“The O’Reagan's—all they do is use and abuse. Dana might be more dangerous than any other O’Reagan, with her beauty and large doe eyes.” Dana comes under Cillian's protection, much to her dismay. They instantly take a dislike to each other…until the truth starts coming out. Secrets, twists and turns to Mafia Boss that had me devouring this book. A great plot of vengeance, alpha males and action. Cillian is the main male lead, he's a Mafia Member who's dark, broody, and damn right HOT. Dana is the Mafia princess, she's beautiful, feisty, and graceful. This is an action packed, revengeful plot with spice to boot. It was gripping, and I loved Cillian and his 'ways'. This is book 4 of the Young Irish Rebels, and I'd recommend reading as a series. If you love Dark Mafia Romance, I'd recommend this.
Vi Carter is such an excellent storyteller. I love how complex the storylines are and typically love her characters, but I had a really hard time with this book. I enjoyed Cillian and thought he was a great hero, but I just found Dana to be super annoying. She whined a loot, was willfully naive, and never really grew as a person. I just couldn't see the attraction for Cillian - where it came from, how it developed, or how he stayed interested. The storyline kept me interested to the end, but Dana was just really disappointing. Like I've mentioned, I've always loved Vi Carter's stories, though, and I'll definitely be reading her next book!
Lies, secrets, betrayal. Trust. Or lack of! This series has been dark romance with a huge helping of everything else! Each read had an ensemble cast with a focus on one couple at a time. And this time out Cillian and Dana were on the hot seat…
Cillian was on a mission and Dana was his way of reaching his goal. Dana was a firebrand yet she was looking for answers too. The secrets she was going to uncover were going to blow her life apart. And Cillian, well he had to stay focused or he was going to lose everything…
This was the fourth read and the tension, the sparks did not let up. The intensity, the search for the truth – it was all there along with the uncertainty that came with it. How did love happen in the midst of a storm? Well, with a whole lot of anger and revelations included. Somehow they managed it, the drama surrounding them making their decisions even harder, their desires amped up even more. An emotional powder keg addition the series. ~Diane, 4 stars
I wish I had read (listened to) this book first. I'll get into why in a little bit, but excluding some annoyances, this has been the best book of the series.
Cillian O'Hara is in over his head when he helps Shay O’Reagan with keeping Dana O’Reagan safe. This is definitely a keep your friends close and you're enemies closer scenario. Of course, knowing who your enemies are proves to be a challenge. 🧐
I really like how this kept me coming back for more. It was a more cohesive book, with fewer holes in the story (as long as you don't think too hard on the prior books).
Dana's inability to see the evil, even when presented with clear evidence, was... let's just say that her naïveté came out in spades. That said, I love her reasoning for turning down Cillian's numerous proposals and that he kept asking.
"I think jogging is a new favorite sport of mine." -- Cillian O'Hara
Cillian taking Dana in the woods on multiple occasions is freaking 🔥 🥵 🔥! Wowser was that a little dirty and a lot awesome.
For her bleeding heart, I can appreciate the spin that Dana was provided with on the final twist. She has shown repeatedly that she struggles with the dark truths. And I absolutely love the comeuppance that occurs, requiring the spin.
I'm going to take a moment to address an issue I have with storyline continuity. The end of book three and this do not line up. There are holes in the story, as well as the status of Shay in the Kings doesn't line up. If you've skipped to this point, which is a possibility, you'll probably enjoy it more.
I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrators are Marina Barrett and Alan Stone. Other than the extra 'r' in O’Reagan (sounding like 'O'Reargan') that frequently popped up, I really liked both narrators. Perhaps it's a regional dialect as I know places in the US where an 'r' sometimes follows 'ea' (like 'idea' being pronounced more like 'idear').
Oh my gosh!! I definitely want more!! Soooo freak’n good!!
This book was great I loved it & couldn’t get enough of it!! There’s so many twists & turns & secrets it will have you on your toes wanting to know what happens next!!
Dana is the Mafia Princess.. She’s this feisty, Strong, Beautiful & Determined to find out the truth of her family secrets..
Cillian is this Sexy, Alpha, Mafia Member who’s a freak’n beast & will do what ever it takes to protect the people who are important..
Dana gets put into Cillian’s care.. At first they hate each other but they also have an attraction to one another even at the very beginning they try to fight..
Will they be able to handle the truths & secrets that are thrown at them..??
This book definitely has some yummy steamy moments that are just freak’n amazing 🥵

