My god this book.

Without spoiling to much, the ending broke my heart. I almost cried. Im curious to see where this series will go.

it wasn't really clear is the party image was what they wanted or what was ordered.

this book was filled with action and amazing characters. multiple pov's
the storyline was amazing. And all in all not what I expected, in a good way.
The jokes were fun. relationships (lovers, family, allies) was also amazing. The magic system created was very interesting.

there wasn't really any world building. Sometimes it was a bit rushed. with the occasional inaccurate or contradicting sentence.

⤿ the second five-star read of the year ‹𝟹

my second arc read so far and my door to being a fantasy world dystopian girlie ෆ

this book is hauntingly beautiful.
I want this book injected into my veins because reading it simply isn’t enough i know i say this a lot but i mean it. i am normally not into this type of books but i cant even wait for the second book and the first one isnt even out yet🥹🥹

I was skeptical while starting this book but damn, i may be a fantasy/dystopian enthusiast!!
this book is my roman empire and i declare it as my comfort book too (again)..

🧑‍🍳 “Hungry chef? You keep nibbling on me.” "Starving." 🧑‍🍳

if i have the chance i want to change my surname to Lavin officially. who doesnt like a god blessed family whose powers travel downway into the bloodline! but everyone fears the youngest, but why?

if the youngest snapped and decided to kill their family members? they would be the strongest. but what if this was the youngest's biggest fear? Amora Lavin is exactly what i just described.

👑 "It's a music box, not a jewelry box." "Box all the same mi vida." 👑

this book was an emotional roller coaster but in a romanticize everything that happens kinda way💓 to be honest i have no idea who to fall for in this book. Marko, Amare, Zaylen... you choose. you want a book bf, there is so much book bfs.

Amora Lavin , being the youngest in her family, she is forced to keep an image chosen by the council. Amora the kind hearted, but what will happen if her own people turn against her, fear her?

❤️‍🩹 “In another life, they would have been happy together.” ❤️‍🩹

okay guys are yoh ready for the book song? it is you should see me in a crown by billie eilish.
now come on this was an obvious one right here. but istg i love female characters getting a character development and being a badass 🤌🏻

˚⊹ the romance 𓍢ִ🌷
okay we all agree that a man should love his woman no matter what and in every situation right? MARKO JUST RAISED MY FUCKING STANDARDS EVEN MORE. aside from Marko all Lavin boys did the same too. Not gonna lie, my fictional bf list is getting bigger and bigger with every book.

THE PLOT TWISTS IN THIS BOOK!!!
⤿ I am not sure if you would consider this a plot twist to be clear. but whatever it was it had me sobbing at the end of the book in the middle of the class on a friday evening. yes i might or
might not have guessed this coming but still I WAS NOT ready at all.

˚⊹ to conclude 𓍢ִ🌷
okay one thing i learned; I have lost m ability of imagining things. or my english is not that good enough to let me imagine. BUT regardless this book was one of the best (and probably the first or third) fantasy book I have read. I LOVE THIS. I WANT THE SECOND BOOK. i know the first one is not even out but still.

enjoy the book my lovely friends 🍺 (iykyk)

What an amazing new take on your typical Royals storyline with its own magical flare. Once again Jasmine gave us a powerful FMC, Amora, who will do anything to protect her family line after the Gods have stopped answering her. I love all the twists and turns this book takes you on, to say I was on the edge of my seat was an understatement!! If you are looking for an emotional roller coaster then this is the book for you!

this book was an ARC provided by @sunnybabespr thank you always!!

this book was amazing!! i have been personally trying to get more into fantasy books and this was easily the best book that helped kick start my love for fantasy! i loved that the beginning of this book provides maps so you can understand the lay of the land. i am a sucker for books that provide maps, playlists, or anything that just help enhance the style of the book!

i loved the multiple POVs! i love hearing all sides of the story, especially from different characters! speaking of the characters, i loved Amora and all of her siblings, Winnie, and Marko🥹. all of these characters are so unique in their own ways and I truly felt like I was connected to them all!

this book was very well written and it 100% keeps you engaged and hooked throughout this whole story (THE ENDING?!)! please check this book out and give all of the love to Jasmine!

