He’s a wrongfully imprisoned king sentenced to live the rest of his days chained beneath the earth. Osir, former king of all dragons, lost his crown when he killed several of his brothers in battle. Chained up and magically imprisoned in a cave deep underground, he is resigned to his fate. That is, until the beautiful, captivating servant sent to make sure he is fed bravely enters his prison. She’s used to taking orders.
Leana, a fire-controlling palace servant, has always followed orders without question. Tasked with tending to the reputedly mad king, known for his lethal actions against both dragons and magic-wielding humans like her, she's surprised to discover his kind and endearing nature. As his warmth and sincerity slowly break down her defenses, Leana begins to question everything she knows.
When her life is threatened, he becomes determined to change their fates. When Osir’s nephew threatens to send Leana to war as a fire-wielding weapon if she can’t deliver him a powerful magical artifact, Osir becomes determined to alter their destinies. With his nephew's ultimatum hanging over them, Osir strives to prove to Leana that she is his fated mate, and together they can forge a future free from chains and oppression. He envisions a world of possibilities, if only he can escape his prison, reclaim his throne, and convince Leana that she belongs at his side forever.
A he-falls-first, mating-bond spicy fantasy romance, Dragon’s Treasure is a guaranteed HEA that stands alone. If you like fated mates, dirty-talking heroes who adore their women, and heroines who grow into power, then Dragon’s Treasure is for you.
Content warnings for some violence, both on-page and off. This is an 18+ book with multiple sexual scenes.

pleasantly surprised because i came to this book expecting dragon smut and was greeted with a well thought out plot that kept me absolutely HOOKED through the entire book. and when the smut did happen? well worth the wait. loved this book. devoured this book. need this book read at my funeral.
I know I started this book in 2024 and stopped after the first few chapters. Can't remember why.
I randomly thought about it some weeks ago and wanted to give it another try but for the life of me I couldn't recall how it was called. I remembered some key details, that he was an imprisoned dragon king and that she would bring him food but other than that I got nothing.
Long story short, I finally found it yesterday and finished it. I am conflicted.
On one hand, the writing was good and the story was so interesting. I loved how she started having feelings for him because he was kind and respectful, even if she didn't know they were mates and never saw his human form. Also, she wasn't silly. She had this composure and balance about her.
Osir was so nice and treated her so well. I liked that. But it went a little too far and it got ridiculous at some point. I'm all for MMCs that worship their women but he was a bit exaggerated. He was almost subservient to her. It got icky.
Overall I liked the book but I deducted a whole star for two small, probably ridiculous things, but they took all the enjoyment in those moments.
So, this book has potential and the new cover is much better. I don't know if the series continues or not but I would like to know what happens next.
Just finished this read and I must say I was impressed. I loved the pace of this book, it was very detailed and not too fast paced. The romance was built up just right where you don’t feel like its being forced unnaturally or that we just jump into it or its a slow burn.
The male mc had me in a chokehold, his way with words and the way he devotes himself to the female mc is literal goals. I loved how this book used more words that make you feel like you are in a different generation in the past and not modernized. It really sells and feeds that deep dive adventuring into a mythological world of dragons and magic.
I adored the female mc and how she grew tremendously in such a short amount of time. And it just goes to show how much a woman can truly bloom when she is properly loved and care for. And not just by her lover but also when she finds that love, respect and confidence in herself as well. I just adore that the male mc, played a major role in her finding herself but it wasn’t soley because of him. Scenarios lead her to find herself and she becomes as baddie! And she was wasn’t portrayed as a helpless mc who needs a male to safe her, she can do that all on her own while bringing him to her knees.
The story has plenty of good fight scenes, lots of steamy spicy moments as well. The steamy sessions are in full detail btw! And has no cringey descriptions. Thank goodness for that! It literally had my kitty purring and you’d have to break my legs to close them back after that read. Lol. Kiddin. But not really. Definitely a good read for smut scenes. I am obsessed over passion and the true love between each other which I enjoyed alot. There was true intimacy them and you just get absorbed in it.
I do wish it left off on more of a cliff hanger, but it does leave you looking forward to what comes next in a positive and peaceful way. Can’t wait to see what happens next!
Received as an arc and all opinions are truthful and solely my own. Thank you for the opportunity 🖤

Honestly, needed this book to be longer. I really enjoyed reading about Leana and Osir!! He was so gone for her the moment they met and I loved it.
“If my Leana is courteous enough to bow to a disgraced, imprisoned king, then I will certainly show the same courtesy back to her.”
“She could admit to me she has come back today as my new torturer and I don’t think I could muster even an ounce of anger. I would just be grateful for the time with her.” !!!!!!!
“Don’t thank me, Leana. Everything I have is yours. I’m aware it’s currently not much, but I will swear it all to you anyways. And I will do whatever necessary to someday be able to provide what you deserve.”
