This was an unique fantasy romance read! It has angel-like immortal beings, a beautiful writing style and a slow burn love triangle!❤️
The first part of the story we are introduced to ethereal beings known as Earth’s watchers and protectors. Plagued by lust and longing, they fall from heaven and come to live among humans as god-like beings. The writing is very lush and it felt like reading a whimsical fairytale. If you enjoy mythical inspirations such as Lucifer and the fight of good versus evil, you will like this tale.
Iris is fascinated and at the same frightened by the immortal beings. Her family is uprooted and forced to live with them in their temple on Earth. The allure of these beings is so strong, that her sister, Boria, fell to their spell. I love the forced proximity trope and Iris is the only one that can fight the forced allure of these beings thanks to the help of Daniel. I think the story could have benefited from a faster pace and less descriptions and inner thoughts. Despite the slow pace of the story, I was still intrigued about the true intention of these ethereal beings. I’m also hoping that the sequel will blossom the romance between them. There worldbuilding is definitely the highlight of the story, it contained many layers which combined with the lush writing style, made for a magical read.
Thank you to the author for gifting me a copy for review
O. Bogosian has written a strikingly emotional, wildly sexy and absolutely unputdownable book that I LOVED so much! . "Iris Birth of the Immortals" by O. Bogosian drowns your mind and heart in a captivating realm torn asunder by celestial conflicts and alluring pledges! The novel unfolds a captivating and mind-blowing mythological saga, intertwining fallen angels, human yearnings, and age-old debts in a landscape of tumult and destiny! . The plot is captivating: a tear in the heavens allows fallen celestials, the Gregori, to descend upon Earth, igniting a conflict between good and evil. This backdrop is expertly interwoven with the story of two mortal sisters, Iris and Boria, thrust into the center of a supernatural power play due to their lineage. The tension mounts as one sister succumbs to the Gregori's allure, while the other, Iris, remains wary, drawing upon wisdom passed down from generations. . Iris, the protagonist, is a compelling figure. Her skepticism and resilience stand in sharp contrast to Boria's vulnerability and desire. The Gregori, too, are captivatingly complex, their beauty masking hidden agendas and manipulative intentions. The portrayal of human desires and celestial motives creates a fascinating dance between light and darkness, keeping the reader constantly engaged. . Bogosian explores into the messy hearts and minds of her characters, exploring the thorny vines of love, loss, and the corrupting allure of power. This is a slow burn, yes, but one that sears with the intensity of a thousand suns. If you crave a fantasy that will transport you to another world, challenge your perceptions, and leave you aching for more, look no further than "Iris Birth of the Immortals." Iris, Birth of the Immortals has epic world building, family dynamics/sisterhood, forbidden love and fallen angels. The main character, Iris, is thrusted into a world of Gregori, ethereal beings who have coveted both her and her sister, Boria. One of those beings, Samayaza, takes Boria in a plan to make Iris his. But Iris is protected by the angel Daniel. Boria becomes jealous of Iris and Samayaza’s fixation over her sister and tries to deflect attention away from her sister. In the meantime, Iris meets a young girl, Selah, and she takes her under her wing and tries to protect her from the destructive forces of Samayaza. But when Daniel has his back turned Samayaza succeeds in twisting the memory of Selah when her family is killed. He makes her believe Daniel did it. This influences Iris’s feelings for Daniel and turns everything upside down.
What I didn't like:
Iris does end on a cliff hanger so we’re going to have to wait for Book 2!

“Iris: Birth of the Immortals” is like this super cool story about mythical beings coming down to Earth and messing with mortal sisters, Iris and Boria. It’s all about this clash between the divine and human worlds, with lots of drama and intensity. The characters are so interesting, especially Iris who is all curious and scared of these immortal dudes. Meanwhile, her sister Boria is totally into them right away, showing a range of emotions and reactions. It’s a wild ride, for sure!
Bogosian’s writing is super dreamy and full of magical vibes, kinda like a fairytale. The story is packed with detailed descriptions that really bring the fantastical elements to life, pulling you into a world where gods and regular peeps mix it up.
The book will stick with you with its mix of fantasy and love, all set against a battle of good versus evil that never seems to end. It makes you think about what it means to be divine or just plain human, really getting your brain cells firing.
