What do you think?

The Fate Bound Saga #1
Bound by Chance
Secrets are being kept, but does the truth really set you free?
Until my early twenties, my life had been one tragic event after another. Which is why I was content with the mundane life I had with my fiance, Todd.
That is until two insanely hot strangers showed up, and told me he had been lying to me for the last ten years.
Oh. They also kidnapped me and whisked me away to a different realm as payback for past sins of my soon-to-be ex.
Now I'm a prisoner in a world full of magic I didn't know existed with five (no, make that six) gorgeous guys following me around and growling at anyone who tries to talk to me. Meanwhile the fae of this kingdom keep getting abducted, and I may be the key to saving them.
Lucky me.

I stopped reading by page 11
I’m sorry… cisgender men are typically arrogant? On page 11, I stopped reading. I do not want to read books that virtue signal and are filled with judgements and generalizations about ANY section of the population. I read RH books with all types of relationships highlighted. I enjoy them immensely, they are an escape from this crazy world. I read trigger warnings, though I thought I didn’t have a trigger… I guess the denigration of cisgender men was my trigger. What the other authors don’t do, is denigrate heteronormative people. This book may be an escape for some, but not for me. Gosh, I read Sci-fi, fantasy, historic fiction, I’m an avid reader. There are so many genres! Still, this one really was a hard pass by page 11.

I received an ARC of this book, but all opinions are mine and mine alone!
This book is easily my new favorite book! I loved it SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH! K.D. did a wonderful job managing so many characters and flipping between them all but still keeping things straight. I loved it and can't wait for the next one.

As a mood reader it took me a while to finish this book but that was a me thing not a book thing 😅
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I dove in but truly enjoyed the world and relationship building that occurred through out the story. Each mate had their own personality, trauma and backstory.
My favorite mate is the one she has the most agency with he is such a swoon worthy cinnamon roll in the streets alpha in the sheets 🫠
I loved that Arden really grew into finding her voice and inner strength. By the end of the story I was like yes girl!
It does end on a cliffhanger and I’m so excited for book 2 when it.

2025 re read: just finished a reread of this before book 3 comes out early next year. This was already one of my fav books (my first fantasy, first why choose) but the reread made me fall in love all over again. I love the story. I love the characters. I love the romance and banter. But that ending hurt me all over again. Stars.
2024: Wow wow wow…. All I can say is I am absolutely obsessed with these characters and immediately needing to start book 2….. Stars.

I was left speechless after reading this. This read was an emotional journey of a human woman that has lost her family due to unforeseen circumstances and is left essentially alone in her world which leads her to make questionable decisions against her intuition. Her journey of self discovery with her past/current life choices and to her own sexuality was both unexpected and empowering to witness. The FMC finds herself grappling with a romantic situation that herself would’ve never imagined. She soon learns the history of her family and that her life was a sham built entirely upon lies. What will become of her? Will she accept her fate? This book contains darker tones so check the content warnings. This is a must read for anyone who adores romantasy, scheming, brooding males and plot twists.

Another book with an entitled FMC. Why do FMC feel like they have a right to know every detail about the kingdom they are in. You have no right to know all military/defense secrets. You are a member of the kingdom now not the queen (at least not yet). Very predictable, changing povs, fae (with shifter abilities), starting to drag at 85%. I'm not planning on reading book 2 as book 1 just wasn't good to keep me interested. The MMCs also have a kink on calling the FMC "whore" both as being mean and also in the bedroom. blah