This book was incredible!! I've been making an effort to read more books, and this was undoubtedly one of the best that captured my interest in the genre! I loved that the beginning of this book included maps to help you comprehend the lay of the land. I love books that include maps and playlists, and anything that gets me more connected is an automatic win . I loved numerous points of view! I love to hear every aspect of the story, especially coming from different characters!

The characters were all great in their own way. When I read a book, I like to read it as if I'm sitting there watching and how amazingly this book was written. I was able to do that.

Thank you so much to Sunny Babe PR for giving me the opportunity to read and review this ARC. It was my very first and I really enjoyed it!

The narrative revolves around Amora and her royal family as they uncover and protect themselves and their friends from a rebellion. It includes lots of magic, love, arranged marriages and a few murder mysteries to solve 🙌🏻

I absolutely love the characters in this - especially Amora 💖. She’s warm-hearted, courageous and possesses a heart of gold, yet can also be vicious, destructive and frightening if anyone harms those she loves. She’s definitely a badass and an inspiration - especially since she’s the youngest member of her family bloodline 🔥💪🏻! Her siblings deserve a shout out too - Amare, Zoya and Zaylen are all so unique, talented and supportive of each other 💕. Then there’s Winnie, Amora’s personal guard who will do whatever it takes to keep her girl safe, and Marko, the only person that makes Amora feel like the happiest girl in the world 💗. Gosh, their relationship is seriously the cutest! 🥹

I really liked the various POVs in this too; it was so interesting to see how the different characters perceived the world and how the events they go through contribute to the overall narrative. The pacing in this was insane as well! It was a little slow at first but it picks up significantly quickly once you hit halfway, and from there on it’s a rollercoaster ride until the end 🫨 (the cliffhanger though! 😭💔).

The only issue I have with this book is the occasional spelling and grammatical errors towards the beginning, but it doesn’t detract from how amazing this story was. I’d love to have seen some more world building being fleshed out too. 😌

Overall this was a 4-star read for me and can’t wait to see what happens next in book 2! If you’re a fan of fantasy, unique magic systems, forbidden romance, and books inspired by gods & goddesses, then this is one for you to try!

1.5🌶️

Thank you to the author and @sunnybabepr for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

The Lavins are royalty in the land of Ceshela, having been blessed by the gods Cleo and Cato with more power than anyone in the land. They have their share of lovers and haters, but when a tragedy strikes their family, it is up to them to find out who wants them dead and why.

Whoa, that ending! Without giving away any spoilers, this does end on a cliffhanger. This gave me a bit of The Magicians meets Vampire Academy vibes because you have a unique magic system along with god and goddess lore throughout, but also royalty with a bff guard.

I’m gonna be honest with you, it did take me a bit to get into this storyline. There are quite a bit of characters that I found myself going back to the beginning just to refresh my memory. There is not a lot of world building so I did have a hard time imagining what kind of land we were in. But like most books I read with a lack of worldbuilding, the magic system is interesting enough to keep my attention. Plus there's the added bonus of a murder mystery. I don't think you'll guess the twists with this one because I sure didn't.

Heavy is the Crown was a wonderful fantasy novel in a myriad of ways. The focus on family was refreshing after a long streak of books primarily focused on romance. Though there was a little spice, the romance wasn’t always the main point of the plot which was awesome to read!

The FMC is strong while also able to show vulnerability. The different side characters all have purpose and dynamic personalities. The bonds between family members were strong and admirable.

This is a multi-pov book, though it doesn’t really follow any sort of pattern in terms of which pov is next and how long each is. I enjoyed the snippets of storyline you could get from other characters’ perspectives, and think the multiple povs overall added to the allure of the story.

