I really enjoyed this book. It’s a sweet opposites attract romance. The story held my attention well and the character development and interaction was nicely done. There was lots of emotion, laughter and some teary moments and just the right amount of steamy scenes thrown in to enhance the story. I received an advance review copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.
The wedding of blueblood socialites Archer and Ashley is billed to be the wedding of the year in New York City. There is only one problem - the bride is MIA and not returning any calls. So billionaire Archer Ryatt does what anyone would do and takes his younger sister Penelope (Pip for short) along for the honeymoon in Hawaii. Shiloh Gates is a marine biologist who, as a freelancer, dives for a living, helping university and private companies with research assistance. Hoping to conduct research into the Hawaii to Alaska whale migration, she is working hard and saving everything she can.
Pip meets Shiloh at a market and when Pip hears her story, she immediately offers to hire Shiloh to be a tour guide for Archer, to the tune of $30,000! And, voila, a meet-not-so-cute but with definite possibilities. And so their expedition into having fun commences and appears to be going “swimmingly,” including romantic sparks, when he receives word from his father that Ashley wants to get married after all. It turns out that Ashley and her parents had bamboozled them into a contract that would net her ten million dollars and a seat on his board of directors if he reneges on the wedding proposal.
Will Archer return to the fold and dutifully fulfill the contract that will bind him to a loveless marriage? Will Shiloh confess that she is being paid by Pip to ensure a few days of happiness for her brother? What will happen to the fledgling feelings they are experiencing?
Oh, my what an unputdownable page-turner Jacob Parker has created in this installment of the Traveling Flings Romance series, this time in one of the most natural, lush, beautiful locations on the planet - Hawaii. Don’t miss this gem as we follow Archer and Shiloh, along with their sidekicks Ryder and Pip, as the plot wends its way from New York City to Oahu to Valdez, Alaska. What a great story, complete with a surprise ending!

This is a slow burn romance between rich boy Archer and marine biologist Shiloh. Archer is dumped at the altar by money grubbing Ashley, an arranged marriage he doesn't really care for but is going thru with because he always does what his parents expect. When Ashley leaves him at the altar, his sister Penelope, helps him get out of the venue...and suggests that they take his honeymoon to Hawaii together...to get away from all the gossip that is sure to follow. Penelope befriends Shiloh, who needs funding to follow the whales back to Alaska, so Penelope arranges Shiloh to be their tour guide for the 2 weeks, without Archer's knowledge! So begins a 2 week adventure, where two completely opposite people realize that they bring out the best in each other...but they're so different, neither fits in the other's world very well. There were quite a few moments where I wasn't sure that things were actually going to work out, but of course, they do! I also enjoyed the 2nd romance tucked inside this story for sweet Penelope. Definitely a great book to read!! I received this book as an ARC for my voluntary review.
Archer had his future all planned out. Get married, have kids, continue running his company, and build his family's wealth. But then the fiance that was perfectly chosen for him abandons him at the altar. His sister Penelope convinces him to take her and go on the planned honeymoon to Hawaii. There, he meets Shiloh, the polar opposite to every woman in his life. Not only is she beautiful, but she is carefree and vibran a free spirit. She is a marine biologist and lives on a boat. When Archer is determined to hide out in his room during the vacation, Penelope hires Shiloh as a "tour guide " to get Archer out and make him have fun. But sparks quickly fly between the two of them, and the chemistry is instant. Beyond that, Penelope is also attracted to Ryder, Shiloh's best friend. Opposites attract all around in this cute book. They obviously have a lot of details to work out to make these long-distance romances work, but work they do. This is a quick read with a great plot, fun characters, and no unnecessary 3RD act breakup, YAY!!!
ARC was provided by the author, and this is my honest review.
Archer is very wealthy. All he really cares about is his work and his goals. He’s a very tense person. He gets left at the altar at his arranged marriage wedding, which according to him is a good thing. His sister Penelope convinces him to go on his honeymoon anyway, and to take her with him, so they can get away for awhile. So off they go to Hawaii. Shiloh is a marine biologist and does research in the ocean for universities and private companies. She lives on her own boat. She loves her work. Shiloh is on the beach reading a book and Archer has to jump over her to avoid a whole family running at him. Well, that’s how they meet. He’s mesmerized by her. Archer and his sister have problems with their ex-fiancés throughout this story, but with a little determination all goes well. You truly feel this love story within you as you read. The love is over-flowing with not only Archer and Shiloh, but also with Penelope and Ryder, who is Shiloh’s best friend. It seems Hawaii is the place to let go and relax and fall in love.

