I read this beautifully long book twice--that's right, twice. And it was the longest blueprints book published, exceeding the length of Family Medicine.
Overall, I loved the ending where it discussed shoulder dystocias, McRobertson's manuever, and suprbuic pressure to deliver LGA infants. Amazing!
The last chapters gave me a total run for my money--what a twist! I couldn't believe how to work up vaginal bleeding. Let me sum up my evaluation just by saying this: incredible.

As far as textbooks go, this is a pretty good one! Though there were lots of typos, which is sometimes frustrating. But, the chapters were short and clear and it was relatively easy to get through. @lauren Callans I recommend!

This book has achieved an excellent balance between style and detail. It reads very well.
Unfortunately it is full of embarrassing errors. The manuscript has clearly not been through an editing pass. Thus it is unusable.

Each chapter contain a good self-test which is very good to examine your understanding

Depending on what you are looking for this book may be a great source for studying or too much information for your obgyn rotation.
For me personally I found that there was a lot of excessive material in the book that I knew from my basic sciences studies (particularly pathology) and that the 19th chapter didn't belong in the obgyn text at all. The pertinent information to obgyn from chapter 19 could have been summarized in 1-2 extra pages in the previous chapter and the rest belonged in a urology text book.
Also, I found many chapters to be quite repetitive on certain topics which - depending on your expertise and comfort level with the subjects - may or may not be beneficial to review.
I have not completed the final set of practise questions yet, but will do so in the next few days.
I also will mention that a few of the answers and key explanations for the end of chapter questions were riddled with mistakes and typos. One vignette was completely missing after the chapter on contraceptives making it impossible to answer those questions.
Overall I liked the book, even though it was a "heavy" read. There were a few problems, but not enough to dissuade me from recommending it to others to study from. I gave it a 4/5, which more accurately would be a 3.5 or 3.75/5 in my eyes.

Excellent review book for the obsgyne NBME. Chapters are well-written and include an appropriate level of information for the exam. I found concepts were explained clearly and chapters were organized hierarchically in a way that made it easier to understand connections between concepts/diseases. I'm not interested in obsgyne, but it managed to hold my attention well enough to help me learn the material - a quality that shouldn't be underestimated in review books. :)
I used it in conjunction with the uWise question bank from the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics and found it was a nice combination of resources.
One drawback is that with recent changes to guidelines regarding frequency of e.g. pap screening and the utility of self-breast exams, the information will become outdated. This would happen for any textbook, though, and it's simple enough to look up the new guidelines. The book is written well enough that I was happy to use it despite that small blip.
It doesn't use a lot of point-form lists or mnemonics like e.g. the First Aid series, so if that fits your learning style well then this book might not be a good fit.

This is a great book for shelf exam preparation. I highly recommend it for the 3rd year clerkship, as well as for review for other OB/GYN electives. It covers all of the major topics necessary for clinical proficiency in OB/GYN. I would suggest supplementing with other questions besides those that are listed in the book, as they are not as extensive as those that actually appear on the shelf exam.

A wonderful resource for students just beginning to learn about the field. The authors stay UpToDate with most topics, but there are still a few scattered tidbits missing. My biggest qualm is actually with the copy editing—too many errors and ambiguous syntax that make certain sections entirely unintelligible. Despite this, I recommend this as a must-read for all ob/gyn clerkship students.