“You made me the happiest dragon in existence.”
“I will gladly tell her worth every day, every hour, for the rest of my existence if that’s what she needs.”
“I want to feel her fire. I want it to lick at my skin, to find the softest part of my scales and leave a permanent reminder of her presence in my life.”
“You are the finest treasure in my hoard, a mate beyond what any could ever hope for.” <3333
I absolutely devoured this book in one sitting. It kept me interested all throughout, and never had a dull moment. I really enjoyed the main characters, and the relationship they have with each other. The FMC is so sweet and badass, the MMC is absolutely everything and more. I especially loved seeing the MMC be so open and honest with his feelings and adoration towards the FMC. I liked the concept of the book and thought it was well written. I think my only complaint is that I would have enjoyed a little bit more plot and detail during some scenes, having the war a bit more dragged out, and some things were a bit repetitive. But overall I think the book was a fun and easy read. Definitely worth checking out if you like dragons, fated mates, touch her you die, and some spicy scenes.
Addison James is a new-to-me author and I can safely say she didn't disappoint. The book may start off a little slow in the romance end but once it starts to burn it heats up quite quickly. I also really didn't mind the slower pace of them getting to know each other and dealing with, quite frankly, more urgent matters. I read in about two sittings so I was never bored either and the level of world building was just right. I've always loved dragon's so the fact that this featured a dragon shifter was an easy way to get to my heart. The book made me laugh, smile, and blush. The steamy scenes were also very well written, if just a tad long for my personal taste. I wouldn't mind seeing more books set in this world.
I really enjoyed this book, just read it for the second time.
I cannot get past the fact that homegirl hasn't bathed (with soap) in like 3ish weeks (maybe longer??) when they finally are together doing the deed. She was in the prison for 2 weeks where she mentions multiple times that she doesn't have soap and took like a quick water bath once after getting completely filthy and she has to put her rinsed out muddy clothes back on. then she is kidnapped and kept in a cell with a bucket for a toilet and no water for like 3+ days, then she is brought back by the MMC and the have all forms of sex before a bath, that is RIGHT there? ha. It didn't ruin the story for me but I can't unsee it lol
This had absolutely no right being this good!! If anyone has recommendations for books like this, I WANT them! I read this on KU but I definitely want it on my shelves! I love that their relationship happened over time and that they got to know each other well I would have loved to see their relationship from the beginning, and a little bit more into the future with them now in control. It would have made this book a heck of a lot longer, but I would be so there for it! I’m not sure how I feel about their relationship with his nephew, but I think with more time I would have been able to decide.
I absolutely adored this book. The passion between Leane and Osir was beautiful to read and even had me tearing up it made me that happy! It’s a stunning story between a magic-wielding human and a trapped king labelled as mad. The story around the two of them with other characters adds more to the book, but the love between the two of them is the main story. I do wish I could have known more about Leana and her family, but the fact we don’t know is fitting in my opinion as maybe she doesn’t know much either. Loveee this story!
This is a love story about a dragon and his human mate. And the FMC Leana gives us some delicious feminine rage and proves that she is a total queen when everyone around her constantly underestimates her. The MMC Osir is a sweet-talking, OTT protective and possessive dragon who has fallen completely for his mate and would do literally anything for her. It starts out as a slow-burn, but once the flames catch, OMG the spice is hot!!! Let's hear it for praise and dirty talk 😉
Was so glad to read as an arc. The world building was beautiful and completely immersive, takes you into a world of dragons and magic and old romance. Absolutely loved the character development, both MCs were so well done in thier own ways ... and damn I want a dragon to fall in love with me now! The romance and relationship building felt so good, not forced at all. Such a wonderful read!
First I love the two main characters and how they met. The story is a very good one. The thing I had a problem with is the repetitiveness of the words throughout most of the book. Also the phrasing, saying one thing and turning the words around but still saying the same thing. So unfortunately the last part of the book I skimmed.
This book held my attention with a great plot I wasn’t expecting. It also had great yearning! The dialogue is chefs kiss! Little spoiler… It had a great ending where you can see the positive change and it felt satisfying. It wasn’t like big climax then resolution the end. No it had a great ending!
Fabulous! I was hooked from beginning to end, great character development, story progression was on point, showing his and her side of the story line, even the 18+ scenes which make me squeamish I still couldn’t put it down! I can’t wait for more!! Brilliant author!!
I liked this book! I finished it in two days. The author did a good job! I look forward to reading more from Addison James. The only thing I would say is I would have loved more in depth details. To me it was a little fast paced and I would have loved a little more. Overall good though!!
addison james did an amazing job with character development and world building. i couldnt put it down as it had me drawn into its realm. loved the relationship build between characters