What a lovely book to read, curled up on the sofa during these dark winter nights in the UK. I loved the slow but sweet story between Archer (a workaholic gazillionaire) and Shiloh (a marine biologist who lives on her boat!) On Archers wedding day he got stood up, waiting for his bride to arrive. They didn't really love each other as she was always after his money and lifestyle. So his sister Penelope tells him he should still go in the honeymoon to Hawaii and take her with him. She needs a break from her boyfriend. When they arrive Penelope meets Shiloh and the pair join up to get Archer to loosen up and do loads of activities with the locals. Penelope pays Shiloh money to entertain her brother. They go surfing where Archer gets to meet Shiloh's best friend Ryder. Archer let's his hair down and enjoys everything. Will they get their HEA or will interfering ex's get in their way. You will have to read it to find out. Thanks Jacob!
Archer finds himself being left at the altar and ends up going on his honeymoon with his sister. He meets Shiloh, who his sister offers to pay to be his tour guide unbeknown to Archer and from the outset this sounded like a bad plan once the truth came out. Throw in the ex who is still after Archer’s money, his sister’s fiancé who is also after her money and it all becomes very messy but makes for an interesting read. Pre-nups and contracts seem the norm for this wealthy family much to their own detriment. Archer had me worried at times. I wondered if he would end up marrying his ex to avoid losing his business. Shiloh however had a strong personality and wasn’t prepared to be classed as the other woman. They arrive at their HEA eventually and the Epilogue to the story finishes things off very nicely.

This is a such a sweet story about Archer who was left at the altar, his sister managed to convince him to go for the honeymoon that he paid for to get away from all the gossips that were going around. Whereas, Shiloh is a free girl who works for herself and lives in a boat as she loves the ocean. When the two main characters met, they seems to like spending times together until they grew a very strong connections. The only problem is that Archer lives in New York and Shiloh in Hawaii. Another plot twist is where Archer's ex wants a second chance with him. What happen next, well you will have to read it to find out as it will get more interesting and you will read it in a go for sure. It is such a good book that you will not regret having it in your library. I highly recommend this book!
Latest in the travelling flings series. A truly heartwarming story in a beautiful setting. Archer, a billionaire self-made businessman, from a family of good standing in New York is all set to settle for marriage to Ashley, she is socially acceptable, has his parents approval and is, by all accounts, an appropriate wife. When she stands him up at the altar he is upset, humiliated, and a bit relieved. His sister, Penelope, persuaded her workaholic brother that he wouldn’t let the honeymoon go to waste, he’d already booked the time off after all, so they head for Hawaii where Penelope is determined to make sure he stops working and actually kicks back and lives life for a change, instead of just living by his calendar. What happens next is anyones guess. A lovely story in a beautiful setting, a thoroughly enjoyable read, which I received as an ARC.
This is book four of this series, told in dual first person POV and leaves you with a HEA. This story not only gives the couple a HEA, but you also get to see two other people build a relationship and get their HEA.
I wasn’t a fan of Archer in chapter one, but by chapter two and on, he won me over. It was interesting to see the struggle he had to go through in order to get his HEA. I was happy to see how he handled the whole situation while also standing up for himself and his sister. I loved that Shiloh was humble, down to earth and was able to bring out the true Archer. I loved that she was a strong independent woman who knew her worth and didn’t let anyone tell her otherwise.
I received an advanced readers copy via the author. These thoughts and opinions are my own and left voluntarily after reading for my own personal enjoyment.
A slow burn romance between opposites. Archer is wealthy and always tries to please his parents, even to the point of an arranged marriage. He was relieved when she left him at the altar. His sister talks him into going on his honeymoon to Hawaii and taking her. That's when he meets Shiloh, a marine biologist. His sister plays matchmaker and hires her to be their guide for two weeks. Plenty of drama as his ex comes back into the pictures and threatens his business. She's a money grubber, as is his sister's fiancé. A world of prenups, lawyers and contracts. Plenty of angst as he keeps on edge, wondering if he's going back to his ex. Eventually an HEA. I read a free arc via the author and voluntarily chose to review it.
Gushing!!! Mr. Grumpy and Ms. Sunshine. Supportive family members and friends. Fiancé from down below. And a HEA to make one smile real big. Archer and Shiloh -chemistry and attraction and the back and forth (had me smiling so much). Shiloh is hired on as a tour guide but one thing leads to another and yes. I wouldn’t say a slow burn but a nice build up. When we got to the spice-It got SPICY (me internally yelling yes! Many times). I appreciated the set up/the story line. It was sweet with a hint of sass.
