He’s as cocky as they come, and she’s only interested in playing it safe.
Rookie Lucy de Costa doesn’t break the rules, and she sure as hell doesn’t fall for other firefighters.
Especially not when they make her feel as reckless as veteran rescue squad firefighter Sam Faurier does. With his overconfident attitude and his scorching-hot smile, she needs to keep him at arm’s length if she wants to stay on the straight and narrow.
But when he makes a split-second decision that gets them both in over their heads on a call, Lucy is the only person who can help him catch a ruthless arsonist.
Even if she can’t resist catching feelings for her sexy bad-boy partner in crime, too…
Boiling Point is a short, sexy prequel to the full-length standalone, Sizzle. It contains an extended bonus scene that will not be published with the full-length book, as well as hot banter, delicious tension, and a cliffhanger that leads to the novel.
USA Today best-selling author Kimberly Kincaid writes romantic suspense that sizzles and contemporary romance with heart and heat. Equal parts action and emotion, her firefighters and first responders always save the day. When she's not finding adventure with her family and naughty Whippets, Olive, Daisy, and Jack, she can be found practicing obscene amounts of yoga, whipping up anything from enchiladas to éclairs in her kitchen, or curled up with her nose in a book.
Kimberly's series include The Intelligence Unit, Remington Medical, Station Seventeen, and her brand-new Remington Rescue Squad series. All titles stand alone for easy reading.
Great Beginning!! This is a great introduction to the newest series Remington Rescue Squad. We also get to see the beginning of the relationship between Lucy de Costa and Sam Faurier. I can already see this is going to be fun with this pair getting together. Can’t wait to read the rest of their story.
Boiling Point is the prelude to Sizzle…featuring Lucy de Costa and Sam Faurier❣️
Lucy is attracted to Sam when she meets him, unfortunately she has rules that she doesn’t want to break, so she turns him down just as quickly. Fast forward a few years, Station Seventeen is called to a fire on the not so great side of town. All told to stand down, Sam catches movement and concerned there might be someone inside, he breaks commands orders and he goes in. Lucy follows him in, ever the by the book rulekeeper😳
I can’t wait to see what happens next…my only complaint is February feels like it’s ages away😢
Boiling Point is the prequel to Sizzle and part of the new Remington Rescue Squad series by Kimberly Kincaid and oh what a way to start! Can’t wait for Sizzle…as this book starts the slow burn…between Lucy and Sam…
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy (ARC) of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed this beginning of Lucy and Sam’s sizzling romance. This prequel does not get us to their HEA, it is just the start of the sizzling chemistry and attraction between them and the set up for the suspense in their upcoming story. As long as you understand that, you’ll enjoy this prequel. Since this is a prequel to the Remington Rescue Squad series, we get some background on Lucy, a firefighter on engine, and Sam, part of the elite rescue squad, we witness the beginning of their love story and get a feel for the dynamics of Station Seventeen fire and rescue. The story ends on a sort of a cliffhanger. Despite being short, the prequel was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters, and an engaging storyline. Clearly I am going to read the rest of their story in Sizzle, book one in the series, because I am hooked in now. Bring on the suspense, the steam, and the swoons.
I absolutely loved Boiling Point by Kimberly Kincaid! I loved every page of Boiling Point, and it was impossible to put it down. Boiling Point is the debut novella for Kimberly Kincaid’s new series, Remington Rescue Squad. I really enjoy how the book is told from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. I also enjoy that Kimberly has included characters from her other series in the new Remington Rescue Squad series. It was nice catching up with the other characters that I have grown attached to. It is like a family reunion. Once again Kimberly Kincaid has shown that she is an incredible storyteller who delivers sizzling romances, and she continues to be one of my favorite authors. Boiling Point is the heartwarming and heartbreaking tale of Sam Faurier, a veteran rescue squad firefighter and Lucy de Costa, daughter of the Battalion Chief and a firefighter at Station 17. The first meeting between Sam and Lucy happens three years ago at the Crooked Angel where she played pool with Sam, he has had a crush on her ever since. A call comes into the firehouse and truck and rescue respond. While on the call Sam thinks he sees someone in the window of the burning warehouse that is supposed to be empty. Sam heads inside the burning warehouse to search for the person he thought he saw. Lucy joins him in his search. The fire quickly spreads, and Lucy and Sam barely make it out. Boiling Point is filled with the plot twists that I have come to love and expect in Kimberly Kincaid's stories. I love the cast of characters in Boiling Point and I am looking forward to reading the other books in the series, especially the conclusion of Lucy and Sam’s love story. It was a wonderful story and I highly recommend it.
