November 18, 2023I wasn't that impressed with it. I do love a big, burly roughneck though.
Briar (virgin, book smart but otherwise dumb doormat) is obsessed with this oil rig. She wants to see it up close, so she decides to go on a booze cruise with her friends. Marshall (ex-felon, roughneck) is sent out to chase away the boat full of rich kids that's encroaching on the rig. He sees Briar and duh, love at first sight. He takes her to his room on the rig and is about to do the deed but of course there's a f*cking interruption. So, we've got to wait for the consummation until later. I have no problem with Marshall. I didn't like how weak Briar was and how she wouldn't stand up for herself. What a wanker.
The sex was ok. In the end, read it or don't. Not sure it'll make your panties melt, but worth trying.
I'll still give the other books a try because I like big burly men.

Briar is the nerdy bookworm that has a great interest in chemical engineering. When a bunch of college kids say they go on a yacht and visit the oil rig, she agrees to come. But things on board change and when the oil rig crew boards the vessel, Briars whole life changes. Marshall is tasked with talking to the kids to make them leave the perimeter of the oil rig. His whole life changes when he meets Briar. He takes her with him and nothing and nobody will stop him from claiming his HEA😉 Instalove, age gap, steamy, romantic , OTT and safe with a sweet HEA 😍😍😍😍😍

Another marvelously written story with outstanding characters that’s an easy read as well as a page turner, which is a perfect steamy spicy romantic happily ever after.
A young woman who’s in college whose major is chemical engineering meets a roughneck on an oil rig out in the ocean. The roughneck had been in prison for a crime he didn’t do but he wound up getting out and suing the state for convicting him wrongfully.
A friend from one of her classes had her go on a boat with her and some of her friends. The friend and her friends only wanted to get her on the boat to get her to party with them, a guy wanted her to drink and when she wouldn’t him and the guy’s friends tried to force her to drink. The roughnecks' boss had him and another man from the oil rig tell a boat to go back to shore because they weren’t to be close to the oil rig and a storm was coming. When the roughneck got there he started telling them about not being allowed there and the weather but he noticed the young woman and what the guys were trying to do. With an objection from the friend he took the young woman to the oil rig.
They get on the rig, they go around and go to his room. While he gets cleaned up during the time he was cleaning up he masturbated. The roughneck gave her oral sex and released on her stomach. Soon afterwards a knock was on the door, the roughneck’s boss informed them about the coast guard coming to take the young woman back and to arrest him. The young woman wouldn’t file charges and when she got home her mother wasn’t happy about it.
The next day she went to college to class where she saw the people who were on the boat who tried to force her to drink. After class the guy who tried to make her drink came up to her but soon the roughneck was there. The roughneck took the young woman to a hotel where the two had sex several times. He tells her that he loves her.
The roughneck took her back to the oil rig. The young woman informed her parents that she was going, that she was old enough to tend to her own business and that if they interfered she would tell everyone where she’s at and with whom. They talked about his conviction and what happened afterwards. He was showing her around the rig when he gave her oral sex and then they had sex. They both tell one another that they love each other.
Five years later they are married with two boys, she got her master’s and is working for an oil company. The roughneck spent the rest of his money on a home next to the ocean close to both of their jobs. The roughneck hasn’t told his wife yet, he takes her to their new home but he hasn’t told her yet. They go inside, they kiss and he gives her oral sex then they have sex. The roughneck tells his wife that the house is their new home. His wife and his boys mean everything to him.

But the pnly reason that she has been invited is for the guys to get her drunk, what they had planned after that she can only guess at but when the crew from the oil rig board the boat and she meets Marshall she finds that the only place that she is going is with him. She knows that with him is where she is meant to be. But what will happen when the police arrive claiming that she has been kidnapped and how soon can she get back in to Marshall’s arms, will he still want her after all the trouble she has caused him?
Marshall has built a life for himself after spending years jailed for a crime that he hadn’t committed, but being free and suing the city hasn’t given him the closure that he wanted. Working on an oil rig away from people for moths at a time suits him, he is no longer considered a people person. It was a day that he wanted to end when his boss cautiously approached him about a party boat being too close and that there was a storm about to hit, he reluctantly goes out with a friend to warn them of the storm. Getting close to vessel he sees a girl who is trying to escape some drunk idiot male and his friend. Short and super steamy read that ha all the right ingredients for a Cassi Hart book, it’s a fun read with ultimately lovable characters and a HEA. 4* read.

When Briar sets out on a boating excursion with some of her classmates, she immediately knows she made a mistake. Her supposed friend is completely ignoring her, and the guys on board are teasing her and insulting her. All she wanted to do was get close to the big oil rig so she could see it for herself. As a chemical engineer, she is fascinated by how it works and thought this chance to see it up close would be worth it.
Marshall is so relieved to finally be off shift. When his boss tells him and a coworker they have to go and run off a boat that is getting close to their oil rig and warn them of an approaching storm, he is not happy. But when he gets their and finds the guys taunting the most beautiful girl he's ever seen, he is furious. He immediately steps in and offers to take her back to the rig with him to get her out of harms way and out of danger of the storm. Against her "friends" warnings, Briar jumps at the chance to go see the rig and to spend more time with the first man to ever catch her attention. Unfortunately, just when things are getting good, the Coast Guard announced the friends had reported that Marshall had kidnapped Briar and believed her to be in danger, forcing her to have to leave.
Rest assured, there is a HEA to come for this couple.
I have most, if not all, books by this author. You can always expect a short, well written story with lots of chemistry and great characters. This is no exception. This new series is fantastic so far. I love the unique jobs that she is taking on in these stories, and I look forward to future books.

