Christopher Paolini was born in Southern California and has lived most of his life in Paradise Valley, Montana. He published his first novel, Eragon, in 2003 at the age of nineteen, and quickly became a publishing phenomenon. His Inheritance Cycle—Eragon and its three sequels—have sold nearly 40 million copies worldwide. To Sleep in a Sea of Stars was his first adult novel.
I loved reading this book with my tweens/teens and I love all things dragons but it had strong overtones of replicating Tolkien and JK Rowling. Inspirational that it started being written when the author was a teen but sometimes that was very apparent in the writing. Overall though a good fantasy series
I cant even tell anymore how many times I've reread this even when I reach portions where Eragon frustrates me. Also no matter how much hate exists for the roran chapters some of those are my favorites
I really enjoyed this series. The books themselves are well written and they all have great plots. The characters are all developed well and finishing the series made me long for more. I will definitely be re-reading this at some point. This series is a must read for all!