Sam is second in command on Elite’s Rescue Squad in the same house as Lucy. Lucy is a firefighter at Station Seventeen. Three years ago Sam tried flirting with her and she wasn’t interested. They get a call for a warehouse fire. They have strict instructions to stay out, but Sam sees someone walk by a window a few times and decides to go into save them. Lucy follows, since two people are supposed to be together at all times. So, they just ignored the rules. You’ll have to read to find out what happens next. This is a thrilling prequel. I can’t wait to read Sizzle next!
A fast-paced, exciting introduction to Sam and Lucy. Both work on the rescue squad and she has sworn to never get romantically involved with a co-worker. When they called to a fire at an abandoned building he makes a decision, against orders, and she follows. Repercussions are going to be massive, I’m guessing. This was the perfect introduction. It gave you a glimpse into the main characters, whet your appetite for what is going to happen and has you wondering if Sam was right or if he ran into the building for no reason. I can’t wait to read Sizzle and find out what happens to Sam and Lucy and if they ever act on their attraction.
This prequel intrigued, excited and amazed me. It introduced the characters well, and it set the scene for what could become a very interesting issue for Sam and Lucy.
Lucy’s past intrigues me, as does Sam’s father. Seeing as this is the first book by this author that I have read I haven’t any prior knowledge, if there’s any, from other books. It makes no difference though, as I am ready for Sizzle to release so I can devour it.
Lucy De Costa is a Battalian chiefs daughter and no longer a rookie firefighter, while Sam Faurier is a seasoned rule-breaker full of cockiness.
This novella leaves you craving the full story so we can know where they go from here, who was in that burning building, and what will be the turning point from their denied attraction to a relationship.
4+ Stars ⭐⭐⭐🌟 BOILING POINT is an intriguing prequel to the new Remington Rescue Squad series. It may be short and a cliffhanger, but it is sure to grab your attention and leave you wanting to know what’s next for Lucy and Sam, and just what is the secret Lucy’s keeping. I will be anxiously waiting to read “Sizzle” and so glad it’s coming soon!
This quick read set the pages on fire to wet our whistles for sure. Lucy and Sam will sure ignite the pages in their full book. And the little nuggets that we get as back story will make you wanting more. This can be read as a standalone.
I devoured this quick little prequel novella so fast, now I'm mad I don't have the full book! Can't wait to read more from the Station 17 crew! Someone needs to volunteer to do Kimberly Kincaid's day job for her so she can write faster!
This is the prequel to Sizzle, the first in the Remington Rescue Squad series. This is Lucy De Costa and Sam Faurier's story and it is going to be HOT! Great introduction and I'm very excited to read their story.
This novella is a fantastic introduction that makes you want to feel the heat…from a safe distance. I cannot wait to see what happens next between Sam and Lucy.
This wasn't quite what I was expecting from the blurb which is a shame. But for those new to this author it's a good intro of her writing style before committing to a full length book (which you will definitely want to do).
Boiling Point is just a small peek into the first meeting of Remington firefighters Lucy de Costa and Sam Faurier. Their personalities are definitely polar opposites but together they're steamy! I'm looking forward to reading their whole story because I want it all!
Sam Faurier and Lucy de Costa literally rush into a burning building… Kimberly Kincaid sets the scene beautifully with BOILING POINT, and I am so ready for Sizzle!! This introduction to her new Remington Rescue Squad series is a thrill a minute and just right!
Loved it!! There was action, excitement, danger & wonderful characters that got your interest from the first page. I can’t wait to read more of their story, they’re going to be a great couple!!
This novella is a fantastic introduction that makes you want to feel the heat…from a safe distance. I cannot wait to see what happens next between Sam and Lucy.
Great teaser to the first full-length book in the Remington Rescue Squad series. Kimberly Kincaid pulls you into her stories from the very first page. I can't wait to start Sizzle now!!!
