"The Acid Alkaline Balance Diet" has a ton of great information and was generally educational. I appreciated that the book was arranged by ailment, disease, or chronic health concern, so you can get specific information about your particular issue. I am increasingly baffled at how much our food and processed diets are contributing to our overall decline in health and increase in cancer and chronic disease.

As nasty as it may seem, our bodies are virtual garbage dumps. When we eat too much, or eat processed foods that our organs find hard to break down, our bodies can't work fast enough leaving waste within the body. Bacteria thrive in such environments. So begins the process of acidic waste collection in the body. The end result includes a wide range of medical problems from arthritis through insomnia to kidneys disease.

The Acid Alkaline Balance Diet looks to rebalance the system and remove this acidic waste from our system. The process is fairly complicated, mostly because each person's needs are different. Some individuals have a more acidic system while others have a more alkaline system. In each case, different diets and vitamin treatments are used to remove excess waste and bring the system back into stasis. Various tests that the reader can do for him or herself are included within the text enabling them to understand their particular issues and start to reduce these factors. Readers are also encouraged to see their homeopathic specialists for more in depth workups.

I am not really a vitamin person as I tend to like natural/organic alternatives. Therefore, I couldn't see myself sticking to this diet for any length of time. Nonetheless, I learnt a great deal from this book particularly the sections on ancestral diets and food allergies.

This may not be the best book regarding Alkaline foods and the importance of keeping a balanced gut PH. However, it is interesting to see how it relates to certain illnesses. Though again, there are better sources of information out there.

This book has a lot of information. It is basically a natural approach to healing. The author believes that much of the disease experienced by people is the alkaline/acid ph balance is totally out of whack, that the acid builds up in the body instead of being removed through the body's filters because the balance is not there for it to be removed. I think this is a totally possible thing. What didn't impress me was the big amounts of supplements that the book advises to take. Many people may take this advice without the supervision of a doctor. I think it is beneficial as a guide for the food you do eat as a guide to help balance out the alkaline/acid without the supplementation of vitamins and minerals.

This book talked about the importance of eating right for your body (whether your body is more of a meat or grain eater), not eating processed foods and having lemon water and other alkaline (mostly fruits and veggies) foods. Also talked about importance of vitamin and hormone supplementation. I'm all for making changes in what we eat, putting good, natural foods into our bodies, but not so much for the added supplements so although the book was interesting and I liked what they said about foods and allergies etc, it's not really one if follow. I liked that the chapters were separated by health ailments so you could easily find what you're having issues with and some ideas on how to help.

I'm not even half way through... Hopefully, once I am, I'll be able to try the curative properties of raw potato. I am being more careful about the water I drink. Deer Park (neutral) and Fiji (slightly alkaline). I tried filtered tap water, but was still walking around with a slight feeling of queasiness.

Some of this is pretty self explanatory, however, if you are just starting out on what ,at as well be the best wellness system out there, do peruse book. The lists of base level supplementation and the reasoning behind it are some of the best. Naturopathic research behind the treatment strategies is prominently emphasized, in case you are interested in further reading. Definitely recommended.

Unfortunately this book is based on intuitive feelings and dieter's subjective reports.

I found the scientific reasoning to be inaccurate, misleading and a horrifying confirmation of the general public's lack of knowledge about how the human body works.

A good insight into the importance of not becoming too acid. Depending on the readers health, a more or less improtant read.

I didn't find this book extremely user friendly. And yes, I am a lazy reader - don't make me work that hard!

I expected more application of the theory rather than the theory itself. I wanted more daily menus showing how to balance the diet so although it was informative I found it disappointing.
