Needing a well-deserved vacation, psychics Copeland Forbes and Tennyson Grimm accept an offer to take The Lincoln Ghost Train from Boston to Chicago. While on board, the psychics will provide private readings to the passengers and will speak with the spirits who inhabit each of the famously haunted locations the tour will visit. When Cope has an eerie premonition of danger, he chalks it up to being overtired and boards the sleeper car with his family in tow.
Detective Jude Byrne is burned out from working cold cases with his partner Ronan O’Mara. Both men are leery of taking the haunted train, but finally acquiesce when they’re told the second half of the trip will include a week’s stay at a dude ranch out west. Worried his husband will encounter spirits more powerful than his gift can handle, Jude vows to protect his family at all costs.
One day into the trip, Cope encounters Augusta Harbor, a Civil War widow who has spent the last century and half searching for her son, a Union soldier who died on a muddy battlefield mere months before the conflict ended. She appears to be a kind woman dealing with unimaginable heartbreak, but Cope is well aware that looks can be deceiving.
What no one knows is that Augusta will go to any length to reunite with her son, even if that means making Jude and Cope permanent inhabitants of the ghost train.
Sick of the slogging rat-race of her 9-5 job, Pandora Pine put pen to paper (literally!) to make her ambition of becoming a romance novelist a reality. She cut her teeth in the dog-eat-dog world of fanfiction, still dreaming of the day when she would be a published author. She lives in Massachusetts with her blabbermouth muse who’ s a fan of middle of the night plot twists.
In her spare time, Pandora fancies herself an amateur nature photographer. She enjoys mucking around in swamps, hiking through the woods and crawling around on her hands and knees in her backyard seeking out the perfect shot. Pandora is a fan of roadside seafood shacks and always thinks Mexican food is a good idea at the time.
Some of Pandora’s favorite things are chocolate, writing longhand with purple pens and handsome men falling in love with each other.
Don't miss Pandora’s seductive new novel coming soon to an e-reader near you.
Back with the gang and this time we are taking a trip on the ghost train from Boston to Minneapolis stopping along the way to visit haunted places. Cope and Ten agree to be the psychics on a train full of ghost hunters. Unfortunately, there is one widow ghost who is looking for her son killed in the Civil War and as she can't find him, causes havoc. Ten eventually agrees for Everley to help in the quest for the son.
I do wonder what's happened to Jace. Has the author forgotten Fitzgibbon is married. All the team travelled with their partners but not Jace. Also where's Greeley?
Apart from that, this author can't do wrong with these guys. I love every minute of every book.
The Orient Express, but better.... 5 stars. The invitation to do readings on the so-called ghost train tour sounded so innocent, a little like the Orient Express, but better. A perfect opportunity for a fun family outing with the kids, at least that was what Jude, Cope, Ronan, Ten and Fitz thought. What could possibly go wrong? The bizarre, ominous feeling upon boarding Abraham Lincoln's ghost train was probably just imagination.... Pandora Pine's imagination continues to surprise me. Once the guys boarded the train, an often fun but also nail-biting adventure began with a soul collector blinded by vengeance and a search for a lost son. This story is a bit of a roller coaster with suspense, unexpected twists and turns, lots of emotions, well-rounded characters and amazing world building. I had the hardest time putting it down, constantly wanting to see what the next page would bring. This is book 16 in the series. The characters and relationships have grown steadily. Often you see repetition in the storyline with these types of long series, but not with this one. Each story has its own grant adventure, a HEA and no cliffhanger. I voluntarily decided to write this review based on an ARC of this story. This review reflects my honest opinion. I love this series and hope many more stories follow. Highly recommended.
I always enjoy Pandora Pine’s ghost stories and have read them all, from Cold Case Psychic book one where Ronan approached Tennison asking for his help in a cold case involving a missing five year old boy, Michael Frye, to this one. I love the wonderful huge family they have become, cops and psychics, gaining new family members along the way. They all have children of their own now and I’m finding the banter is getting better with the eldest children now five years old and picking up all the bad habits of their dad’s.
When Cope and Tennison are invited to ride on the Lincoln Ghost Train, from Boston to Chicago, the original train that took President Lincoln’s body to its resting place, to speak to spirits at haunted places along the way and hold readings with passengers on the train, they are excited and in need of a vacation, but Ronan and Jude have a bad feeling about the trip and would rather they turn the contract down.
Cope and Tennison should have listened. On day one they encounter civil war widow Augusta Harbor who has spent the last century and a half searching for her son who was killed in the war. To say she is angry and vengeful is an understatement, she is also very powerful.
A good fun read with the usual hair raising ghosts!
This time, the guys are off on a haunted ghost train. They are the two psychics on a haunted Ghost train tour, and they're going on the Lincoln Funeral Ghost Train. The whole detective gang and families are a long for the ride, even Nana Kaye.