Part of the A Big Burly Romance series each can be read as a standalone with a burly guy and the women who captures his undivided attention unintentionally. Briar is a chemical engineer an introvert doesn’t really like people so going on a boating trip with some classmates was against her better judgement but decided to go anyway immediately knowing she should have listen to her right mind and the friend she had gone with is totally ignoring her, the guys are making fun, insulting her when she just wanted to see the oil rig up close and personal. Marshall sexy as all get out roughneck huge happy to finally to be home only to get a call about having to go back out to run off a boat that is getting to close to the oil rig, warn them about an incoming storm to say he isn’t happy is an understatement but getting there to find some guys insulting the most beautiful girl really pushes him over the edge and he offers to get take her out of dangers of the storm taking cover in the oil rig of course she agrees against her friends warnings. Briar makes the decision to go with the first man who captures her attention not to mention he offers her a chance to see the rig to say the attraction was something off the charts would be an understatement their love was quick until her so called friends claim he kidnapped her sending the Coast Guard after her but will she convince them she is happy with her gentle giant, will he convince them they are meant to be together, will she realize her friends are really her friends, and will they be left alone to find the happiness only two introverts can have?

Loved this steamy quick read. A reformed bad boy/grump is a swoonworthy main character. Highly recommend!

She ends up being bullied by several of the boys on the boat until Marshall intervened and takes her back to the rig with him. Marshall's supervisor had asked him and Dex to get rid of the joyriding kids on the boat because a storm was coming in. Back in the boat he gives Briar a tour of the rig. They go back to his cabin for a heavy making session when he is interrupted by Dex saying the classmate told Briar's parents she was kidnapped. Next morning the Coast Guard takes her back to her parents. Next day in school the bully from the boat corners her again and Marshall steps in to save her. They go to a hotel for a romantic hook up. He tells her how he feels and they get their HEA.

The second book in A Big Burly Romance Series by Cassi Hart was just as good as the first one. Cassi has yet to fail me when it comes to delivering a good quality story. Once again, Cassi has written an original plot that was as exciting as it was entertaining. Big Brutal Roughneck had plenty of action, but most importantly Briar and Marshall were wonderful characters who I adored.
Briar is a little on the nerdy side and doesn't have any real friends. This is how she finds herself in an unfavorable situation on a boat out on the ocean. There is a storm blowing in and this group of college students has no idea the danger they could be facing. Marshall has been sent out to warn them away, but he realizes something isn't quiet right. Briar is lucky Marshall steps up to be her night and shining armor. Now she is on a speed boat headed towards the rig under Marshall's protection. These two have chemistry flying between them creating sparks that tingle up their bodies every time they touch. How will Briar get home now that she is on a rig in the middle of the ocean? Is it even possible for Briar and Marshall to find their happily ever after since they live in two completely different worlds?

Big Brutal Roughneck is book 2 of the Big Burly Romance series. It is a short and super-steamy, OTT, instalove, age-gap, opposites-attract, girl gets her hunk romance. Briar is a shy virgin and extremely smart, chemical engineering student. Marshall is an older, hunky, Roughneck who has worked on the oil rig for 5 years after spending 10 years in prison.When Briar goes out for a boat ride with some "friends", Marshall is sent from the rig to make them leave. A storm is approaching, and they could endanger the rig. When he enters the boat, he finds Briar cornered and being harrassed. He is drawn to her and immediately steps in. He asks her to go to the rig with him, and she agrees. Things get steamy, but then she is taken away. Will Marshall come after her? The heat in this book was enough to incinerate the pages, and the panty melting chemistry was INSANE 🔥🥵. I think Marshall might be my favorite alpha so far that Cassi has done. He is completely gruff and possessive and super swoon-worthy. I love how he totally consumes Briar and can't get enough of her. We also get an amazing HEA. This was such a fun, short, and spicy read.

This was a cute insta love romance that was 100% safe.
Marshall and Briar are two opposites that spark OTT chemistry when they are near each other. Their story is a quick, insta love with OTT possessiveness, attraction and affection.
I loved innocent Briar and her quirky obsession with the oil rig that Marshall works on. Watching her geek out when he gives her the grand tour was so cute! Things quickly heat up between them when they find themselves in close proximity and sharing only one bed :)
If you like short, OTT and extremely insta lust/love stories with little to no outside drama, big gruff Heroes and sweet innocent heroines, this one is a must!