* instant connection * HEA * Spicy * Protective/supportive
I did not want to put it down once I started.

5 Stars I received a free copy of the steamy novel One Night in Hawaii: A Traveling Flings Romance Book 4 by Jacob Parker and this review was given freely. An easy-flowing opposites attract novel which evoked fond memories of Hawaiian sites. I loved seeing Archer and Penelope breaking the molds their parents were forcing them into for a more relaxed and love-centered life.
When the jilted wealthy New York businessman Archer Ryatt is left at the altar by his status-focused parents’ selected fiancée Ashley, his sister Penelope escapes with him on his 2-week Hawaiian non-honeymoon, where they find friendship and love despite Penelope’s well-meaning interference, their controlling parents, and a get-rich-quick scheme.
This is an absolutely brilliant read. Archer, a billionaire and forced into an arranged marriage, is jilted at the altar and his sister Penelope makes sure that he goes on the honeymoon, taking her along with him. Shiloh is a free spirit and loves her life. When Penelope meets Shiloh they get on like they have known each other for years so she asks her to be their tour guide and to make her brother smile again. There is an instant attraction when Archer and Shiloh first meet but she tries to ignore it. They get closer the more time they spend together but with his ex back on the scene is there really any hope for them. So much drama but also a love that can't be denied. Absolutely loved the ending. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
One Night in Hawaii, book four in the Travelling Flings series follows Archer Ryatt, a self-made billionaire businessman, and marine biologist, Shiloh Gates. When Asher’s bride-to-be Ashley never shows up at their wedding, he decides to take his sister Penelope with him to Hawaii, which had been the spot for his honeymoon. When Penelope meets Shiloh, she hires her to be Asher’s tour guide. Everything is going great, and the attraction and chemistry between Archer and Shiloh until Ashley comes back into the picture. In order to stop Ashley from screwing Archer out of a large sum of money, and a seat on his board of directors, Archer tries to mend things. But will Archer be able to return to a loveless relationship? Or will his time with Shiloh be enough to make him change his mind?
This story of billionaire Archer Ryatt falling head over heels in love with marine biologist Shiloh Gates in Hawaii while on his un-honeymoon with his sister Penelope was great. There were so many different storylines in the book, what with all the hassles back in NYC for both Archer and Penelope, Shiloh's BFF Ryder falling in love with Penelope, and Archer and Shiloh trying to navigate their new-found love = but everything was neatly developed into a quite satisfactory ending. The unstated message I got from this book was that rich people weren't always so stuck up and could blend in with normal, everyday people. Overall, it was a great, feel-good read that I recommend to everybody.
This is book four in A Traveling Flings Romance series and it is Archer and Shiloh’s story. When Archer was left at the altar his sister Penelope talked him into going on his honeymoon to get away from the media and scandal and Penelope would go with him as she needed to get away as well. Shiloh was self employed and lived on her boat and dived while helping with ocean research for universities and private companies and she loved what she did but at the moment for some reason she felt restless and didn’t know why. When Penelope meets Shiloh and asks her to be a tour guide for her brother to get him out of his funk she agrees not knowing that she had already met him and the more time that Archer and Shiloh spend together the stronger their attraction and chemistry grows but with Shiloh living in Hawaii and Archer living in New York nothing can ever happen between them especially as Archer’s fiancé now wants a second chance as she is not prepared to give up her golden egg after all the work that she had put in so where does that leave Archer and Shiloh in the long run other than their feelings and connection which is so strong and unique so will they ever be able to sort out all the differences, complications and problems that are constantly thrown at them and in there lives and get the happiness and future that they both want and deserve. We get a added bonus of Penelope and Ryder who is Shiloh’s best friend’s story as they also fall for each other. Wow I read this book in one sitting because it was so addictive and a real page turner that pulled you in and kept your attention throughout and I also felt like I was there with them living through all there pain and experiencing the culture of Hawaii. I definitely recommend you read this book and you will not be disappointed.
I could not read this fast enough. The relationship between Archer and Shiloh was sweet and hot, but it was all the ex-fiancé drama that had me madly flipping pages to find out how that chaotic mess would be resolved. I loved the way this pair taught each other to live their lives more fully. She brought Archer out of his grumpy hermit shell, and he encouraged Shiloh to keep believing in her dreams. The sister and best friend were a fabulous support system for our main couple, and I kind of hate letting go of all four of them now that the book is over. I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author.