It's a fae world with shifters! I've been looking forward to reading more fae RH. Haven't read one in a while.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book but it felt like a lot of the conversations\plot lines were repeating itself.
1) Zoran doesn't want anyone mating with Arden.
2) The other mates complaining that they want to mate with her but not getting their way. Some refuse their betrothed but are still being forced to go through with it. (it's a weak plot point cause the stakes aren't very high)
3) Todd is mentioned but we don't exactly know how big of a villian he is. Arden does finally get to see and talk to him again but meh. It wasn't very charged. I'm sure we'll get more in the next books.
4) Not a lot of "world building" because they're pretty much at the castle they live in. Not much going on with the earth realm portion either.
There was a lot going on amongst the characters but not much to move the plot along. This is a slow burn with a fair amount of sexual tension.
She seems to accept the fae world without batting an eyelash which isn't a normal reaction. And nothing is really mentioned about that. Also, how can she not know what "fated mates" are given she likes to read fantasy novels.
Arden has 6 fated mates, with the 6th one probably being the best of all of them. Besides Zoran, the biggest asshole of the group, the other mates really just blend in and don't really have much personality to distinguish them. We do get POVs from all of them though.
Zoran is a dragon shifter, hotheaded, and possessive as hell. He doesn't really want Arden as his mate but won't let her other mates have her either. That continues for most of the book and is constantly referred to in conversation. He actually
Jarrah - he's one of the first to meet Arden. Apparently has consensual sex with her which she doesn't remember. I forget what he shifts into
Livarius - vampire, sweet Librarian(?) related to Iona.
Tavin - tiger shifter, feigns nonchalance with mate bond
Emyth - was betrothed to Arden's grandmother. Instantly dislikes Arden
Lysander - wolf
Who is NEV??? Looking forward to the next book and more mate bonding.
Tropes:
Snarky FMC
Chosen One
Enemies to lovers
Friends to lovers
OW drama (Some of the men are betrothed to women they dislike)
Non-con (even though it's listed, it really isn't non-con)
Spice - 2

Minor spoilers
This is more like 3.75 for me. I really really enjoyed a lot of elements in the book but for some reason I wasn't able to fully get into the book like I normally do so that makes me think this is more of a me issue than any issue with the book that prevented it from being a 4 for me.
The book is about Arden who is kidnapped from the mortal realm and is taken to the FAE world by two strangers after they revealed to her that her fiancé is not who he says he is and has lied to her for the last 10 years. The reason for taking her was for revenge against her fiancé and his sins against the Fae. However, this kidnapping to the Fae world sets off a chain of events that not only leads to her going to a new world full of wonders she had never seen before, but it also brings out into the light secrets about Arden and her past/family that she had no idea about.
I really enjoyed Arden and how strong she was even when she was thrown into a new world that she had no idea existed. She never took anything laying down. All of the mates were interesting and complex in their feelings about the mate bonds that it made for an interesting read. I will say I struggled liking Zorvan as I think the author wrote him a little too well as an ass. While he has his own issues with Arden, his past and her past it which make sense when we learn them it also sometimes seemed like he was around every corner waiting to slut shame her for even looking or hugging these other men who Zorvan knew were her mate as well. While she may have been unaware of the mate bond, he fully knew what was going on and was slut shaming her when really, he was just jealous of her budding relationships with the other mates. He did have some redeemable moments where he let her take charge and even encourage her and supported her when it came to some of the decisions, she made but it again just seemed like the next time we would see him he would have taken 5 steps back and fallen back on slut shaming her.
I liked the twists in this book, and I liked the cliff hanger as well and I am interested in the 2nd book and would defiantly read it. I think with the way this book ended that in the 2nd book when it comes out will have a redemption for him and his relationship with Arden that could easily make it a 4 if it done as well as this book. For a debut novel the author did a great job all around as it was an easy read with some good twists and character backgrounds/developments.

