A Charming Ghost by Tonya Kappes
Magical Cures Mystery series #8. Paranormal cozy mystery. Witches and magic. Best read in series order but it does include enough backstory to be read as a stand-alone.
June Heal gets a new charm from her familiar, and the brass bell can only mean trouble.
The Holiday Bazaar has new additions this year, but when there is a death, all fingers point to June. She decides to investigate herself, and of course, complications of a ghost and danger surrounds her. Can she figure out the secrets before the Elders?

June continues to get herself in trouble. Fortunately she has good friends and a new husband to help and support her.

Light and easy story with familiar repeating characters with June in the middle of a mystery.
Better as an audiobook. Love the progression of the characters, in particular June and her new husband, who she’s been friends with since childhood.

June and Oscar are now married, but of course there is a dead body and June is the number one suspect. Tonya weaves a wonderful tale, bringing in elements from earlier in the series and moving the characters forward. This is probably my favorite book of the series. If you haven't read the others, I'd suggest starting at the beginning as you may be lost without the backstory. I highly recommend!

This is one of my favorite cozy mystery series. This book is the 8th in the series, and they just keep getting better.

June Heal is a very likable character. She has flaws that lead her into trouble, and her actions/reactions are believably human.

This book has a Christmas theme, which makes it perfect reading this month. Whispering Falls is preparing for the Annual Holiday Bazaar, and the whole community is in a festive mood. Unfortunately, that is dampened when a visitor to town is murdered, and June becomes the prime suspect.

On top of trying to solve that murder and keep herself out of jail, June is dealing with the ghost we met in A Charming Death (Do Us Part). How the two wind up tied together is quite a surprise.

**I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.**

June Heal is by far one of my favorite characters. Her actions and reactions are so true; the trouble she gets herself into so real. You can just see someone like her, trying so hard to help, wanting so badly to help, and getting into trouble because of it.

If you haven't encountered Tonya Kappes' Magical Cures Mysteries yet, what on Earth are you waiting for? These books are wonderful.

I was given an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
A Charming Ghost is a wonderful read. June Heal, um I mean Mrs. Oscar Parks is up to her eyeballs in trouble again. In this book the trouble starts on the first page of the first chapter when June wakes up bone cold, a cold that is inside and just will not go away. Her day does not seem likely to improve when her FairyGod cat brings her another charm for her bracelet. He only brings her charms when she is in danger and needs a special kind of protection. June can already sense the evil approaching her little town of Whispering Falls.
Later that morning a strange man comes into her shop and she senses that he needs a special potion to help him with some troubles. June has the gift of intuition and can sense what a person needs, then she adds special ingredients to lotion or lip balm or simply makes them a special potion to cure them or help with what is bothering them. The strange man is looking at stress relief lotion but June adds extra ingredients to his to help him with what is truly bothering him. The man takes an interest in Junes wedding photograph and asks about her Aunt Helena and Oscars Aunt Eloise. June doesn't think anything of it until she spots the man later at a town committee meeting and finds out he is a spiritualist himself, which means June has broken the law by reading him without his knowledge and making him a potion. It also means that the man was somehow covering the fact that he was a spiritualist from June. From the time she confronts him at the meeting things go from bad to worse for June and others in Whispering Falls. A murder is committed and June looks to be the prime suspect. Soon the law is also looking at some of Junes friends as suspects in the murder.
June needs to find out what Evil is heading to the town and she needs to help find a way to get the ghost attached to the yellow ball to cross over so that Patience Karima will stop acting crazy. June also needs to find out just how many people in her town knew the man who was murdered and what connections they have to him. June has to go back to school and she has to take the train back to Azarcabam to find out answers about the murdered man and his connections to her friends and why he was so insistent on bringing his carnival to town. Why was he murdered? Who is framing her and others in Whispering Falls for his murder and why? Things get crazier and the action is nonstop with tons of twists and turns and many unexpected insights into the people of Whispering Falls. This is a must read for fans of Tonya's "Magical Cures Mystery Series."