The book is all about temptation, power, and what happens when you desire something you’re not supposed to. The author uses cool stuff like symbols and comparisons to dig into these ideas, especially with a character named Samayaza and the super tempting Gregori. Even though some folks say it takes a while to get through because there’s a lot of describing and thinking going on, it really lets you dive deep into the world the author has built. The way things unfold in the story is pretty good, although going faster might have added more suspense. Overall, it’s easy to read and the writing is really beautiful, which makes it a nice journey.
“Iris: Birth of the Immortals” is a gorgeously written tale that will appeal to fans of fantasy and mythical romances. The slow burn love triangle and the portrayal of ethereal beings as Earth’s watchers add layers of intrigue to the story. However, some readers may find the pacing slow due to the detailed descriptions. Overall, the book is a commendable effort by O. Bogosian and is recommended for those who enjoy rich, fantastical storytelling.
Have you guys READ Iris Birth of the Immortals by O. Bogosian yet?! Like, seriously, drop everything because this book is EVERYTHING and then some! First of all, the forbidden love story? Forget about Romeo and Juliet, Iris and Samayaza are the REAL star-crossed lovers of legend! He's a fallen angel, all dark and dangerous, with eyes that could melt glaciers and a voice that sends shivers down your spine in the best way possible. And she's this fierce, independent girl who won't let anyone push her around, not even a celestial hottie with questionable morals. Their chemistry is like fire and ice, explosive and totally addicting! . But it's not just about the romance (although, let's be honest, that's like 75% of why I can't put this book down). The whole world Bogosian has created is like stepping into a sparkly, mythical dream. Imagine temples that gleam like rainbows, battles fought with magic so dazzling it makes fireworks look lame, and angels with wings that would make Victoria's Secret angels weep with envy. Seriously, the imagery is SOOOO good, I swear I can practically smell the jasmine in the celestial gardens and feel the silk of Iris's dress against my fingertips. . And don't even get me started on the twists and turns! This plot is like a roller coaster dipped in glitter and sprinkled with fairy dust. One minute you're swooning over a forbidden kiss, the next you're gasping as some mind-blowing secret gets revealed. I'm not gonna spoil anything, but let's just say, prepare to have your jaw hit the floor like, a million times. . Okay, okay, deep breaths, gotta pull myself together before I explode from fangirling overload. Basically, what I'm trying to say is: READ THIS BOOK. NOW! It's got everything a girl could want – forbidden love, badass girls, sizzling celestial hotties, and a plot that will keep you guessing until the very last page. You won't regret it, I promise!

This remarkable story tested free will, free from consumption, evil, and manipulation. Iris Birth of the Immortals by O. Bogosian reflects the resilience and tenacity of Iris and her sister Boria, who were taken from their mortal lives, discovering they are from a line of fallen spirits. When Boria adapts to the ways of the acolytes, Iris senses the suspicion and incorporates the lessons she learned from her grandfather Enok to resist, survive, and fight the rituals of the acolytes, bringing righteousness into the world.
It’s refreshing to know that there are people, even if they are fictional, who still have a backbone and believe the truth will set you free, and it’s always good to do the right thing. Iris is admirable, strong, resilient, tenacious, and aggressive, which a strong heroine should encompass. We all can relate to Iris and have those traits and qualities within us. We must bring them out at the right time and not let fear empower us. This book is enriched with valuable lessons to apply in real life, and I love it when fiction books empower this theme.
The only thing I disliked about the book was its lack of fluidity. The plot, characters, climax, and theme made up for the lack of fluidity. The book was exceptionally well-edited and well-written. The vocabulary and sentence structure made sense, and the story was exciting and enticing. For these reasons, I am proud to award this book five stars.

“Iris Birth of the Immortals” is an enchanting tale that begins with the introduction of the celestial spirits known as the Gregori, who were created with the first man and woman to safeguard and lead humans in order that they would flourish. As time goes on, the mortals become stronger and more beautiful with each generation, and the daughters of Adam slowly seduce the Gregori, enticing them to abandon their duties and succumb to lust, making them fall from the celestial world. The evil Samayaza would lead this army of fallen spirits, creating chaos and evil throughout the earth. What ensues is a battle of good and evil as Samayaza attempts to get back at those who caused his initial fall from the celestial realm.
