I had been enjoying this series up until book five, maybe even toward the end of book four.

There are a lot of girls. It's a massive harem. And that is fine for some people. I find it to be a bit tedious, but I enjoy the characters so it's not a huge turn off for me.

My big turn off came when Brock starts giving in to more of his draconic tendencies. Dragons behave a certain way, I understand that. They like to hoard. They like to kill and eat and kill some more. And while I understand the villains were trying to destroy Meteoropolis and everyone on it, I just...didn't care. The villains were mysterious, behind-the-scenes manipulators that caused a bunch of trouble. Maybe I missed something, but for some reason it didn't click with me these villains were all that villainous.

The scene that really soured this series for me was when Brock goes to the head of the pharmaceutical corporation, posing as a middle-man between the CEO and his doctor friend who is developing hot new technology that Miss CEO would very much like. Problem is, she's part of the evil shadow organization bent one destroying the city. So what does Brock do? By this point, he has merged with the solar dragon, and is basically more dragon than human. So he decides to indiscriminately slurp up the evil CEO lady, patting his stomach.

Again, maybe I missed something or whatever, but the more Brock became one with the solar dragon, the less I liked him, and the less I cared for the rest of the story. Maybe it gets better in volume seven? I hope so. I was, all things considered, enjoying the series.

Decent finish -Better without "Esoterica?"

This all is a decent enough finish to the series. It was spoiled somewhat by the tie in of lore from "Esoterica" for me though. I ended up being a little less satisfied and reconsidering my plans to finish reading that series. Perhaps I was right when I dropped it the first time before the small rewrite for the omnibus.

Ultimately it's not like this ruins the series or anything like that. It just didn't finish on as good a note as I would have liked.

PS: Somewhat Related Aside- It's a little akward to constantly talk about how OP a character is while simultaneously denouncing them and mentioning/showing how limited and weak they are. This is one of the better versions I've seen but it always made things a bit off so far.

great book. ignore the one star

The book has the same light hearted tone as every other book in the series. The climax with the counter harem is one of the funniest parts and isn’t half as dark as the other review makes it sound. Read the room, bud. He also got some facts about the scene straight up wrong. Brock wasn’t drugged. His pills were fake libido suppressants, he was under the effect of a star, not drugs.

Great book. Not the best in the series but come on. Day 1 1-star liar? Please, be less obvious.

This story is essentially over after the resolution of the Void Cartel plot last volume, and is now transitioned to straight slice-of-life. It appears to be continuing in some capacity after this despite the ending feeling very final this volume. As humor is its biggest strength, maybe that will be cool. I guess we'll see.

After the major wrap up of plot points in the previous installment, I really didn't think there would be so much enjoyment out of this new volume. How wrong I was! The book is able to retain the entertainment aspect presented throughout the series. Mainly due to how the cast is just so enjoyable to watch engage with one another. I will gladly continue with this series moving forward.

This one was okay.

I mostly enjoyed reading this book. I was disappointed by the encounter with the Evil Girls. It was just wrong. Otherwise, the book was fun and engaging. The story and characters were incredibly interesting and entertaining. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next. This series is definitely worth checking out.

great as usual

Another great entry into the series. A lot of fun for both the characters and the story. Not much action and intrigue but that was somewhat expected given the strength of the character. Not sure if it’s the end but if it is, it was a great ending.

Great series full of fun

Fascinating end of the series. The characters are even more lovable, enjoyable, and funny now than in the first book. I understand why, but still sorry to see the series end. Extremely creative and imaginative series!

🤣🤣 beautiful ending... for now......

Lol I like the ending meeting 🤣 it breaks the fourth wall a bit. All in all it's getting even better, hopefully they colonize a planet that Brock makes that would be quite interesting.

I like how his Sister has become the nanny for his kids. Also, Moony is adorable. How the anti Harem enacted their plan to seduce Brock. Misty, of course, went overboard. Lastly, it was revealed, why Brock can't go full human form again.