The Ghost Augusta is looking for her sons ghost and has a massed quite a ghost following of her own. She is one ghost manipulator and will do anything to find her son, even if it means hurting others. She is scary and powerful, and I wouldn't want to cross her.
I always love hanging out with this found family and seeing how the kids are growing up. Jude and Cope will always be my favourite pair, along with Wolf and Lizabet. The love they have for each other is mind-boggling, and I adore seeing the playboy and turn into the most amazing family man.
Everly is turning into one powerful little girl, and her powers always suprise those around her, especially her Dad. They are only growing stronger as we see here, and I think Ten and Ronan definitely have their handsful.
These stories only get better, and I could read about them till they're grandpa's. I did love the appearance of a certain ghost, too!
This is the first I have read by Pandora Pine and was overcome with how much I enjoyed the book. I quickly became enmeshed in the story line, and though I was a bit confused by all of the different characters and relationships that had been developed in previous books in the series, they quickly fell together for me. I was impressed by the sense of caring in the individual families; very refreshing! The story line kept my interest from the beginning. There was mystery and intrigue, and I was kept on my toes wondering what Augusta was going to do next. I found myself wanting to cheer Cope and Tenn on, shake some sense into Augusta and punch Aloysius for being such a pain and self-centered moron. To me this was an immediate acknowledgement of the wonderful character development. I can honestly say the rest of the series just made it on my “to read” list. I was provided a copy of this book by the author, and am leaving this review that reflects my opinion of the book voluntarily.
Aloysius Nightengale, the director of the Haunted Rails Museum arranges a ghost train tour. It will travel from Boston to Minneapolis using the Lincoln Special, the train that carried President Lincoln's body to it's final resting place. He contacts Copeland and Tennyson to do private and public readings for the passengers on the tour. And proving that they've learned nothing since the psychic cruise they took to Bermuda, Cope and Ten convince their husbands to come along for a fun family vacation. They do catch glimpses of ole Abe, but things go off program with the first haunted site. Augusta Harbor lost her son in the waning days of the Civil War. He was buried in a mass grave, and she never stopped looking for him. She's an angry ghost. And psychically strong. They only have a week to find her son, Samuel. When they strike out, she threatens Everly and the other children. Well written, fast paced. Not one of my favorite Jude and Cope stories. I didn't like how they had to use Everly's gift to assist Augusta. Overall, a good story.
Peace, perfect peace . . . Not gonna happen. Cope and Ten are finally taking a vacation on the Lincoln Ghost Train from Boston Minneapolis wih a stopover to Chicago. Well, a 'working' vacation giving private readings to fellow passengers and speaking with any accompanying, spirits. What could go wrong, right? Detective Jude and his partner Ronan are burnt out and lured onto the train trip by their partners with a promise of a week at a Dude Ranch. So, here we are with the families expecting an easy train ride. Cope, encounters a spirit Augusta looking for her Civil War son buried in a mass grave, hiding an aggressive agenda of not taking no for an answer. She gives our team one week to find her son. This is a fun read. Being on the train makes it more adventurous and confined. Now, I want to go on a train adventure. The usual questions, snark, love and fun while solving the puzzle. Our guys face a greater challenge because the kids are involved now. As always, any adventure with these guys is a great adventure. Well done! I received an ARC and am happily leaving a review.
Another intriguing ghost story for Cope and Jude to contend with, this time whilst aboard the same train that carried Abraham Lincoln's body to rest so long ago. This isn't just an ordinary trip though. It's a working one for Cope and Tenn as they will be giving private and group readings on the journey but Jude reticent with all of the recent events that everyone has been through. But, it's a trip for the whole family that ends with a week at a dude ranch that everyone will love. Of course, this group never has anything simple happen and an angry spirit demands help to find her son who died in the civil war. She crosses a line, though, when she interacts with their children. What I did find interesting is Everly and what her abilities are becoming. The group has known for a long while how strong she is/will be but it's really showcased here. It's not the hardest story line of the series' universe so far but still thoroughly enjoyable. The guys are hindered quite a lot by the guy who had organised everything, he's clearly overexcited about the possibilities but hasn't really paid attention to any warnings. Overall it is a good story line that has a good element of suspense to it that the angry spirit brought to them all. I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
4.5⭐️ I’ve picked up this series kind of in the middle, but have been very much pulled into this fascinating world with these amazing characters. This one finds Ten and Cope agreeing to work a haunted train ride, which is just a perfect idea for these characters. The prologue sets up a poignant Civil War story of a mother looking for her missing son, it’s a very well written and well told story. I also love that this follows an established and happily married couple, which is hard to find. Cope and Jude have an excellent connection and I always love spending time with this family, such a great examples of the building the family you deserve. This also has impressive world building across 16 books and counting, I loved being immersed in this world. This story also highlights Everly and her impressive (and scary!) powers, which was another highlight. A fun and twisty ride full of suspense!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I can’t believe this is the 60th book in the combined series. They are always fresh stories and some of them can give you quite a fright. So, we have Aloysius, the director of the Haunted Rails Museum, who has requested that Cope & Ten join their ghost train, the same train that took President Lincolns body home to be buried. Along the trip, they will do some readings and help any ghosts that want to move on. They agree and decide to take their families along with Kevin and Aurora. When they join the other passengers on the train & come in contact with a grieving mother who has been trying to find her son who died in the war. At times I felt sorry for her & at other times she was so hateful & scary. With the help of Everly, they are able to help her. Everly is such a strong brave little girl for being only 5 years old. You can see that even at such a young age, these kids are going to grow up to be lifelong friends. Off to the next book.
