The Message of the Stars
Danish-American mystic and astrologer Max Heindel(1865-1919) is considered by some the greatest Western spiritualist of the 20th century, and with the aid of his wife, research assistant, and fellow occultist Augusta Foss Heindel (1865-1949), he helped develop the modern teachings of the esoteric Christian philosophy of Rosicrucianism. Here, in this 1918 work, the Heindels examine the art of astrology through this lens of this mysterious strain of mysticism that connects humanity to the stars. In this volume you’ll learn why the human body reacts to the vibrations of the planets that we interpret as astrology, how to interpret the complex influence of the planets on each of the signs of the zodiac, how the zodiacal signs affect human health, and which signs rule which parts of the body, how a healer can ensure his vibrations will complement his patient's for maximum therapeutic impact, how horoscopes can diagnose disease, and much more. “So that as a tuning fork which is struck, awakens the music in other tuning forks of even pitch within reasonable distance, so the planets in our solar system have in evolutionary succession struck various chords that have found an echo in the human heart.”
This book explores the link between the vibration of stars of our birth, and its effect on our physical health, appearance and behaviours. Max Heindel uses biblical passages to support his theories, and other ancient texts and beliefs. However, I personally don’t believe the biblical links are reasonable.
It’s specified that man still has free will when he chooses to conquer his stars, but that certain peoples struggle with the pull of fate, surrendering his gift of free will.
He also explores the diseases that different horoscopes make you more susceptible to which was interesting to say the least.
While this was an enjoyable read, as a Christian, I do put little weight on some things discussed in the book and some this is completely disregard as a misunderstanding of biblical text.

"We always long for, admire, and aspire to what we lack. In days of savagery when kicks and cuffs were her daily fare woman longed for a caress from her lord. The Venus ray gave her beauty and made her an adept in the feminine arts which have conquered the masculine heart, so that now he plays the role of protector on the plea that woman is not mentally competent ; meanwhile he is becoming that which he admires in her; he is more gentle and kind, Venus is conquering Mars, but the Mercury delusion of intellectual superiority needs another influence to conquer it. And this woman is now attracted by the aspiration. As she mastered martial brutality by Venus beauty, so also, will she free herself from Mercurial bondage by Uranian intuition."
