Money's On The Dresser - Escorting, Porn and Promiscuity in Las Vegas
THIS BOOK HAS ADULT THEMES AND IS SUITABLE FOR ADULTS ONLY! SEXUALLY DESCRIPTIVE CONTENT! PARENTAL DISCRETION IS ADVISED! BOOK In September of 2009 I began working as an Escort and Adult Performer in Las Vegas after breaking up with my partner of 4 years. I felt lost and was broke so I decided to place an ad on a few websites advertising male escorts. To my surprise, I started getting calls almost instantly! These requests came from a wide range of people, from those with physical deformities to gorgeous men I could only fantasize being with. Over the years, some of these men became mentors and friends while others made me want to run out of the room screaming! Here is a collection of stories of some of those experiences, ranging from the shocking to the emotional, spanning the gamut of one of the world’s oldest professions. The names and places of the events have been changed, but the stories are all very real, revealing both the dark side and the touching moments of a misunderstood profession. This is a good example of why people often avoid self published books. This one is full of spelling and grammar mistakes that should be unacceptable in a book you pay for. The story itself reads like a sort of erotic novel, rather than an autobiography. If you want to hear about clients crapping on escorts, escorts doing drugs and bad porn scene partners, this might be worth it. It wasn't as revealing as I had hoped about the industry itself, it's more focused on the author's experience.

Not worth buying because it's too short. This man hates women and he also has no compassion for the clients who pay him that aren't aesthetically pleasing. Some of the gay sex he describes is nauseating such as him fellating dozens of men in bookstores or the hookup who poops all over him by accident. There is also no real insight into the gay porn scene. There is no mention of HIV steroids or meth addiction in these pages

A good book on the escorting business, perhaps one of the best.
Daniels writes well, focusing a little but not too much time on his life before porn and escorting. The stories he tells are hot and I admire him for showing his life really as it is, warts and all. I imagine when escorts talk there's a tendency to play up how much you got and play down what you did or who you were with and Daniels avoids that trap, telling honestly what his time in the business has been like.
Most of the people who write books like this have left the business not wanting to put down clients or divulge stories but Daniels does both while coming across as just being honest, never bitchy or snide.
Escorts have to overcome a lot of Puritanical crap about their lives and their work to provide a much needed service and I was glad to read this. When you hear about the 28 year old disabled virgin you realize that these people are providing positive service.
One thing about the copy, I don't understand why so many people put out books without proper proofreading.
On page 119: "Here I was finally shooting such a, but because we were pressed for time..."
On page 126: "This really annoyed me, because if I had saved his number, I would not have known not to see him again."
On page 134: "In the elevator, I had to keep readjusting my dick in my underwear because it was still rock-hard from all the."
All the what??? There's about a dozen such errors and they distract.

Christopher Daniels used to be a Las Vegas based male porn star and gay escort and in this book, "Money's On the Dresser," he writes about his experience as those hyphenates. It's a thin book (176 pages) because, presumably, it only covers a couple of years. And really, it even needs to be edited - some ideas and thoughts are repeated more than once and can really be trimmed. But, this is an honest book: it's insightful, and is told from a very specific point of view that makes it very readable. You may or may not agree with some of his choices. For example, he seems to have a self-destructive streak that can be dangerous, and we really do not see a lot of emotional growth from the first page to the last. But he is young enough to learn from his mistakes, and I do believe he needs to experience some of these trials for his emotional I.Q. As a read, it's a great and satisfying quickie, which is probably akin to one of his hourly sessions.

Unflinchingly honest. Daring. Brave. Insightful. Vulnerable.
Not at all glamorous, which is very much appreciated.
Sections of the prose could have been more polished, at times very clumsy, a common woe for many memoirs.
Overall, this book really made me like you, Christopher Daniels!

This was a different book about a unusual topic. This man needs a job and decided to go online and advertise he could be a male escort. To his surprise he got many clients. Some treated him well and some left him screaming. This book is not for the faint of heart.

Very authentic book about the path to the adult entertainment industry. Insightful, honest and provocative.