Another wonderful story! I thought the train trip sounded like a trip from hell and with Jude having foreboding feelings and Cope seeing Augusta in her black clothing and veil and feeling a chill you knew there would be trouble. And the trouble started at the bridge in Rhode Island where Augusta Harbor's ghost persuaded the teenage ghosts to go with her instead of the light. Then she threatened them if they did not find her son and at the prison most of the prisoners went with her instead. The seance was frightening and while Everly felt sorry for her she was threatening her and Cope and then attacked him and the prisoners were joining in. I was so glad that Jude was able to drive her back and I was glad that her son was found and they went into the light together and she released the other ghosts who also went into the light. The trip to Deadwood should be memorable.
Jude and Cope reluctantly join their friends for a train adventure, despite some reservations, as the train is known for its ghostly focus and historical significance as the one that carried President Lincoln on his final journey. However, their journey takes an unexpected turn, leaving everyone on edge about what might happen next, especially with their children. They can't seem to catch a break or enjoy a vacation without things going awry. To make matters worse, Cope and Ten face a challenge in connecting with a crucial spirit, potentially jeopardizing the ghost train. The book is romantic, funny, with low angst, some intense moments and I enjoyed it from start to finish. Looking forward to the next book in this series.
I enjoyed this fascinating and suspenseful story. The ghosts are fun, entertaining, and often scary. I absolutely loved the staid and stoic ghost of Abe Lincoln. Every time, I answer one of those questions about what three people you would invite to dinner, he is always on my list. I would find the chance to meet him, even in ghost form, fascinating. I loved this story, with Cope and Ten showcasing their gifts, while Jude and Ronan play protector. And Everly...WOW. Such a talented medium, yet so young. I hope they get her a guide before something bad happens. This is a great story, and I look forward to the next one.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
What everyone thought was going to be a fun train trip turns into something else entirely. While Cope and Ten are doing fun reads they're also fighting a malicious civil war era ghost. Trying to keep everyone safe and give the ghost what she wants may be a bigger problem than they are equipped to handle. Cope and Ten need the help of someone else and it's not sitting well with anyone. I liked the parts of history thrown in; especially, about President Lincoln. I would've liked a little more on the history of all the stops and maybe more contacting friendly ghosts but it is a short read and has a lot thrown in. The gang has their usual easy flow with each other. Definitely a short, fun read for the day.
Another fun adventure for our psychics and detectives. This time they pack the family and head out on a ghost train. Honestly I would love to take a train and see some of the historical sites they got to visit, but maybe without the ghosts LOL. The whole family is together hoping to get a glimpse of the ghost of Abraham Lincoln while having to deal with an extremely sad and angry mother who lost her child in the civil war. We continue to see Everly's powers grow and hopefully they will be able to get her trained soon because that girl is going to take over the world! One of the things I like most about this series is there will always be new adventures they can go on.
This time out our Salem found family find themselves riding a haunted vintage train when Cope and Tennyson agree to a gig providing readings for passengers on a ghost tour. What they get is more than they bargained for as they try desperately to reunite another separated family.
This is a great setting for Cope and Jude's ghostly adventures, and we're treated to more of the wonderful family bonds we expect to see in this universe, whether by blood, marriage or choice. I think by this stage it's safe to say I adore these characters and it's 4.5* for me for Ghost Train.
It's a good addition to the West Side Magick family. The idea to participate in a Ghost Train adventure is intriguing. The spitful ghost and the added historical bit was well done. Everly is defintitely growing into her powers which adds a layer of complication to it.
As usual, you have to know the series or at least a good portion of it, to really understand the characters and relationships. It's more a visit to old friends than discovering new ones.
Saying that, the books aren't really giving a lot new twist and while I love Jude and Rowan, their constant worries are getting a bit old.
Entertaining little story, with all the usual suspects present, although Everly does get involved in the team's ghostly shenanigans this time round. The main ghost is a grieving mother seeking out her son, although she does have a crazy edge to her, which nearly brings the guys down. I really enjoyed the involvement and camaraderie of the MCs, they're all good characters, and at this stage of the series seem like old friends. 3 stars because this is more of a novella, it's very short and, as much as I enjoyed it, the storyline does lack a little substance. Still, nice to be back with the gang.