Definitely not AT ALL for me.
I'm not sure if there was an issue with my KU download, but the book opened up to Chapter 15 when I downloaded leaving me confused if I've tried this book before (I haven't). I scrolled to the cover page then Chapter 1 begins on the very next page. No publisher info, no trigger/content warnings, no note from the author. It was a bit odd. One chapter flows into the next without a page break.
Formatting aside.... This book came with ZERO content/trigger warnings as previously mentioned and it DESPERATELY needs them. I don't consider myself as someone with triggers, but I absolutely have preferences when reading. I would have skipped this one and the author would have been spared a bad review. And no, I will not be going to the author's website to try to navigate my way to this info. It should be provided right at the start of the book I've downloaded, IMO.
For future readers here is what you're in for: (not a complete list as I DNF this book)
- Physical assault of FMC by one of the MMCs (leaves bruising)
- Drugging of the FMC without consent or knowledge
- Implied (proven later) rape of the FMC while drugged
- Videoing/photographing FMC while being raped without knowledge or consent
- Verbal abuse from one of the MMCs to the FMC
- Slut shaming
- Implied murder of FMCs fiancee.
- Kidnapping
- Betrayal by FMC's fiancee (not cheating but he kept things from her)
- Betraying Body Syndrome (FMC was literally just assaulted and kidnapped not even 5 min ago and she's drooling over her captor)
- FMC making gross generalizations about the nature of "cisgendered men" (actual words used)
And here's the kicker: I only got to PAGE 20.
Maybe I'm being too harsh and things are later revealed that would make some of this make more sense, but for now this is too big of a NOPE for me to continue.
If this list of content warnings don't bother you: by all means give this one a chance. There is an audience for everything but I'm not a part of this audience in particular.

KD Fraser's Bound by Chance is the first book that I've read from KD. I received the second book as an advanced reader copy and didn't realize that it was book 2 when received, so I picked up book 1 to give a better overall review. Bound by Chance centers around Arden who was born in the human realm and lives in NYC with her fiancee Todd. She meets Zorvan and Jarrah and they take her back to the fairy realm where she uncovers all these truths about herself, her bloodline, and that she has more than one fated mate (Lysander, Tavin, Emyth, and Livarius). Todd was never one of them as he has been working with hunters to eliminate fae. I was impartial to all of her mates, but Jarrah as he was the most forthcoming with his feelings. There's magic, vampires, creatures, and definitely fantasy related adventure.
I enjoyed the story and that's what kept me hooked until the end. Unfortunately, the writing could have been better. I don't say this to deter anyone, I just mention it here so that potential readers are aware. Again this didn't stop me from reading because the world building was great, but I did take pause to some things such as, I didn't always understand what the characters were talking about; Arden had missed reactions (didn't react at all) to a world that she never knew about at times; I didn't like the miscommunication/lack of communication tropes that centered around the conflict between her and her mates; sometimes the formatting would change in weird ways; and a double check in proofreading before publication would benefit this book really well.
DON'T FORGET TO CHECK THE TRIGGER WARNINGS.
I am already reading book 2. So I definitely do recommend book 1.

K D Fraser. Thank you for your gift.
This is a really great read and my review is baised on how reading it made me feel. Overall i would recommend this book to others.
I rate as follows.
3 stars - A good enjoyable read
4 Stars - Outstanding read
5 Stars - OMG! Mind blown
This book is a 3.5 for me.
Vampires, shifters, Fae and dragons. Oh my!
I really enjoyed a lot of elements in the book but the constant hot and cold between Arden and Zorvan started to annoy me. I also felt Arden accepted her kidnapping and subsiquent rehomiong far to easily. it just didnt feel right. but that may have had something to do with her unknown heritage. So it was likely a me problem.
Zorvan was portraid as a major ass and I struggled with the fact he kept making Arden out to be a Wh**e. because of her relationship with her human pre kidnapping. Slut shaming her at every oppertunity, knowing the other males were also her mates but keeping her in the dak about that little tidbit. Arden, being unaware. Resulted in her being pushed into the arms of another. I liked Livarius.
In this installment the story grew slowly. At times i felt like it wasnt going anywhere. but in order to understand the world and the characters we needed to learn about who they are and having 6 mates. Thats a lot of individual personalities. That was achived in this first instalment.
Hated the cliffhanger. i felt like the story was finally getting somewhere and poof it ended. (Thats cliffhangers for you) If this book is anything to go by then book 2 is going to be a doozy. I'm really looking forward to that one and hoping its not going to be years from now.

