The beloved fantasy adventure Inuyasha continues with the next generation of demon hunters!
Can the three teenage daughters of demon dog half-brothers Inuyasha and Sesshomaru save their parents, themselves, and both realms from the menace of the seven mystical Rainbow Pearls?
Because of their part-demon heritage, Towa, Setsuna, and Moroha have all temporarily turned human—on the same night that yet another assassin aims to take the girls out! In light of that, Towa wrestles with her identity as a half-demon and wonders what her life could have been if she were a normal human girl. Then, she learns the truth behind the attack that caused their parents’ disappearance 14 years ago!
Lots of back lore in this one! Love me some back lore. Plus new moon effected half-demon shenanigans... and lots of seeing some of my favourite characters! I marked a couple panels that had me laughing that I wanted to mention, but the kid took his book back, so I will have to come back and update with that after I can see them again. Believe it was mostly funny stuff, like Rin and Kagome showing up to Sessho's ma's place, and some funny interactions there, like his ma's reactions, and Rin, and such... stuff around that bit of flashback scene expo. Because, funny. Sess-mom is totes one of my favourite side characters, because she's such a gorgeous, glorious, fabulous ice-cold diva, but just every once in awhile, on a lil blue moon, she shows some spark, some humor, some emotion, however muted, and just, damn I love that bish.
But! Will say this was another great entry, loved seeing Towa develop/learn more about her demonpower-absorbing-power, and put it to good use during a bad time, obvs, seeing Moroha go all Beniyasha despite the moon, like... fffff, that's my girl! Setsuna showing off the skills she's learned from growing up in the Demon Slayer clan with Sango and Kohaku's peeps, proving she can demon power, and still be skilled even without it, and getting more info on the Kirinmaru/Zero/Riku/Rion sitch, plus... that flippin' comet. Also, liked how the big bad they fought in this one ended up in a good way, and not just annihilation. Was cute/touching, and also very much ties back into the girls and their families own situation and whatnot, at least as far as emotionally and all that.
Very excited to move onto the next volume! So on we go!