It’s hard to say much about this book without getting into spoilerish territory, but the story is a good one with some of the gang’s trademark elements. Between Jude/Cope, Ronan/Ten, Fitzgibbons, and the kids, not to mention our ghosts, family is front and center in everything. Little Miss Everly is certainly becoming the powerhouse star and more resilient than the adults in her life. With all the vacations that have been sabotaged by ghosts, it’s a miracle the guys keep agreeing to take them though. However, there is a satisfying resolution despite the numerous occasions I wanted to smack the side characters.
Engaging story-line with suspense and some unexpected twists and turns while taking a vacation on the Lincoln Ghost Train. Great characters and amazing world building
Cope and Jude are the main couple with Ronan and Ten and Fitzgibbons along for support and family. Our little Everly is remarkable and i'm looking to see who her mentor will be.
This is book sixteen of the Haunted Souls series and would be best enjoyed if read as part of the series. There are lots of recurring characters that make up the West Side Magick group.
I was gifted this book from Gay Romance Reviews and i freely give my honest opinion and review.
Hired to be guest Psychics on a ghost train, Cope and Ten will be connecting spirits with their loved one. So they pack up their families to ride out the to Deadwood City dude ranch. What they don't expect is the Mother from the Civil War era looking for her son who died in the war. Heartbroken and angry she searches but along the was she becomes desperate and starts stealing souls to keep her power charged. She goes a step to far when she threatens their children if her son is not found and putting all in danger. Everly is amazing as she stands up against her and willingness, he compassion to help this woman.
I liked this outing on a train with the Haunted Souls gang. Cope and Tenn are psychics in need of a break. They get invited on a haunted train journey that retraces the route Lincoln's funeral took in 1865. There were a lot of interesting characters in this one. I liked Aloysius Nightengale and the naughty devious Augusta Harbor. I enjoyed the little kid characters. I think that they were fun additions to the story. I wish the story had more romance but that is my only gripe with this story. I received a complimentary copy of this story and I freely left this review.
I'll get on board with any book written by Pandora Pine! Ghost Train is a terrific addition to the Haunted Souls series. We are back together with the gang and this time we are taking a trip on the ghost train from Boston to Minneapolis stopping along the way to visit haunted places. Jude and Cope reluctantly join their friends for a train adventure, despite some reservations, as the train is known for its ghostly focus and historical significance as the one that carried President Lincoln on his final journey. This is a great story, and I look forward to the next one.
Cope, Jude, Ten, Ronan and Fitzgibbon are back for the group’s latest adventure. The five have been hard at work at the shop and running the newly formed Salem Cold Case Unit. The team is taking off on vacation…what could possibly go wrong? These guys can’t catch a break or have an enjoyable vacation without all hell breaking loose. To add to the misadventures Cope and Ten find themselves unable to reach a key spirit which could spell the end of the ghost train. Another fantastic addition to this series and shared world. These books never disappoint.
This is yet another awesome adventure with the west side magic crew. Cope and Tenn are invited to take a ride on the Lincoln ghost train. They make haunted stops along the route the former President’s body took on his final journey to Illinois. They encounter spirit of a lonely widow searching for her son. With twists and turns and the kids, Cope and Tenn try to help as much as possible. This was yet another fun read from the Haunted Souls series. I can’t wait for the next one.
Another awesome read from this lovely author. Cope and Ten have been asked to come on the ghost train and they can do readings for some of the passengers; what could go wrong? They met up with Augusta, a widow from the civil war who is looking for her son. She is up to mischief as she has not been able to find him in over 150 years. As the team struggles to help her, there was actually only person who could. Love this world and cannot wait to read more.
They just keep getting better and better with every new release. This book gathers old friends together and, once again, takes you on an extraordinary adventure of excitement and suspense. From beginning to end you’ll experience both an emotional journey and a startling one. In this author’s own style you’ll get glimpses of by gone days and characters and enjoy every minute of it. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
Cope and Ten get an invitation to do readings on the train that carried President Lincoln on his last journey. What could go wrong? Another great adventure is about to begin for the gang and their children. I love Everly, Wolfie and Aurora together. There is a surprise ghost appearance and I will leave that right here. I enjoyed this book.
I received an Arc of this book for my honest opinion.
I love mysteries and creepy stories set on trains and this one is a winner. What starts out for our group as a chance to visit some historic, haunted sites as they travel west toward what promises to be a nice vacation, they encounter an example of mother love that knows no boundaries. Watching them fight to protect themselves and their families made for a thrilling story and a welcome chance to see our old friends in action. The Civil War background was a great choice for this one.
