If you are a reader (I assume that's why you are here?) then you no doubt have at least some interest in the English language and all it's vivid, wonderful, ridiculous glory. We all have our favourite words, but this particular book is full of those words that we don't encounter on a day-to-day basis, but would be absolutely perfect for some situations.

Set out like a dictionary, with a very good reference point at the back for ease of finding certain definitions of words, it is so easy to use and you'd be a very boring person if you didn't try to read it from cover to cover simply to bask in the eloquence of the piece.

You may even find 'Leptodactylous' in here. Maybe.*

*Definitely.

My husband loves to use obnoxiously unknown words in everyday life and in writing. This book was a gift that he has used often and enjoyed. The purple fuzzy cover its awesome too!

An excellent resource to improve one's vocabulary or if you want to sound smarter than you are.