“This book was given to me in exchange for my honest review."
….audio update…September 2024 Yes please!! Marina & Alan are freaking perfection🖤
I knew from the prologue that Dana & Cillian were going to epic. Holy smokes!! Cillian is dark, dangerous, super sexy and is a freaking former special ops!! HELLOOO can he get any sexier?!…uh yes yes he can…and OMG does he give good chase👅
I feel so bad for Dana. Poor thing finding out her entire life has been a lie. Then going what she goes through because of her dad. Liam is such a 🤬
Fave quotes: When will all this end?” Richard exhales and steps up to me. He grips my shoulders and dips his head. “I’m going to be honest with you. This never ends. This is our life. I’m sorry.” He releases me.—-leave it to Richard to be 100% blunt about their situation😅
A fantastic prologue and an explosive start, this story certainly packs a punch. A great plot, alpha males and plenty of action. My only niggle is that Dana is a bit too whiny hence the 4.5 stars. Recommended to anyone who loves dark mafia romance.

What a story. It is well written and developed. The characters are stunningly beautiful. The story is one that is an emotional roller coaster as there are lies betrayal. It is packed with drama that you on the edge of your seat with anticipation. It is a story that you previous characters from the other books that just adds that extra element to the story. This is a must read that you will absolutely love.
Liam O'Reagan had left the protection of his daughter Dana to Cillian, as truths come out as well as lies and secrets it becomes a very bumpy road. Why is it whenever I read a book by Vi Carter I feel like I'm jumping down the rabbit hole. There's danger, suspense, and dark romance that's makes you glad you jumped. This is Cillian and Dana's story that is filled with suspense, drama, twist and turns, loyality, betrayal, secrets, lies, chemistry, passion and desire. This was an enemies to lovers storyline, with captivating characters and a gripping story.

The way Dana’s family has sheltered her has taken its toll on her because of the lies and not knowing what to expect since she’s been hiding from danger. Cillian has been on a mission to finding his sister while tasked to babysit Dana. When they are left together the heat between these two was explosive and dirty. I was binging the book so much because I wanted to see where the suspense would lead into with these characters and the trouble surrounding them.

This story certainly packs a punch just like the previous ones do in this enthralling series. Cillian was introduced in the third book, Mafia Games, and intrigued me immensely. I was pleased to get to know him better in this book, having his point of view gave a greater insight into his personality and background. Actually, having both lead characters share the telling of the story is crucial for this exact reason.
Cillian is a dark character, but when you have a man like Liam around, everyone else seems just that tad less dark. Cillian starts out as an annoyingly, arrogant twerp and to be fair does continue to be, 😂 however, he does show some more humane characteristics too. Dana lived a sheltered life and without the family mafia background as knowledge, she ends up at a disadvantage. I liked her self-honesty, she knew her strengths and weaknesses, owned up to them, and was a lot more resilient than I would have been.
I found the exciting twists and turns absolutely mind-blowing and there isn’t a dull moment in the story, it is literally jam-packed with incredible action drama. I won’t give anything away, however, I will say I was taken by surprise and loved every minute of it and found myself on the edge of my seat in anticipation.
This epic story of betrayal and revenge, romance and suspense is fantastic and I can’t recommend it enough but you need to start at the beginning with book one, Mafia Prince, to truly gain a full understanding—such a treat though as each and every book is amazing!