A Charming Ghost is book no.8 in the Magical Cures series written by Tonya Kappes. The little village of Whispering Falls, Kentucky is preparing for the Annual Holiday Bazaar when the council is summoned to include a traveling Spiritual Carnival too. June Heal and Oscar Park are still in the stage of newlyweds and making plans for a honeymoon, but have put the honeymoon on hold due to both having busy schedules. June, a Spiritualist who has the gift of Intuition, is busy with her shoppe, A Charming Cure. When a customer comes into her shoppe and June feels he is looking for a cure for need of money and happiness, she mixes him a mix in a vial. A town meeting is called and the council is called so June agrees to take care of baby Orin, so his mother, Petunia can attend. During the meeting an unfortunate accident happens and June is suddenly thrust into a situation that finds her perhaps serving jail time. Will June be able to prove her innocence and prevent Oscar from becoming single again. Will the mystery be solved on what has caused the unfortunate accident. You will enjoy delving deeper and deeper into the book to find out the answers.

The magical, mystical town of Whispering Falls, Kentucky is busy getting ready for the Holiday Bazaar. Meanwhile, June and Oscar are reveling in their new found wedded bliss, when June becomes a suspect in a murder, while helping Patience deal with her little boy ghost who nearly ruined June's wedding. The two may be connected, but you will just have to read and find out for yourself. I recommend this magical series to anyone, although I would recommend starting at the beginning of the series so that you understand the main characters background. Tonya Kappes develops her characters so well, and blends in the surrounding and makes it seem so real. She draws you in and you can't put the book down until it is finished. I would love to live in Whispering Falls if it were a real town. Eagerly awaiting the next installment of this series. I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest review.

Great Series!
This is a great series; this is eighth book of the Magical Cures Mystery Series by Tonya Kappes. I just love the characters in this book and this series is one of my favorites. I would love to visit the small magical town, Whispering Falls, Kentucky. June Heal and Oscar Park are still in the honeymoon stage, they are getting ready for the Holiday Bazaar. When the head of the spiritual carnival is found dead with one of June’s potions in his hands, the Elders place June on village arrest until they can find the killer. If you are looking for a wonderful mystery that will keep you reading way past your bed time then you need to read this book. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Welcome Back June Heal!

If you are new to this series, I do suggest you start at the beginning. Although there is some back-information throughout the book, it helps to familiarize yourself with the entire series.

That being said, this book is a fabulous read. I couldn't put it down.

In the past, June has gotten herself into some sticky situations but this time, I truly didn't think she would get out of this new dilemma. Murder, Ghosts and more, this book delivers. Luckily she has Oscar, Eloise, the residents of Whispering Falls and of course her familiars, Madame Torres and Mr. Prince Charming to keep her on the straight and narrow as well as work together to get her out of trouble. I hope you enjoy this as well as continue to enjoy all of the books Tonya Kappes has to offer.

The Charming Cure series is my favorite of Tonya's books, I love June Heal and most repetitiously Mr. Prince Charming. This book was my favorite! It is book #8 in the series about June Heal (who is a magical herbalist living in the magical village of Whispering Falls). June is newly married to her best friend/husband, (who just happens to be the village Sheriff) Oscar Park. The story starts with the village shop owners getting ready for the upcoming holiday bazaar. With some shady happenings, June becomes a suspect in the murder investigation. In order to get herself out of the mess, she has to delve into her past. I loved this one. I laughed and couldn't put it down. can't wait for the next one!!!

The 8th book in the Magical Mystery Series...
When June gets a weird charm from Mr. Prince Charming she doesn't know what it means. She's been getting them for a long time.
The town of Whispering Falls is getting ready for the holidays. Other things start happening and she might be in over her head. She'll
do what ever it takes. Her and Oscar are still honeymooners..Her best friend the one man she knew she loved the rest of her life.

Tonya Kappes books are cozy mystery, and this one is filled with Ghosts, mystery, magic, and potions. You won't be able to put down.