When Archer is left at the altar his sister convinces him to take the honeymoon and she would go along with him. Together they ride out the storm left by his now ex-fiancé. He connects with Shiloh in Hawaii and sparks ignite between these two. As their feelings grow his ex-fiancé has a change of mind and wants to marry but he isn't having any of it. When the truth comes out it will be an eye opener for both him and his sister as to what was going on between their partner's selected by their parents. Will Archer and Shiloh get their chance to find happiness with each other given the drama surrounding them. I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.
Archer and Shiloh are struck by lightening the first time they're eyes meet. And when she gets him to jump off the yacht into the ocean, he is hooked! With the outstanding supporting characters, his sister and her best friend, love is everywhere! This book had me from the beginning when he is left at the alter, Oh My! With his creepy ex try to get him back, when she left him at the alter, sure glad he went on "their" honeymoon with is his sister! Hawaii sure was the place for them to meet their HEA's! A must read, Jacob won't let you down, steamy, sweet, hot and swoon worthy! Thank you Jacob!
Loved, loved, loved this book. Loved the storyline between Shiloh and Archer. Loved the connection between them both. Their chemistry was sizzling 🔥 I Can imagine how their love would grow being in a paradise such as Oahu. I holidayed there once and this book brought a lot of memories back especially my visit to Pearl Harbour and the feeling I felt that I couldn't find the right words to describe how I felt while standing in the Memorial. Jacob has done a wonderful job with expressing "the haunting reminder of what was lost and the Profound Silence that settled over us" while visiting. Such a fabulous book. Not to be missed.
Archer gets stood up at his wedding and his sister. Penelope, talks him in to taking his honeymoon to Hawaii with her going with him. There Penelope meets Shiloh and gets her to agree to be their tour guide to try to help her brother get out of his mood. Shiloh and Archer hit it off after spending time together. As they grow closer, they have to deal with his life in New York and her desire to go on an expedition to study whales. I love how the story shows how they are both feeling when apart and how Archer has grown out of his shell.
Wowsa this book was absolutely fantastic and will definitely have you enthralled from the beginning until the end and the storyline flows throughout the book. Archer gets left at the alter and when his sister insist they go on his honeymoon vacation to get away he meets Shiloh a marine biologists who ends up being a tour guide ,but when he finally let's his guard down and learn to have fun and live life will his ex come back and try to destroy him again? It was such a great story with all the right feels that you kinda get jealous and want to be I. Hawaii too.
This is a well written slow burn romance with strong characters in Archer and Shiloh. The author does a great job developing their story and building their relationship. He pulled me into the story with all the emotions, laughter and steam and moves the story fluidly with his descriptive scenes. I enjoyed reading their story.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
I thoroughly enjoyed this read and pretty much read it in one sitting. I love books that pull you in and you easily forget about everything. This story revolves around Archer and Shiloh. They are a couple you can’t help but root for. There’s a lot of angst and I wanted to give the ex-fiancé a few words. This pair was made for each other and Shiloh easily took Archer’s don’t mess with me, grumpy attitude and helped him smile. You will root for them too. Great story,
Archer was left at the alter by money hungry Ashley. Shiloh is trying to follow the whales back to Alaska and needs money in order to do it. Penelope Archer’s sister befriends Shiloh and hires her to do a whale watching excursion for two weeks in Hawaii without Archer’s knowledge. Neither of them fit into each others world but through the two weeks they find a love worth fighting for. This book was exciting and worth the read.
This is an enjoyable read it flows well and tells Archer, a workaholic, and Shiloh a marine biologist story. He's given up on love after being left at the altar by the woman he loved who wanted his money more than him.
Fortunately for him, things take a turn for the better when he meets Shiloh but is he prepared to trust again and allow himself to find love and happiness? I loved Archer and Shiloh they are such interesting well-drawn characters and their story is one I enjoyed.
When your fiancée leaves you at the altar…do you stay home and sulk or do you run away to the island paradise that should have been your honeymoon? Fortunately for Archer, he chose to escape. After literally stumbling over Shiloh, making the world’s worst first impression, fate (and his sister) intervene to bring them together - and bring him out of his shell. I so enjoyed their story and this latest book from Jacob Parker.
This is a well written story with great characters that draw you into their world. Hawaii is the setting for the best love story. Archer is a wealthy man that is left at the altar. While on his solo honeymoon, he meets Shiloh. They have instant chemistry that burst like fireworks in the sky. A great addition to the series.