I really liked the magic system as well, and enjoyed the beauty and cruelty in the way power was transferred from one individual to another.

Overall, 4 stars for a great read I'd recommend to anyone looking for a dark fantasy with a focus on family!

The Lavin Family are leaders and have magic from the Gods themselves. They rule the people with their council. Everyone has magic but they have more than others. They are royalty. When a bomb goes off killing most of their immediate family it’s up to rest of the family to found the traitors and who did it. Amora is the youngest and it is crucial that she is kept alive. Their magic flows from family members when they die so Amora is the prime suspect because if she killed her family she would gain all the power. Once this book picked up, it had me on the end of my seat. I felt for Amora so much. I loved her relationship with Marko. I really enjoyed a lot of the characters. I love the siblings and how they truly cared for eachother. I feel a lot of time in royal families the siblings aren’t truly close. It was just slow for me and at times confusing. I feel if there was more world building I would have understood things a little better. There was some errors in the writing. It didn’t really pick up for me until I reached like 70% of the book. Anyways, I give it 3 ⭐️ and a 1/5 🌶️

The things I liked: This high fantasy book has a sweet little romance and complex family dynamics. It has numerous POVs, the magic is a soft magic system, with some spice, and the world-building is interesting. Very unique; it isn't your typical fantasy story that leans on tired tropes. My favorite part was Marko and Amora's cute little romance; it's not often that a royal falls in love with one of the chefs (or a servant in general). Marko is a top-tier love interest. I also really enjoyed the sibling relationships that were the focus of the story. They felt genuine - supportive, but realistic and snarky at times.

The things I liked less: I felt like the story floundered at times with pacing difficulties. I feel like the bones of this story were good, but it needed a bit more ironing out. The magic system was a bit more soft without rules that I could see (I like hard magic systems).

"Hungry chef? You keep nibbling on me."
"Starving." 🤭

I really enjoyed the overall world & magic building of this book, and the differing perspectives offers so much more insight to the plot. Amora is very Katniss Everdeen-esque, sacrificing herself for the love of her family & friends.

This also ends on a cliffhanger, I am so excited to see where these characters go!

Thank you SO MUCH to @sunnybabepr for allowing me to be part of this tour! 🖤

This was a super creative fantasy world with a unique magic system that follows Amora Lavin, the youngest of her royal bloodline as she fights to keep her family, and chosen family, safe in a world of rebellion & God-blessed magic!

There is a romance b-line, which was so wholesome and sweet! And the few spicy scenes were 🤌😏 so be warned for open door explicit content!!

The ending… I will be thinking about it for a while 🥵 it was so tragic, so freaking beautifully heart-breaking!! And a cliff hanger!!

I will definitely be reading the next one 👀

The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 were a few grammatical/syntax things that stood out to me. But it didn’t bother me enough to stop me turning the pages until the very end!! 👀

Thank you, @sunnybabepr and @jasmine.lostinbooks for this ARC!

Heavy is the Crown is filled with so much action and the multiple POVs create such an interesting storyline! I loved the unique magic system — any book with magic and gods/goddesses is always a big plus for me! There’s such a beauty and cruelty in the way magic is transferred from one person to another in this book!

Parra sent me on such an emotional rollercoaster with this book as we follow the FMC, Amora, who would do anything to protect her family, the Lavins, and the twists and turns of her journey kept me on the edge of my seat! Her kind-heartedness, courage and at times viciousness, made her an intriguing and unique character! I couldn’t wait to see what would happen to the fate of her family as she sacrificed herself and agreed to an arranged marriage to continue the powerline and fight against a group of rebels trying to steal her family’s power.

I really loved and enjoyed the different relationships in the book (lovers/found family/friendships/allies). Amora’s relationship with her personal guard Winnie was fun to read and I loved the way Marko makes Amora so deeply happy — so many cute, endearing, and romantic moments! While there is a little bit of spice, this dark fantasy focuses more on family and their bond.