Loved being in the town of Whispering Falls. A quaint town. Love the feel of magic there s d of course the romance between June and Oscar.

It is very fitting that these books have "Charming" in the titles because they are just that. Not only is the magical town of Whispering Falls fascinating and lovely, but the people are as well. They always seem to have some sort of situation going on, and June is usually the one to figure it out. This time, a town visitor is murdered with June as the main suspect. There were lots of turns and twists that I really enjoyed. Some of the things that I love about Tonya Kappes' writing are how her vivid details bring the book to life, and the surprises and intrigue make you want to stay. This was another great Tonya Kappes book, and as usual, I look forward to the next! I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the 8th Magical Cures book. In this book, June finds herself accused of murder after a man who visits her shop winds up dead. Of course, June wouldn't be June without some investigating of her own into who really killed the mystery man! He ends up being the head of the spiritual carnival that is coming to Whispering Falls as part of the Holiday Bazaar. What follows is lots of ins and outs as to just who the mystery man is and who he is connected to in Whispering Falls. Throw in a little ghost who just doesn't want yo cross yo the other side and you have a fantastic read. I love every visit to Whispering Falls.

Something is in the air around Whispering Falls...and it's not just the lingering excitement from June Heal and Oscar Park's recent wedding. The Holiday Bazaar is coming up and with it a spiritual fair...but something just isn't right and June is soon put right in the middle of it and standing over the dead body of the leader of that spiritual fair!
This book is another "chapter" in the Magical Cures Mystery series. I loved it! The writing makes the town feel real and the characters are ones that I would love to actually meet and know. Lots to enjoy in this story.

A very suspenseful return to Whispering Falls! June is newly married to Oscar and should be floating on air. But she is bone cold and can't shake the feeling. Soon Prince Charming brings her a new charm unlike any other and June is the prime suspect in a murder! I could not put this down and thoroughly enjoyed the plot's twists and turns in this nail biting tale.

A Charming Ghost by Tonya Kappes is about June figuring out who the ghost boy was and how he might connect to the dead guy.
Can June figure out who killed the head of the holiday carnival?
June Heal Parks
June Heal and Oscar Parks are now married and trying to figure out when/where to go for their honeymoon. She loves married life, and marital life suits her quite well. June has to deal with a lot of things in this book. One of them is trying to get the police to look into the other people in the victim's life besides herself. Since June might have accidentally broken a few spiritual laws, she is trying to figure out about this ghost boy and how his being here two months before their holiday bazaar coincides with the victim's death. Or if it's not even related.

June is still a great character, and I love reading this series. Oscar, June, Mr. Prince Charming, and Madam Torres are all quite a hoot together.
A Charming Ghost CRThe Mystery
June Heal is trying to clear her name for the villagers, the Marys, and the sheriff's department of any wrongdoing. She will have a rough time doing that since she's put on village arrest. That means she can't leave the village for anything. June, of course, doesn't let anything stop her from finding out the truth, especially if it means ignoring orders. I didn't even realize it could be who it happened to be since I didn't suspect that person. Sadly, I have a feeling that June being the Chosen One isn't quite over as she thinks it is.
Five Stars
A Charming Ghost by Tonya Kappes is a cute story to read. A Charming Ghost is set around Christmas time which has me longing for the holidays! Ms. Kappes keeps me hanging on with each installment of these books. I can't wait to jump into A Charming Hex.

I am giving A Charming Ghost by Tonya Kappes five stars and recommending it to all you cozy paranormal mystery readers out there.

Interesting Paranormal Story

This is the first book in this series that I have read. All the residents of the magical town of Whispering Pines are spiritualists, another term for witches and wizards. They can be oriented toward the light or dark. June, the owner of a holistic healing store and a person who can tell by her gift of intuition, what each customer needs, has married Oscar, a policeman in the town.