Fate Bound
Fantasy reverse harem, lost and found heritage, fated mates, royalty. This first volume is a long, well written story which continues in the next book. There are a few punctuation and word errors. The main male characters for the most part are very old fae princes in one of three fae kingdoms. They have established lives and resist the fated mate bond. The female main character has been raised human and is in her late? twenties.
Spoilers follow: the FMC is living with her fiance of 10 years in NYC when she runs into a handsome but intense stranger. She "loses" 24 hours and her boyfriend comes home just as the stranger appears. Fighting ensues, she is kidnapped and dragged into the fae realm as leverage against her fiance who has been living a secret life. It turns out she was spelled to forget the 24 hours because she had a wild night with 2 fae who recorded her to punish the boyfriend. Thus begins a convoluted tale of deception, violence and bizarre romance between the FMC and the male princes. They hide their knowledge that she is really fae and the 5 princes are her reluctant fated mates. There are numerous uncomfortable scenes where the woman says no as her mind cannot accept her body's acceptance of these men, and the men just ignore her. I realize this is fantasy fiction, but it is quite unacceptable to glorify this behavior. After much confusion they finally reveal her heritage and most of the mates decide to woo her after all. Meanwhile, her lying fiance is exposed, her birth family is revealed, and she fights off various physical attacks by other fae. This book ends with the expected cliff hanger.

Ok I have been itching for a book just like this, fantasy, enemies to lovers, multiple mmcs and this Arc from Fraser checked EVERY boc.
I don't even know where to start. This book had me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't put it down. Our fmc is headstrong and waits for no one. From the start she takes the initiative (after being kidnapped) to try and free herself. Sure she could have wallowed over all that had happened but being the weakest, physically, in the room never seemed to stop her. Let's not ignore her uncanny ability to push EVERYONES buttons especially her mates. Her mates are a different breed of alphahole. Determined not to like her and falling a little bit at a time the push and pull in this book never ends. For a woman who's "just a human","just leverage", "Just collateral damage" they really can't keep their hands off of her. I will warn you when it comes to triggers this does have a few including rape so bear that in mind. This book was so beautifully written and filled with angst. Friendships are tested, newfound loyalties challenge the old and it all collides at the end leaving us all in ruins as we desperately await book 2. I can't wait to see the groveling that will most definitely take place in book 2.
-SIX possessive men
-touch her and die vibes
-forbidden? sort of
-forced proximity
-dubcon
-noncon

Friendships are tested, newfound loyalties challenge the old and it all collides at the end leaving us all in ruins as we desperately await book 2. I can't wait to see the groveling that will most definitely take place in book 2.
-SIX possessive men
-touch her and die vibes
-forbidden? sort of
-forced proximity

For a first novel, this is a banger. I had a total of three issues with the book in order of how much they irritated me.
1. The insta-attraction. I'm not saying it's impossible, but having it happen with a multitude of men, regardless of how hot, felt like we were glossing over the depth of these relationships and what these men had going for them beyond their looks. Am I asking the author to stop making men into objects? Not even a little. Am I asking for a 900-page backstory on Lysander with full-color photos and maybe tasteful nud3s? Yes. I am.
2. More. Just more. More description. More information. More lore. More More More. This isn't a criticism; there's plenty in the book, but what I got wasn't enough, and I'm definitely going to devour book 2 to keep building my vision of this world. Whoever is fan-casting, tag me immediately.
*BIG SPOILER* 3. This didn't hit me until my second read through... for a dark fantasy... the very idea that Arden had to be in any way memory-wiped or inhibitionally-coerced (it's a bad choice of word as it's not coercion in a bad way but it's dubcon for sure) to hook up with ANYONE while with Todd, let alone that she'd ever go back to Todd? That's a bridge too far. Arden going home, hitting Todd with her car, and then driving off with the FAE would have been much more likely. But it would have been a shorter, less satisfying, less addicting read.
Snatch. This. One. Up.