I’m so anxious to see what will happen next in book 2 as this one ends on a massive cliffhanger! I’m keeping my fingers crossed for more world building and history of this unique and intriguing world Parra created in Ceshela and the Forgotten Lands!

𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: 🌶️

𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲:
Amora Lavin and her siblings Amare, Zoya and Zaylen are princes and princesses, God blessed children of an ancient royal line. The only thing stronger than their sibling bond is their magic, which sets them apart from the citizens they rule. As discontent with the Gods and the Lavin line starts to simmer, Amora begins to here rumours of a conspiracy to overthrow her family and their Gods for good. Who can her family trust? Are there serpents in their court? Are the gods truely on their side?

𝐌𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬:
WOW. This book was a real roller coaster ride of emotions. But it was sooooooo good!

I love all of the siblings in this book even though Amora is the main character. They are each strong and loyal and fearless and would do anything for each other. Their relationships as siblings comes across in a really authentic way, with as much bickering and banter as there is love. Some of their interactions made me really laugh and at other times, I was literally in tears. In my opinion, Amora is a morally grey FMC who makes some questionable decisions but Parra always writes it in a way in that you can empathise with what Amora is doing.

I really enjoyed the mystery and suspense of the story as Amora and her siblings delve into conspiracy theories and terrorist plots to prove the true loyalties of those around them. There were some secrets which I saw coming but some other twists which really back handed me! The focus on the plot was building the fantasy world and the conspiracy plot but there were a few nice romantic moments too. This story gives me Throne of Glass and Realm Breaker vibes so I would definitely recommend if you love fantasy!

𝒮𝓅ℴ𝒾𝓁ℯ𝓇 𝒶𝓁ℯ𝓇𝓉: There is no HEA. Heavy is the Crown is the first in a series of many (not sure how many) books and I have a feeling it is going to continue to be a bumpy ride...

I’ve expected so much from this book. The tropes, cover, name…. Everything seemed perfect. On paper.
I’ll start with the positives, because there were some. A strong FMC who reminded me of Aelin from Throne of Glass was a huge bonus. Her mentioning on the first page how she was no longer angry at her brother because he gave her food was another bonus, I can relate a lot. The whole reverse superpower hierarchy idea was also new and great. The detective part was nice and thought-after. I couldn’t not like the good sibling relationship. And lastly, the ending killed me. Now, unfortunately, I’ll have to start with a huge list why I didn’t exactly like it.
I was misled by the forced proximity trope. It’s one of my favs, but I assumed it would be done with the MMC. It wasn’t. I can’t even say that there was a forced proximity trope at all. I feel like for the people searching for romantasy this would not be it because the romantic line is secondary, rushed, and I wouldn’t call romantic scenes well written.
Everything was just so EASY, like she randomly went out and they were holding the exact meeting she needed to hear about…. The interrogation scene wasn’t believable at all, and generally the writing style was not it for me, making me disconnect for my the story. I also feel like there was a lack of action. To summarize, as Taylor Swift said “and I feel perfectly fine, but I miss screaming and fighting and kissing in the rain”, but in this case I’m not only relating it to the romance, but also to the book as a whole.
Lastly, I would really advise to get the text checked for errors. I normally don’t care about typos and missed comas, but there were so many I just couldn’t ignore them anymore.
I do feel like it would be a good easy read for someone who wishes to finish another book and mostly forget all about it.

Thank you to Sunny Babe PR and Jasmine Parra for providing me the opportunity to read this ARC.

Heavy is the Crown is a rare combination of tropes that has so much potential with strong aspects of characterization and opportunities for plot advancement. If you love forbidden love, arranged marriage with LGBTQ representation combined with the fantasy world of Gods, Goddesses and Royalty, with some murder mystery elements thrown in. This is definitely a book (and hopefully series!) for you.