After the introduction, the story continues from the point of view of Iris, the sister of Boria, both of whom witness the spectacular sight of the celestial beings falling to earth. The two are captured and brought to the temple where Boria quickly succumbs to the Gregori, which leaves Iris alone to wrestle with this supernatural battle. The book captivates readers with gripping action, powerful descriptions, and an attention-grabbing plot. I highly recommend this gripping page-turner to anyone looking for the next great fantasy book!
This is such an interesting style of writing by the author. I love a slow burn romance too and there is one in this book! Between Iris and Samayaza in fact😊 In this book we hear about beings who watch over earth and protect it, originally in heaven but then they live among humans. They are known as the Gregori(love that name) and there is a theme in this book of the fight between good and evil. I love that theme in books!
Iris is our MC, along with her sister named Boria. These two sisters get thrown into the middle of the Gregori, and one sister gets into the beings while the other sister depends on her knowledge of them. The world building is fantastic along with the story telling y’all! I loved reading this one, as it reads like an ancient epic or fairy tale.
This book had so much going on with forbidden kisses, secrets spilled, etc. that I can’t even mention all that happens without giving the story away a little. So you need to read this one folks, the story is super interesting and I can’t say that I have read anything like it recently.
I also can not wait for the next book, as that ending definitely leaves open another book after this one!
I can honestly say that this is one of my favorite books I have read in a long time. The author does such a great job of creating vivid imagery that you feel completely immersed in the story and setting.
After her family is taken to the village of her evil grandfather, Iris must rescue them. However, after being bitten by a serpent, she is instead also taken by “unearthly beings” to the same temple in the village. After being reunited with her family, she finds that her sister has fallen under the captivating guise of these unearthly beings and is no longer the sister she knows and loves. Iris makes it her mission to save her sister, but over time, she sees that this is a harder task than she originally thought. With the protection of her guardian “unearthly being,” she is able to see through the facade of the other beings. However, a darker force is beginning to show itself—one that even the unearthly beings fear.
Left on a huge cliffhanger, I am eager to read the next book in this series and look forward to its release in 2024!
I am definitely enjoying this book; if not for its intriguing forbidden love story, then for it's poetic use of language that renders each scene and emotion so beautifully. I always find it interesting when authors can take a concept such as religion and loosely tie its basis into a fantasy story without disrespecting said religion or beliefs. The idea to conflate fallen angels with their desire to pursue a forbidden love creates just the right amount of internal conflict to keep readers in constant anticipation; especially when it turns out to be the obvious catalyst for chaotic rebellion and damnation. Between the story plot itself and the suspenseful progression, this book is very addictive and I am glad knowing it is part of a series. I am also very pleased with the stylized writing because it would have been vary easy to write this story concept in a very angsty, love-sick, teen romance sort of way. Would recommend if you are not one to get offended easily over the use of religious terminology.
The world-building is equally impressive. The author blends familiar biblical elements with original lore, creating a setting that feels both ancient and fantastical. The descriptions of the temple, the fallen angels' powers, and the backdrop of epic battles are vivid and evocative! . The pacing is well-balanced, alternating between moments of introspection and fast-paced action. The plot unfolds gradually, my mind stayed throughout the book piecing together the secrets surrounding the sisters' family ties and the true motive behind the Gregori's descent! . Iris Birth of the Immortals is a gripping and imaginative first entry in a promising series. With its complex characters, rich world-building, and compelling plot, the book is sure to appeal to fans of mythology, fantasy, and stories that explore the darkness lurking beneath seductive promises. . A well-written and exciting mythological epic that will leave readers eagerly awaiting the next chapter. Highly recommended for fans of fantasy, mythology, and strong female protagonists.
Let me start by saying the IRIS BIRTH OF THE IMMORTALS is a book of epic proportions. It starts with echoes of Greek mythology. What can beautiful human women do but tempt the gods? It’s hardly our fault! When the heavens and Earth collide, however, a rip in the fabric of the universe lets those gods come to Earth – and the consequences aren’t what anyone was expecting!
It turns out that humans and immortals have interacted before, and a deal brokered in the past initiates actions in the present. Surprises light up one page after another. I’ll admit, as someone who is generally bad with names anyway, I did have some trouble keeping track of characters, but the writing is so sumptuous that I didn’t even care. The narrative is compelling, and the scale feels bigger than anything I can remember reading in recent years. Fans of fantasy, mythology, and fantastical romance will have more than enough to sink their teeth into here. I for one can’t wait to continue the series!
