiosity, honor, and legacy.
I'm still mentally stuck in this world and am now going to dive back into all of it!

Maybe it is just how it compares to other books I read recently, but this does feel a lower quality than the previous books. As Sever says, it is his first time writing in thia age range and with someone who is going through a lot of emotions, and some.

I was also confused about the ending - I hadn't checked the timeline but I expected her to somehow blow up something and blame it on a fight with a necromancer. The mindless orphan now becoming bad again ... then the grandson... it just feels very coincidental.

Maybe I need to reread the original series again for things to fit!

I didn't hate the story, but think it falls short and maybe writing more about the original trio in the Arinthian line is still the peak.

great series, just ok book

I have really enjoyed these books. This one had many good parts to the story that were exciting and kept me wanting to know more. But there was so much depression and sadness and anger and arguing and family drama throughout this whole book that it was hard to want to read on. It killed some of the excitement of reading through the story.
There were glimpses of awesomeness, action, exploration, as seen in all the other books, but the rest of it for me was a chore to get through. Most of those book was reading about their personal turmoils and psychologic struggles. Regardless, I look forward to whatever books are added to this series and will definitely read those too.

I loved this whole series. I haven’t gotten to read the original series yet, but I’m so excited to! I loved getting to know Anna and everyone else in her life, and I even loved feeling the losses with her. I’m not usually one to cry over books, but the amount of times I caught tears slipping down my cheeks is unimaginable. Sever Bronny is so talented at world building, and I’m honored to have had a chance to engage in what his mind created.

Plus, I’m a sucker for a good magic system, and these books didn’t disappoint. I think these books are a gift, and I’m so glad I decided to read them on a whim (and extremely grateful that they’re available for free through Kindle Unlimited).

This book was a brilliant conclusion to an amazing series. An amazing my start to my first couple of books in 2024. I can't describe how much I love this series. Sever Bronny is an amazing author whose work always has me spellbound. I love the world he created so much and this prequel series was an excellent look at it and also added so much context into one of my favorite characters in Arinthan Line! I thought he did an amazing writing a main character who was out of the mindset of his usual main characters and type of story. The drama and magic in this book had me at the edge of my seat! I loved seeing Anna's later years and her interactions throughout the book. I was deeply moved through reading this at the intensity of this book. I eagerly await more of Sever's writing and can't wait to read the trios journey again. I will say that one of my favorite things about this book was the easter eggs, which involved the previous books. It's a super amazing read; I highly recommend this author and all of his series. Also loved the magic system explanation in this book.

This story, this world, this magic system…… just wow

I love everything about what Bronny has made in this world. I need more, more lore, more spell, more adventure. He has put hints in what we will see in the next series if you paid attention, at least I believe so and I’m sooo excited to get more. But back to this book, it was the heaviest we have seen. Normally I devour these book but this one, this one was brutal to a character I love, that I had to read it over several week not just bc it’s the last in the series but bc I’m not sure if I could live through what she experienced. I hurt for her. But man is she amazing in a fight. I wish we could get two short clips of her, fighting Narsus and when she became a master. Both epic event I would love to read about. I hope we get someone becoming a Master, maybe Augum? Thanks Bronny

Explanation of a dear character.

This was interesting. We've read stories about learning magic, school experiences with magic and finding the magic new and exciting. This was a totally different take. There is still new magic, but this is different because while you are learning life happens. Anna is older. You know she goes through a lot of difficulty. You know she doesn't have her husband anymore. She doesn't have her children. She is alone. It is good to better understand her. I love the books. This was probably my least favorite, but it is like episode 3 of Star Wars or The Doors of Stone that will leave Kvothe broken which I may never get to read. It would be hard to write. Thank you. I LOVE Anna as a character from young and brilliant to older, wiser and still brilliant. It helps bridge the gap and appreciate the journey. Thank you!! Please keep writing!!

I am an Advanced Reader and I was given an Advanced Copy of Flames of Stone

I am a huge fan of Sever’s entire line of books, and Flames of Stone is no exception. There is a lot to like about this book, and I feel that it reveals a lot about both the positive and negative aspects about a life well lived. There is a great mixture of triumph and heartache, both of which enrich this book and the Chronicles of Anna Atticus Stone series. I highly recommend this book as well as the other books in the series. High praise!

Authors best work

The world building is good, pacing is great, and character development is phenomenal. This is the best book written by this author, hands down.

Note to the author: quit using the same character names for 3 different storylines. It confounds the reader and creates continuity issues. I enjoy your writing style but can not continue reading your work because it is too mentally draining to keep a cohesive big picture in mind. STOP. There is a reason this isn't done. You are suffocating your own work. Make it make f******g sense.

Strong ending!

This of the trilogy ties all the loose ends together. Anna, the main character is an adult who has faced woe and sorrow since childhood. But in the last is tested with greater sorrows, and all her arcane will as well as experience will be necessary for her survival. Very well written, intense, and I am satisfied with the ending. On a note, I suggested the first novel was a book for youths, but I think it's more likely that teen to adult might be more likely.

For fans of the Arinthian Line and Fury of a Rising Dragon, the third installment of Chronicles of Anna Atticus Stone delivers on questions that have spanned across multiple series.

Long time readers of Sever Bronny will also be delighted as several longstanding storylines come to conclusion.

I've been on the edge of my seat awaiting this book and it was well worth it! Mrs. Stone is a truly captivating character and her story was told brilliantly! Even though I anticipated Narsus, I was nonetheless bewildered by how it played out. This is an author I will follow for a long time!

Bittersweet

All i can say is that i am grateful to have read this masterpiece, despite the sheer sorrow it evoked.
Despite not being even remotely in Mrs Stone's shoes, this left me feeling complete.

Chronicles of Anna Atticus Stone Series

Mr. Bronny has a way of weaving a story together and making it where you can't put it down until you have read it from cover to cover. I look forward to reading all of his books and have read all of them so far multiple times.

This book answers some questions, but it leaves more questions to be asked and answered in future books. I sincerely hope more books do indeed follow.

Worth it!

My favorite author. Seeing the journey that turned Mrs Stone into a cranky grandma that can through down with the best of them, you did her justice! Thank you Sever!