The multiple POVs were an interesting touch to help connect and coordinate the many elements and events going on, even if there was no discernable pattern to be able to predict who or how often each character was heard from. This overall added to the story by adding information that wouldn't have been available otherwise. The events felt a little disconnected at the beginning, this is noted in hopes that it was intentionally planned to played into the murder mystery elements and would continue to come together. The magical elements (and capacity of magic that varies between handlers and spell casters for example) were interesting and fresh in terms of how they were incorporated.

I did have a couple of minor issues including the mechanical errors, mainly at the beginning, which I found a bit distracting from getting into the story. In addition, I would have liked to see more time in the beginning spent just exploring and explaining the world building elements as I found it a bit difficult to have that sprinkled in randomly.

Overall, it was a good read and a really unique combination of tropes that all came together in a rollercoaster ride of action, twists and surprises! Can't wait to see what Jasmine Parra has in store for us in the future!

I literally saw a post once lemon8 comparing this book to Anastasia which is one of my all time favorite comfort movies and I liked&saved the post loosely adding it to a tbr section for after finishing Throne of Glass. I literally went through my kindle and thought this was a standalone book that would still keep me in fantasy and be fast paced so I was excited, and within the first 3 chapters I knew I would enjoy the FMC’s pov! I didn’t know where we were ending up but I’m such a sucker for this family’s dynamic and how each sibling has their own special relationship with each other whether it’s to work together, protect one another, or even arguing. The addition of the guards being best friends with each Lavin and being a found family was also so good!!! The magic system might’ve been the most interesting thing, this had such a good and devastating plot twist with the whole family that I had to put my kindle DOWN bc I was just telling my friend I knew things seemed to be going too well and nicely beforehand and that I was gonna cry soon, I was pleasantly surprised so many times at how this author could pull at my heartstrings. I will say my only downside is that there were some grammatical errors that caught my eye and made me feel at times that would bring my score down, like there hadn’t been enough proofreading before publishing but I’m not judging too harshly as I’m honestly leaning to like at 4.5ish rating, it’s not perfect but I’m so obsessed with these characters and this plot that I can mostly overlook that lol. I genuinely didn’t think this was going to end on a cliff hanger and with Amora being the only Lavin alive and becoming bloodthirsty but I’m all for it and I’m assuming (99.98% positive 😏) that ended with the twin gods coming to help her back off this vengeance high so I’m invested and I already NEED to know when the next one while be released!!!! I’m so happy to have found this story to keep me out of a reading slump and ready to read more, I hope that more people pick this up soon!

Wow just wow! First of all I went into this not knowing it would be a series (kinda wished it wouldn’t be as I feel like it would be more impactful but hard to judge, maybe there is big things planned for the sequel)

This story mostly revolves around Amora and her royal family throughout a murder mystery?? / rebellion. The world in this takes an interesting approach to the magic system with the magic flowing from youngest to oldest meaning youngest in line is the most powerful.

While the first half of the book was a solid 1 star for me the second half was definitely a 4 star read which leads me to land on a fair amount of 3 stars. The first half was rushed and I didn’t really pay much attention to any of the characters because I didn’t care for any of them, the romance was already pre-established a year before the book even begins. The rebellion and mystery doesn’t start for like the first 50 - 75 pages which was pretty mundane but I can appreciate the author was building the world but I just felt like it seemed too rushed.

Second half was just wow. I am crushed, screaming crying throwing up fr. We get to see multiple POVs which absolutely made the ending more painful. Was totally shocked with how it played out, although it was probably predictable from what was mentioned in the first half. Like I said I would have loved this to be resolved in the first book but it wasn’t but it depends how the next book plays out.

Will I read the next book? 100%

With my fantasies I typically look for strong world building and magic systems, which is where I felt that this book fell short. As far as the world it was understood that the youngest child, Amora, is feared because power is transferred from oldest to youngest, so if she decided to off her family, she would be OD powerful. I liked that premise, and the ending proved why.