I absolutely loved this book so much! It was an addicting read and I’m ready for the next one!
Note: Does end on Cliffhanger.
The relationships builds but there isn’t a bull moment the entire time. Sexual tension is always present. This is a fairly spicy book with on page acts.
The FMC has a lovely self discovery journey, sexuality, and accepting her true identity. She has a lot of spunk and I love it! The author does a great job of showing not only the FMC perspective, but also the perspectives of the MMCs.
Fae, Shifters, Witches and Magic, Jealousy, Heart-ache, Passion and Love, Fated Mates and Chosen Mates… what is not to love!
Triggers: included in some context (some just mentioned*)
Sex trafficking*
Forced pregnancy*
Non and Dub con by both MMCs and non MMCs
Violence
Character death
Animal death (hunting related)
Homophobia*
Strained familial relationships
Patriarchal bullshit
Physical assault of FMC
Drugging of the FMC
Implied rape (was consensual, told later)
Verbal abuse from one of the MMCs to the FMC
Slut shaming (A lot!)
Implied murder and Murder
Kidnapping
Betrayal
Betraying Body Syndrome
"cisgendered men" generalization
And the following kinks/sexual content
Blood play
Violence
Breath play
Degradation
The FMC being shared
MM relationships
Primal play
And more

This book definitely has all of the ingredients I look for in my favourite genre:
Fantasy/Fae ✅
Fated mates ✅
RH ✅
Power imbalance ✅
Talk of breeding ✅
FMC with unknown powers ✅
Super possessive MMCs ✅
…and in general, I really enjoyed this. I was invested in the plot, there was depth and backstory provided, and the slow burn romance has a lot of potential. I don’t normally start books in an incomplete series, but the other reviews convinced me and I have no regrets.
However…there are also some things I did not love. For example, I feel that some of the situations are handled quite clumsily. Like the 24 hours her memory was wiped. And how after she is taken away from the Earth realm, the guys are all possessive without giving us any insight into why. And the whole last 30 pages or so. Also, I don’t really love multiple POV’s and this book has around 7 different ones. Several times I had to scroll back to the start of the chapter to figure out whose head we were in.
To be honest, I’m not sure that whenever the next book is released I’ll still be invested enough to continue. But for now, I did enjoy this one.

Bound by Chance is an absolute blast of magic, mystery, and swoon-worthy romance. Imagine discovering your boring fiancé is a liar and then being whisked away by two insanely hot strangers to a magical realm. Yep, that's just the beginning!
Our heroine finds herself in a new world where she's the key to saving the fae, all while being surrounded by six gorgeous guys who are fiercely protective of her. The plot is packed with twists that keep you guessing, and the slow-burn romance will have you hooked from the start.
Fraser's writing is snappy and vivid, making the magical world come to life. The characters are fun and dynamic, and the chemistry between them is off the charts. Plus, the book doesn't shy away from steamy moments and even throws in some M/M intimacy for good measure.
The best part? There's a cliffhanger that leaves you begging for more. Bound by Chance is perfect for anyone who loves dark fantasy with a modern, fun twist. It's fast-paced, sexy, and totally addictive. Don't miss out!

Bound By Chance by KD Fraser is book one in The Fate Bound Saga Series. This is the first book I’ve read by this author but I believe this is the author’s debut novel. What a start to what will most likely be a great series! This book had me addicted from the opening chapters… holy smokes!!! I read the book in about a day, I was so interested in what I was reading. It’s a why choose romance mixed with fantasy and I found that the female protagonist was super relatable. This book definitely took my emotions on a ride… I honestly think I felt the full spectrum of them with this book. I will mention that there is a cliffhanger at the end that has me even more awaiting book two. I loved how KD Fraser described the settings of the book, it was easy to imagine them and that added something more to the reading. I’m and fan and can’t wait to see more from the author.