Iris Birth of the Immortals (The Fallen Angel Series Book 1) was an intriguing story. A story based inBiblical times, but with a twist. The details were so well written you picture every detail. The book is definitely a great beginning to an inspired series.
The author created great characters. It is easy to get attached and feel for the lead character and despise the adversary. The struggle is about the struggle between the bad, the good, and those who step over the line to protect those they love.
The control of power is the battle of two fallen angels- one evil and the other fearing the destruction of someone he loves. Even though the evil one is the leader, he has no control over the other. This isn’t the only battle going on. The fallen Angel that cared for the lead character is also going through an internal battle of longing to be back where he has fallen from. This book was a great beginning to the Fallen Angel Series.
Are there gods and unearthly beings that control us? Are there different realms maintained by these beings? In this story of good and evil, we are introduced to those who are evil yet powerful unearthly beings. However, It is an earthly being, Iris and her family, who are captured and stuck between the earthly and unearthly realms. Iris tries to help her family survive within the realm of her evil and controlling grandfather. Iris sees her sister succumbing to the evil power, believing it is her fate and duty. Iris remembers the words of her earthly grandfather, that we do not have to fall to those evil wishes, and that she can have great power in helping and keeping the earth safe. This book has descriptive language that is easy and enjoyable to read, yet I could believe and picture every detail as if watching a movie, every action the mortals thought and saw was real. I look forward to reading the continuing series.
This is one of the most beautiful books that I have read. To be fair, I wasn’t sure of this book because I am not a fan of fantasy, and the title made me nervous. But when I was given the opportunity to read this book, I took a chance and looked past my own biases. I was not disappointed!
The characters in this novel are so wonderfully written. You dive deeply into their lives and meet them in their struggles and in their triumphs. And while we may not walk in their exact shoes, we recognize the struggle to just keep going, to lift the heavy burdens that are sometimes placed upon us outside of our will. This book, though fiction, has definite Biblical qualities as well. If you are versed in Scripture, you will definitely recognize some of the names and places in this book, which makes the novel even more intriguing. I’m excited and looking forward to the next novel in this series!
Iris Birth of the Immortals is the first installment in the Fallen Angel series that takes readers on a mind-blowing journey through the intricate dance between humanity and the Immortal gods. Iris and her sister Boria discover that they are from a line of fallen spirits, trapped in a dark tapestry of promises and agreements made by their mother's father ages ago.
This book is pretty good and I was able to finish it within a few days. It is easy to get attached and feel for the main character. The plot, characters, language, theme, climax, everything was just perfect. The narrative is compelling that will keep you hooked. Fans of mystery, fantasy, mythology and romance should definitely give this book a try!!
Iris: Birth of the Immortals is a pretty decent book. I liked how the author explained things and showed me the universe that the book entails. The book is about Sumyaza and the gods Azazzel and Danial. They decide to intervene with the humans, and this is where Iris comes in. Told from her perspective the book shows the good and bad of gods entering the lives of mortals, and how it affects Iris. It’s described well and almost exhaustively per chapter how this happens. The book is pretty good, and I was able to finish it within a few days. It’s good to read and the author doesn’t skimp on the perspectives of the characters, as well as the gods, turning this book into a third POV book, and a 1st POV book, with Iris going through the tribulations of how her sister Boria works with the gods and how it affects her family, and her grandfather Enok, who has his plans for them.
Fast and easy to get into read! The forbidden love story is unmatched. Really loved Iris and Samayaza. He’s a fallen angel cloaked in mystery, with piercing eyes that could thaw glaciers and a voice that sends shivers down your spine. And Iris? She’s a fierce, independent heroine who refuses to back down, even when faced with a celestial being battling his own darkness. Their connection is electric, a fiery clash of opposites that will leave you completely hooked!
Slow start. I really wanted to like this book. I’ve always been fascinated with fallen angels / watchers. So I was really excited to read this but this is so damn boring it’s sad.
I think my favorite part of this was the intriguing world building. It was unlike anything I'd read before. I'm curious to see where the next book goes, and wow, what a cliffhanger.
There were some editing inconsistencies, but otherwise, great world building!!
Interesting new take on fallen angels and Lucifers corruption.. it was okay story, but I haven't connected with any of the characters and I don't know if I'll go back to it..