As for the magic we never really got an indication on how it works, their limitations, or mechanics. BUT where it lacked in world building and a magic system it made up for with characterization, political intrigue, and a solid plot. I was enjoying myself even before sh** hit the fan, but that ending was not only unexpected, it hit me right in the feels. One of my favorite parts of the book was the bond with her family but more importantly her siblings. They went from braiding each other's hair in the same bed their parents they had since they were kids to that...

Also, I love how the Gods decide to show up finally...... I'm very excited for book 2. Before realizing it was a series, I was saying I wanted a book filled with Amora rage. Although, I like my epic fantasies a bit more epic I highly enjoyed this book and after finishing a book with purple prose it was nice to just be able to read and not have to worry about sucking so much in.

Thank you Sunny Babe PR for giving me this opportunity to read and review this fantasy ARC! And Jasmine, you crushed it! 🫶🏼

The Lavin family was gifted from the Gods with their magic, that ran down their family line. They ruled Ceshela with kindness and peace, with their youngest daughter, Amora always going into the city being with her people. Until one day there was an attack. The citizens of Ceshela that loved the Lavin’s now blame them for this attack and start to rebel and point their fingers mostly to Amora. As being the youngest Lavin they believed she caused this attack to obtain more power. Amora, her family, friends and lovers all band together to prove that the Lavin’s had nothing to do with this, while finding out who is responsible.

Thoughts 💭 : I really loved the characters in this- even though the narrative was around Amora, Zoya (another Lavin daughter) was my fav. She’s cut-throat, strong willed 💪🏼 and not afraid to speak her mind; reminded me a little of myself. They all were different but stopped at nothing to take care of each other💗

I also liked the multiple POV’s 👀 to see how each character was feeling in the event that was going on; and let me tell you there was always ✨something✨ going on.

This was a 4 ⭐️ rating for me! It was a great book and highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fantasy read.

Heavy is the Crown by Jasmine Parra
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This fantasy world, with its unique magic system, captivated me from the very beginning, whisking me away into a realm of rebellion and divine enchantment. Amora Lavin, the youngest of her royal lineage, serves as a beacon of strength and resilience as she navigates the perilous paths of safeguarding her family and chosen kin.

Amidst the backdrop of uprising and intrigue, a tender romance blossoms, adding a delightful layer of sweetness to the narrative. And for those who relish and devour a touch of spice, the few intimate scenes are expertly crafted, leaving a tantalizing imprint on the reader's imagination. 😏🌶️

But it's the conclusion that truly lingers in my mind, haunting the brain long after the final page is turned. The tragic beauty of the ending is nothing short of exquisite, leaving me emotionally stirred and utterly captivated. And with a cliffhanger that leaves much to ponder, I'm craving for the next book.

While the tale itself merits a perfect rating, I must acknowledge a few minor grammatical and syntax issues that caught my attention. However, they were hardly a hindrance to my immersion in the story, as I found myself eagerly flipping through the pages until the very end. Rest assured, I'll be eagerly awaiting the next installment, eager to delve deeper into this enchanting world.

Thank you for reading my review!

The Lavin family was blessed by the Gods centuries ago with power stronger than the normal being. They are the chosen rulers of the lands, but after an attack, 19 of them killed, only a handful of survivors are left. As members die, their power is given to those that survive. When fingers point to Amora Lavin, accusing her of becoming greedy and power hungry, she must figure out who she can trust and figure out who’s truly behind the attacks and stop them from killing off the rest of her family.
🤓My thoughts: My first thought finishing this book was WOW! The writing was so smooth. There wasn’t a lot of world building but it was a really fun read nonetheless. The romance was so cute, Marko is a man that is the definition of ride or die! and Chester? 👀 now that is a man of honor! All of the characters are so easy to love and really makes you want to be a part of the group. No spoilers but the ending?!! I need the next book NOW! I definitely recommend this book if you enjoy forbidden romance, arranged marriage, magic, royals, gods and goddesses, and murder mystery.