I am loving the series so far. This is book 2 of A Big Burly Romance from Cassi Hart. The story is about Briar and Marshall. She went with people to the rig assuming it was to look at it. All she wanted to do was get close to the big oil rig so she could see it for herself. As a chemical engineer, she is fascinated by how it works and thought this chance to see it up close would be worth it. Her so-called friends brought her to make fun and push to do things she didn't want to do. Marshall comes to get rid of those kids but saw Briar and things changed. She saved her and got her on the oil rig. Unfortunately, just when things are getting good, the Coast Guard announced the friends had reported that Marshall had kidnapped Briar and believed her to be in danger, forcing her to have to leave. It didn't stop Marshall to get his girl and she would do anything too to be back with him. A great story and you are going to love the ending.

This delightful novella is a super sweet love story! Briar, an innocent college student, unwittingly entangles herself in a precarious situation. Marshall, a rugged oil rig worker, exudes a tough exterior and a no-nonsense demeanor. Having endured wrongful imprisonment for a crime he didn't commit, he's grown accustomed to solitude and has little interest in dating. However, fate intervenes as he crosses paths with Briar, a captivating damsel in distress, and his determination to make her his own becomes undeniable.The story gets really intense and steamy, making it a fun read for those who like a bit of drama and passion in their romance books.

This was one steamy book! Cassi Hart has a way of making you invested in her books right away. Briar is a bookworm and is serious about chemical engineering. She takes a boat ride with a friend and some others with the promise that she’ll get to see an oil rig. Unlucky for her, everyone one the boat is drinking and make fun of her for not drinking.
Marshall was sent by the oil rig to warn the boaters about an upcoming storm. When he arrives, he sees that Briar is in trouble. One look at her and he is a goner. He ends up taking her back with him to the oil rig and she is so excited about that.
I loved everything about this book! The characters were desperately in love and did not let anyone or anything stand in their way. I especially enjoyed the chemistry between the main characters.

Big Brutal Roughneck is the latest of Cassi Hart. I finished it in one day!
Her books are becoming more romantic and I really like the way the Hero softens his handling of the heroine in their interactions.
Protective alpha males that go gooey inside for their loves, is very sexy and appealing. It’s typical that our hero keeps saying Mine! when he claims his love. It would be cool to see her grab him and say Mine right back.
Briar meets Marshall in a boat close to an oil rig. They have an immediate intense connection when he saves her from a bullying group of college guys who want to force her to drink. He steps in to save her and takes her back to the oil rig with him.
It’s sexy, sweet and again very romantic.
I love Cassi Hart books!

Briar has basically been tricked on the boat with her "friends". She is called out for not wanting to be like themand in a blink of an eye she is saved by Marshall...a very hulking antisocial beast of a man. Their eyes meet and the ad enture begins.
I absolutely love the fact that, althought there is not literal intersection of the previous story, it is mention be the two FMCs are related.
I don't know how Cassie does it but she does...."Chef's kiss".

Briar is in college studying chemical engineering and is fascinated with the oil industry. When a friend offers an opportunity to go out on a boat and see a rig up close she jumps at the opportunity. She finds herself in a situation where she is trapped on a boat and the friend has set her up in a dangerous situation. When a storm starts brewing, Marshall is sent to chase off the college kids from getting to close to the rig and he realizes that Briar is in a bad situation. His alpha instincts kick in and he saves her despite his loner tendencies'. This is a OTT insta-love with an innocent girl and an alpha male bound to protect her.

I loved how Briar was different to a typical girl her age and embraced it, her fascination with engineering leads her to a chance encounter with Marshall, a hot, rough, gruff, ex-con, who instantly falls for Briar and saves her from some college bullies who are up to no good.
I found this to be very enjoyable, I devoured it and now I am going to go back and read the firat book in the series and keep my eye out for more.

This was a well written story with lots of chemistry and great characters. I wasn't sure how this romance would unfold with the suspenseful beginning for Briar. Thankfully, Marshall steps up and saves her but he also immediately sets out to make her his ;) He has a very rough past but he's loyal, intense and just connects beautifully with brainy Briar. They made a great pair that really knew how to burn up the sheets when they got in a room together. Lol! I'm enjoying this series that spotlights different trades and makes the tough men that do them so very attractive ;D

Briar and Marshall are my favorite couple from the series so far. Marshall has my heart completely. I can't stop swooning for that man. I need one in my life! His relationship with Briar is so cute. I love how all in he was from the beginning of the book. He is gruff and grumpy, but with Briar, he is everything she needs. I loved every scene in their love story. I will totally read it again soon. It's fun, sexy and SO good.

This is book number 2 in the A Big Burly Romance series, and it is just as great as book one is. I also love that each book can be read as a standalone. Briar and Marshall are some really great characters that will have you drooling over the hotness they have for each other. This book is a quick read that you will want to read over and over again. :0.

Briars fascination with the oil industry and not trusting her gut when a friend gives her a close eye view of an oil rigg leads her to Marshal . Marshal is sent to scare off the college kids boat when he spots Biar and knows shes meant for him, but taking her back to the rig causes more than just the storm raging outside. well written steamy engaging desires and more.
