This was a great read. I really enjoyed the way it was structured, showcasing all the pairs and their unique dynamics only for everyone to inevitably be drawn to the same place in the end, through various circumstances.
This is the first time in seven volumes that I actually felt the potential chemistry between Reirin and Gyoumei, which is a good sign, though I’m not sure how much the series is going to end up focusing on that end game pairing. I definitely enjoyed Keigetsu and Keikou’s dynamic the most, from Keigetsu continued insistence on digging her heels in even when everything’s going wrong, and how Keikou sees that as one of her strengths and takes great pleasure in watching her fumble. Plus, the nickname of Keikei is just adorable.
Keishou and Tousetsu’s adventure was also very funny, kind of like an old-school over-the-top 80s Kung fu film. Unran also made an unexpected reappearance in this one, and the way he drove the plot forward was as intriguing as it was humorous.
Overall, just a great volume with the perfect blend of humor, action, and the extra antics these characters seem to always find themselves in. Looking forward to the next installment.