𝔅𝔩𝔲𝔯𝔟: The Lavin family has been blessed by the Gods making their magic to be stronger than anyone else’s. They have ruled over Ceshela for generations with love and peace, never abusing the powers given to them. However, their peace is shattered when there is an attack taking out most of the Lavin line. The people of Ceshela immediately point their fingers at the youngest Lavin, Amora. They believe she turned on her family for power. The remaining Lavins believe it wasn’t Amora and now they must figure out who the actual culprit was before it's too late.

ℜ𝔢𝔳𝔦𝔢𝔴: Jasmine how could you do this to me?!? I cried my way through the ending of this book and all cohesive thoughts have left my head…Everytime I thought/hoped the hits had stopped coming there was another one just around the corner. Ok now that I’ve gained some composure and some of my brain cells have returned…let’s talk about the rest of the book. Heavy is the Crown is written in multiple POVs and it makes for a really interesting story. I loved all the relationships that you got a front row seat for. I especially loved the sibling dynamic you got to see. The magic system was interesting and brought a new twist to the royal family story. There isn’t a ton of world building in this book so if that is a must for you then you may not love this book. That being said, if you love fantasy and mystery then this is the book for you! Personally, I will be here anxiously waiting for book 2!

Thank you to Jasmine and Sunny Babe PR for allowing me to be a part of this ARC read!

This book includes:
- Badass FMC
- Forbidden Romance
- Mythology
- New Magic System
- Planned arranged marriage

This book broke me. I have read so many fantasy books (not intentionally sad books) with sad scenes, but this is the one that made me cry.

"You will protect her, no matter what, do you understand. She's stubborn and will try to protect you more than herself, but I do not care. If it comes down to it, you lay your life down for her. She's too important"

"Queen's Order's"; "Your order or not, the second your life is on the line, I am taking you out of there. I do not care. You are my wife before you are their queen."

The magic system in this book is new and intriguing. It is very well explained, and the basis for how the magic is dispersed is constant throughout the book.

I fell for several characters for different reasons, and I cannot pick just one favorite: Amora, Amare, Zaylen, Zora, Winnie, Oren, and Raina; I adore the inner circle characters.

This is book one, and as such, it ends on an amazingly suspenseful cliffhanger.

Thank you, Sunny Babe Pr and Jasmine Parra, for allowing me to ARC read this book!

Oh my gosh, this was such a good story and desperately need book 2. Like this minute. 😭😭 the cliffhanger!!!

This is a story about the royal Lavin family that are blessed by the Gods with magic, Who end up under attack.
We get multiple pov, but mainly we follow Amora, the baby of the family. At 25 she knows her roll of the family. She'll eventually rule. She's trained for it since she was a child. However what unfolds after her parents go to visit family, is something she never prepared for.
I don't want to give anything away, but I went in completely blind and I'm glad for it.
There was romance, some spice especially at the beginning. Lots of action and suspense of not knowing what was going on.
And loss...oh my gosh the last part of the book broke my heart. 😭😭
A family who truly loved, cared, and protected one another at all costs.
Including the personal guards that were more like family as well.
And Chester...he's such a great character as well.
Of course Marko, the unconditional love he has for Amora is just beautiful. I love them together so much.

This book deserves more hype. So underrated.
I can't wait for book 2.

☀️Thank you Sunny Babe PR for sending me a copy of this to read and review!☀️

This was my first book by Jasmine Parra and I soooo enjoyed it! High fantasy? Check. Close knit family? Check. Romance and a little spice? Check check. It was fast paced and the plot was clearly defined, I would have loved a little more world building but that is not a issue at all I just personally am a fiend for knowing more about the world I’m being immersed in. I loved the family and their inner circle immediately. The hierarchy of how magic flows through the family was unique and the magic system in general was easy to follow along with, not taking away from the story at all when mentioned. When tragedy strikes a portion of Amora’s family that doesn’t live in their city they have to determine who they can trust in their own castle and who was responsible, giving a type of mystery crime aspect to this fantasy novel and I loved it. It does end with a cliffhanger, so be prepared for that but I am excited to see how this continues in book two!
