Where Zombies Walk is a work of fiction in the dystopian science fiction, action, and adventure subgenre, and forms the first novel of the Kendra's Journey book series. The work is intended for mature adult audiences owing to scenes of graphic violence, sexual content, and explicit language throughout. Penned by author Eileen Sheehan, we enter a dystopian world reeling from the aftermath of a nuclear war and the dominion of an alien government. The story revolves around Kendra and her family, who were unwittingly involved in the creation of a zombie virus that was intended to subdue Russia but spiraled out of control due to an unforeseen alien invasion. Kendra's aunt is one of the scientists behind the virus, harboring a dangerous secret that could change everything.

Author Eileen Sheehan has crafted a story that keeps readers on the edge of their seats while also delving into the complexities of human relationships and the resilience of the human spirit. There’s a seamless interweaving of different elements of dystopian fiction, science fiction, and romance in a cinematic narrative filled with action, peril, and suspense, making for a fully emotive and immersive experience. The dynamic between Kendra and Rex, her lover, adds an emotional core to the story, and their journey through this dangerous world is both thrilling and emotionally charged. As Kendra navigates a world overrun by zombies and an alien regime with sinister intentions, we also explore themes of survival, identity, and the consequences of human experimentation that run very psychologically deep. Overall, Where Zombies Walk is a highly recommended dystopian read that sets the stage for an intriguing series, and I look forward to the next installment.

Eileen Sheehan is an Award-Winning author of steamy romance thrillers for the mature adult. A professional psychic and holistic practitioner for over 30 years, the majority of her 60+ novels feature the paranormal, but some are novels about people in love and a very few are self-help. As the years progressed, so has her writing style. Although she still includes romance and strives for a happily ever after ending, her stories tend to have more mystery, thrills, and a touch of horror in them.
Eileen makes it a point to write a novel length that will allow the busy readers to be able to enjoy the read in one or two evenings.

Awesome dystopian romance novel!

I could not put this book down! This has everything, and I loved the blending of dystopian with romance and even the supernatural. This alone made “Where Zombies Walk” a fresh take on a familiar genre.

Not only is the plot fast paced, but the characters were also fantastic. I loved Kendra, and found her to be a great strong female lead.

The author creates a vivid world full of tension, adventure, and danger.

Five stars!

This book was all over the place and I almost stopped reading it multiple times because I didn’t want to struggle through more of it. But, alas, I had to know where this disaster was going to end. The writing wasn’t the worst I’ve seen but very awkward and some small grammar and spelling mistakes. Lots of repetitive descriptions of character attributes that were stated very awkwardly and mechanically. Probably could just have used a lot more editing to be frank. Also, I feel like it would’ve been a much better story if the author had stuck to just one disaster instead of what felt like seventeen. I mean…aliens, radiation mutants, cyborgs, zombies, and kidnapping by psycho, hyper-sexual siblings was a bit much for me. It could’ve been a more developed story if had stuck to just one. The book also over sexualizes 17 year olds in an uncomfortable way, in my opinion. They could have easily just aged up most of the characters and avoided this issue.

I’m sorry to say that I couldn’t finish this book and gave up at Chapter 16.
The story is all over the place with zombies, aliens, mutants, to name a few.
It graphically overly sexualises under 18’s throughout the book, that just doesn’t come across in a way that adds any value to the story and if the author had just upped the ages of the characters, this wouldn’t have been an issue.
This book is just not for me.
I was given a free copy of this book from Voracious readers in exchange for an honest review.

Between repetitive descriptions, grammatical errors, and SO MUCH going on, I almost stopped reading so many times. I hate not finishing books, but, in this case, I wish I had.

We learn what life is like after an Apocalypse for the characters as we read. How many things can go wrong one after the other before humankind says, "Enough is enough!" and starts to fight back if at all? Who are Kendra, Olga, Felix, and Rupert? What happens when Kendra brings back her second successful, safe kill? Who are Ari, Baelil, Max, and Denai? Who is Rex and what is he doing when we meet him? So many things, good, bad, and otherwise happen in thie story. Already I cannot wait for book 2 in this series. There were things that made me angry, happy, and wanting to get vengence. This story is definitely bordering on the verge of erotic in some senses in my opinion and was a fun read.

I thought I was picking up a dystopian novel about zombies and aliens, but there are actually several paranormal elements to this book as well. There are psychics and witches at play. Overall, it was an entertaining read. I REALLY hated Baelil, and I was supposed to because he's one of the bad guys. Rupert wasn't much better. I was glad to see their come uppance and who the one to give it to them was.

Kendra is a likeable character and a strong female protagonist. Even though she's raised in isolation, she's strong and fights for what she wants and saves herself. She saves other characters too. I'll be interested to see where book 2 goes and if she sets foot in that village again after what happened to her there

Great read
Kendra’s story was a captivating apocalyptic story. Although she grew up isolated in a world ruled by aliens, she was strong and fought to save herself and the human race. Her mission wasn’t an easy one. This is a real page-turner that had everything, not only Zombies, Aliens and Mutants but also action, suspense, and romance. This is a very well written book, It’s a great read for paranormal lovers. I can’t wait to read book two.

I really enjoyed this book, I was hooked in the first few pages and couldn't put it down, it was fast paced, with plenty of action and strong characters. The paranormal elements were a good plot twist, and the characters were easy to become invested in,and Baelil was a character I couldn't resist hating. I can't wait for book 2, this is a series I want to follow. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