When June inadvertently gives a healing potion to Paul, she thinks is a mortal, but turns out to be a spiritualist from another town, problems start. Paul wants to bring a Carnival to the town’s Christmas Bazaar so he goes to Petunia, the mayor, who is also the mother of Oscar. Petunia has to get the approval of the town elders in order to have The Carnival. Petunia has a baby who doesn’t sleep. June agrees to take the baby so Petunia can conduct the village meeting. But the baby is fussy and June goes to the meeting to give the baby back. She sees Paul and he runs when he sees her. She chases him into the woods. She finds him dead with her potion in his hand and on his lips. June is accused of the murder.

June must now discover who killed Paul and why. In the meantime there is also a ghost boy who is affecting one of the sisters who are the undertakers who help souls pass over, so she is acting odd. Her sister wants June to cure her. June must figure out how the boy, who always has a yellow ball and Paul are connected.

I enjoyed reading how June solved the mystery with some help from her friends. I’ll need to read the other books in the series to learn more about this magical town.

This was a fun and fast read. I love how the author does a little catching up without going overboard. Even though I'd only read the first in the series, I caught on quickly to what was going on. It was good to visit with the characters that I had come to love in the first book. (I skipped ahead to this book strictly for a book club discussion lol) I've found that all the series by this author have the most memorable and likable (or despicable if they're supposed to be) characters.

June was accused of killing a man who had come into her shop by giving him a potion that caused his death. She knew she didn't kill the guy, but she had to figure out why this man was in Whispering Falls...and why Petunia, the village council president, was acting so weird lately.

I didn't guess the culprit till the reveal which led to a very sweet ending for June and Oscar. I do need to go back and read the rest. I'm looking forward to our book club discussion for this book!

June and Oscar are in their honeymoon bubble after months into their marriage. Things seem to be going great despite their differences. The town is in good spirits as a spiritual carnival coming to town.

There is a ghost holding onto Patience’s pet ostrich. June must figure why the ghost will not cross over and what else it is holding onto.

Like she isn’t busy enough, the carnival spiritualist leader is found dead clutching one of June’s potions. Since she is prime suspect, the Elders are force to imprison her until she is cleared of the crime.

Will she be able to save herself or will her new husband become a widower? Once again June and her familiars will take you on a wild run. A ghostly fun read.

It’s a couple of months after June and Oscar’s wedding and you’d think things would get to some type of normal. Not the case. Patience seems to be talking to herself so her sister Constance is asking June to help figure out the issue. Petunia’s tired as her baby is keeping her up. A special town council meeting is being held to see about adding a carnival to the town’s bazaar. June see someone who she chases to the woods and the next thing you know, he’s found dead at June’s feet with a bottle of a potion from her shop.

Read the trouble June gets herself into in this installment of Whispering Falls.

Another great addition to the series. I really liked the twist and turns in A Charming Ghost, as Ms. Kappes kept me guessing until the end of the book. I have to say, I totally agreed with Oscar called June out for doing things on her own so much of the time. I agree since she is now married, she needs to think more about how her choices effect Oscar too. I really felt like she heard him, and look forward to her doing better in future books.

This series has become one of my favorite cozy mystery series, and I can't wait to see what happens next in Whispering Falls with June and all her friends.

In this book I couldn’t figure out how all of the different elements were tied together. Poor June at first couldn’t figure it out either, but with Madame Torres, her latest charm, and Mr. Prince Charming to help her she slowly pieces everything together. I love how Tonya is able to describe settings and details about the characters in such vivid detail that the reader feels as if they are there. I thought the train was going to barrel through my living room while reading. Lol. Great series. I can’t wait to read the next installment.

SPOILER
I was sooooooo disappointed this book did not have Oscar and June's wedding.
Tonya could have just had a mystery without the murder.
The story was ok. It's hard to believe all these people could be friends when
they seem to point the finger at one another.
June is always getting herself into trouble but never finishes school, even under
mandate. She always gets rewarded for her bad behavior, too.
How hard is it to remember a characters name? We are introduced to Cecil only
to have her renamed Celia.