Uber dark. Mind the trigger warnings because Vi Carter pulls out all the stops on this one. All her life Dana has been sheltered from the knowledge that her family is Mafia. To me, this seemed impossible for her family to pull off but I went with it. She's twenty-something now and, having been unpredictably exposed to the truth about the family "legacy," her father, Liam, then sends her to live with a bodyguard for safekeeping. Her bodyguard, Cillian, is one of the men in the upcoming generation of mafia leaders. For the most part, Cillian looks for any way he can to thwart Liam while, at the same time, he is falling hard for Liam’s daughter. The most interesting feature of this storyline is how, throughout all four books of the series, the hate toward Liam has grown exponentially among the younger generation of the family, reaching an apex in this 4th book and culminating in a major transition in leadership. No holds barred on the violence depicted in the process. However, the character studies were intriguing to see as the transition played out. I subtracted one star because of the way the author left Dana in darkness about certain realities. Nonetheless, I thought Mafia Boss was a very engaging read.
This is the 4th book of the series and all the underlying subterfuge is coming to a head. You will want to read these books in order so that you know what is going on. Baby sister Dana has been handed over to Cillian for safe keeping once she found out about the family business.
Much of the story is around Dana coming to an understanding that all she has known so far in her life is a lie. And Cillian is not only battling his own demons but trying to ignore his attraction to Dana while trying to keep her father in the dark about how much Cillian knows about the mafia operation.
Liam O'Reagan is not a good man. He hasn't been good to his family, his daughter or to Cillian and his family. The time for reckoning has come. Who will finally be the one to reign in the King?
Once again a very dark tale. Dana is a bit wishy washy to me but she will grow on you and in the end, I think she comes out a better person. In my heart, I was really hoping she would show up all those men and become the head of the mafia herself. Maybe another time. I wasn't feeling too much of the connection between Dana and Cillian other than the physical. I would have liked a bit more meat in the story around their relationship.
Great addition to the series.
*Complimentary copy provided for an honest review.
Well written Mafia drama filled with betrayal and suspense. The story started out with a bang with a fantastic prologue that hooked me into the storyline immediately. I loved the intense connection between Cillian and Dana. Cillian battled with familial loyalties while Dana struggled with the lifelong lies that shielded her from her family’s dirty lifestyle. I loved Cillian as the strong possessive alpha hero willing to sacrifice everything for Dana and her safety. Shay’s loyalty to Cillian added depth to this storyline that was filled with heart wrenching betrayal. Tons of chemistry and passion between this enemies to lovers couple that created steamy intense scenes. I was a bit disappointed that after traversing through all the lies in her life, Dana was still kept in the dark by Cillian and her family at the end. Still, I appreciated the lack of cheating, zero crazy exes, and a well deserved HEA for this likeable couple.

Verified ARC Reader Cillian was at first her enemy, then her savior! by sewsummore
This is the fourth book in the “Young Irish Rebels Series,” and I would recommend reading the previous books for better clarity and enjoyment prior to reading this book. Cillian a former SAS soldier, agrees to protect Dana, the daughter of the Irish Mafia leader in return for his help finding his kidnapped sister. Cillian had no love for a spoilt Mafia Princess and was determined to keep her safe if it meant that he would find his missing sister. Dana had only recently discovered her family were mafia royalty and was bitter and resentful as a result. Her father had her kept locked up and Cillian was her jailer. However, one night she manages to escape into the night and although Cillian finds her, he discovers that her father's enemies were searching are as well. This was an exciting and dramatic story with unexpected twists and danger for Dana and Cillian. In the beginning,Dana sees Cillian as her enemy but later as her protector and lover. Reading about their growing relationship proved entertaining and when the enemy is finally vanquished, very rewarding.

Cillian and Dana’s story finished up The Young Irish Rebels series perfectly!!!
Cillian has been asked to watch over Dana for a little bit in exchange for help with finding his sister. Cillian is gruff, barely speaks to her but makes sure the “princess” is taken care of.
Dana is in shock and still trying to process all the information she just found out, especially some that’s been hidden from her her whole life. Mentally she’s having a really big struggle trying to figure out the truths from the lies. One big truth… she’s definitely attracted to Cillian!
The chemistry between these two ignites and explodes and the forest scenes….. holy hotness!!!!
This book has twists and turns that you aren’t expecting and was the perfect way to wrap up this series and say goodbye to these characters!! Absolutely LOVED it!!!
Cillian and Dana end up living together because Dana's father, Liam, asks Cillian to take care of her because her life is in danger. In exchange, Liam will give Cillian information about his sister, who has been missing for some time. Dana has just found out that her father is a mob boss, that her life is in danger and that she has to stay hidden for God knows how long and only Cillian and Shay, her cousin, to keep her company and safe, meanwhile her father leaves her to do his thing. Dana and Cillian begin a sexual adventure that ends up turning into something more, to the point that Cillian is willing to sacrifice everything for her. Very entertaining.
Dana is a sassy sheltered mafia princess, who gets put under the protection of Cillian. Cillian is ruthlessly dark. In exchange for information regarding his missing sister, he’s tasked with protecting a spoiled mafia princess.
Hate at first sight, these two have major chemistry. I loved seeing the growth between Cillian and Dana. From sheltered princess and cold captor to something much more as secrets and lies become exposed.
Mafia Boss has everything you’d want in a mafia story….secrets, betrayal, action, passion, danger, and twists.
I was waiting for this one and Vi Carter did not disappoint! Cillian and Dana's story is every bit as dark and dirty as it's predecessors. Surprises, twists, turns and excitement are in abundance. With every turn of the page I was brought even more into this won't she's created. Cillian and Dana's beginning isn't easy of course but the road to get there is so worth it. This entire series is absolutely worth reading and Mafia Boss is another fantastic addition to the Young Irish Rebels and a hot as he*^ enemies to lovers story.
Wow I’m speechless. That was a great book. I’ve read all of the mafia books in the Wild Irish books. I know all the characters brothers, sisters, wives, husbands and kids. See how Liam O’ Reagan change over the course of all these books is amazing. Cilllian and Dana story was very exciting, I will not go into details but the twists and turns in the lies or the telling of the lies was done beautifully ending. You gotta read it. I would read all of Wild Irish series too.

