Justin’s role as the leader of an emerging secret society begins to crumble. It doesn’t take long to figure out that forces are acting to choke the group he has just started before it has really begun. Justin has to balance this impending debacle with the rest of his life as he gets an unexpected messages from beyond the grave (figuratively and literally.) As Justin makes an amazing discovery, people start going missing, and a powerful nemesis appears who theatens to break apart all his friendships and destroy his life.
I write action/adventure fiction with a definite proclivity towards Sword & Sorcery. I like magicians, but I'm less partial to unicorns, dragons, elves and dwarves. But give me a hero with a magic sword and I'll make him sing... Wait, I already have!
I've published a number of works under the CasiePress imprint and there are more to come.
I'm an older guy (Guy!), married and all my kids have grown up and given me grandkids to dote over. I've read thousands of books and found that in most cases, I'd rather write than read.
I really like this series, loving the plot twists and the magic development. The main character is a good protagonist and developing nicely. I thoroughly enjoy this authors work, through several fine series, and eagerly await the continuation of this series. Well done!
Same basic review - great ideas, good characters, good plot, ruined by a horrid lack of editing. Typos are one thing, but wrong character speaking, someone says "I got three things" and lists them, other character comments on something they didn't mention? A lot of abrupt jumps of scene as well.
It builds on the first book and was an enjoyable read at a fast pace, sometimes it feels a bit rushed and details seem missed but the story of justin spede and his adventures will delight a lot of fans in this genre.
An American writing as a Brit or a Brit writing as a Yank. The story was good but the language and phrasing seemed strange to a yank that lived and worked in the U.K. for thirty years +.
Justin and his comrades have an adventure and seem to drift some apart. Teawater is still his nemesis and now we have a name to go with the phoney Rosemount. We shall have to wait and see if there are anymore adventures in store.
I really enjoyed both books and look forward to the third. I commend the editors and beta readers. I found only a few unedited errors. I highly recommend this series.
A little more action and intrigue. Still fairly boring, not a book you can't put down. Likeable characters, but story somewhat tedious. Getting better, yes I would recommend this book.
This is one of the better story lines that I have read in a while. Has great characters with a good story. Best Bart is it’s not all about someone with over the top powers. I highly recommend reading this series.
This series is as good as Guy Antibes earlier ones with a sympathetic hero and plenty of action. The world is well constructed and the book is definitely a good read.
This is mostly just bland setup with the main characters watching and waiting. Lots of politics, but none of the intrigue that makes it fun. The conclusion is fast and sloppy.