Uncomfortable in parts, but a good story
There are parts of this story that are very uncomfortable to read. I did read the warnings and decided to try it anyway, and the story is worth it, but if any of the warnings bother you just know that some of the worst things aren’t what they seem, however, the way FMC is treated is often unkind and no leeway is made for her culture shock. Again, the story is good, and if some of the triggers weren’t my triggers, I’d probably say great. It does end in an awful cliffhanger, which I’m not a huge fan of, but I’ll definitely be reading the next book. You can’t help but root for Arden. And Zorcan deserves everything that’s coming for him. I can’t wait for her to rise up and put them all on their royal rumps (keeping it PG for the Zon), at least I hope she does. She’s strong, and when she’s confident, she doesn’t let anyone push her around.

Honestly after reading some of the reviews I don't know why people didn't like the book. I was reading it trying to wait till where it got really bad that I would DNF the book, but I didn't find any. Maybe it's a trigger but if it is then don't read the book.
I really like the book. I never thought of the concept of having that many mates. Like I read books where there's like maybe two mates to one girl this one being as many as there are I literally was trying to figure out how the heck that's going to work! I was on edge every time I learned new things about Adren and her past. There a lot of details that go into this book so that you learn about why most of the mates are how they are and to build the story. Yes it is slow burning for some of them and others it's, I wanna say medium burning. I loved the concept and the plot. Now I'm going to dive right into book two. That ending left me hanging!!

Unfortunately this book just wasn’t for me. I wanted to love it. Truly tried to fall in love with it. Overall the story is great. I love the diversity of the characters personalities and how everything is intertwined. But the slow burn is painfully slow. To the point I also just stopped reading because it seemed everything was being drug out. I ended up pushing through hoping for the big “wow” but it just didn’t happen.
This most likely could be that there are a lot of different points of view in this book. Which I find very important to understand how each character feels, but just seemed to take forever to get the climax of the book to then be left on a cliffhanger immediately after. Reads as that this would be the first book in a VERY long series. We shall see what happens when the next book comes out, may change things completely.

This book follows Arden an innocent unsuspecting average girl from New York, as she is thrown into a world she didn't even know existed. She is ripped from the life she knows when someone from another world comes looking for her boyfriend and they take her to get back at him. Little does she know her boyfriend has been keeping secrets for the 10 years they have been together. This book is very well written, it has Shifters and other Fae, There is a bit of spice but not too much. You will easily fall for the characters, there are some TW in the book so check those out before reading. At 47 Chapters it's not too short or too long I read it in about a day and a half. Once it got into the good stuff I really didn't want to put it down. I can't wait to read the next book. Oh, I will say the ending is sort of a cliffhanger which I don't like, but the book was really good.

This was a new to me author and I’m so glad I took a chance. This book was fantastic, the world building was great and I like the characters we got to meet.
Arden is a strong FMC but she has her insecurities like all of us, but that only enamours you to her even more. Livarius offers her calm and love like she’s never seen before even though he has his own demons. Jarrah, Lysander, Emyth & Tarvin are all Zorvon’s best friends and despite doing all they can to fight the feelings for Arden you get to understand the reasons they are the way they are and you can’t help but root for them. Zorvon comes across as the biggest a$$ but you soon come to learn about things in his past that have shaped how he behaves towards Arden, I’m excited to see if he can grovel enough to win Arden over.
I’m looking forward to continuing the series.

Really hooked me
This is the first book I have read from this author and it is a great start!! It is a fantasy RH that has mates, shifters, fae, unknown magic, found families, enemy's to lovers, possessive alpha males. It is a really good story line that follows Arden trying to make the best of the situation she finds herself in being kidnapped by 5 big handsome shifters that have totally uprooted her life. It does end in a cliffhanger that has be anxiously waiting the next book to see what happens!! I would've given 5 stars but there were a few grammatical errors that I can totally over look but did distract, however; not enough to deter me from reading. Seeing as it's her first book I'm sure they will eventually be fixed. Over all I definitely recommend to anyone that likes fantasy and RH.