Ive read the other books in this series and loved them. I was excited to read this one and fell for Cillian in a big way. Dana i found annoying at first, as she was innocent to ways of her family and the lies of her father, but as the story played out, it made more sense as to why and how she was lead in life this way. I loved their midnight chase in the forest and the whole hunter/prey games was fun to read. Shay plays a big part in this story too, which i enjoyed. It was a great way to end the series.
My heart broke for Dana, finding out her whole life was a lie, her friend and future sister-in-law killed get cousin albeit in self defense but it's still a heavy secret to carry and to top it all off her brothers hand her over to another cousins best friend for 'protection'. I love Cillian he's been made a king but always just on the outside of the 'family' . These books are so well written and the plot grips you . Bonus points to Vi for so much of my man Shay, mine not Emma's
The saga comes to an end . Dana’s story takes on a new meaning for secrets and sabotage . I loved this story . I loved the raw emotions and the dark gripping tale of what one would do for the ones they loved . The gritty details of Dana’s and Collins past come to light and we learn that sometimes family isn’t always who we think it is and they’re not always kind . I throughly enjoyed the happily ever after in this book , espically when we sometimes lie to protect the ones we love !
That felt both wrong and right, very satisfying last chapter but the epilogue kind of ruined it. Loved them as a couple but he was far too sex crazed. A bit like Haunting Adeline🤭
This is the 4th book in the series and it can be read as a standalone. With the death of his father, Cillian is now a Mafia King. To get some information on his missing sister, he agrees to protect Dana, a mafia princess. Cillian nor Dana are happy about the arrangement but what will happen when sparks begin to fly between them? Fast-paced mafia read with loads of drama, suspense and sizzling chemistry. Great characters, with plenty of depth and intense chemistry. I liked it.
The fourth book in the Young Irish Rebels is a thrilling ride full of lies, betrayals, and alphaholes!
***** Rating: 4 stars Steam: 3 flames Genre: Mafia / Enemies to Lovers / Bad boy & Good Girl ***** This is my book-crack! Mafia Boss is Cillian’s & Dana’s story and although it could be read as a standalone, I think this is best to read the series in order to get the full impact of what is happening in the book.
Cillian, a Mafia King, is angry, untrusting of the O’Reagan’s and definitely not a fan of Liam O’Reagan’s daughter, the Mafia Princess, Dana.
Dana just discovered her entire life has been a lie. Her father is mafia, her brothers are mafia, and she had no clue the entire time. She has been kept in the dark and told lies by those closest to her. Now her life is in danger and Cillian has been tasked with ensuring her safety. Dana and Cillian are enemies that have misperceptions and misunderstandings about the other that they will work through if both of them are to survive this.
Mafia boss was fast-paced and from the prologue to the last chapter you are thrown into a dark mafia world where the suspense doesn’t let up. The characters will both frustrate you, make you want to hug them, and in the end… love them. Cillian our alphaHOLE (with a capital HOLE) will make you crazy but you will fully understand what drives him as the story progresses. Dana grows into a strong woman as she sheds her blinders and begins to see people for who they actually are. The steam… I wish I could run through the forest just so Cillian can catch me.
I have enjoyed the entire Young Irish Rebels series and this book was no different. A different recommendation from me!
I was kinda confused at the beginning but once I got started I couldn’t put this book down! It says it’s a standalone but in my personal opinion it probably make more sense to read from the beginning of the series. Also it would probably make it more enjoyable too I know I plan on going back and reading from book one and so forth. I feel so bad for the girl character having to go through everything blindly her father for sure doesn’t deserve her and I love the ending of this book! I can’t wait to read more from vi carter she does a awesome job writing books!! I think you will love this book too it will keep you on your toes lol I wish the story was longer I really enjoyed it:)
